Perguntas frequentes sobre Bar Oliver
Avaliações de Bar Oliver Albee Square
Everything about Bar Oliver is amazing. The food is consistently excellent, well prepared, and full of flavor, with great attention to quality and detail. The staff is friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for any occasion. But what truly stands out are the desserts especially the gelato. Their fior di latte is exceptional, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Simply superb and absolutely worth coming back for.
I know it’s been said before but food is lovely - esp recommend the wagu beef , cheese plata and chicken croquettes . Service: smiley, professional & attentive . Such a welcoming atmosphere.
This is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. I enjoy coming here for great coffee in the morning and great wine in the evening. The staff here is excellent—every visit has been a pleasure. Even without a reservation, they’ve always managed to graciously accommodate us. The folks that work here are mighty neighborly. The atmosphere is impeccable, with a beautifully designed bar and a superb selection of natural wines. That said, the food leaves something to be desired. The green salad is decent if you enjoy something simple, and the fries are solid. However, the tapas feel underwhelming. For example, the $15 shrimp on a small slice of baguette is disappointing, both in portion and presentation. Paying $6 for a single Gilda is disheartening. While the potato salad is tasty if you're a fan of the dish, and the pan con tomate has good flavors, the portions all around are too small to justify the price. Despite the food shortcomings, this spot shines for its early hours, fantastic coffee, and unbeatable wine selection. Come for the wine, the atmosphere, and the experience—it’s well worth the visit.
Started with some vermouth club soda floaters however there was a strength difference between the two same drinks, one felt a lot more diluted with club soda. The food was excellent. Everything from the mushrooms, eggplant and sardines was good. Make sure you ask for the little pinxtos menu. The cans were ordered off that. It started off chill but then a large party of birthday celebrators arrived and parked up on one high top right adjacent that made our dining experience a bit hectic towards the end. It's all good though they were having a good time. Service was friendly and with it being a pretty busy Saturday night and with all the birthday people, I think it was decently managed. It's tapas style and the canned pintxos are definitely the way to go, but it's easy over order. Definitely want to get the mushrooms with egg yolks and the eggplant dish if they're available. it's at least $40 per person and an excellent addition to the neighborhood. The coffee shop that is the precursor to this bar that's still there was known for carrying non American newspapers. Cool history, cool addition.
Wow wow wow- I just left Bar Oliver for the first time. Well done lads. That was bloody incredible. The food was perfect - I’m obsessed with the manager (ex pro baller as well!) The little pinchos or guinchos or whatever they’re called were off the scale. The Jamon plate with warm bread was lovely. The branzino was so beautiful and delicious…. And then the wagyu hanger!! we got the hanger cos the only Ribeye left was $280 and mum and Dave wanted fish so it was too much…. But my god hanger can normally be plain, tough, and not that tasty but bloody hell , it was so perfectly cooked and with the orangey shit below it….ugh! I loved the chips too and the salad. Insane meal, feeling very buff walking out. Still a touch loud for me but I’m buzzing. Well done lads!!!! Xxx
Very unusual bar in the border of China town. We loved every small tapa, perfect sized and quite well executed. The place is perfect for the evening glass of wine, and it is pleasant place to visit.
Had a delicious dinner at Bar Oliver last night. Stand out dishes-Tortilla Antonio, pan con tomato with jamon and manchego, wagyu steak, branzino, tomato salad, peppers, torrijas with ice cream and basque cheesecake. Service was great. Atmosphere is wonderful. You will be happy and well fed here!!
This place is like walking into 1965 downtown Chicago. The coffee is good, and they have Matcha. Great atmosphere for a afternoon coffee.
This is the place to chat with your close friends, partners with nice drink and dishes. Music is not loud, lights are soft. Great ambience.
This place is not only good but awesome ! The service , the food and the atmosphere , located perfectly to enjoy good wine , tapas and music!! Andrew the bartender is simply the best !

Bar Oliver is an absolute gem. The quality of the food is top-notch and every dish feels thoughtfully crafted and delicious. The wine list is one of the best surprises: prices are so fair that it actually encourages you to explore and try different bottles. Most importantly, KJ (the GM) and his team make you feel completely at home. Their hospitality is genuine, warm, and best-in-class. Every visit feels like it brings you home to Spain …. full of warmth, great food, and the kind of charm that makes you want to linger.
The food in Bar Oliver is outstanding - good ingredients prepared with great care, proper nourishment for body and soul. And this, in an atmosphere which relaxes you the minute you enter. Thankyou Nathan and Ronan for great service

Made an impromtu stop here after noticing it as we were walking by to catch a bus after visiting Chinatown. On this day we were dressed for a very casual outing in athletic summer wear and were greeted and treated as any other. Enjoyed drinks and dessert but will certainly be back for more. The menu looks amazing. The vibe of the staff fits the vibe of the space. The outdoor seating area also looked wonderful, cozy and inviting but we’d been walking outside all day and decided to sit indoor at the bar. I’ll certainly make an effort to have dinner here next time I’m in town. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!
Decent Spanish inspired tapas and entree. Cozy interior with bar and booth seatings. The place can get very loud though. The meatballs, fries, Spanish breakfast were good. The tortilla was too saucy.
3.5 🌟 It’s definitely a hot spot based on the location, vibe, and type of people that come by on a Friday night. The space itself doesn’t lend too well to dine in on a Friday night since it can get busy and we were bumped into while seated a few times. I wouldn’t come here starving, but rather to enjoy some bites with your drinks. The shrimp pintxos and hanger steak were both really good. Don’t bother with the side salad; nothing to it but lettuce and some dressing.
Finally, made it here for lunch on July 4th!!! Vibe is really cool and the food was good - I ordered way too much but got to take the leftovers home. I ordered the cheese plate, the mortadella, the Pan Con Tomate (which is toasted bread with a very delicious tomato sauce that you spoon on the bread) and the Matrimonio (a selection of 2 different kinds of anchovies). It's a beautiful spot and I especially loved the 2 Schnabel paintings on the wall (apparently Schnabel's sons are two of the partners). Bar Oliver is a great addition to the neighborhood - it's not 100% there yet but shows lots of promise.

Service needs to get it together. We had to ask for menus and water cause no one was coming to check in with us. The place was packed and vibes were great! As a Spaniard, the food was ok. The tortilla was not bad but not a real Spanish tortilla… The albóndigas were tasty. The croquetas were not bad but lacking jamon flavor. The torrija was ok, too cinammony. I love that they had a great selection of vermuts! I’d come back for drinks and a couple small tapas.

I had high expectations because Bar Oliver looked great on paper. Unfortunately the food was mid and the service sub par. I can live with a bad dining experience - it happens! But my clothes smell like cooking oil today - please fix your exhaust system.
Do not come here when it is busy expecting good service. I waited 25 mins for a side small side and had to remind the waiter to provide the olive I ordered, which took 32 mins. I asked bread and it took 15 mins. I understand it is a busy Friday night, so don’t expect timely service at all. I came by myself and sat right by the door, it was normal for me to be forgotten :-(
$45 for two half pours of white wine is an actual rip off even for NYC standards. There are locals who want to enjoy the atmosphere without being totally ripped off.

Bar is alright w decent vibe however the food is very disappointing. Too salty on the mushroom appetizer, shrimp didn’t taste fresh, and the steak entree was average. For the price they charge on food, you will leave w regret ever ordering.
