Amazing margaritas (actually has booze in it) Really good food and great ambience. Not inexpensive but WORTH it. Lovely patio, good service. Easy parking.
Wow. Great food and good selection of booze. Burritos are huge and the ingredients are spread out in it all proper like. Flautas were delicious and perfectly cooked. Even the kids were happy not having chicken nuggets for once.
Love this place. Kinda miss the old menu, but the servers here really care and are on top of their game. The food and drinks are super fresh and all around this place is delightful. Lovely patios. Great ambiance, food and service.
Lobster tacos can't be beat! Great food and excellent service. Almost don't wanna post 'cause I like to keep this place to myself, family and close friends. However, it is nice to share. So, good ahead, visit Adobe Cantina and you're guaranteed a wonderful meal and friendly service at a fair price. I have tried nearly everything on their menu over many years - all fantastic. Still love those lobster tacos so they are tops! Yummy!
While over from the UK visiting friends they took us for dinner to this fantastic place, the food was excellent and the staff where brilliant as my wife is in a wheel chair sometime places can be a bit difficult but this was not the case here the staff bent over backwards to help. I would and have recommended to anyone going to this area to make sure they grab food here.
So glad we came! First of all having mocktail options that aren't soda is a big point in my book. I ordered the special which was cochinitas, it was amazing. Husband ordered the 1/2 chicken mole and said it was one of the best he's had. And he's Mexican so there's a standard lol. Our server was very sweet and the patio was nice on a pretty January day. We loved it.
Friendly atmosphere, good food, nice staff. Nice outdoor space, outside is dog friendly.
Delicious FRESH food, great service with very friendly stuff and plenty of outdoor seating. It seems that they take Covid precautions very seriously. The food is really good, Ceasar salad is amazing, burritos, chicken tortilla soup, really everything tastes great and authentic.
Great food, homemade margarita mix. Fantastic service, so friendly and still efficient, perfect blend! Oh, and really the food is terrific. Sitting on the patio is a wonderful way to relax and have a meal and cocktails.
Absolutely love love love this restaurant. It’s one of my favorite places to eat Mexican food! Service and food are both excellent and the drinks are great too! You’ll love the ambiance and the location. A must visit.
Outstanding as always! Jose is the man! He doubles as the bartender and boy does he make a killer premium margarita!! Happy hour street tacos are our #1 choice. Natchos and chicken wings also on happy hour menu along with fish tacos. Their salsa is perfecto! Amazing patio.
Great food and amazing service! Had dinner with my wife tonight at this fabulous Mexican restaurant and it made our night. Highly recommended spot.
Love the outdoor space. Very zen ambiance. Food and drinks are good as well. One of my favorite go to spots for Mexican food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Alfonso waited on us...he was great. Made excellent suggestions and an even better pomegranate mojito! Margarita was not premixed garbage...it was delish. Food was also good....I saw the kitchen staff watching to see our reaction to the food from the open kitchen...always a good sign when the kitchen cares! Overall great meal and experience. We will be back! :)
Jose and all the staff at the Adobe Cantina are fabulous. Their Jalapeno Margarita is delicious and I especially love their Chili Verde. This is our favorite weekend spot and their outside patio area is delightful. I always bring out of town guests here - in fact I think Jose knows my entire family and friends! He'll know yours too, after you visit!
Great food and quick service, I eat here several times a month. They have all types of Mexican food. And a great bar
Was just visiting L.A. for vacation, and this spot was a random puck. It did not disappoint one bit. I was a part of a party of four, and we ended up trying four different aspects of the menu. None of us were disappointed. I had the asada burrito that had a very hardy size and an enjoyable flavor to make me want it again. Additionally, the staff went above and beyond for us, and there was plenty of parking.
Wonderful happy hour! Great service and good vibes to go for a group setting.
I'm writing this review from the patio, having just enjoyed an amazing meal. The ingredients are fresh, the meals perfectly prepared. Service is fast and friendly, atmosphere is comfortable and casual. I can't recommend the place enough.
