I loved their Walnuts and prawns, the cream was so tasty and the walnuts so crunchy! The noodles were really good too, I'll definitely stop by again!!!😋

This is our second time visiting. The food is always delicious. We had the beef fried rice with basil, you can taste the basil throughout the dish. It was very good. The hot tea was also very good. Great service and the staff was friendly although they were extremely busy due to the Chinese New Years celebrations. Definitely a must try when in SF Chinatown District!

This was a great authentic feeling Chinese restaurant. The portion of beef chow mein was very generous, although mostly noodles. They also do give. You a hot tea when you come in. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Nice, authentic Chinese restaurant on the outskirts of Chinatown. Fair prices, peaceful atmosphere, kind and professional service. I got Mongolian beef! It has a little kick of spice in it. Sweet and savory!

Had lunch here today and the food is very decent and the prices are reasonable comparing to today’s standard on prices. Ordered three dishes and the food is quite authentic. Overall good value for the price and taste.

Cafe New Honolulu is located next to my old Chinese language school, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. This is a Hong Kong style cafe and does not have Hawaiian food on the menu. My first impression of this restaurant was how big the dining room was. It was modern and sort of clean. I was skeptical of their authenticity because of it. But, during my meal, the kitchen staff rolled the big Recology garbage cans through the dining room and out the front door. This confirms that it is an authentic Chinese restaurant. I had their baked pork chop spaghetti $11. It was OK. It didn't have that deep tomato taste and the spaghetti was too moist. Pork chops tasted fine but the color was off. The noodles broke apart when I used my fork on it. Given that it took over 30 minutes for this dish to come out, I would not order this if I'm in a hurry. If you are worried about your parking meter or garage tab, the food wait time will push it over. There were only two parties eating. Slow kitchen. Washington Bakery used to be my favorite HK style cafe in Chinatown. They are no longer in business.

It was an authentic Hong Kong restaurant. Clean, quiet, and most importantly, delicious. I just took rice with steamed pork, and this simple cuisine tasted amazing. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the amount of rice they gave is more than enough to fill one's stomach. Price was also reasonable. Highly recommend.

Go-to place for baked pork chop over rice! Huge portion for the price and delicious. We always get an extra to go. The flavor is great; my husband says it’s very nostalgic of his childhood in HK. Worth the trek up the hill from Grant!! First pic is the to-go portion, second shows all the goodness midway through devouring! So yummy!

I have visited San Francisco in July. I'm so happy that I have found this place by chance. Their food and drinks are excellent, traditional Hong Kong style. The place is clean. The price is actually too cheap. I have eaten here 3 of the 5 days. I was never disappointed. Highly recommended.

We ordered the beef noodle soup and the wonton noodle soup, both of which are delicious!! If I had to pick one over the other, I would pick the beef noodle soup. The service isn't great unless you're Cantonese or if you know the owners, but that is pretty generalized throughout Chinatown. This place is definitely worth visiting, especially with the affordable prices. Complementary tea comes with all meals.

xO Flavoring is very good .. & I would return again. It’s not quite a 4 & should b 3.75. The noodles & the cheung fun was a little bit overdone. I don’t mind eating it mushy but their flavoring is very tasty

Great spot located in Chinatown. Is busy enough to turn over food but not super busy when we were there to create too much noise. Simple decor but fair spaces between tables to allow for a bit of privacy. A few locals and tourists coming in too. Choices were quite good and quite decent portions especially for lunch. Tables were clean, staff were efficient and friendly service. Toilets were clean and wheelchair accessible.

During a tour of San Fran, I walked through Chinatown and gave Cafe New Honolulu a try. Ordered the Sweet Fried Rice and Fish Balls. The rice was GREAT (loved the texture and stickiness). The fish balls did nothing for me - lived the sauce, but didn't enjoy the fish (it was made correctly, and I'm sure others love it, but it wasn't for me). However, I would go back and try another dish or two.

An enjoyable meal after exploring San Francisco Chinatown. Fried Rice with salted fish and chicken was my favorite. Complimentary tea was fragrant and good.

Great place! Great tasting food! It was nice to taste authentic Chinese food from the San Francisco's own China Town! Bathrooms were dirty that's why I give it a 4/5. If you decide to come here, just bring cash. That's the only kind of payment they accept.

Tasty food for affordable price that hits the spot when your looking for fried rice and noodles. Your basic no frills Hong Kong style cafe that serves stir fry noodles, congee, cheung fun, coffee and milk tea etc. Only one waitress for the entire restaurant, she was nice albeit, poor lady running around the whole time. Food came out in reasonable amount of time.

TLDR: solid food at reasonable price I ordered a fish and gravy rice and a HK milk tea and the bill came out to just over $15. The HK milk tea was strong and flavorful and fragrant. The fish and gravy rice came out quickly as well and while tasty, would be nice to have some vegetables with it as it only had fish and tofu. Adding some broccoli or something else would help bring some freshness.

I had a baked pork rice plate, milk tea and company deluxe sandwiches. The place is clean and pleasant To support Hong Kong cafe, I gladly give it a 5-star. Oh I have to remove 1 star = 5 - 1 = 4. The toilet was a mess.

Café New Honolulu imhv is a decent affordable restaurant in Chinatown conveniently located on Stockton Street between Clay and Sacramento streets near Muni buses (8, 30, 30s, 45 and 1) and new LRV T line. My favorite dish is its Cantonese beef brisket 牛腩 wonton soup which imhv is the BEST (replacing ABC Restaurant used to be located on Jackson Street) in The City: deliciously prepared, i.e., real quality beef brisket牛腩, and insanely inexpensive: $8 bucks! (Common let's be honest tell me who can beat the Chinatown price? No one! LOL) Singaporean curry rice noodles are very good also as well as beef chow fun and fish clay pot. However, the service as agreed by other reviewers would be rather slow because there’s only “one man army” who is a nice young lady who tries her best to wait a total of twenty-five tables of guests from hosting, ordering, cashiering and cleaning. Personally, I always help her to clean up after I eat as I would be considered a regular as I visit there at least biweekly or once a week. Enjoy your meals at Cafe New Honolulu!

Their Thing Kong style milk tea is so good, hot or cold. Very rich of tea flavor not bitter and creamy. Highly recommend. For the hot one, they o my out tea and condensed milk, for me personally I like it sweeter, so I usually asa another half bag of sugar. The baked pork chop over rice was so good, large portion too. 2 pieces if pork chops over some egg fried rice, with tomato sauce on top! Wish they add some corn to the rice, a sunny side up egg on top, and some cheese? That would make it perfect. The rice noodle is very plain, no d of thick too, will not get it again. They close on Monday. It would get busy during breakfast and lunch hours.

The meat in the Singaporean fried rice noodles is not fresh at all; the strong flavor of the curry powder cannot mask the stench. Moreover, customers are forced to tip, which is a very impolite practice. I will definitely not return to this restaurant again.

The food was horrific, honestly surprised this place is open to the public. Expected quality food, however it was disgusting. We ended up leaving and eating elsewhere. Our food came out cold, and not all at once. My son got his meal first and about 10 minutes later the rest of the dishes started to come out. One by one, appetizers and drinks came after our meal. No water, nothing. We didn’t complain we just paid for our meal and left. There really was no point in complaining they really weren’t paying enough attention to us to care.
