Rabbit, I haven't yet bet to this one.Hopefully, I will make it there. If I this the summer period i'm not sure what time they open period but I know the inside is beautiful and I know the food is just as good as it is in saratoga restaurant.
Came here for dinner before a show at MVP arena. The food was excellent, the service great and a lively atmosphere.
Great service , food and drinks were definitely legit, not watered down at all. Amazing place.
The food is delicious and the staff is amazing and so kind. I highly recommend!
Amazing atmosphere and food was above reproach. Congrats and many well wishes. Staff was friendly and accommodating
The staff at the reception were fantastic! My wife and I had to rush out because of an emergency and the gentleman at the reception was very understanding and kind.
The food was fantastic. The atmosphere and service were equally fantastic. I'll definitely return.
Absolute pleasure! Beautiful place, sweet staff, yummy food!👍🏻
The service was excellent Food was so good. Definitely going back.
Warm welcome, beautiful space, and the fried chicken rocked. We will be back.

What a wonderful time I had with the great staff at the Hatties in Albany.
Very good food and atmosphere, amazing service
Bottomless Mimosas are delicious!
Great food and exceptional service!!
Great food in a great setting!
Great food, great service
Nice place but pricey.
Very good
Will be coming back.
Delicious food and friendly staff!!! We have always loved the Hattie’s in Saratoga and it is so wonderful to have one in Albany! The transformation and decor of this historic restaurant space is perfect! A great spot for a date or a business dinner! We can’t wait to go back!
YAY can now order online and delivery. No more scary parking lot:). Staff was very nice and good. Good fried chicken and crab cakes were excellent. Outside and by the parking lot is pretty scary:(. Lots of folks yelling, walking in the middle of the road and hanging out at all the abandoned buildings next and across the street from Hattie's.
I was recently in the Albany area for work and heard from a friend about Hattie's opening the week before. From the moment I walked in, it had a special feel. The atmosphere within the restaurant had a great vibe to it. The staff were very friendly and responsive. The food was great and served promptly. The next time I'm back in the area, this will be a must-stop for me!
My father Lester Grimmell used to bring me here during his lunch break when it was known as Lombardo’s. My father was Chief Executive of The NYS Insurance Department Complaint Division until 1999. I recently visited Hattie’s Restaurant that took over the space. I was taken aback with the nostalgia that was kept in the renew of the establishment. Going forward, sitting at the bar to eat dinner was a most enjoyable experience. We were delighted to discover Sara our bartender with her expertise in creating the cocktails specific to your palate. The jambalaya was incredible and true to form, actually better than I had in many years. We will definitely be back often. ❤️
A must go to for brunch! The best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. Also the Belgium waffle is to die for. Amazing flavor and syrup. ❤️
The food is deeeeeeeelicious and genuine southern food. Kudos to the chef and staff for being so attentive. Wonderful place to eat. I will be coming back again and again and again. I love it too much!!!!
Had dinner there last night and it was excellent. This is the location of the former Lombardo's restaurant on lower Madison Avenue. This is a new Albany location of the legendary Hattie's in Saratoga Springs, which has been serving up southern fare since the early 1930s. There is off-street parking next to the restaurant and in a lot directly across the street. Ambiance inside is lively and the renovations in the space kept many of the old Albany elements with a mix of New Orleans, all updated and welcoming. The cocktail I had - a Vieux Carre - was mixed to perfection. Jambalaya, grit cakes, key lime pie all outstanding. Friends had the famous fried chicken and the ribs - rave reviews. Excellent service. Highly recommended.
Short and sweet... Fried Chicken at its absolute best... right here!!! Great menu... crazy delicious food... very reasonable prices! My wife and I can chow down like 2 truck drivers and we went home with "doggie bags"... portions are huge and the sides ( we had cheesey grits, collards, and Cole slaw) are not only delicious too, but also come in large portions in separate dishes. Great food... great service... great people... nuff said!
Feels like an old-timesie place with friendly staff and tantalizing soul food brunch that makes it hard to choose just one item. Basket of briskets are slammin. Kid friendly. Street parking is easy.
Opening night was a wonderful experience at Hattie’s Albany. We enjoyed this new addition to the Albany restaurant scene. A bit of a Saratoga feel here in Albany. I recommend you try the Hush Puppies appetizer.