We had an amazing server last night! The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing!!! Food good too except a little pricey
We had our first full family celebration/ reunion since pre-pandemic. Everything in this place and its staff were AWESOME! They accommodated a large party, which took almost the entire patio. The food was great, drinks were made as expected, and the staff lovely, helpful, kind with the needs of the elders and patient with the younger picky eaters! We all had a great time and apologize, as not being out in such numbers in a while, we probably were much noiser than most there onba Sunday morning! Thank you for the great service! My son's bday was made memorable! Plus we all got to wear the Big hat!🤭😄😄
Hands down the best mexican food I've ever had. I would definitely recommend this place.
We were seated immediately, the staff were SO nice and our food came out really quickly. The food was DELICIOUS, the best fajitas my husband has every had. The seating outside was very comfortable. If we lived nearby we would be there all the time😊
It is loud inside, so try to get seating on the spacious patios. Good draft beer selection and a varied menu with several lobster dishes.
Love this place! We have been coming here since we moved to the area four years ago and it never disappoints. The food is great and the service is some of the best we get anywhere. The ambiance and staff is very welcoming and charming. I have some pretty restrictive dietary issues and I love that I am able to order right off the menu without having to modify or special order my meal. Also, they have amazing margaritas! We recently took some friends here and they are now once a week date night regulars. One thing I must say that stands out is that they are very accommodating for large parties. We had a group of 20 plus and we never felt that we waited for anything and were not rushed to finish and leave.
Great place, esp for sitting outside. Food is awesome. Those chips and salsa are so satisfying. The drinks are good and plenty. But it's the staff that bends over backwards to make sure your experience is great. I highly recommend it!
Started off with a great basket of chips and salsa, and our waiter was fantastic and made very good suggestions. Great atmosphere.
Hadn't been to Adobe Cantina in years, and I was so surprised how great the food was. I'm excited to go back. I got the fish tacos. The tortillas were bomb, and the rice was so soft and fluffy. Beans were delicious, too. The service was great. We closed down the place.
Food was really good (the chips were so fresh, excellent), drinks were pretty good, loved the atmosphere and the service was excellent. Will definitely be back!
langosta, ,camarón, carnitas, carne asada utilized for every americanized mexican dish you may crave. And its delicious! Try their quesadilla de langosta🤩 buttery lobster with cheese...so good! This is the first time I tried something new, enchilada de camarones. Also a delish dish. Perfect for night time dates, and plenty of seating outside for CA weather.
My family and I have been coming here for over 20 years and we’ve yet to find another local Mexican restaurant that is better. I tend to judge Mexican restaurants based on the quality of their salsa and Adobe Cantina’s salsa is far superior to others - fresh ingredients, just the right chunkiness and spice level. The same quality is evident in their chicken dishes - white meat, tender, not dry. Salsa and chicken seem so basic but it says a lot about the quality of their menu. The service is also excellent and they have a great ambience!
Had a wonderful time for a bridal shower. Unfortunately we didn't get to take advantage of the beautiful patio due to the weather but they created a beautiful indoor space for us. The food was delicious, highly recommend the ahi tacos. The black beans were a bit bland though but everything else was tasty.
We really love this place. The atmosphere is great. Most of the seating is outdoors, but it's still cozy with really nice lighting at night. The staff are all very nice and attentive. The food is very good. I really enjoyed the carnitas last time. The drinks are outstanding as well. My go to is the mezcal margarita, but you can't go wrong with any of them.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Its a must try
Love this place. Staff are very friendly and extremely accommodating with separate checks for our regular large parties. Food is great and menu is really varied. Drinks are well poured and very reasonable. We go every Tuesday and love both outdoor patios and the authentic inside on cooler nights. One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area.
Great food, friendly staff, amazing fast service and great drinks too!!!! Thank you for the great experience!!
Great food, it always looks busy, but we've never waited long for a table. Food is good and comes quickly! I love coming here for a quick bite with my toddler (since he doesn't stay seated long)! There is a ton of outdoor seating (very dog friendly!) and I always see a lot of big parties when we go!
