Our family have dined in a few times in this Mexican restaurant on occasions. We enjoyed their signature Mexican dishes and their hospitality. Everything tasted amazing! The pricing here is very reasonable. I recommend this place to whoever enjoy Mexican food and to who haven’t tried out the Mexican food just yet. Enjoy!
Thoroughly enjoyed delicious food and a calm relaxed ambiance. Our young waiter was in training but was better than most. Will be returning regularly!
A bit off the beaten path and the building is a bit hard to see from the road, but it’s very good food and big ice cold beers! (Get the Jumbo pour)! We liked the queso fundito with chorizo and loved the Cochinita Pork Pabil. The sides of beans and rice were just ok. They also had a decent cab sav for only $9 a glass ! It was a cool night, so we decided to eat inside bit it was a bit cold in there as well - so maybe less AC or turn off the fans next time! VictorB
Love this place! We always sit on one of the outdoor patios. One is cozy and more enclosed-great for cool evenings. The other patio is under the trees, surrounded by flowers and plants. It makes you feel like you’re in an upscale restaurant in Mexico. We always start every meal with queso fundido with chorizo-hot stringy cheese to eat with warm tortillas, tortilla chips and when nobody is looking, with your fingers! My very favorite dish is the Molcatete. It’s listed as a meal for 2 people-maybe 2 people who haven’t eaten all week!! The three of us shared it and we took some home. Unreal! Loaded with all kinds of meats-all tender and juicy-my mouth is watering just thinking of it !
(November 2020) Outdoor and patio seating only at this time. Heating lamps for the night. It was very lovely. Came here to enjoy evening with friends. Service was prompt, friendly and inviting. I had the steak fajita, my friends had birria pibil and ahi tacos. All were delicious!! We had no complaints. Our drinks were on point too. I had the CUCUMBER MOJITO, I had two actually, it was hard not to request another, but I was driving so I had to say no. Look forward to returning for another night out soon!!

All around outstanding experience! Huge thanks to Ricardo for making our dinner special. Great atmosphere and service. The food is sooo good. Try the Molé. It’s the best ever! Can’t wait to come back and try everything else on the menu.
This is a fun little place with a great outdoor atmosphere. Great service—but never overbearing. The food was very good, the carne asada tacos were spectacular. Soft, tender, melt in your mouth. Recommended.
We stopped in for an early dinner/late lunch and caught the staff on break or preparing for happy hour. Didn't matter though. We got seated right away and prompt service. Tried the carnitas street tacos. Fantastic, tender and seasoned perfectly. Tacos stuffed to overflowing and delicious rice and beans. Looking forward to returning to try some other menu items and something from the bar.
My compliments to Jose at Adobe Cantina for helping me throw the most wonderful party for 50 people. Everything was fantastic! The food and drinks were delicious, the service was attentive and friendly. The patio looked beautiful. Truly a wonderful experience. Looking forward to more celebrations at Adobe Cantina!
We were staying down the street at the Townplace Suites and accidentally found this place driving by. We were in town for three nights and ended up eating here every night. Leslie was super! She probably deserves a raise. The white fish tacos were outstanding. We also had flan which was equally great. Our last night we had the Mexican Cob Salad which was beyond a doubt the best cob salas we have ever had. We shared the 18 ounce margarita which wasn't very strong but delicious and refreshing. The outside patio was inviting and comfortable. If we lived here, this would become our go to place. If we're ever back in the area we definitely will be back.
Great food, friendly staff, amazing fast service and great drinks too!!!! Thank you for the great experience!!

