Always take my mom here when I'm visiting Albany. She loves the atmosphere, service and her Hot & Sour soup plus the sushi and avocado salad off my plate 😊

We have been going to Sake since the weekend it first opened. It's a great story, probably best told in person. We go there to eat and do take-out relatively regularly, and when they closed for much of April, we were sad. Got Take-out on Friday(5-8-20) and were so happy and it was so good, even by their usually high standards. It was what Ian Flemming called "a quantum of solace" in the plague times. Thanks Sake folks

BYOB place, $5 cork fee but that’s not bad to be able to bring your own bottle. The prices are good but the servings are much smaller than other places charging the same price, the location is in a nice quiet area, however it’s hard to find parking...

Sake Cafe is always a great place to eat. Their service is great and the staff is pleasant. We have been here more than a handful of times and definitely recommended them.

My local go-to for quality sushi. More expensive than the place a couple doors down, but worth it for the buttery salmon! I like to order the sushi deluxe, and their spicy tuna is great too.

Guaranteed Satisfaction! We have been dining here since it opened many years ago, either dine-in or takeout, and we are NEVER disappointed. There is something special about the sushi: it is always delicious, satisfying, and reasonably priced. The Thai and Chinese food is likewise dependable. The overall food quality is excellent, prices reasonable, and staff always helpful and considerate. Either Linda and her husband are always there, and both are so accommodating. The Sake Cafe slots in perfectly between very high-end (and expensive) dining, and quality takeout: great selection of food to choose from, nice atmosphere, outdoor tables in good weather, reasonable prices, owner-operated, and we never leave unsatisfied. All this results in us eating there on average 2 or 3 times a month since the day they opened. Their longevity at this location speaks volumes to what you can expect. If it is Asian food you crave, this is the place to go!!!

A great experience at this restaurant!! The food was beautifully plated and absolutely delicious!! And they have the best dumplings I have ever had! The chicken ramen I ordered was delicious, a large tasty bowl of soup perfect for a chilly Autumn day! It was very filling and I didn't even eat lunch before going so was pretty hungry at around dinner time, I did not need to eat at all any snacks after the walk home it was perfect in quenching my hunger. Definitely would order the ramen again! Also, the staff was friendly and the wait for the food in person isn't too long in my opinion it's perfect for a night out either for a date, on your own, with friends, or even out with family.

Friendly, attentive service, great food. Had tiger eye appetizer and it was beautiful and delicious. Hot and sour soup was excellent and crispy duck was good. Nice and crispy. Not quite as sweet as some places, but that's a good thing, and they were very good. Dh had drunken noodles and liked them but found them unspicy. I'd eat there again.

I'm usually not a fan of places that do multiple Asian foods because they tend to do it poorly, but this place somehow managed to get it right. We did a large pick up order. The place seemed nice inside - cozy. And the staff seemed friendly. The food was all delicious.

Great local asian fusion restaurant with great lunch specials. They have fresh sushi and a variety of pan asian kitchen items that are delicious. I recommend the drunken noodle, shrimp shumai, thai red curry, salmon avocado roll and spicy shrimp roll. Also the service is fantastic: May is Awesome! Hands down one of the best servers ever!

I frequented this restaurant about 8 years ago and went there for the first time after moving back to the area recently. The food and service is as great as I remember. I commonly get the very reasonably priced sushi/ sashimi lunch specials. The fish here has always been good quality, and they give you a nice assortment as well. It's a chef's choice assortment for those specials, and I've never been disappointed or felt cheated.

Excellent food! The Philadelphia roll is the best you will find in this area.....the salmon is rich with flavor and they put a perfect amount of cream cheese to pair with it. Great service too, will definitely be coming back!

I took my friends and their kids out for dinner and it was just lovely. One of their girls had vegetable rolls because she wanted to go vegetarian for this meal and they have a nice selection of regular and fancy rolls for her. Gozilla, White River, and Beef Negimaki were among the best dishes ordered. In and out in under an hour, fast, and delicious.

Stopped for lunch while traveling through Albany (I-87). Everything was fine, but what was worthy of high praise were the rolls, tuna and salmon. The rolls had mostly tuna and salmon, respectively, in them, not just slivers of fish that many modestly priced Sushi restaurants build their rolls around.

I had Pad Thai and Miso Soup for lunch, taste was great and fairly priced, will definitely come back

Not a pompous place, the atmosphere is dated - but nice. The food is delicious, well presented, and the staff is friendly. Not a big menu, but it’s got it where it counts. Prices are reasonable as well.

And I'm very picky she will tell you. Its hard finding places where I like food. And this place has delicious food. I got the Pad Thai rice and Crab and Shrimp sushi both were so good we got to go containers. I ate it the next day and it was still delicious. We will be going back to try everything else. I highly recommend to everyone ! Good service ! Good atmosphere! And great food!! 👏

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner and the food was amazing. We ordered a couple of appetizers, all of which were very tasty. Especially the egg rolls. I've been there a few times when I really needed a good dinner and they fill the bill every time. Their service is good, they make up good sushi and the ambiance is casual and friendly.