Our office eats here once a week because we can’t resist! The food is always delicious and the staff are amazing!
We had a delicious lunch and great service today September 24h at adobe cantina today. We ordered chicken quesadilla which was full of chicken and very tasty and Molcajete which was perfectly done with lots of flavor and good enough for 2-4 people. All the servers were so helpful and teamwork and attentive. Looking forward to go back again! 😍
We moved out to Agoura in July of 2023, and after a few months of trying a variety of local restaurants the Adobe Cantina became our go to spot for Mexican cuisine. Taco Tuesday is great for a variety of taco options, the fajitas are legit, the enchiladas are top notch, and the margaritas are always enjoyed. Our 1 year old really loves the rice, beans, and cheese quesadillas. My mom says the Adobe Cantina makes the best chile relleno she has ever had. This restaurant has ample parking in their lot, but there is also street parking right outside. There is a lot of inside seating, but an abundance of outside seating as well. We have never waited for a table, and the service is AMAZING. I will say that all of the staff is phenomenal, but Ricardo is one of the best waiters I have ever run into. Adobe Canrina is always delicious , very friendly, and worth the visit!
Adobe Cantina is a great place to eat! The food is freshly made and the service is just as good! You certainly don't get cheated on the alcohol in the drinks! Bartender has a heavy hand, which is a good thing!
I come here all the time with my girls and there margaritas are amazinggg!! Their chips and salsa is the best I’ve ever had and I’ve been to many Mexican restaurants. I highly recommend this place and the workers are so sweet I come and they know exactly what I want.
The food was delicous, restraunt was very clean and well kept. Just a little language barrier but we got it done. Family owned.
Great place to take a date. Lovely atmosphere and great food. I got the veggie quesadilla it was delicious. Service was good a little slow but it was busy for lunch time and there was only one server. Margaritas are fire!
Our family have dined in a few times in this Mexican restaurant on occasions. We enjoyed their signature Mexican dishes and their hospitality. Everything tasted amazing! The pricing here is very reasonable. I recommend this place to whoever enjoy Mexican food and to who haven’t tried out the Mexican food just yet. Enjoy!
Thoroughly enjoyed delicious food and a calm relaxed ambiance. Our young waiter was in training but was better than most. Will be returning regularly!
A bit off the beaten path and the building is a bit hard to see from the road, but it’s very good food and big ice cold beers! (Get the Jumbo pour)! We liked the queso fundito with chorizo and loved the Cochinita Pork Pabil. The sides of beans and rice were just ok. They also had a decent cab sav for only $9 a glass ! It was a cool night, so we decided to eat inside bit it was a bit cold in there as well - so maybe less AC or turn off the fans next time! VictorB
Love this place! We always sit on one of the outdoor patios. One is cozy and more enclosed-great for cool evenings. The other patio is under the trees, surrounded by flowers and plants. It makes you feel like you’re in an upscale restaurant in Mexico. We always start every meal with queso fundido with chorizo-hot stringy cheese to eat with warm tortillas, tortilla chips and when nobody is looking, with your fingers! My very favorite dish is the Molcatete. It’s listed as a meal for 2 people-maybe 2 people who haven’t eaten all week!! The three of us shared it and we took some home. Unreal! Loaded with all kinds of meats-all tender and juicy-my mouth is watering just thinking of it !
(November 2020) Outdoor and patio seating only at this time. Heating lamps for the night. It was very lovely. Came here to enjoy evening with friends. Service was prompt, friendly and inviting. I had the steak fajita, my friends had birria pibil and ahi tacos. All were delicious!! We had no complaints. Our drinks were on point too. I had the CUCUMBER MOJITO, I had two actually, it was hard not to request another, but I was driving so I had to say no. Look forward to returning for another night out soon!!

All around outstanding experience! Huge thanks to Ricardo for making our dinner special. Great atmosphere and service. The food is sooo good. Try the Molé. It’s the best ever! Can’t wait to come back and try everything else on the menu.
