Healthy sized portions and lovely flavors for our first time visiting Burrito Express. I am embarrassed to say that I have frequently gone to the Taco Bell nearby and I may have to shift over to this place for fresh and more authentic food. I ordered through their drive through - we went during lunch rush so there was a bit of a wait however our food came out hot. The staff member was polite and gave me bonus salsas without asking. I got the Chile Verde burrito which was nicely sized and portioned for the prize I thought. It had well balanced insides with well seasoned meat. The verde sauce also added a pop of flavor. I got a combination plate (it comes with two tacos my picture shows one as a family member snagged the other one fast!) with carne asada tacos and rice and refried beans. Every component was tasty and went well together. The guac, pico and meat in the taco blended super well. Overall really enjoyed our visit here and it felt like a good price point of around 20 dollars for the amount of food you receive.

Low key spot at the end of a strip mall with a drive thru. Amazing breakfast burritos. I got the machaca burrito with eggs, cheese and potatoes. The burrito came wrapped in a yellow paper and is huge. The fresh tortilla was perfectly toasted. Lots of meat, eggs and real potato pieces. It had diced green chiles inside, but not liquid green chili. Wash it down with a House made Horchata and it can’t be beat.

I've only tried a few things from this place- but so far so good. Their spicy chicken chimi & their carnitas burrito has been the highlight. The only knock I can give them is that they don't have ANY Green Chile whatsoever. Obviously that is a Mexican Food staple, so IMO it's just a total bummer & a giant missed opportunity!

Good place to eat! Very friendly staff and it was very clean after a rush hour too. I grabbed the Campana burrito and I judge my burritos on how good the tortilla is.. very important.. it was really good the only thing that ruined it for me was the grilled onions they weren't grilled enough to my taste but everything else was good and I'll definitely try to go back for a different item on the menu!

For some reason I’ve always had an issue with the amount of sauce I’m given. I was told you get 2 cups of sauce for each burrito. My husband went and purchased 2 burritos one for each of us, and asked for extra green sauce, and was willing to pay for it. He got home and we opened the bag and there was only 2 green sauces total, which isn’t even meeting the “2 cups per burrito”. The free sauce is the best part about burrito express 😭😭 I’ve consistently had issues with getting extra sauce or even just the bare minimum amount of sauce and I’ve been coming here for years. Makes me so sad

I had the bacon, egg, potato breakfast burrito. It had too much egg not enough potatoes and bacon. Overpriced for the value received. The salsa was just a green liquid not even hot like I have requested. They have no chilie. I will not be returning.

Sadly, I was really disappointed. I was hoping to find a new go-to spot for Mexican takeout. I’ve been here numerous times before, but it’s been several years, and usually just for breakfast burritos—which have always been good. Tonight was a different story. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla because I didn’t want anything too heavy. I was surprised it didn’t come with any sides like guacamole or sour cream—just hot sauce. The quesadilla was packed with meat, but it was flavorless and a bit dry. I also ordered sides of rice, beans, and guacamole. The rice and beans were good, but the guacamole was honestly the strangest I’ve ever seen. It was a very light green, thin (almost watery), with chopped tomatoes mixed in, and it lacked flavor. It didn’t taste fresh or authentic, and I couldn’t help but wonder if sour cream had been added to stretch it. The total came to $32 with a generous tip, and I wouldn’t have minded paying that if the food had been flavorful. What I found particularly strange was that after I ordered and went to pay, the man behind the counter asked, “Are you going to pay that?” I said, “Excuse me?” and he repeated himself, adding, “People complain about the prices.” I responded, “If it’s good, I’m willing to pay for it. It’s basically home cooking.” Unfortunately, it wasn’t and it just didn’t deliver. Very sad experience.

Their breakfast burritos are good, nothing to complain about, but the past couple times my fiancée & I came through the drive thru, they’ve straight up asked if we wanna leave a tip. We’ve tipped $2 each time, but after stopping by this morning, the lady at the drive thru decided to charge a $3 tip without asking. Like hello?? We order the same thing every time, so the price should be the same every time. Our total is usually $19 and some change, but today it was $22 and some change. She acted surprised my fiancée asked why our total was suddenly $22 after she told us the total would be $19 after we ordered at the speaker. Crazy behavior & entitlement unfortunately.

Use to be Amazing Service & when you paid to add Rice they made SURE you had Extra Rice, Guac thry use to provide a nicr helping of guac so far No Rice & No Guac when I've paid extra. This is the 3rd Time Been going there since 2009. Thr Experience is not worth it any longer.

I will never come back here. $18.85 for Adobada fries is ridiculous. On top of being way more expensive than it was last time I came (less than a year ago), it also does not taste anywhere near as good as it did when it was like $11-12. That makes it an easy choice to say I will never return here again. Sad to say, because I used to live a few blocks away and I would eat here several times a week back then.

Great food but why is everyone that works here so stingy about the sauces? I consistently ask for extra sauce and get one or none. I don’t understand it. Large burritos require more than one sauce

Went in for 2 Burrito Supremes. I asked to add meat. She tried to charge me $35 for 2 burritos. I told her to remove the meat and make them regular. That dropped the price to $21. Now, when I get home, the burritos had nothing but lettuce, tomato and sour cream. All Veggies! No beans at all. Total rip-off!! I will never go back and I advise anyone reading this to stay far away from this place! Looks like Burrito King @9206 W Alameda Ave, Lakewood, CO 80226 is the place to go now. SCREW BURRITO EXPRESS!!!!
