Kingston Tropical Bakery is one of my go to spots for patties especially when paired with their cocoa bread. The bread is soft, fluffy, and buttery, and goes perfectly with the warm, flavorful patties. I also tried the carrot cake loaf, which was very good moist, well spiced, and just the right amount of sweetness. The line can look long sometimes, but it moves very quickly. Definitely worth the stop!

Ok this was a really good patty but definitely wasn’t the best in my opinion. With that being said if I’m in the area I’ll definitely be back to grab a quick cheap bite. pro tip get one coco bread for every 2 patties it’s the best combo. I feel a whole bread too much but half a bread with one was amazing. Loved it. Some people say it’s worth the travel I think it’s a local gem if you in the area definitely check it out just remember cash only and $4 a patty and $2 I think it was for the coco bread Delicious

Kingston Tropical Bakery is the real deal. If you’re from around here, you already know — their patties are unmatched. That crust is flaky, buttery, perfect every time. Seasoned just right, a little spicy but not crazy. You grab one fresh out the oven and it hits different. Coco bread is a must — soft, pillowy, straight up comfort food. Throw a patty inside and boom, you got yourself a whole meal. They move quick too, so even if there’s a line, you’re not waiting long. It’s one of those Bronx staples — no frills, no gimmicks, just good food that always delivers. If you’re in the area and never had a Kingston patty, you’re seriously missing out.

I honestly don’t know where to begin. The lady who helped us was so kind and welcoming. I’ve tried their meatloaf, beef patty, veggie patty, and chicken patty, all of them were AMAZING! The spice fruit bun was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend 👌🏽 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow! It has been 29 years since I last visited the area, and of course, I had to stop by the best Jamaican bakery in the Bronx. It still tastes amazing! Thank you for maintaining your incredible quality all these years!

Delicious food baked fresh. I’ve been going to them for decades & It’s worth the trip. I especially enjoy their patties and coco bread. I even have sent to my friends in other states. They love it. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about the atmosphere/location. If you’re new to the area, watch yourself.

Jamaican Patty Cravings = Satisfied! Came here after work, and let me tell you—worth every bite! This spot is small, just like it looks from the outside, but they know what they’re doing. Quick, easy service had me in and out in no time. I got a chicken patty and a beef patty—both hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. Added coco bread because that’s the only way to do it right. After this meal, I was ready for a nap but had no regrets. Things to note: Cash only Parking is rough They only carry chicken, beef, and veggie patties—so plan accordingly!

My first time trying coco bread with beef patty. Very interesting though to me to have the beef patty inside the coco bread. But it works good together. Their beef patty got good spice in it. Definitely good beef patty to get. They do closed at 4 and line can be long out to the door.

CASH ONLY. Came here early on a Sunday just for beef patties. I had chicken, beef, and veggie. The veggie one was actually the spiciest. It was stuffed cabbage and carrots. Fresh. Not. Really good. 3.50/patty. Coco bread was so soft and delicious. Will def be coming back.

There’s a lot of social media buzz about this place and many food reviewers have been giving it the “best Jamaican beef patties” title. I think that’s open for debate. The beef patties were good, but I can’t distinguish a huge rating difference between KTB and other West Indian bakeries that have developed loyal followings. I tried the beef patty with coco bread, beef patty by itself, and meatloaf (beef patty filling baked inside a coco bread exterior). Everything for me, on a scale of 1 to 10 is high 8’s up to 9. Good, but not as great as the hype would have you believe. The place is cash only and cop ‘n go. There’s a park up the block where I went to sit down. It was real chilly today, but on a pleasant day it would be nice to eat some coco bread and a patty or two. I enjoyed their coco bread the most, reminded me of being a kid and my mom sending me to West Indian bakery to get fresh baked coco bread. Oddly enough, KTB was closed when I first arrived so I winded up trying a spot down the block. This place only had patties, but I liked the spice level more than KTB and the patty exterior too. KTB had a flakier texture (which some prefer) but I liked the softer feel of the other bakery. If I could combine elements of both bakeries into one patty, that hybrid dream patty would be a 9.5 out of 10, easily.

I came in today after moving away from the city, to pick up patties for my pregnant daughter. I ordered and paid for 6 patties and 4 coco bread and only received 4 patties. Not happy because I don't know when I'll be back. The patties are still good, though.

Inconsistent amounts of filling in "meatloaf" (cocobread with beef patty filling) I went one time and they were amazing. I raved from NYC to SC about them, and had family asking me to freeze and mail them some. Well I returned for a 2nd visit ordered 7 meatloaf and 6 "chicken" patties. I received meatloafs with very little filling and 6 "beef" patties. I want to support, and hope this doesn't happen again.

UPDATE❗ I've been here several times now and the patty has definitely changed since the very first time eating it. I'm not sure what a people are tasting but its no where close to a authentic Jamaican beef patty. First, the beef is sour and chewy I don't know who's making the beef back there. The crust is not flaky, its tough. The meatloaf is not bad it could just use more beef, the coco bread is pretty decent aswell. The customer service was good. The beef patties was pretty good, I was more impressed with the coco bread it was delicious, the closest to the taste in Jamaica. However meat of loaf was lacking just a little bit but I would definitely go back again.

This is probably the worst beef patti I have ever had. Primarily, the outside layering was a no for me. Beef patties are supposed to be flaky. This wasn't what i expected. Although the filling was spicy and delicious the outside was not edible. I will not be back. I'll try Champions down the street and that will determine if NY folks know how to make patties.

The two guys in the front taking orders from the register were extremely rude. When I approached to place an order they were talking and made me wait five minutes before they took my order. The one with glasses was especially rude when I asked about the type of patties they had. The patty itself was dry and flavorless, they denied putting cheese on my patty while they clearly had it in the fridge. I highly recommend you stay away from this place unless you want horrible customer service
