Easily the best coffee shop in Cobble Hill
We dropped into this little place on a rainy morning and were immediately greeted by the friendliest feel-good vibes to put a smile on our faces. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here! Alongside our coffees we had the tomato hummus pastry and the Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookie - both were great, and would highly recommend! Thank you so much ladies - I’m so sorry I didn’t get your names, but it was awesome to meet you and we hope to be back again soon!
Favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood! Amazing vibe - it’s the kind of place that’s so friendly that you always seem to be striking up conversation with your fellow neighbors. The coffee is very good, staff is incredibly friendly - they know the names of all the regulars (including pups), dog friendly (they give the best treats - dehydrated organic chicken!), and great ambiance. 5 stars hands down!
The Barista was sooooooo friendly. She knows almost everybody that has come in a couple of times. You enter a place with a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the fastest barista I have ever seen. I had a latte and cappuccino both were good. Tasty croissants, try the everything pastry!
Cozy cafe with a pleasant barista. Interior design and personal touches create a plush and pink ambiance great for mid-morning idling. Cappuccino was great—only drawback was the unavoidable dearth of fresh whole milk in NYC.
The server was so nice and she was so fast with my order! Best chai in town and not too expensive (except tipping is a must so a little bit extra but everything was perfect) ambiance 20/10 so so fun
Not Octavia Butler's namesake as I had hoped, but good tea and really nice staff.
I felt sick while out for breakfast so came in to get some coffee and water to see if it would help. I ended up throwing up in the bathroom (not from anything I had here) and she was so sweet. Made sure I had ice water to drink and then gave me a ginger turmeric tea that really calmed my stomach. Loved the coffee and the service!
A perfect neighborhood coffee shop and the best cortados in Cobble Hill
Love this spot. The service is always friendly. Perfect espresso drinks and cold brew. Nice selection of fresh sweet and savory pastries. The outdoor seating is roomy and airy and cute. There's also some indoor seating for when you just don't want to be outside 😁
Not only is this coffee shop aesthetically adorable and cozy, but it feels like a place where time slows down. You’ll find neighbors knitting, reading the paper and maybe even having conversations with strangers. And to top it off, the golden milk latte is delicious.
Great coffee shop because it's owner run and cared for... Coffee and tea are great. Prices are good, and the snacks are great(believe she makes the cookies?). Diabetics: the cookies are great, but will sky rocket your sugar. Stagger doses of insulin- found this out the hard way.🫠
i had a great chai latte and spinach feta flaky pastry. friendly barista and cozy little spot. limited seating but most people were doing takeaway. dog friendly - much appreciated!
The barista was so kind! I highly recommend the scallion scone!!!
Best coffee shop in Cobble Hill Best coffee shop in Boerum Hill for the pink win!
Barista was as cheerful and wonderful as her coffee. She made me a Redeye and I do not think my soul has slept in 3 days. It was THAT good. I went a second time and asked if i could add lavendar. She made my day by saying yes and tweeked it to my liking. Honestly, i dont think the shop was officially open, but she took my order anyway. Many thanks for your kindness and coffee. I look forward to another few days without sleep.
Visited a few times and was BLOWN away by the quality of the drinks and amazing service. The food options are DELISH and the coffee beans they sell worked PERFECTLY in my at-home machine. They will even grind the beans for you upon request. I am very picky as an Italian woman who lived and Italy and this place exceeds expectations. Prices were fair as well and WORTH the time there! They had the cutest pride stickers and the shop itself is clean and beautiful! STOP READING AND GO ORDER YOUR COFFEE!!!!!
A tiny little spot where you can really tell the owner puts her heart into everything. She was incredibly kind and welcoming — the kind of warmth that makes you want to stay just a bit longer. The coffee? Spot on. The bakery treats? Deliciously rustic, like homemade with a pinch of love and a dash of charm. Perfect for a quick but memorable pit stop.
I am visiting New York from Alaska and I had the best experience getting coffee so far since being here. Max, was so sweet and welcoming and got my drink ready so fast. The prices are extremely reasonable considering this is NY! I will definitely tell everyone to come here if they end up visiting. I love that there is a wall for time cards that customers get to customize and after 10 visits you get a free drink. The pastries were so delicious, and I totally regret not getting those delicious looking cookies. The restroom was so clean as well! Thank you Octavia’s!!!
Love having a morning coffee at Octavia! The ambiance is sweet and inviting, the barista is super friendly, and it has a very nice neighborhood vibe. The chai is delicious. Love the concept of the notes. Will be coming again!
Just tried this spot that I’ve walked by a million times. Warmest vibes. I’d even go so far as to describe it as divine feminine energy in here which is a first for me. Will be back a lot more. Had a cappuccino that was delicious and perfectly balanced flavor.
Update: it is also one of the few places in the area which has coconut milk option, so i love it even more now. The service is always great and environment has a bit of nostalgic vibe. A cute neighborhood coffee and pastry place. Be ready to wait a bit a there is only one person doing everything. My matcha was very good. The outside sitting has a lot of space and is perfect for lazy people watching, inside has several tiny cute tables Came here 3 times already and am consistently enjoying this place.
Best espresso in the neighborhood. I mean…look at that cortado! Tastes as good as it looks. Super chill vibe. I go twice a week. And I live in Manhattan.
I don’t know how else to describe this cafe other than unexpected bliss and pure joy. I don’t live in the neighborhood but I bring my dog to the vet across the street so I stopped in this morning while waiting for him. So happy that I had the opportunity to experience the magic of Octavia. The barista/manager is an ANGEL who knows everyone by name and greets everyone with a smile. The positivity and great energy is infectious. There isn’t a single person who leaves without a smile. I would happily go out of my way and travel 40 mins just for this cafe. Come by - it’ll make your day!
Best cortado in Brooklyn! Paired with the peanut butter salted cookie… 🤤🤤 Super cute vibe inside and there’s outdoor seating as well.
Maybe my favorite cute little cafe in the area. Great service, great coffee, lots of regulars enjoying the great service and good coffee. Your coffee card here is an old time punch card!
Partner coffee, Bien Cuit pastries, friendly barista with solid skills, chic indoor deco and spacious outdoor sitting. What else can I ask for? Glad to see this lovely add-on to the neighborhood.
Delicious flat white and matcha latte in a super cute ambiance! This small cafe is so cute, and the barista is very kind and skilled. The egg and cheese croissant is to die for and different from anything I’ve tried before. I’ll definitely be coming back often!
Such a cosy cafe! I sat outside in the sun, it was so nice. I tried the mocha and pumpkin cake, loved it. Would come back!!
The best coffee shop in Cobble Hill, if not the whole Brooklyn. Coffee and pastries are highest quality, always fresh and yummy. The greatest atmosphere and vibes provided by Dionne, the barista who works at Octavia during weekdays. You want to meet her! ♥️ Plus the place is super dog friendly, they always have treats for my pup. Couldn’t recommend more! Highlight of my mornings 😌
This is an adorable coffee shop in Cobble Hill with a very friendly staff. Seems like a lot of people are regulars. The coffee was delicious and the decor was very appealing. We had a big group of us come one morning after a run and they had two staff there to accommodate us which we appreciated!