This is a fun little place with a great outdoor atmosphere. Great service—but never overbearing. The food was very good, the carne asada tacos were spectacular. Soft, tender, melt in your mouth. Recommended.
We stopped in for an early dinner/late lunch and caught the staff on break or preparing for happy hour. Didn't matter though. We got seated right away and prompt service. Tried the carnitas street tacos. Fantastic, tender and seasoned perfectly. Tacos stuffed to overflowing and delicious rice and beans. Looking forward to returning to try some other menu items and something from the bar.
My compliments to Jose at Adobe Cantina for helping me throw the most wonderful party for 50 people. Everything was fantastic! The food and drinks were delicious, the service was attentive and friendly. The patio looked beautiful. Truly a wonderful experience. Looking forward to more celebrations at Adobe Cantina!
We were staying down the street at the Townplace Suites and accidentally found this place driving by. We were in town for three nights and ended up eating here every night. Leslie was super! She probably deserves a raise. The white fish tacos were outstanding. We also had flan which was equally great. Our last night we had the Mexican Cob Salad which was beyond a doubt the best cob salas we have ever had. We shared the 18 ounce margarita which wasn't very strong but delicious and refreshing. The outside patio was inviting and comfortable. If we lived here, this would become our go to place. If we're ever back in the area we definitely will be back.
Great food, friendly staff, amazing fast service and great drinks too!!!! Thank you for the great experience!!

As Mexican Cantina goes, this place ranks fairly okay, seem to be a popular place. Well organized. They have indoor and outdoor dining. They can accommodate big party and weddings. They do have full bar also ...so that's a big plus. Food is good. If you happen to be in Simi valley give it a try you won't be sorry.
Lovely restaurant in a great location. They have outdoor seating which was great. Service was magnificent. I really enjoyed my entrée but my significant other thought his was ok. He had carne asada tacos and I had carnitas. Over all it was a nice experience. I would definitely visit again.
Lots of outdoor tables. 3 patios. 1st Margarita always good and powerful ...second not so much🙃 very watered down! So skip it and go to a bar if you want more...l guess they need the tables free for foodies...[ food is good!] ...so take your party home! 😄
Great place, great drinks and delicious food. The service is also what truly makes this place awesome. The waiter was johnny on the spot with everything and the ambiance was great for friends and conversations. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Beautiful place to have dinner. Big menu so something for everyone
great margaritas. great patio seating.
Carnitas plate was quite good. Happy hour prices on margaritas is well worth getting there before 6pm. I would definitely go again if I am in the area and want good Mexican food.
Incredible service. The food was amazing, the chicken dish I ordered (the name I can't recall) was absolutely incredible. Quite literally fell of the bone. The churro ice cream was a delicious treat as well. The prices are a little expensive, however, and not all dishes are created equal. DO NOT ORDER THE STEAK! It is practically tasteless and overcooked. Not everything is delicious, but what is very good is incredible. Service was great, our food was delivered within 15 minutes of ordering. As long as you know what you're ordering, you will have a fabulous time.
Love, love this place. Atmosphere, new menu tacos, and an EXTREMELY pleasant, friendly, accommodating staff. We've been regulars for sometime. Only problem.....last two times of sitting on the patio in the afternoon, lot's of mosquitos bites on ankles. Might be time for an exterminator!
I’ve been here twice so far and the second time was definite the best experience this far. The food : 4/5 The drinks: 5/5 Servers and staff: 5/5 Wait times: Varies Overall, I’d come here again. The steak fajitas and margaritas are worth the wait.
Enjoyed a nice lunch on the patio with friends. Ate the vegetarian enchiladas which were really delicious. Generous portions and endless free chips and salsa. Friends had salads. Friendly servers and low key vibe. Would go there again if in the area and craving some mexican food.
Steak/chicken fajitas were fantastic! Chicken tacos were tasty. The habanero salsa is super hot and very fantastic- definitely recommend!!! Service was quick and pleasant. I DON'T recommend the mahi tacos, too fishy smelling!!! So much so that I couldn't get past it to enjoy so I sent them back for the chicken tacos. Flan was delicious and a good portion. The restaurant was clean and smelled fresh. I will definitely go back!
