Best Chinese place around Fermilab. Sesame Chicken with Pork Fried Rice is a lunch special king. Have you ever craved a flavor and then gone to a restaurant hoping it can deliver? I sure have, and China House does.

My go-to Chinese restaurant for decades. Just ordered my 3rd annual Christmas Eve dinner for my family. Everyone loved it. It’s our new tradition. Hope they stay open for another 40 years!

I have been going a good amount of years and everything had been so good. Their crab rations are nice and crunchy and beef sticks tender. Their general Taos chicken is a favorite as well and the the lo mein noodles.

I stopped by the other day when I was in the area and the food was delicious! I'm an egg roll snob so I was surprised that the egg rolls were so good! Egg drop soup was delicious as was the pork fried rice. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

China house is the best Chinese food I have ever had. I have lived in other cities, looking for Chinese food that is half as good as China house and have never found it, leaving me craving until I come back home. My family has been coming here for 2 generations now, as my mom used to eat here almost once a week when she was growing up. Our go to is their pork fried rice, egg fu young, beef low mein, egg rolls (with the homemade sweet and sour sauce), and the pan fried noodles!

The food is always good quality and quantity and it's delicious. I have Chinese restaurants near my house but choose to make the 15-20 min drive to China House because their food is superior. Tonight, I ordered Shrimp Pad Thai. It's my 1st time ordering that dish from China House, and it was SO good. I will definitely order that again.

Love this place. Some of the best egg rolls we've had in the area :)

Pleasantly surprised at how tasty and high quality the food is. Beef was very tender and fresh as were all other ingredients. Everything tasted good. Best Chinese food I’ve had in a while.

This was simply the best. I have been on the hunt for delicious Chinese food that is also quality and the China House did not disappoint. This place literally took me back to one of my favorite Chinese restaurants as a child- the flavors were superb and the vegetables were fresh and not to mention the egg roll! So delicious! 10/10 recommend!

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I took a bite out of my Eggroll and the flavor just hit me. The peanut oil added the perfect amount of nutty goodness. Best Chinese food I had in a while:) and the orange chicken is THE bomb

I have been dining here since the late 1980's. The food is excellent and is known in the area for being so. The atmosphere is a bit lacking but the food is really good and many people take their food to go. If you haven't experienced the food here and you like really good Chinese, do yourself a favor and try it out!

The place is classic in layout, almost dive-like and when you first walk you may question if you sgould order or not. However, this place has a lot of regulars and grows a long line quickly. I took a few suggestions on what to order from the locals to see what they like so much. The portions were well sized and the items we ordered ( beef and broc and shrimp in lobster sauce, egg rolls and chicken fried rice)were tasty and very nicely prepared. The owners work there and this is a family based business.I look forward to going back to see if they're consistent.

One of the best Chinese restaurants I have had. The food was fresh and still hot on delivery. Definitely a must try!

My wife and I have been long time customers of East China Inn. After many years of decent food and mediocre service, we decided to try China House. I can say with certainty that the food is better at China House and the staff are much friendlier. We have officially switched teams! See you again soon!

We are up from Texas and I had to bring my wife here. My first visit here was in 1997. I worked nearby for 25 years and had lunch here often. Tonight we split egg rolls, teriyaki beef sticks, and pork fried rice. We loved it.

I've been coming here for a quarter century. I was surprised when I saw I hadn't reviewed this hidden gem! Tucked away in little strip mall, this place has been serving up some of the best Chinese food in the area for many years, and under the same owners. The owners are great... friendly, appreciative, and efficient. The atmosphere is old and unassuming, but clean with plenty of space for indoor dining. The prices are decent and the portions are plenty. But the food is the real reason you'll want to stop in at this China House. I find it to be perfectly flavorful and fresh on every occasion. You can get the spice level customized, but canned drinks or tap water are your options for washing it all down. If you like the Chinese dishes that are most popular in America, you'll love this place.