Wonderful dinner- tasty- Excellent service and kind owner. Such a classy place- nice decor- VERY clean and easy parking. Perfect anniversary celebration!
Fantastic food ! Perfect fried chicken , great crust and quality chicken underneath the crust ! Yummy buttery mashed potatoes and very good Cajun coleslaw , not too spicy . I’ll be back !
Great atmosphere with the new location of an historic southern fried chicken restaurant in a landmark location. Excellent food, service, and hospitality. "Hattie sure knows how to do chicken"
The fried chicken was insanely delicious. And the Jambalaya was the best I ever had and easy to share. 10/10 on the Hatties scale.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time and meal at Hattie's. Wonderful service and great food.
Catfish was awesome! Company with me order mac n cheese and they said it was fantastic!
a great place with great food. our server was super nice. we will return again soon!
Wasn’t sure what to expect after reading some of the mixed reviews, but the meal was excellent. Biscuits and cornbread were warm and delicious. Shrimp and grits very spicy but great flavor. Fried chicken was crisp and well seasoned. Spareribs were smoky and flavorful. Drinks were great, too. If you have any concerns about location, you shouldn’t. Street parking right at entrance, or private lot directly across the street. Ambiance inside is lovely. Place deserves to be crowded every night.
We were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly . We loved the mood the ambiance created . It had interesting touches and a modern old world vibe. Our food was delicious , I went for the Hattie’s chicken sandwich. Delish! It came with small chopped potatoes with a Parmesan topping . Tasty! The parking was right in front of the restaurant . Sunday afternoon. Hattie’s donates all its profits to charity which we found most impressive .
Atmosphere is fantastic....cozy and cool, food is incredible, students are the best.......the whole package! Get the short ribs if on the menu when you go ❤️
Listen, if you’re looking for a great meal, such as shrimp and grits and a pecan pie dessert , this is definitely the place to come to. Soon as I walked in, I felt the great ambience. My waiter chynna she treated me like family. The manager Scott and his team is incredible. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be returning. Thank you for the great hospitality HATTIES IN ALBANY. There is a waiter who has glasses and dreads pinned up. He really make you feel welcomed on the walk in. His intro and the way he speaks to you, makes you feel like you belong. Thank you once again!!!
Hattie's Birthday Brunch Review: 5/5! Fantastic food (French toast, fried chicken, grits, sausage ), friendly staff, generous gestures (complimentary cake, drinks, extra food). One of my best birthday dining experiences! Highly recommend!"
What a beautiful little spot! Host & waitress were extremely welcoming, all of the staff were very friendly. The food was amazing, I got the friend chicken, mashed portatos and savory collared greens. Perfectly cooked perfect night! Highly recommend
First visit, Sat Jan 18, 2025, to the newer Hattie's restaurant in the famed Lombardo's location at 121 Madison Ave, Albany, NY. This is their 2nd location, the original in Saratoga Springs was opened in 1938 by Ms Hattie & Jasper. Made reservations for us via Open Table online. It was easy with prompt confirmations. Note: this is a cashless business. Also two parking lots & on street parking. Host station had our reservation and we were seated immediately. Water & menus right away. We ordered drinks when all of our party arrived. We started with great thin sliced fried green tomatoes ($21). Dinners were Hattie's signature fried chicken (2-($24) or 4 ($28) pieces, small upcharge for all white meat, with choice of 2 sides. Sides can also be ordered ala carte - crispy brussels sprouts, collard greens, potatoes, mac & cheese, rice & beans, coleslaw-sweet or spicy. Also the fried catfish - crispy cornmeal coating with spicy coleslaw, hush puppies, & house hot sauce ($26). All dishes were served hot, well presented, and the great smell hits before the first bite. I think Miss Hattie would approved. Many Southern & New Orleans favorites are offered including biscuits, gumbo, jambalaya, po'boys, oysters (MP), Our server Matthew was excellent, answering all questions & checking on our table as needed. Dinner for three with one drink each, tax & tip was $155. A good value for authentic Southern cuisine in the Capital District. For those that remember the famous Lombardo's the bar side with the boots & the dining room are the same layout, but the decor, see the wall mural honoring Ms. Hattie & some other touches are great. Also there is a rear room to reserve/rent for parties, meetings, etc. A great first visit. Kudos to the staff & kitchen. We will be back. Thank you. Nick, Liz, & Lauren, Albany, NY
Went on a Thursday night. Staff were really great. Food was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Owner/chef Jasper introduced himself and was appreciative that we were there. The summer season is slow for them so i suggest if you want great food, this is a good time to head to Hatties.