Good Mexican food in a nice place. Not a great atmosphere, but we were there for lunch so what do you expect? The food is good so I recommend the place.
Surrounded by garden patios, Adobe Cantina is the heart of Conejo Valley’s Mexican food scene. Whether you're in Thousand Oaks or Agoura Hills, this spot is your next weekend favorite. Experience traditional Mexican cuisine—fresh, vibrant, and passed down through generations. Unique flavors! Authentic recipes! The indoor dining area was a little dark so we decided to eat outside. They do have a full bar. I love the patio garden dining area, which is a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We started off with The Adobe Margarita, which was so refreshing and chips & salsa was good. It has a bit of spice! The WOW factor is this Molcajete (for 2) with an amazingly delicious guajillo pepper red sauce, which I put on EVERYTHING!! It comes to the table bubbling hot! Although, I would have liked for it to stay bubbling hot a little longer. It’s filled with steak, chicken, shrimp, panela cheese, fresh cactus leaf, chorizo and grilled onions. I would have preferred for the onions to not be on top (there was a lot of them) and for the steak to show more instead of being buried. I would have liked a better presentation (from other Molcajetes I’ve had). The Cochinita Pibil is a slow-roasted Yucatán-style pork that’s wrapped in banana leaves. I would have liked the banana leaves for presentation. It was tender but nothing about it wowed me. Service was a little slow even though it was not too busy. We didn’t get our water refilled throughout our whole meal. And, it took awhile to get our check.
First time trying Adobe Cantina. I thought the decor was authentic. They have 4 times more outdoor seating than inside, which is normal for California restaurants. My fish tacos was tasteless and parts were tough. The service was fantastic and the food came out quickly. This would be a great place to have happy hour. I would probably order something different. The restaurant offers plenty of parking and also on the public street.
I liked the Restaurant, the food is tasty, the beer is cold. The Restaurant is in an easy location with great parking. The outside area is really pretty. The only thing I didn’t like it is that they didn’t have music the last day I went there to enjoy with my friends. Is good for someone to be aware to keep the ambiance of the Restaurant.

In this Mexican restaurant, I experienced Mexican food, Mexican people and also the environment. The taste was special to me, which I never tasted before. Good experience. And the portion was very big, I'm curious my order is a Chicken or Turkey.
The service and atmosphere, especially outside, are fantastic. My wife really enjoyed the margaritas and my Modela was icy could. My son said the wet burrito was very good, my wife's tacos she could stop gushing how tasty they were, and I enjoyed my carnitas. One of the best suit down Mexican restaurants in Agoura/Oak Park area. Highly recommend.

Came here on a Monday night. We were seated in the back and promptly ignored. We spent 80 dollars here and were not given the time of day. I had to ask for chips twice, my drink order was forgotten and I waited 15 mins before finally getting up to seek a waiter after our utensils dropped on the floor. We felt neglected. The food was good honestly. I think they need to be a little more mindful of their patrons and provide better service.
We have been going to Adobe since the day they opened. The staff is wonderful! Unfortunately, the food has declined! I had tacos that Taco Bell put to shame!! Dry meat, barely a dab on one side a "squirt" of sour cream, and tid bits of lettuce looking like it was put on and the decided lettuce shouldn't be on it so it was taken off.. like remnants of lettuce bits. It was awful!! Their crab enchiladas were these two rubbery, skinny, flimsy rolls the size of a taquito but flat. There was very little filling but lots of creme! And a fishy taste that didn't set well. Then the price.... Holy Toledo! FOR THAT!! OMGosh! I'm so bummed! Gonna have to call it quits on frequenting our ol favorite spot! Adios! We will miss the staff tho!
The food is not as spiced as I expected. Service was great. Like outdoor dining
Bad food, great location, and very warm service. We had the taco salad, fajitas, and enchiladas and the food was almost horrible. Beans from a can, cheese was shredded and from a bag. Everything was rather flavorless except their admittedly amazing house salsa. Overall, a good place for ambiance and drinks but NOT for food. If you’re already in SoCal, try literally anything else. Their patio and service are great however.
