The atmosphere was as laid back as it can be and the food was top notch. Fried catfish, fried shrimp, King Crab, and Dungeness, Rice, Garlic Noodles, it was all Great!

My friend and I were craving seafood, so we headed here and omg we were soooo happy we did. The food was amazing! We were dancing in our seats! We had the two person king crab legs boil...only we had the sauce on the side, so each of us could control the amount of sauce on each bite. It was so freaking tasty, while it was not a cheap lunch it was worth it as a treat. The waitress and owner were sweet and attentive. 10 out of 10!

Fresh, delicious seafood. While they are known for their low-country boil, I had a fried seafood basket. The oysters are plump, big, had a sweet hint of ocean, and fried whole in a great cornmeal-based batter. The calamari was perfectly cooked - no rubber texture noted at all. Staff is super friendly, and keep the place clean.

Hang Ten is by FAR one of the BEST places in The Bay Area to have Dungeness crab. The flavor is amazing. The portions are generous and filling. If you don’t like seafood , pretty much EVERYTHING on the menu is delicious. I’ve tried every kind of chicken they offer (bbq, lava, Katsu) the catfish, the teriyaki steak...even the sides can’t be beat. The Mac salad tastes straight off a Hawaiian island. They even have a drink I haven’t been able to find anywhere else but Hawaii! The staff is attentive , courteous and expedient. I’ve had the honor of meeting the owners and they are the perfect combination of ‘business professional’ and down to earth all at the same time ! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal. I will definitely be going back! Again...and again....and again😊

Came back from Hawaii and was still craving the vibe of the island. Ordered the garlic shrimp and enjoyed it. That one dish could easily feed 2 people. I can't wait to go back.

I haven't been in years, but the boil is the same out of this world we could not stop eating. The service was perfect as always. We got crab, shrimp and crawfish 😋 . We even had leftovers for two .

The cost was reasonable st $16, excluding tax and tip. Their food is also delicious. I recommend the garlic noodles, sweet potato fries and, of course, the chicken katsu. My sister had the Kalua pork with cabbage and a housemade salad. She said her pork was a tad salty. The steamed broccoli was lacking in seasoning. I should have asked for some soy sauce. Service was good and the wait time wasn't long. There were so many choices on their menu. It was hard to decide what to order. Street parking can be problematic. There is a public garage about 1-1/2 blocks away on Oak Street. AC buses 51A and 20 are within walking distance.

Update: Came back here after 2 years and it's still amazing! Food was delicious!!! Highly recommended it.

The food never disappoints, it’s consistently delicious, the portions are plentiful and they have excellent customer service. From the mixed BBQ plate to the garlic shrimp, everything is always good. Every. Single. Time. Special shoutout to Kimmie who seems to always be working whether we dine for lunch or dinner. She’s super sweet and is calm under pressure (especially during a recent dinner visit and it was crazy busy).

I had the Kalua pork which tasted like the pork I enjoyed at a lua in Hawaii. Recommend reserving a table through Yelp ad wait times to get into this very popular restaurant can be 45 minutes roku an hour. Well worth the wait.

The food is great, always. Tasty and fresh. Make sure to follow instructions if pre-ordering a pickup, as they are very diligent of who will pick up the food.

Really good Kalua pork meal... A little to much cabbage but they have an option without. Island Macaroni was really good. I recommend this place and I will be back, I gotta try the spam musubi Went back and got the crawfish and garlic shrimp, very good!

Lemon pepper shrimp was bomb. Mixed BBQ plate: Asked to put the sauce on the side, wasn't an option. Extra charge to ask for no rice. Meat was a little tough, but good flavor. Dad said the salmon was hard and rice was half cooked. Broc was too hard for him to chew. But overall, was good. Would come back.

The workers inside were very welcoming winched I like that a lot. The server greeted me right away , gave us water and the menu's. I read the whole menu before I ordered which the server gave us time and also offered to help answer any questions that we had with the menu. NOW TO THE FOOD. I tried to order a little of everything from the menu lol. I got the Catfish basket w/ cajun fries, a order of Garlic noodles, a order of Lumpia, a order of Mac Salad and a order of Shrimp/ Katsu chicken Basket w/ cajun fries. The food was very tasty and I enjoyed the flavors of everything. The food was served fresh and hot whiched I liked alot. Their homemade aioli sauce was really good with the catfish and shrimp. The only thing I would say needs more seasoning is the Mac salad it was a little to bland tasting , also their fountain drinks are not refillable which was a downside!. But overall I enjoyed my time there and I would go back and recommend this place to a friend .

That said, they do a great job with to-go packaging, so ordering takeout is a solid option if you don’t want to wait around in the restaurant. The seafood boil is excellent, and the garlic noodles are a must-try. I recommend the Lady Dub special. It is super flavorful, good portion, and worth it. The service was poor, and it felt as though the servers didn't know the menu well. If we had questions about substitutions, they responded with a question. The menu has lots of seafood and Hawaiian dishes that sound amazing. The place feels laid-back and fun, with a sports theme and TVs everywhere. I have to be honest, I've had the Salmon..tough,not good,the Mahi Mahi...nothing special..the Fire Chicken...my stomach is bubbling, the Spam and Rice...kinda messy, I will not be spending $50 on that crap again. And I had the Salmon on a different occasion and it was still a 4

They claim that they have the freshest crawfish in town. Oh well, it’s overboiled too! The most horrible mashy crawfish I’ve ever tried! Won’t ever order from them again. Plus the seasoning is off too!!!!

I ordered the Aunty Nancy dish, which features a whole Dungeness crab. While the food itself was absolutely delicious, the dining experience was far from acceptable. The waitress didn’t offer any apron or gloves, and when we asked for crab-cracking tools, we were told they didn’t have any. How can you serve a whole crab without providing the basic tools needed to eat it? We paid $125 and expected a complete, thoughtful dining experience. To make matters worse, the restroom was in an appalling state—paper towels and toilet paper scattered all over the floor. As someone who also works in the service industry, I understand the challenges, but cleanliness and basic hospitality should never be overlooked. Food was undeniably amazing, but the lack of proper service and poor hygiene ruined the experience. Unfortunately, I won’t be dining in again.

I hadn’t been to Hang Ten in Alameda in a few years and was excited to try it again for an end-of-year dinner. Big mistake. As soon as we walked in, it smelled like old seafood trash—disgusting. Shrimp was mushy. The garlicky sauce they used to be known for? Now it’s just salty water with a bit of garlic. The roti was stale and tasted awful. We should’ve gone to Ono for a rice plate instead. This place was trash. Never coming back

This place is usually good but this time I was served shrimp in seawater flavored sauce, unfortunately I ordered to go and didn’t check my food until I got home. I also ordered the garlic noodles and they were old and dry. I called to let them know and the manager told me I needed to return the food in order to receive a refund. If you like thin seawater sauce then go for it.
