The Great Recession, which occurred in 2008, was the worst financial crisis since The Great Depression in 1929. The crisis caused our stock market to plummet as well as our housing market. Went into Blackbird with some friends to watch the UFC fight and get food. Had remarkable service as soon as I sat down at the bar and the food (Brie Burger) I got was fantastic. Great spot to go eat and hang with friends, would highly recommend!

I had a grilled cheese sandwich--basic stuff, right? Not here. In Manhattan you can get a slab of cheese thrown between two pieces of toast, but here there was this amazing combination of brie cheese and raspberry jam, plus some "secret" seasoning on the toast--amazing!! The rest of the menu looks interesting and I will be back to check it out. Lots of ethnic food in Cliffside Park, but not much American fare served with some thought and care. This is a low-key, homey place that you would never imagine had such an inventive menu!

I’m an introvert so it can be little overwhelming on a Friday/Saturday when it’s busy bit it’s a safe space I can always go for any reason- good or bad, and the ppl are so wonderful it’s hard to leave sad even if I show up sad.

I liked this place. It's a relaxed environment, definitely a good place to go with a few friends to just hang out and chill. Not a party place but it's a good environment. The food was surprisingly good too, had fries, mozzarella sticks (and not the frozen kind!), and wings. Alcohol reasonably priced too. Wouldn't mind coming back here a few times.

The moment you walk in the door, you are greeted and made to feel welcome, as if you are an old friend, not a “walk-in”. That high level of attention continues throughout the visit. You literally never have to ask for a beverage re-fill, the staff cheerfully graciously stays one step ahead of you all the time. Regarding the food, The Blackbird offers a nice variety of appetizers, sandwiches, and the like. While I have not tried everything on the menu, I can definitely say that the various hamburger options are all superb, as are the wings, with five varieties of sauces, (hot honey, garlic, barbecue, buffalo, garlic, parmesan, and sweet chili Thai). Prices are reasonable; the crowd is always genial and mellow, and the owner and staff are warm, friendly, and frankly an interesting group of characters with entertaining stories to tell. I highly recommend that you give The Blackbird Pub and Restaurant a try. You will be glad that you did.

If I could give this place one star I would. This place is filthy! Ordered a burger that took forever to come and was burnt. Had a little fly floating in my drink. Then while I was eating it a COCKROACH crawled across the counter right next to my food. Defiantly will not be going back!

Visited here a few years ago and the menu was a bit expensive and they had very pretty bartenders working here. I visit 3 years later and same menu but much moore expensive food and beer is also more expensive. Also now there was men bartenders and no pretty girls anymore, this is a big reason why I think it was more busy.