Not the best but not the worst. Came on my lunch so I'm dining solo. Waited about 5 minutes before I was offered a drink and menu. Once I got the drink and menu it was another 10 minutes before the server took my order. I ordered the Carne asada burrito and felt heartburn almost immediately. Food has the right idea but lacks the flavor. Patio is very nice weather permitting. Servers are very nice but probably won't return.
A decent place to host a large group with a big outdoor patio area. The food is pretty simple and didn't stand out imo, but wasn't bad. Service was pretty good and prompt. I ended up getting a Carne Asada Burrito. It came with a red sauce over it and cheese. Inside had some beans, rice, and onions. The meat ratio was pretty standard too. It was an simple and straightforward burrito. They also have complimentary Chips and Salsa. The standout for me is their Habanero Salsa that you have to request. That was actually my favorite item here. A very good heat with smoky elements that definitely elevates their cuisine.

The Adobe is regular "spot" for our family. Not this last time. They were very busy but there were still a few open tables. We walked in were seated right away and given menus. We were a party of 4 adults and a toddler at a 5 top. A newer waitress walks up says she is sorry to do this but she is saving the table for a larger party and no we can't have the other 5 top either but we can either have a 3 top and add a chair and highchair, right by the entrance where the door swings into the table or wait for a back table where people are still eating, but she says they will be done soon. She said "sorry", please go wait outside. We left.
Chips, guac, and my blackened Mahi salad were bland. Lacked flavor. It was a beautiful salad; however, looks can be deceiving.
Had to remove my original review because I’m never going back here again. Never had such a bland tasting meal in my entire life. Oh and when I specify “no dairy” and you bring out black beans with cheese on them and have the nerve to charge any amount extra for that, that’s just unforgivable. Find another Mexican restaurant than this. Any other. There are so many out there that are light years better and would never embarrass themselves like this place now does.
I have to echo the sentiments of other recent reviewers after eating here last night. We also spent $80 on the most underwhelming Mexican food we've had in a really long time. Flavorless, bland beans. Boring shrimp cocktail with like three shrimp in it. Boring vegetables. The only good-tasting thing was the grilled Halibut, but even then it wasn't worth $25 for the serving size and bland sides it came with. The mojitos were equally unimpressive and a weak pour at $12 a drink. Add to the fact we were ignored for so long upon arrival, and that we were never offered water or chips, we will never go back. Some in our group who arrived 20 minutes prior to me were still waiting on their drinks when I got there, and still had not gotten their drinks by the time my drink arrived, so clearly their orders had been forgotten. Hands down the worst $80 I've spent in a long time. I will say they have a great outdoor space, especially if you have a big group, but stick to beer or wine at happy hour and eat dinner before you arrive. In fact, some in our party had been here several times before and they did just that — ate dinner elsewhere prior to arrival because they knew what it was like here! That speaks volumes if you ask me. The setting is nice, it's dog-friendly, and I'd love to seem them succeed, but they have a lot of work to do.
Summary: Servers (Ricardo) lack of menu knowledge, server was rude and lied once confronted, and the manager (Jose) refused to remedy the situation in the moment after correcting the server for the lack of menu knowledge. The story: Everyone’s order was correct except for one of the family members. We let the server know we wanted shredded chicken in their burrito and not grilled chicken. He proceeded to say they do not offer shredded chicken which is offered in several other items including tacos. The manager had to get involved and corrected the server. However, the server still claims there is no shredded chicken. The server (Ricardo) slapped the check on our table (I wish I was joking) without offering dessert. We had to get another gracious employee involved just to get desert. The cherry on top is that the server claims he was never incorrect and that he had offered dessert before giving us the check. He still demanded a tip…..we gave him the tip. However, this behavior is not okay.
Pretty location. But had lunch there a few weeks ago and throw up within 1 hour of eating. Will not be back. Plus it very pricey for what you got.