Low key, great prices. Whenever I visit from Texas I must go there. Theirs is the best Chinese food "BAR NONE" anywhere I've been. Just great . . . now I made myself hungry. I'll be back in July on vacation and get my potsticker and pork fried rice fix none too soon!!!!!

Consistently great Chinese food! We love that this place has been local family owned and operated for decades. They know regular customers by name and if they have a moment, will stop to chat with you and catch up on things. We usually get food for take out but they do have a small, modest, and functional dining area.

Classic 90's style Chinese place. This is where the locals get their takeout and where I will be coming any time I'm visiting the Warrenville area. The food tastes exactly as you remember it and the egg rolls are perfect. Perfect.

C

Delicious, like walking into a place from the 90's. Got the pork fried rice with egg roll for lunch special it was very affordable. Put it in the fridge for dinner and reheated well. Egg roll was just how I like it, gonna get some more in the future.

R
Rae Carson

We probably won't make this our go-to because of price (and the portions weren't quite big enough to justify it IMO), but you can see the menu and decide price for yourself so I won't dock a star. We got General Tao's, Mongolian Beef, and Sesame Chicken (see note). Egg rolls indeed are excellent. Ingredients seem fresh and quality for sure. It's Chinese food you feel good about eating. Leftovers had that classic second-day takeout goodness. My favorite flavor was Mongolian Beef, my husband preferred the Tao's. Tao's was not spicy so we might ask for extra spicy next time, but flavorful. All came with some veggies in it and pork fried rice (v good). Note about sesame chicken: if you're like me craving the guilty pleasure battered sesame chicken with a bit of a crunch and a slight sweetness, this isn't it. This tastes more wholesome and pure. Which is objectively great, but didn't fill that comfort hole in my heart. Just something to be aware of before ordering! I did really like its sauce on the broccoli.

First time I have eaten here, food was absolutely delicious! Mongolian beef and pork fried rice were phenomenal. Friendly workers. Will definitely come back!

This has the best take out Chinese food. Order the egg rolls and crab Rangoon!! Ask for the HOMEMADE Sweet and Sour. It’s delicious. We always get both of those and the king pao beef and sweet and sour chicken. Their chicken noodle soup is so good when you are under the weather. We also love their egg drop and dumpling soup as well. Honestly there hasn’t been anything there we haven’t liked. I’ve been going here since I was a kid and my parents even longer. If you love crab Rangoon you will be disappointed everywhere else you have it after you try it here. The restaurant itself leaves little to be desired. It’s very clean but outdated but we never stayed to eat in. Always to go order. This a family business and they do their best to keep prices affordable. Always friendly and my order has only ever been wrong ONE TIME in like 1000+ visits. So amazing. And on top of it they wrote a note that next time they would give me an egg roll. Which they honored when I came in next.

Best Chinese food I’ve ever had. My go to is the General Chicken, it’s the perfect blend of spice and flavor. And you absolutely must have the crab puffs, the thin crispy shells are so delicious, a must order.

Absolutely Delicious! I had an amazing experience here. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. Every dish was perfectly seasoned—especially the orange chicken which was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and had a great atmosphere. If you’re craving authentic, delicious Chinese food, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!

One of the most pleasant experiences I've had dining in. The people were very polite and kind. The service was amazing, when I let them know my allergies they made it very easy and simple. They brought out the food fairly fast too with really good sauces and everything was hot and delicious. I highly recommend the bbq pork fried rice and the eggroll. First time here and I will definitely be back soon :)

Nice little hole in the wall place for Chinese food. Reasonably priced and tasty. Good selection. They have a good take out business there also. Not easy to find as it doesn't stand out but worth the effort to find

The egg rolls are good, especially, because there are nice chunks of shrimp and vegetables in them. I tried #25. Chicken & broccoli. Not overly sauced, large chunks of white chicken, broccoli just right, and served with rice. I'll be more adventurous next time because I like spicy food, too. Very reasonably priced. Very clean restaurant.