I am beyond impressed with this restaurant. The service is excellent. Everyone is sweet and friendly. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The food, omg, the food is soooo goooood! We got generous portions. Everything was delicious and just like a homemade meal. If you're in the area, you have to try Hattie's. Easily, one of the best, if not THE BEST, restaurants in town.
Hattie's in Albany is the real deal. The food was excellent. Our server, China, was kind, courteous, friendly, and professional. We will be back very soon. The fried chicken is incredible. The corn bread and biscuits are unbeatable. Couldn't help feel that we were in New Orleans.
Hattie's Albany met all my expectations and more! The atmosphere, the service, and the food were all amazing! The pork chop was among the best I ever had. Both my husband and I cannot stop talking about the donuts in the sundae. We can't wait to go back!
Had a lovely birthday dinner tonight. The staff are very friendly & accommodating. The waitress was a doll. The food was delicious. Cocktails, yummy! Looking forward to coming back!
Phenomenal establishment and staff. Drinks were on point and the food was beyond amazing. If you want real soul food this is it. Definitely a 10/10. This is a hidden gem and by far one of the best restaurants in the 518 area!
A must-go for genuine Southern food in Albany ) and of course Saratoga Springs too--the original location. The space is great , excellent cocktails and service, lovely bar, large portions and authentic. You can't go wrong!
Coolest vibe, delicious food, amazing cocktails, best service! Can’t wait to go back, and would go for just drinks at the bar. Party of 7- and everyone was blown away! Next time I want to go for brunch :)
I have had the pleasure of going to Hattie’s for a private event last week, and dinner this week. I am blown away by the food. The flavor, presentation, price, portion size 10/10. The service was incredible, and the decor is absolutely beautiful, love the wallpaper and the overall vibe. Also love the SEAT Center organization and everything they stand for. Passion and love clearly comes out in the food!
We were greeted in the parking lot by a gentleman with an umbrella, who walked us to the entrance, and we were hugged by a very nice lady at the front door. Our server, Malachi was excellent. He was very personable and attentive. The food was delicious as well as the drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and we’re happy to promote this restaurant that helps young people learn the culinary industry. We had a very enjoyable evening, at a very reasonable price.
Made a super convenient reservation online for Sunday brunch. Luckily they have a dedicated parking lot across the street. The decor is fitting and funky and the restaurant is very clean. All staff we encountered were friendly and patient with us (as my friend and I took a couple hours to catch up.) I had the aperol spritz which was the just the type of light drink I was looking for. I got the Hattie’s 4 piece meal with home fries. What is there to say about the chicken? This is Hattie’s so the answer should be obvious; crispy and delicious and plentiful. Home fries are topped with cheese and green onions. Yum! Next time I’ll request extra green onion on top. My friend had the Cajun omelet with a side of sausage gravy and ate every bit. Highly recommend!
So very lovely. Kind and attentive staff. Quiet elegant atmosphere. Superb food. We tried the Brussels sprouts from the appetizer menu, Oysters Rockefeller, Fried Chicken with collard greens and grits, Fried Catfish with hush puppies and 2 sauces. Dessert we are trying the Southern old fashioned Coconut Cake, it is huge enough for two people. Ending our dinner with southern coffee.
I had an amazing birthday here. The staff in this restaurant went above and beyond to satisfy my birthday needs upon entry we were greeted. The staff all said happy birthday to me. We were the last to leave and they did not rush us. They even took our group pictures they laughed and joked with us. I had a reservation for a party of 7. A few people from our party was late. They made us feel at home and welcomed thank you to our server. Mathew and Devonte. I gave four stars for the food because the collard greens had way too much vinegar in them, the Hattie hurricane I had three of those, and I didn’t get quite the buzz that I was looking for, but other than that, it was great. but everything else was A1 We will definitely come back and visit again thank you for the superb customer service hats off to you all. It’s not an easy job serving the public.
