Love the feel of the place and the back area’s skylight really sets the mood. Service was great and the dirty martini was perfect for someone who doesn’t like it too dirty. The calamari was top 5 for me. Gnocchi was fantastic as well.
The dishes at this place stand out! Quality food. Appealing atmosphere. The workers here have reinvented customer attention. This meal tasted fantastic. This venue satisfies completely.
I just started coming here 1 month ago but this is already one of my top 2 favorite places to come to in the area. The service, atmosphere and food is top tier. Any time I come through it’s either Alex, Dagmara or a combination of both that gives A1 service. If anyone is every in this area whether visiting or born and raised you are doing yourself a disservice by not stopping by this place. Amazing service, awesome atmosphere and the food is top notch. No one does pizza like them, So what are you waiting for? Give this place a visit not now but right now.
We rode our bikes over the Brooklyn bridge and chose this spot for a Sunday dinner. The service was impeccable, Dagmara the bartender helped us decide which items to order and the Master pizza is 1 of a kind! The eggplant app I will remember forever! We would absolutely eat here again!
Absolutely love the ambience especially at night! Romantic, low-lit setting. Food is amazing every time. Attentive staff. We’ve come here for each of our birthdays for the past 2 years and it’s always a pleasure. Management is super friendly and always participates in the birthday celebration.
my friend wanted to revisit another Italian restaurant, but I decided to try out Savelli. Didn't expect much apart from enjoying pizza, but we were amazed by all components. the food was fresh, down to the pesto I feel they put love into it. drinks were great, service was fast and inviting. Nothing to complain. Laura, Tony and Alex were stars. they actually let us stay after they were closed. talk about not rushing the customer. they really love their craft, it shows. We left feeling overly satisfied. definitely deserves a revisit.
When I first walked the restaurant has a big amount of space and is really beautiful . They offer brick oven pizza so their pizza crust is perfect. I started with margaritas which were preferred wonderfully. I had the Margherita VIP pizza and the calamari . It was amazing and their calamari was juicy and not at all dry . Everything is homemade and the marinara sauce was prepared really well. I ended with the Tiramisu. I will visit again . Servers and bartenders were attentive and friendly . Good experience
Another Secret Gem of Brooklyn NY, Lives on Smith Street! One of the most delicious brick oven pizza dough recipes I've ever tasted. When speaking to the manager,I complemented the flavor and texture of the pizza,He quickly hailed that it was an uncle who is a master pizzaolo in Italys recipe! Not only is the place as beautiful as being in an actual restaurant in Italy... but the staff and service is equally delightful as well. The entire menu... one dish more delicious than the other. A must Try!! Thank You Savelli for a great experience! PS we are booking our Dads 80th birthday coming soon. I was also recently there for a private event that was so good, I had to go back! Yes they are great for Large Groups and Catering as well.
We had an absolutely wonderful meal at Savelli. The pappardelle with bolognese was delicious— definitely add the ricotta on top! It’s a huge portion and it reheated great the next day. The meatballs were yummy as well, but as a starter the calamari stole the show. The glaze on them was sweet and spicy and I kept going back for more. The bread was perhaps my favorite thing; perfectly chewy and everything you want in a bread. It doesn’t need an oil or anything, just as it comes. It made me want to try their pizza next time… which will be soon! The back “patio” is actually enclosed so you can feel like you’re in a garden while enjoying the air conditioning, great during these hot summer days and nights. It’s a little on the pricey side, but everything we had was wonderful and we can’t wait to go back!
We had our civil wedding ceremony and reception at Savelli last week. From the food, event space and service… everything was perfect! We booked our event back in October 2021. Throughout our wedding preparation, Daniel, the restaurant manager, accommodated us in every aspect we needed for our special day. Thank you to the staff of Savelli who were so attentive and provided excellent service. The setting and ambiance were praised by all our guests. Most importantly, we and our guests greatly enjoyed the freshly cooked food and the portions size were so generous. We also had dinner multiple times in the past and they never disappointed us. We highly recommend Savelli and if you plan on a wedding venue, please reach out to Daniel. For lunch or dinner, you will truly enjoy a declivous Italian meal and great wine selection at Savelii (try the pizza)!
Awesome!! We went with friends last night and had a wonderful dinner. Super cozy atmosphere and very friendly staff. We ordered a few appetizers and two large pizza und everything was delicious! Loved the fig pizza with goat cheese. Very different! Tiramisu was amazing as well. Highly recommend!
A beautiful authentic Italian restaurant with nice food, rusty vibe and a great place to hang with friends. Had a great time with friends for dinner celebrating an occasion. The food here is good. I like the master pizza, pasta, burrata. The plates are shareable and have good quantity.
My friends and I had a great time at Savelli last night to celebrate a birthday. We had a party of about 8 or so and had the perfect table to accommodate us. The service was friendly, courteous, and timely. The restaurant's interior/ambiance is beautiful. It's also not so loud that you can't hear your own conversation, so that was a nice bonus. We ended up ordering several appetizers, entrees, and desserts, all family-style. For appetizers, we had two orders of the ARANCINE DI MANZO (short rib arancini, always a winner) and an order of calamari. The arancini came with a sort of basil aioli sauce and the calamari came with a side of marinara (so good). We then ordered a whopping 29" FUNGHI pizza (mozzarella, fontina cheese, fresh mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, white truffle cream & fresh basil). To be honest, while it was pretty good, it was my least favorite as it seemed a bit dry. BUT, wow, what a beauty! And there was plenty for everyone to have a couple of slices. We also ordered a couple of pasta dishes, such as ORECCHIETTE SALSICCIA E BROCCOLI RAPA (orecchiette pasta served with sauteed broccoli rabe and sausage—highly recommend) and their LINGUINE ALLE VONGOLE (Linguine served with clams in a oil and garlic sauce—soooo great) as well as a side of broccoli rabe. For dessert, we ordered two chocolate lava cakes that came with vanilla ice cream, a tiramisu (a highlight of the evening, imo), and a NY cheesecake. While I would probably try a different pizza next time, I'll definitely return. This is my third time at or ordering from Savelli, and it's truly a great spot in the neighborhood.
Very nice atmosphere. Walking by it doesn’t look like much is going on, but once you enter the restaurant and go towards the back, it is beautifully decorated. Our table had the lemon chicken , salmon and a few pasta dishes. I was pretty happy with my chicken dish and the salmon was very nicely cooked. For the pasta dishes, 3 out of 4 were good. The orecchiette with broccoli rabe and pesto sauce was OK. VERY good tiramisu. But so far this restaurant has one of the best espresso martinis I’ve had in the neighborhood. The credit card surcharge threw me off, and it would be nice if they mention it on the menu or QR code. If they did, I did not see it. Regardless, I would come back.
I liked the decor and the friendly service. The back is cozy, especially in winter. They have limited seating on the sidewalk. The food was solid, but nothing outstanding. The pasta was well prepared, the shrimps cooked at the right point. The pizza crust was a tad soft, the toppings were good. I ordered a side of veggies, which were way too salty. The portions are large, which explains the higher prices. They added a surcharge for credit card payment, but didn't communicate it, and I only saw it in the final check.
The food was okay. Good ingredients. Calamari was very good. The short rib arancini was missing most of the short rib though it still tasted good. The service though felt like it was skipping multiple beats. The wait staff was non existent. He was preoccupied with the other staff chatting at the bar bad mouthing other guests that were there prior. Just inappropriate. Seemed that they wanted to enjoy their Saturday more than tend to their guest. If it wasnt for the staff in the kitchen there would not have been a tip. I would advise to stay away after that experience. For the money paid it was very disappointing.
