Café in the Woods

We had breakfast here. It was well cooked and delicious, and huge. Excellent value for money, and they are so friendly. Highly recommended!

Found this little gem after a google search travelling back to Watford from St Albans. Everything was perfect, meal size, food quality, staff smiling makes a really difference. Have told everyone that will listen since and will defo use again

Really nice cafe but a little expensive if you build your own breakfast. Good quality sausage and bacon and the fried slice was top. Real brown sauce too. What’s not to like!

Went in here for the first time this morning with my friend had 2 breakfasts and coffees the food was lovely and the staff so welcoming and friendly very hard to find a proper Old Skool cafe this day and age cheers guys see you soon 👍🏼

Last Friday went for a late lunch around 3.00pm. The Cafe does breakfast and lunch and stays open until 4.00pm. It is simple in its layout, but the food and service is just excellent. I had an omlette with salad and a Cafe mocha with cream and every was just fantastic. The food was also served 10 minutes after ordering. Very impressive. Wished it stayed open longer than 4.00pm

So I forgot the clocks went back on this day 🙈and we had rushed out of the house to get to the birthday party we were hosting at paintball Watford St. Albans that Sunday morning. After we had a good laugh, the gentleman told me where we could get breakfast and basically chill out as I was a full hour early. Bricket Wood Cafe was the closest option he mentioned and I’m glad we got a nice hot breakfast there. Service was quick, staff were friendly and the food was good. We also had jam on toast but forgot to take a picture 🙈 Anyway, I would totally recommend them. It’s a nice cosy place and a lot of people were out to have breakfast there which says a lot.

Excellent breakfast/brunch after an enjoyable walk. The only reason I have given 4 stars is that I would like to see a fried slice on the menu. Food was cooked to perfection, served up hot by the table waiting staff.

I had the full English, this came with 2 eggs and 2 sausages, but the sausages are what I call mini sausages, I assume if you ordered the smaller breakfast you get 1 mini sausages), so you not getting 2 sausages, what I normally expect. The wait was a bit longer than I normally expected, but wasn’t busy. The cafe is clean and bright, parking not too bad, but prices are higher than usual cafes. I just think overall, there are better places within a 5 miles radius, which offers a bit more value for money.

Good food, with slightly better than average quality. Prices are a bit more expensive though.. I've had lots of breakfasts there and all great.. had the chicken curry recently and it was pretty plain, needed more flavouring and spices..

I had been in the cafe nearly 40minutes until my breakfast was served, places like this are normally for people on the go. There were more employees than customers when I went in and still took 40mins to get my order and still one sausage missing.

Sausages, Bacon & Black Pudding were premium quality but the Bubble was inedible. I reckon they did it in a food processor. The Breakfast came with a slice of toast. Tea was extra. £17.10. Indian music banging out at 08.30 in the morning. I have a photo but can't work out how to post it.

Absolutely awful service, a 6 of us went in for breakfast, everyone else was served unbelievably slowly, mine didn’t turn up, when I questioned it they’d obviously forgotten mine but instead of an apology they made up an excuse of power going down! If they’d apologised fine, had to leave they charged me for a breakfast that was left on the table 50 minutes after I’d ordered it.