A Charming Evening at Ms. Hattie's: Where Past Meets Present Located at 121 Madison Ave, Albany, NY 12202, Ms. Hattie's offers a delightful blend of 1930s charm and modern culinary excellence. My wife Casandra and I recently celebrated our first wedding anniversary at this gem, and the experience was nothing short of memorable. ## Ambiance From the moment we stepped through the green doors, we were enveloped in warmth. The decor - a tasteful mix of greens, plants, murals, paintings, mirrors, and instruments - created a homey yet sophisticated atmosphere. ## Drinks & Appetizers We started with the Back Porch Lemonade, a refreshingly light cocktail. The basket of fresh biscuits was a highlight, especially when paired with Dickinson's jam and honey butter. While the cornbread was a bit dry for our taste, the fried green tomatoes were a hit with my wife. ## Main Courses Casandra's Jasper's Mac & Cheese was a perfect blend of cheeses - rich without being overpowering. My Fried Chicken & Ribs Combo was a true delight. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection, boasting an ideal crispness and satisfying crunch with every bite. The ribs were equally impressive - delicious and not overpowered by excessive BBQ sauce, allowing the natural flavors to shine through. The dish came with excellent skin-on mashed potatoes and country gravy. The candied yams were delicious, though I prefer them a bit softer. A word of caution on the collard greens - they have a strong vinegar flavor that might not appeal to everyone. ## Sweet Finish The restaurant surprised us with a complimentary Key Lime Pie for our anniversary. This dessert was a true standout - substantial yet light and bursting with flavor. ## Service Our waiter, Matthew, was knowledgeable and offered great recommendations. Chef Jasper Alexander's personal touch of visiting tables to gather feedback showcased the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction. ## Overall Impression Despite minor hiccups with some side dishes, our experience at Ms. Hattie's was overwhelmingly positive. The combination of charming ambiance, delicious food - particularly the standout fried chicken and ribs - and attentive service makes it a perfect spot for special occasions or a lovely night out. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐️ (5 stars)
Everything was fantastic! The Capital martini was the best martini I’ve ever had. We ordered the crispy brussel sprouts, sausage boudin balls, Nashville hot chicken, jambalaya and the dessert sundae with the most incredible donuts. I can’t wait to come back!
Most flavorful fried chicken I've had from a restaurant! The potatoes weren't anything to write home about, but the omelet was worth having again.
Hattie's in Albany, NY, offers a delightful blend of southern cuisine and charm. From the moment we stepped in, the warm welcome and prompt seating set the tone for a memorable evening. The appetizers, including hushpuppies, biscuits with maple butter, cornbread, and a flavorful vegetable medley, were all executed to perfection. The entrees were equally impressive, with standout dishes like the creamy mac and cheese, crispy chicken and waffles, and the flavorful jambalaya. Located in the historic Old Lombardo's restaurant, Hattie's blends southern charm with classic style, creating a unique atmosphere. The mission of Hattie's adds depth to the dining experience, making it more than just a meal but a journey worth embarking on. Parking is available in the rear, and reservations are recommended for a seamless experience. The friendly and energetic staff, including our server who went above and beyond, added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Hattie's is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience that will leave you craving more.
Such a cute spot, the food was PHENOMENAL. The cornbread and biscuits were so good, catfish was fried perfectly, hushpuppies were so tasty. My husband had Jaspers Mac and that was wonderfully made as well! The sugar cane in my mocktail was a nice touch too. And staff were so friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back here!
My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Hatties before heading to The Egg Theatre. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was great.
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Such a friendly atmosphere when we walked in and we even left with a free bottle of hot sauce :)
Absolutely Outstanding!!!! So different from the Saratoga location, which we love! Upscale but not presumptuous…beautiful interior…like the Roosevelt in New Orleans. Staff and Servers are very attentive, polite, and pleasant. The food was on point! Delicious and generous portions! We had the fried chicken, of course…delish! The shrimp po boy was huge with huge shrimp. Side dishes were meals in themselves…light mashed potatoes full of flavor. The collared greens had so much flavor and smoke turkey! The yams could have been dessert! Plus we indulged with biscuits and corn bread. I wish they sold the peach preserves to go. The proprietor came to greet and graciously gave a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary! The place is soooo conveniently located…easy on easy off 787. We live in Cobleskill…more than worth the drive. There is a large and convenient parking lot across the street. We had a lovely time and look forward to our return. What a profound improvement to the downtown Albany dining scene!