I moved away from the neighborhood a few years ago and still think about this coffee shop. My friends back in Brooklyn are sending me videos of the snow storm that’s happening right now and I all I can think of is how much I miss sitting in Octavia’s. Dione and her team became like family while I was a customer! So many great memories!
Popped in on our way home and had a very pleasant tasting coffee & Mocha and 2 fantastic Almond Croissants. Will be going again very soon and thanks for making us very welcomed.
The vibes here are perfect. The punch cards are my favorite thing! I love them!! The pink theme is also super cute. Iced oat lattes are pretty good, occasionally a little bitter for my personal taste. They have indoor and outdoor seating, dogs often come in and hangout at your feet which is cute. Highly recommend it here, draw on your little punch card its the best!!

Small little joint but super cute decor, and will let you sit indoors without a mask to enjoy your beverage; there’s only one small table indoors but there are a plenty more seating options outdoors. The menu can be a bit confusing to read and order from since there isn’t any pricing and some items are on the same line. I paid $5 for an iced vanilla latte that was basically all ice, but the amount of coffee I did get tasted great! Nice if you’re looking to support a local shop, but I’d probably ask for less ice next time :)
A tiny and charming coffee shop offering a selection of espresso based drinks. We tried the flat white and drip coffee, both of which were enjoyable.

I ordered a latte and got something more akin to a cappuccino, which is a pretty big miss as the milk texture is part of what makes a latte a latte. Also the place is very small and so you always have to be bumping in and walking around people to navigate the space. The door doesn’t close well so if a customer doesn’t close it, it will be very chilly to sit in there. And lastly, the seating is not comfortable. That being said, the decor is cute, they have a wide variety of options. The barista was nice. Perhaps for take away or a short sit, or their outdoor seating when it’s less cold. But with so many other options, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Hot or miss with the coffee. Got a $7 latte and it tasted meh. I’ve been here a few times a while ago but the coffee isn’t gold standard. Pistacho latte is a hard pass.

The service and atmosphere is very nice. The coffee itself though is very mid. The black coffee is kind of weak and the vanilla latte was very forgettable. The menu is written on a mirror and difficult to read and placed where you can’t see it when you walk in. Won’t be back, not sure why it has such high reviews…
So the place is cute, the service and coffee was good. My only "disturbance"is that the woman (the helper or owner) ledt the water faucet opened all the time! 😨😱 Wasting water like that is a no-no for me. So not environmentally friendly!