Stumbled across this place when our usually go-to next door was closed. Really fast service, not too packed when we went, and pretty good food too. There's a lot of vegetarian selections, bar and table seating, and street parking.

This is my absolute favorite Japanese food spot in Albany. The food is great and they deliver extremely fast. Unfortunately I ordered this Sunday and my food was extremely overcooked. My Gozilla Roll was inedible. I would recommend this place to anyone, but maybe only during the weeknights as I think they have someone different cooking during the day on the weekends.

I go here often Food and service are always good. Sushi is good and it's fresh. When the weather is nice you can sit outside on the sidewalk but right now Albany is doing construction on the sidewalk so sitting outside isn't as nice.

Tried this place after work tonight. The food in house was pretty good and it was pretty quiet since it was a Monday. I had crab rangoon and an octopus appetizer, which were great. I ordered two egg rolls to go and was disappointed when I took a bite later that night. They were a bit burnt and it just tasted off. I couldn't tell if maybe it was an old oil taste or the egg roll as a whole wasn't good. Aside from that, the food and service were good. Just stay away from the egg rolls.

My first time eating here tonight -ordered take out. Easy online ordering process. Parking was fine but I can imagine sometimes that it's tricky on busy nights because of the other bars and eateries on the block. Took about 20 minutes until pick up. Friendly staff. They gave me extra condiments. I ordered the pineapple fried rice, California roll, and crab rangoon. They were all delicious. Will order from there again :)

Service was good, but food was mediocre. Udon noodles were a bit greasy, and their only option for gyoza was shrimp.

Me and my foodie friend had heard about this place and wanted to try it out. We ordered pan fried dumplings which were awesome and spring rolls which were sub par for appetizers. Main course we ordered, chicken drunken noodles which was good, Thai fried rice which was too spicy, black pepper chicken which was too sweet and Thai basil shrimp which was too salty.Nice place, and cordial servers. I will definitely go back to try again.

i've been here three times. one of them was amazing, the rest have been so/so. i kind of averaged my experiences to get the grade. the quality of the fish is there, but the sushi dishes are put together rather hamfistedly, and usually have way too much in the way of sauces and garnish. the clean pure flavour that i look for is usually muddied down and heavy. i was lucky enough to be there twice when they had uni, which was treated w the respect it deserves

Meh. You'll likely be fine with sushi and the like, but our experience with a couple of noodle dishes (Drunken Noodle w/ shrimp and a Lo Mein w/ chicken) left a lot to be desired. I ended upthrowing the leftovers away. Bland, lacking any spiciness and flavor, and scant on ingredients (both dishes had zero vegetable content - I mean, they don't have to, but it breaks up a noodle dish with some color and contrast). The steamed dumplings were OK, but the dipping sauce had no soy and was straight up rice vinegar. Overall, will likely not patronize again.

I've tried the drunken noodle and fried rice from here. The fried rice was ok and average for the area. Don't expect too much The drunken noodle had so much oil and lacked good flavor.

The sushi 🍣🍣🍣 tastes ordinary. It's very small and dark inside. Nothing special. Compared to Ichibans... Ichibans taste wise... Ichibans is far better.

Went here for lunch. Miso soup tasted at least a few days old. Sushi quality was probably the worst I've had. The only napkin given at the table was taken back before I got to use it, makes me feel they intend to reuse it. The outdoor seating was a nice touch.

I placed an online order and went to pick it up 40 minutes later. When I got there the waitresses were dodging me when I tried to ask about my order. Finally, they tell me they STILL hadn’t made it. They had me waiting there for half an hour while they made my order. Will never order from here again

It has been numerous times I place an order online and they can’t locate the order. Their technology and service is so inferior. To make matters worse the quality of food has really been poor lately.

As a delivery person, they always make me feel un welcome. Always rude to me. And to my other delivery friends. Don’t know why, I walk in and tell them the name for pick up. Customer service is bad. I don’t recommend this place at all!

Food was good, prices were above average. Interior space was small and cozy, but that is about the only compliment I can give this place. About an hour after getting home my wife and I both got horrible stomach pain. I will spare everyone from the rough details, but let me say this, If you want to spend the rest of your night living in the bathroom, then rush over to this place! All the money we spent immediately went down the toilet and our nice relaxing evening turned into anything but that.

I made a review of this restaurant recently. In retaliation the owner accused me of being someone else. I am 67, I have no need to pretend to be anyone but myself at this point in my life. I became very intimidated by the owners response and lack of compassion. I deleted my post in fear. I am posting this so others can realize just how twisted and evil this owner must be. I urge anyone to avoid this place, hopefully ice will put this place out of business. Restaurant owners should not be intimidating elderly patrons. This was just wrong

Allergic to eel, wrote that into instructions very clearly, in capitals, so they decide to send me 2 containers of soy sauce and one of eel sauce all unmarked, writing on the container the eel sauce is to the side because of eel allergy. When I call to ask if that meant there's eel in the eel sauce I'm told "yes, there is eel in the eel sauce, so we didn't put it on the sushi in case you had an eel allergy". I HAVE AN EEL ALLERGY SO YOU SEND ME UNMARKED EEL??!! YOU SHOULD BE SUED!!