This place is AMAZING. Beautiful Venue, Great Customer Service, and the food is DELICIOUS. Order whatever you like, and you will not be disappointed. ENJOY 😊
We were fortunate to have been able to visit right after their reopening in conjunction with Seat Center. The staff were warm and inviting, serving up delicious food and drinks. Everything was fresh, tasty and well prepared. Loved the grilled romaine starter, fried chicken and apple galette.

Great stop! Excellent service. Make a reservation for brunch
Yummy Mint Julep! Cool tunes!
Great experience. I took my sister there for her 60th birthday and she enjoyed herself. I would recommend getting the chicken livers and the grits
Hot chicken sandwich and Cajun fries were on point. Spicy, but not trying to hurt you and overpowering the other flavors.
I did takeout. The service was prompt, the food was tasty. Chicken and waffles, deviled eggs.
Great Atmosphere,Great Food and Drinks w/ excellent service. I recommend everyone to support this experience. Respect Mike Grady Albany NY
Place is closed during the week, but a gentleman who worked inside came out, explained the restaurant has been converted into a culinary school of sorts. Place looked nice and historic. Can't rate the food since it eas closed.
Went here for Easter brunch. Server seemed like she didn't want to be there. Asked about menu items and she did not know the answers. Beignets were dense and not beignets. Bloody Mary was watered down, crab cake Benedict were delicious, strawberry stuffed french toast wife loved and son devoured the biscuits and gravy. Will try again and hopefully get a better server.
My friend and I tried Hattie's mostly because I used to love Lombardo's and was curious about the new restaurant in its location. We made reservations and, due to bad traffic, called to ask if they could be pushed back a half an hour; we were kindly accommodated. On arrival, we were greeted with a hearty welcome by Devonte (sp?) and other staff and quickly guided to our table, where a young waiter who seemed new/unsure did his best. My friend raved about the catfish, and I was particularly impressed with the obviously fresh mashed potatoes and delicious dirty rice. The water was served in very small (juice) glasses and we quickly had to find the waiter to ask for more. The fried chicken was good, but nothing particularly special. The triple chocolate swiss roll dessert was yummy and the coffee was well-balanced and fresh. Just after we left, Devonte called me to say I had left my credit card, so we returned quickly. I was particularly impressed with this kind gesture - and the demeanor of the staff in general, who seemed genuinely happy to have us there. Thank you - we will likely return.
The food and desert were delicious. My family and I were welcomed with a reservation promptly. Nice touch for the host to come and ask how was our food. The Louisiana influence cuisine is over flowing with southern hospitality. We’ll be back!
The atmosphere was great, the lighting made it feel very lounge like and comfortable. The drinks were strong. The menu has a variety of choices including vegetarian options. The chicken and waffles were a good little bite to snack on.
