Nice old school divey type bar, decent selection on draft
Favorite neighborhood bar. Ask for Chris. He makes the best tiki drinks.
Best neighborhood bar, no competition. Drinks are cheap, service is fast (the bartenders are all great people), and cozy back area to play some pool. Been coming here for years and will return again and again!
Kelsey is the absolute man, had a great time with friends because Kelsey kept the great drinks coming and honestly this is our new favorite bar. Cheers and hope to see you again!
A true architectural gem.all the wood in the bar is still from the late 19th century. Beers were cold and reasonably priced for the neighborhood. If you want to step back in time and experience an old school brooklyn neighborhood pub. This is the place.
Loved this old time bar. It is said to be the oldest in Brooklyn. Loved the woodwork and even how it looks outside. It's located on a quiet tree lined street. The vibe is laid back. The prices are great. There is a pool table in the back. Alec, the bartender, was very nice. It's a neighborhood bar but the people are very welcoming. I will definitely be back.
Bar is really nice. However there is a huge roach infestation there. Been there 3 times, went tonight with my friend and she noticed one on the bar.
Thrown out of Brooklyn Inn for laughing — an outrageous display of aggression from the bartender. This was one of the most humiliating and infuriating experiences I’ve ever had in a bar. Our group had just started our night and was making our first order when the bartender — tall, long brown hair, looking like an unhappy Tarzan — decided to single us out and kick us out. We were literally kicked out for laughing. Our drinks were still sitting unfinished on the bar when we were forced to leave. The bartender’s behavior was aggressive, entitled, and completely unprovoked. It felt like a personal attack — he wasn’t maintaining order, he was flexing power and humiliating paying customers. His hostility ruined what should have been a fun and simple night out. Brooklyn Inn has lost all respect. A pub should welcome laughter and enjoyment, not punish it. If you want to spend your money somewhere you’ll actually be treated decently, go anywhere else in Brooklyn — this place isn’t worth it.
I have worked around the corner from this place my entire adult life. It has seen some (recently seldom, I'll admit, I'm a parent to young kids) life celebrations, and some work commiserations, but the last two times I have gone it has been about the most unpleasant bar experience I can recall. This evening I got some terrible news, needed a moment to myself and thought get a glass of wine and try to count your blessings. Instead I get ignored by two unbothered bartenders, one on his phone and the other chatting with friends. I'm the only person at the bar giving all signs I'm ready to order, but the only acknowledgement I get is a jerky thumb rocked back in my general direction from one barman to the other saying 'can you help?!" no, you can't. Life in New York is too expensive to spend a dime on this nonsense. Pro tip: it costs the same to be nice, it's Tuesday for goodness sake. Beautiful bar, imported millwork, everything that's nailed down is good.
I love this bar normally but I recently had an awful experience with one of the male bartenders who verbally berated me. He was a tall man with short hair wearing a baseball cap and he was relentlessly rude to me which was both extremely unnerving and disrespectful. I’ve never been treated that way at this bar before and I would hope that management sees this and knows who I’m talking about so they can deal with this bartender who should not be in any kind of service industry.