Surrounded by garden patios, Adobe Cantina is the heart of Conejo Valley’s Mexican food scene. Whether you're in Thousand Oaks or Agoura Hills, this spot is your next weekend favorite. Experience traditional Mexican cuisine—fresh, vibrant, and passed down through generations. Unique flavors! Authentic recipes! The indoor dining area was a little dark so we decided to eat outside. They do have a full bar. I love the patio garden dining area, which is a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We started off with The Adobe Margarita, which was so refreshing and chips & salsa was good. It has a bit of spice! The WOW factor is this Molcajete (for 2) with an amazingly delicious guajillo pepper red sauce, which I put on EVERYTHING!! It comes to the table bubbling hot! Although, I would have liked for it to stay bubbling hot a little longer. It’s filled with steak, chicken, shrimp, panela cheese, fresh cactus leaf, chorizo and grilled onions. I would have preferred for the onions to not be on top (there was a lot of them) and for the steak to show more instead of being buried. I would have liked a better presentation (from other Molcajetes I’ve had). The Cochinita Pibil is a slow-roasted Yucatán-style pork that’s wrapped in banana leaves. I would have liked the banana leaves for presentation. It was tender but nothing about it wowed me. Service was a little slow even though it was not too busy. We didn’t get our water refilled throughout our whole meal. And, it took awhile to get our check.
First time trying Adobe Cantina. I thought the decor was authentic. They have 4 times more outdoor seating than inside, which is normal for California restaurants. My fish tacos was tasteless and parts were tough. The service was fantastic and the food came out quickly. This would be a great place to have happy hour. I would probably order something different. The restaurant offers plenty of parking and also on the public street.
I liked the Restaurant, the food is tasty, the beer is cold. The Restaurant is in an easy location with great parking. The outside area is really pretty. The only thing I didn’t like it is that they didn’t have music the last day I went there to enjoy with my friends. Is good for someone to be aware to keep the ambiance of the Restaurant.

In this Mexican restaurant, I experienced Mexican food, Mexican people and also the environment. The taste was special to me, which I never tasted before. Good experience. And the portion was very big, I'm curious my order is a Chicken or Turkey.
The service and atmosphere, especially outside, are fantastic. My wife really enjoyed the margaritas and my Modela was icy could. My son said the wet burrito was very good, my wife's tacos she could stop gushing how tasty they were, and I enjoyed my carnitas. One of the best suit down Mexican restaurants in Agoura/Oak Park area. Highly recommend.

Bad food, great location, and very warm service. We had the taco salad, fajitas, and enchiladas and the food was almost horrible. Beans from a can, cheese was shredded and from a bag. Everything was rather flavorless except their admittedly amazing house salsa. Overall, a good place for ambiance and drinks but NOT for food. If you’re already in SoCal, try literally anything else. Their patio and service are great however.
Not the best but not the worst. Came on my lunch so I'm dining solo. Waited about 5 minutes before I was offered a drink and menu. Once I got the drink and menu it was another 10 minutes before the server took my order. I ordered the Carne asada burrito and felt heartburn almost immediately. Food has the right idea but lacks the flavor. Patio is very nice weather permitting. Servers are very nice but probably won't return.
A decent place to host a large group with a big outdoor patio area. The food is pretty simple and didn't stand out imo, but wasn't bad. Service was pretty good and prompt. I ended up getting a Carne Asada Burrito. It came with a red sauce over it and cheese. Inside had some beans, rice, and onions. The meat ratio was pretty standard too. It was an simple and straightforward burrito. They also have complimentary Chips and Salsa. The standout for me is their Habanero Salsa that you have to request. That was actually my favorite item here. A very good heat with smoky elements that definitely elevates their cuisine.

The Adobe is regular "spot" for our family. Not this last time. They were very busy but there were still a few open tables. We walked in were seated right away and given menus. We were a party of 4 adults and a toddler at a 5 top. A newer waitress walks up says she is sorry to do this but she is saving the table for a larger party and no we can't have the other 5 top either but we can either have a 3 top and add a chair and highchair, right by the entrance where the door swings into the table or wait for a back table where people are still eating, but she says they will be done soon. She said "sorry", please go wait outside. We left.
Chips, guac, and my blackened Mahi salad were bland. Lacked flavor. It was a beautiful salad; however, looks can be deceiving.
Summary: Servers (Ricardo) lack of menu knowledge, server was rude and lied once confronted, and the manager (Jose) refused to remedy the situation in the moment after correcting the server for the lack of menu knowledge. The story: Everyone’s order was correct except for one of the family members. We let the server know we wanted shredded chicken in their burrito and not grilled chicken. He proceeded to say they do not offer shredded chicken which is offered in several other items including tacos. The manager had to get involved and corrected the server. However, the server still claims there is no shredded chicken. The server (Ricardo) slapped the check on our table (I wish I was joking) without offering dessert. We had to get another gracious employee involved just to get desert. The cherry on top is that the server claims he was never incorrect and that he had offered dessert before giving us the check. He still demanded a tip…..we gave him the tip. However, this behavior is not okay.
Pretty location. But had lunch there a few weeks ago and throw up within 1 hour of eating. Will not be back. Plus it very pricey for what you got.