Update to this review: I was contacted by management at Hattie’s shortly after our visit and they were very apologetic about our experience and asked if we would be willing to join them again, on the house, to try to “make things right” as we say. Being from South Carolina, I said I really didn’t know when I’d be returning to New York but I’d reach out when I did. So when a trip back was set for early August, I reached out and asked if the offer was still on the table — yes it was. So we returned for dinner one night and our experience was very different this time. The manager explained to me that there were difficulties with the original “back operation” when they opened, and they made some adjustments and assured us our experience would be very different. I had the chicken and waffles and it was delicious. It’s served with a generous side of hot honey maple syrup that was a perfect addition to the crunchy chicken and the softer waffle. My companions tried the chicken sandwiches again and both said they were very good, crunchy outside with a juicy interior. Just how it should be. Our sodas and ice tea were served in a more reasonable size glass (the juice glass fiasco is kinda funny now) and the refills are free. Our server was attentive, professional, and had a good sense of humor. Same with the host stationed at the front door. Very nice young men. So overall, I’ll say Hattie’s fully redeemed themselves, and I would return any time. I’d like to say thank you to the management for caring enough about their business and their customers to actually address situations that were less than ideal. So many businesses today take us for granted, and really couldn’t care less. Hattie’s is definitely different. I wish I had taken some photos of the meals this time, but I was just too busy enjoying it! Next time…. Here is the original review for background: Three of us went for dinner the other night. The place is decorated nicely and looks brighter than the old Lombardo’s. Nice job there. The staff are all dressed professionally and served us well. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive ends. First, the drink (think soda) glasses were really juice glasses. We had to have ours refilled three times and were still thirsty. Get rid of those and get some real glasses, especially at the price you’re charging. And I couldn’t believe we were charged for every refill!!! The glasses are 6 or 8 ounce at best, but filled at the bar to the top with ice cubes. That leaves three sips of soda per glass. Not good, and when we found out we were charged over $31 for these 9 tiny glasses of Pepsi, well, let’s just say that ruined it all for me. As far as the Jambalaya goes, that was decent according to my friend. The roasted Brussels sprout appetizer was very good. I did not like my chicken sandwich, beyond a great, crunchy coating there was a chewy thigh. I don’t know if that’s truly a southern thing, because I’m down south now and every chicken sandwich I’ve gotten down here has been breast meat. So for $20 for a chewy thigh sandwich? No again. Bottom line it cost us $140 with tip for a couple sandwiches, an appetizer, a serving a jambalaya and Pepsi’s. This doesn’t work for me, there’s way better meals at far lower prices than this. Good luck, but I don’t see Hattie’s surviving in Albany. And we won’t even talk about the neighborhood at night.
Place is closed during the week, but a gentleman who worked inside came out, explained the restaurant has been converted into a culinary school of sorts. Place looked nice and historic. Can't rate the food since it eas closed.
First off from everything I've heard about the other locations I think this location is still working out some kinks. I love the decor. Some of the foodb was delicious (collards, rice & beans, Brussel sprouts) and some was terrible (fried oysters). My wife's dinner came out 20 minutes after money, I think I got the wrong order originally as it was missing the fried chicken and the appetizer showed up after the entrees. The bartender was a sweetheart. The rest of the staff very accommodating. Seems mostly like a kitchen issue which I am sure once they have a bit more experience will beuch better coordinated. Give it time and this place will rock!
Card only, no change for cash paying customer 😭 Forgot I was in NY state, should have known better on the " southern" cooking 😔, wine in the collard greens really!!!!! Overall the food was good 👍
I went to Hattie's for the second time at 4:00 when they opened I ordered the chicken sandwich I asked the waiter is it a chicken breast oh he said yes but instead I got a thigh on a roll which was somewhat unseasoned it came with french fries but the waiter did not tell me that beforehand wish I could have swapped out the fries for something else like a salad I want to like their food but menu is very limited
Great vibes and ambiance. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Exceptional cocktail selection and every one we tried was outstanding. The chicken sandwich was only ok. I would maybe give it a second chance and try a different menu item.
food cost to high, and food taste not that great!!
If our server wasn’t as great as she was, I would be giving this place 0 stars. That aside, the food was so disappointing. We ordered the biscuits&cornbread as well as the oysters to start. Right off the bat, the oysters were dry(?) It’s like they drained the brine from each oyster. It made eating the oyster so awkward. I’m honestly not sure why anyone would decide to drain the brine. The biscuits&cornbread were undersalted and stale. For entrees we ordered the catfish and nashville hot chicken. The catfish was RAW. Like, the middle of the catfish was just completely raw. The nashville sandwhich was weirdly sweet and soo greasy, and the roll it came with was just awful. Dry and stale, it was easily falling apart. We ordered the brussel sprouts and mashed potato’s for the side. They were… subpar at best. Undersalted, and way too much butter. I’m surprised half of these dishes made it past the kitchen. These mistakes were all easily avoidable. I don’t want to completely rule out Hattie’s, as I know they just opened, but I will say there is an immense amount of room for improvement. The one positive is how great our waitress was, she was incredibly apologetic and sweet. If it wasn’t for her, I would not have walked out of there as calmly as I did. The manager took both our entrees of the bill, but said nothing to us personally. I will be back in a few months with hope for redemption as they figure out their new opening. Hattie’s- you have so much potential, but severely missed the mark.