Could of been better. Never saw or tasted the crab meat in the crab rangoon, quite small too. Sweet + sour shrimp had way to much breading 4 my liking.Hardly tasted the shrimp. Shrimp egg foo yong was good but definitely needed soy sauce 2 bring out the flavors. They didn't put any in my 2go bag. BUMMER

China House has always been our go to. Food is consistently excellent and always tastes fresh BUT, I understand the need for price increase but I've noticed they have shorted my crab Rangoon the last 3 times . I didn't complain, but this now the 3rd time. Additionally they are skimping on the meat in our orders. I don't mind spending $100 for excellent food, but skimping has crossed the line. I will think twice before we order from there again Too bad, we loved China house and were loyal.

The food and portions used to be outstanding. The past couple of years both have slipped significantly. Pot stickers purchased middle to end of the week are hard and dry. There is almost no sauce on dishes now except when sauce is put in a separate container. Nuts are almost not existent on dishes that should have them. The woman taking the orders is disrespectful when you pick up your order. Maybe it’s time to find a new take out place.

We ordered for the first time tonight and thought the food was good and fresh, but the portions were small. Good flavor and quality(minus one bad piece of sweet and sour chicken and a chewy beef teriyaki). We spent $90 and me and my husband each had a lunch plate and the 2 kids had kid plates. We probably have enough for 2 more lunch plates for my husband to take to work. The place we normally order from, we order the same items and spend about $60 and would have about 4 plates left over. So we spent $30 more for 2 less meals. This place charges for a small what others charge for a large. Had the prices been more comparable, we would have ordered again.

I recently dined in at this restaurant and unfortunately the experience was disappointing overall. I ordered the sesame chicken, and it was almost entirely batter with very little actual chicken inside. The pieces were also quite hard, which made the dish difficult to enjoy. The soup was decent and probably the highlight of the meal. However, the restaurant itself felt unkept and not very clean, and the atmosphere wasn’t very inviting for dining in. This might work better as a takeout spot, but based on my experience, eating inside the restaurant wasn’t very pleasant.

I called and placed an order for delivery. I told the guy exactly what I wanted and when I got the food it was shrimp lobster sauce and not shrimp Fried rice with lobster sauce. Also, the store is only 10 minutes down the road. I finally got it in one hour Gave the delivery guy a $10 tip but yet the food was cold I called told the owner that my food was cold and he told me to either pick it up from now on or don’t ever call again for delivery. who talks to someone like that when you own a business. he wouldn’t let me get a word in edgewise at all. All I wanted to tell him was you need to talk to delivery driver and if he’s running behind or lost, he needs to call the customer. I will never order here again and I recommend that you don’t either very rude owner .

BEFORE ORDERING FROM HERE READ THIS: Couple things to mention. #1: Called to place an order at 11:45pm and got off the phone at 11:47pm. Was told 15min for food to be ready. (I always give 5min extra) @12:06 I get a call saying "your food has been ready for a while. Where are you?" AS I'M PULLING INTO THE PARKING LOT. This confused me because it's only 4 min past "agreed" time. As I walk in 2 tables are busy and my food is staying on the counter like it just came out as he called me. #2 FOOD QUALITY: food was sooooo poor I wouldn't feed it to my dog. First of rice was clearly DAYS OLD. Fried rice meat was super dry, flavorless and chewy. General tsao was an abomination. BURNT chicken dosed in sauce. Chop suey gravey is just water. (SEE PHOTOS). When I went back, I told them to try the food and see if they would pay $24 for it. #3 PORTION SIZE/COST. Are yall serious 5 sweet sour chicken pieces and 4 chop suey chicken for $15? Highway robbery on Naperville folks. Every other review on here says the same things. #4 inflated ratings: if you look closely some reviews on here are fake and the accounts are not real. There has been remarks of owner giving discounts on good google reviews. Avoid this place at all costs!

Food wasn't bad but too expensive for this quality. Yes it's made fresh but still the quality could be better for these prices.
