First I have to mention the wheelchair entrance is on the side by the pool. We came for Saturday brunch and everything was fantastic. The salmon poke was to die for with in-house made taro chips. The flavors were an explosion in your mouth! The eggs Benedict, avocado toast and catfish po boy & fries were ok. They were far outshined by the poke!! No complaints and our waitress was very sweet. Can't wait to be able to come back.
My wife and I had dinner here and both of our Entrees were delicious. We also got the oysters and they were amazing.
We always have dinners for special occasions at the Wilcox. The service and atmosphere is excellent. The old hotel is charming especially if you sit in the lobby. Try the Wilcox Gin and Tonic. Don’t be afraid that it is a little purple. It’s meant to be that way. The food is good but could be a little better. Same with the service. It is higher end but they could use just a bit more training. All in all…. I would go if you are in the Aiken area. It is firmly on the Aiken bucket list.
5 star service from the the car to the table. Valet attendants were kind and helpful. They had a beautiful lobby with live piano accompaniment to set a beautiful atmosphere. We arrived early and were offered early seating or drinks at the bar. Our waiter, Tristan, was highly attentive and provided us with helpful recommendations for our meal choices. Everything we ate was delicious! We also appreciated the small touches of several staff commenting on our anniversary, a small note, and drinks from the restaurant. 10/10 would recommend and look forward to coming back in the future.
A friend and I drove from Columbia to celebrate our birthdays. We were treated royally! The service was impeccable and the food and drinks were amazing. The BLT was probably the best I’ve ever had. The Calamari was the most tender and delicious. Everything was delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try more!
This place is an absolute treasure. I had their soup of the day (chicken corn chowder, which had a nice seasoning level and a bit of a welcome and pleasant spice, possibly from paprika but I’m not certain), their burrata salad with heirloom tomatoes and prosciutto di parma, their chicken liver pate, and their espresso martini. The espresso martini is the best I’ve ever had and all of the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Willcox.
Wonder, wonderful experience dining here. We will most definitely be back. We had a few appetizers for our brunch reservation. The bread and butter was really good as well! I would highly recommend if you’re looking for fancy dining and a nice indoor setting.
Our second visit and it was just as good as the first. Lollipop lamb chops were perfect. Chicken was excellent. Madison was a great server. Will definitely return.
We are shrimp and grits aficionados and have tried shrimp and grits at countless restaurants. The shrimp and grits at The Willcox is in our top 5, maybe top 3. We also had steak tacos, another dish that we have tried at many restaurants. Again, The Willcox has it figured out. We don't usually get dessert, but we're won over by the description of their lemon-raspberry Crème brûlée.
We had the best brunch here as a birthday celebration. Jason was an incredible server and easy to talk to. Bruce was also very accommodating. We definitely enjoyed our time and will be back!
The Willcox provided a shared evening of fine dining- great food, service and atmosphere! The chef elevated our entrees from basic to fun and delicious! Great eating experience!!
Our 1st time there. It so exceeded my expectations! From the complimentary valet to the totally laid back but sophisticated atmosphere to the very special service by our waiter, Tristan everything was wonderful! I would highly recommend the Willcox restaurant to everyone! Awesome+
My wife an I enjoyed a lovely dinner here last evening. Our waitress Kaitlyn was informative and charming, the food was prepared perfectly and the atmosphere was pleasant, even though they were very busy. My asparagus side and pork chop main were perfect (not overcooked) as was my wife's arugula salad and ahi tuna. If you are not looking for originality, but good old standard items prepared correctly, this is a great spot.
Went to celebrate my birthday. It was worth it. Food was very good and our server was very knowledgeable, funny and professional. (Wish I could remember his name so I could send him a shout out). It was pricey though. Many of the cocktails and liquor they offer, can be bought at other establishments for a significant lesser amount.