Unfortunately this is not equal to Hattie’s of Saratoga. My wife and I love eating @Hattie’s in Saratoga and tonight our meal from the Albany Hatties was nothing close to Saratoga. We cannot recommend this version of Hattie’s.
I recently dined at the new location. Great atmosphere and decor. While the service was slow, understandable as our server was on her first day, the food was decent, though I would have preferred more seasoning. The collard greens were a highlight. Drinks were on point. We're willing to give it another shot, hoping for a better experience next time.
My son and I really enjoyed the fried chicken and the sweet tea. The glasses are extremely small so once you take a sip , the drink is gone 😩. You definitely get a large portion of food. We ended up packing up half of our meals to bring home.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. The waitress was amazing, but the food was extremely bland.
I’m very disappointed in Hattie staff. I thought I was having the best Father’s Day brunch until I noticed everyone who came in after us was being served and we was just sitting and waiting. After 45 minutes of waiting for our food, I ask for our order to be take out instead and within 5 minutes our food arrived in package.
Horrible experience. Was seated and a waitress took our drink order. 20+ minutes later, no drinks. Lame excuse given about the bar being behind due to paper tickets. Walked out.AWOT
LIES LIES AND MIRE LIES IM READING THE REVIEWS THE STAFF OR OWNER MUST BE WRITING THIS GARBAGE FIRST OF ALL The server was a excellent Gentleman yes ma'am no ma'am I forgot his name but I think it starts with a D BUT THE FOOD was the WORSE UNSEASONED OILED MAC AND CHEESE I had in my WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE it was called JASPER Mac & cheese with the option of chicken bacon or sausage I choose chicken thinking I'm going to have a leg and breast or some part of the chicken nooo they cut up pieces of chicken that didn't even taste like chicken poor miss Hattie may she rest in peace turning over in her grave knowing they did her recipes like this no seasoning not cheesy no yellow cheese some white cheese and oil I threw the damn thing out I payed over $60 including a tip and they are more expensive then the one in Saratoga I brought my aunt some chicken and fries she said her fries was soft and the chicken was unseasoned my god daughter 8 years old and can fry chicken better then that with crispy fries and when I call all I get is a voicemail to leave a message I'm still waiting for a response I posted videos and pics on my social Media 😡🤬 I wish I can post my pics and video on here but it's no option
We arrived at 6:25 for 6:30 reservations to say it would be a 10 to 15 minute wait. People arrived after us and were seated before us. They had a reservation for 5 and went down to 3. Also we were then told we would have a 45 minute wait. This is totally unacceptable as we have tickets for an event at 8. Asked to speak to the manager and was told he was in the kitchen and would be out in a few minutes. We waited until 6:53 and he said he might be able to seat us but not sure. I would think twice about making reservations as they really don’t matter. Total confusion and not sure if they are coming or going. They lost my business.
I should have known there was a reason we were able to get a reservation at Hattie’s 2 days before the Stevie Nicks concert on 6/12/2024 As non drinkers we ordered water and a soft drink. The tap water was undrinkable. Our server, K suggested we get a bottle of Saratoga water. Being from Saratoga this is not something we get excited about Our server said u could split a bottle or each get one. Since I like sparkling and my husband likes still we each got one. Our server, K, brought out 2 quart sized bottles , opened, at $10 each Not wanting to argue. We kept it. Yes! $20 for water Our food was blah. I ordered Southern Cobb salad with grilled chicken. No taste to the chicken My husband ordered Mac and Cheese with chicken. It was tasteless and gummy. We asked if we could have beignets. No chocolate or Carmel sauce, please. Just the beignets. The server had to be sure they could be served plain? Meanwhile she hovered while we ate Asking if we were all good Shortly after the beignets we both be came ill Seriously, the I am going to vomit type I attempted to use the main dining room restroom, which is located in the main dining area between 2 booths Not a good place to fall ill I really think the two bottles of over priced Saratoga water which arrived opened was handled poorly By K. What a rip off To top it off. We left without our costly water. Over priced. Mac and cheese, water and a salad over $80 Yes. I know it’s food for good. But come on??
