Avaliações de Takahachi Bakery Albee Square
I love this place :’) I always come for their Japanese buns - so many savory and sweet options! Great spot to pick up lunch for the day in FiDi - Beef curry yaki ($3.5): 9/10, the filling is flavorful, and the bread is really soft - Matcha red bean crepe ($6.5): 9/10, really creamy and light. Could tell the matcha was good quality. Not too sweet. Wish there was more red bean
I’m not a sweets person (which may mean my standards are lower) but I really liked everything I got - the sweet potato bread, melon pan, miso cookie, and orange chocolate bread(?) were all perfectly sweet with great flavor and texture. Everything was reasonably priced as well, coming out to <$13 total. It was my first time and the interior was much more spacious than I imagined, with ample seating in the back (came around 1:15pm). Will be back to try more items!! Definitely want to try some of the savory pastries and also non-bakery foods.
I come here at least once a week for their quality and well priced baked goods and coffee. Today, they outdid themselves by preparing a perfect mango and passion fruit cheesecake for my husband’s birthday, completely last minute. Cake flavor + appearance were perfect, and service was friendly and professional, as usual.
I’ve been meaning to try this bakery for a while now and finally got to try today with my husband. The breads were delicious, soft and chewy and fillings were not too sweet. We tried the hot chocolate with oat milk as well and it was smooth and not too sweet which was just perfect! Service was very friendly and efficient. Loved the small sitting area towards the back side of bakery where you can enjoy some leisure time while enjoying delicious bread and your drink
If you lack any self control, then avoid this place. I found out the hard way when I curiously poked my head inside this bakery as people were coming in and out. Ended up buying a matcha red bean bun and a soft fluffy cheesecake. Both were excellent and very well priced. I shall walk around this bakery in future to avoid temptation. Well done to the bakers for the delicious treats!!!
Cozy little bakery. Had variety of pastries and drink options. Sadly located under the infamous New York City scaffoldings. The staffs were helpful and there were good number of seatings available in the back. Restroom available nearby the seating area. Hot food were also available which is great for quick bite followed by savory pastries afterwards. The drinks were average but the pastries were delicious. You can also see through the window in the back to see them making the bread. Overall it's a cozy bakery with pleasant experience. Recommend visiting if you are near the WTC memorial/Oculus.
I had a matcha latte that was remarkably perfect. I tried many pastries. Their an pan dough is the stuff pastry dreams are made of. Chewy and sweet inside with a touch of mouthwatering, fragrant pastry tang and an outside that is smooth and perfectly browned. My favorite was the kurumi white bean paste bun with the added walnuts for a rich, deep flavor. Second favorite was the cream pan. Unpopular opinion - I was underwhelmed by the paste in the red bean an pan. The dough is phenomenal, but the paste lacked flavor compared to other red bean paste items I have had. If I had this visit to do over, I would skip that one and the melon pan, which didn’t do much for me. I wish I would have tried the souffle cheesecake, the matcha crepe, and the sugar raisin pastry. There are so many choices here. It’s a top quality bakery. If you’re curious, just go. Don’t miss it.
I've been to Takahachi a few times in the years I've lived here and it's never disappointed. I love their unique variety of pastry offerings as well as their wrapped, ready-made crepes with fruit or red beans and rich cream, and their hoji tea is delicious! The atmosphere is very relaxed and easy to talk or do work in, and has plenty of seating in the back, which makes it perfect to catch up with friends. It's also easy to grab something on the go, since almost all if their offerings are pre-packaged in easy takeout containers or cellophane bags. The cream-based pastries and sweets are definitely a bit richer than I expected at first, but still delicious!
My daughter and I are matcha lovers and only bake with high-quality Japanese matcha. So when we ordered the Matcha Mousse Cake, I was a little concerned about the quality of the matcha used—but it completely exceeded our expectations. We’re thrilled with how good it was! From now on, Takahachi is our go-to spot for matcha cake in Manhattan!
A must try Japanese place If you're looking to experience the charm of a Japanese bakery. Located on Murray street, this bakery offers an impressive selection of Japanese-inspired pastries that are both unique and delicious. I had the Coconut Cream Bun, and it was absolutely delightful. The bun was soft and fluffy, filled with a light and creamy coconut filling that had just the right amount of sweetness. Every bite was rich, yet not overwhelming—perfect for anyone who enjoys tropical flavors. What truly sets Takahachi apart is the wide variety of pastries they offer. From savory options like curry buns to sweet treats like matcha-flavored pastries, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re in the mood for something traditional or looking to try something new, the options are great. The ambiance adds to the experience—it's cozy, warm, and inviting, making it an ideal spot to enjoy your pastry with a coffee or tea while unwinding. The relaxing atmosphere makes it a great place to stop by, whether you're grabbing something on the go or looking to enjoy a quiet moment. Entrance faces southwest and is wheel chair accessible. Clean restrooms. I recommend this gem and with so many pastries to choose from I will definitely return to try.
pretty cheap, great atmosphere Lots of options besides just bread Tried lots of items. AVOID: Gouda cheese, Gouda ham, Curry Cheese Beef (6.5/10) They skimp on cheese and ham— it’s mostly bread (the bread is good though) Other ratings: Egg salad: pretty average 8/10 Kaki Fry: Kind of dry 7/10 Melon Pan: too sweet 7/10 Beef frank: too much sausage, too less bread, but the bread is yummy 8/10 An Pan: 6/10 too sweet Haven’t found anything particularly good yet but my sister loves everything she’s gotten here
I stopped by to pick up a pastry this morning on my way to Brooklyn Bridge. They had a nice selection of bread, although it was less traditionally Japanese and more Americanized than I’d expected. I chose the custard coronet ($2.85), which had rich cream (a bit too thick and heavy for me) that came out as I was eating it, but it was good. The staff seemed friendly and I’ll keep this spot in mind for when I’m in the area again.
It is a great bakery to grab light meals, bread and pastries with sweets. Drinks are outstanding. They are usually busy at noon on weekdays, thus they might not be patient with questions. Still, would like to visit and try more items! ☕️🥛✨Cappuccino was amazing. Super creamy and rich with gentle and flavorful taste. I like the coffee beans they choose. 🍵🥛💚Matcha latte was great too. Same, thick and creamy. They have great machine that makes nice foamed milk. 🫘❤️Red bean bread was a classic. The bread was soft and moist and the red bean paste was smooth and mild. Orange chocolate cake was ok. The chocolate was too sweet and made the whole cake too sweet. Shrimp sandwich tasted good. But since it was premade, you kinda expected that the fried shrimp inside wouldn’t be crispy.