A lovely dinner at the Willcox. We have been a few times, and the Sixty South Salmon never disappoints. A nice environment with friendly staff. The only downside was the black truffle gratin that came with the fillet. My spouse said it was good but underseasoned (only item not eaten). I had the dessert special, cookies and cream gelato, delicious. 🍴 House chips and blue. cheese dip 🍴 Sixty South Salmon 🍴 CAB 6oz fillet 🥄 Cookies and Cream Gelato
I really wanted to like this place. We have a Lake house here in Aiken and visit periodically. This occasion was for my husbands birthday. We played a few rounds of golf and then grabbed dinner ant the Willcox afterwards. The ambience is nice, but we were squished at a two seated table, with another table right next to us. We had no privacy, or intimacy. We could hear their conversation the entire time. It did not feel romantic whatsoever. The service was okay, it took a while to initially track our server down. The wine selection was nice. However the food was awful. The steak was overcooked and tasted like cilantro. It was very overpowering. I would come back to drink here and ask for a different table. I most certainly would not dine here again, especially for a special occasion.
The reason I gave it an overall 3 stars is because they didnt let me know it was a limited menu and a set price for Valentines Day. I booked it weeks in advance and brought friends telling them how great the food is and you were not able to get most of the food on the menu. The limited menu had food that none of us really wanted and unfortunately we called around before staying and couldn't get into another restaurant so had to order what we could off their limited menu. It ended up costing us $100 more than we usually spend, this place was already not cheap with their regular menu but the limited was even more expensive per person. Was just a disappointing experience and with friends going for the first time I felt kind of embarrassed because I convinced them to come.
We arrived on the 13th of December 2025 to celebrate a familial birthday at 5:30 in the evening. The tables felt tightly packed into the space giving no illusion of an intimate affair. Bruce was quick with serving drinks, answering questions, and making recommendations. The dish he recommended above all others was a shrimp linguini in a house made pesto sauce. Two of our party ordered it. Things went smoothly until the entree’s were served. The two shrimp linguini dishes had become meatball marinara. When the waiter returned to ask about the meal I said “these two didn’t get the dish they asked for.” Bruce replied “the kitchen ran out of the shrimp linguini and made this instead.” I replied “they should have been told and given the option to choose another meal.” Bruce snapped back and rudely replied “They didn’t tell me and I’ve made it right by removing it from the ticket, what do you want me to do about it?” Not wanting to ruin the birthday girl’s evening by making a scene I let it go. Had it not been for that I would have asked to see the manager, explained what had just transpired, and walked out. Two unredeemable mistakes occurred. 1 the kitchen failed to communicate with its staff and 2 the waiter basically slapped a dish on the table that nobody asked for and 1 of them certainly did not want and didn’t give us even the option to order a different dish and have the kitchen expedite it. Completely unacceptable behavior from the restaurant and our waiter whom claimed to have been a butler for many years. I find it hard to believe a man who has served as a butler, the very pinnacle of service and hospitality, would ever find it acceptable to deliver a dish nobody asked for. I certainly don’t. As for the food we did order, it was fine and the desserts were delicious. Nothing extraordinary about it though. I don’t think we’ll be back.
Got the Fish and chips for lunch. You are better off with Captain D's ! Soggy Greasey fish and shoe string French fries ! McDonald's has better Fries ! 75$ for a sad undesirable meal that I could get more and better quality from Captain D'S @ a lower price. This is sad for the hype of this so called restaurant. Ya live and learn, got me once but never again!
One pretty frustrated diner here. Fortunately, since it was my wife’s birthday, her meal was cooked well. Mine on the other hand, a failed attempt. I got the 16 oz ribeye, med rare. First one comes out…looks gorgeous. Cut into it…pushing medium well. For the cost, no thanks. Please fix. Next one comes out full of raw fat, plate covered in blood because it had not been rested, and blue on the inside. They appeared to sear one side on the grill and kissed the other side for a few seconds. To spend $200 and not eat dinner is frustrating. Our waiter, Nicholas, avoided the fact that I had not eaten and instead was pushing desserts on us; which I paid for as well. Not that I expected a comped dessert, but seriously? The Cinnamon Toast Crunch crème brûlée is something that should never see the specials list again. Outside of the brûléed top, there is nothing crème brûlée about this dessert. I expected better service from this well regarded establishment, but left frustrated and stewing for the close to one hour drive home.
