I’ve been trying to find a decent burrito in NYC after living in Southern California for a few years with no luck. Buddy’s really shocked me and I think it’s the closest to that classic SoCal taco truck style burrito I’ve been missing. The rice and beans were the stars which is so important and usually overlooked. Meat was grilled well and the tortilla had a great flavor. Love the addition of tiny cups of salsa verde and hot sauce. All I was missing was some foil to keep it together. Excited to come back more!

On our late night scout for food and we spotted this place. Very pleasant guys behind the counter and the food was delicious. The portion sizes were definitely a bang for your buck. My ONE taco looked like a bowl from chipotle. Would visit again.

Walking by, the outside of the place compelled me to walk in and grab a menu for future lunch options around my work. Though the inside didnt look like much, once I saw the level of care the workers put into each order, I decided to try it right away. I ordered steak and chicken tacos. Generous portions in each taco, was full after only two. Steak was tender and juicy... very flavorful, as was the chicken! Meat cooked to order, condiments made fresh every day. This is now my go to taco spot. Five stars easily. And to be honest, I'm sitting here stuffed, just waiting for the chance to each my last taco!

This place is great! The staff there is very helpful and explain the food if you ask. They prepare the food quick. I've eaten in and taken food out it's amazing. This place is great for burritos and other Mexican delicacy.

I used to frequent here when I lived in this area back in the early 2000's because they had the best burrito's hand's down!!! I was so happy to see that they are still in business when I went to visit on this past NYE!! To my luck and surprise, they told me that they have been in business for 27 years!! I will continue to visit there whenever I am in the city! 😋

This place is the real deal. Huge portions, super fresh food, consistent, can custom order nearly anything to make it healthier. The staff is great- all of them- and the prices are very fair. Sit inside and drink a $3.75 Modelo or Tecate and the kind of jenky chairs don't bother you any more- it's part of the hole-in-the-wall charm. My husband and I ordered Buddys Burrito bowls and fish tacos quite often for 2 years and we will always come back! They also deliver... for the days when getting off the couch just doesn't cut it. Love Buddy's!!!

Grew up in Southern California and their California burrito with carne asada meat, no beans no cheese, and green/red mild sauce is the best burrito I've had in NY, PERIOD. WOW.

You don’t want to make dinner for the family? no problem. Buddy’s is the way to go. this hole in the wall has everything tasty that you can think of. It has saved our family from many days when we did not want to make a home cooked meal. And it’s just as tasty as a home cooked meal. The burrito bowl - carne asada is delicious, the taco salad is superb, and the kid’s burrito is a life saver.

I had my first quesadilla here 30 years ago and they still make the same awesome , tasty food. They’ve lasted for a reason.

BEST beef Chimichangas I’ve EVER had have come from Buddy’s and I’ve been eating the food from here for OVER 20 years!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Seating inside if you want to stay and eat with a little bit of seating outside in the warmer months. Stop by for some delicious food made just the way YOU want it. My mouth is watering just thinking about being there…., YUM!!!

I am one of the first people to complain about the dearth of Mexican options in New York City. I just moved into the neighborhood and tried Buddy's for the first time and was so pleased with the food quality, staff interactions, and portion size. I had the steak fajita burrito. The entire meal was made to order -- steak was fresh off the grill and it was noticeable. I will definitely be back!

Great hole in the wall. Not much to look at, but very good food. I keep getting the Cali Burrito (not"authentic" but super good). Be warned: it looks like food will come out quick but it usually takes 10-15 because everything is cooked to order. Well worth the wait, however.

Excellent Mexican with fresh ingredients! This has been our go-to Mexican spot for a few years. Their shrimp is unreal (burrito, tacos, or buddy’s bowl) and their fish tacos are amazing. Highly recommend for authentic Mexican that doesn’t feel greasy or heavy.

I ordered delivery from their app. I got a veggie burrito with a side of spinach to stuff in it. The food was great (I like when the outside of the burrito is toasted a bit to add flavor, and one of the little boxes of salsa they gave was HOT!) and arrived quickly. What more can you ask for? Probably the best burrito I've had in this neighborhood.

Came to grab some food before a movie, BEST and FRESHEST FOOD you will ever find for a Mexican cuisine. All the meat is prepared fresh, NOT REHEATED. Atmosphere is fun for a cherry on top. Hands down best Mexican food I’ve had in years.

Came here for a quick lunch and everything was delicious. I got a Cali burrito with steak that was delicious. We also had a chicken quesadilla and a chorizo and potato quesadilla and they were both delicious. The food was hot, cooked to order and came out quick. The staff was friendly and the space was clean. There were a few indoor tables and a few outdoor.

I never leave reviews, but this is my all time favorite Uber Eats order ever. I’m weirdly obsessive over bean & cheese burritos and Buddy’s is life changing - perfectly chewy tortilla, melty cheese, it’s just perfect idk what else to say

We came here because our local friend highly recommended. Here, we were first time. We asked them what we should order. Then we ate Brooklyn Burrito & fish tacos. They started cooking after receiving order. Not re-heat. So meat was nice n juicy, and super hot. Creamy cheese. Fish taco was amazing. Many different textures and tastes but all harmonized. Seems like a lot of people takeout but I want to recommend to eat right here! Taste would be much much better! We will be back for other tasty adventures!!

Its my first time having buddy’s and their Al Pastor and Fish tacos were so delicious. For those who enjoy a bit of spice, the Al pastor is a must-try! Buddy's Burrito and Taco Bar is hands down the best spot in Brooklyn for any meal of the day. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like a valued guest. I was having such a rough day but Buddy's AMAZING SERVICE and food made it all better. Their friendly and attentive staff truly went the extra mile to feed me such good food AND fix my flat tire (this is how you keep customers). Great tiny spot for authentic Mexican food. Located on Court st across the street and down from Cobble Hill Cinema. Cheap fresh mexican fare in low key casual setting. My fav is the cat fish tacos, seasoned and fried to perfection with a sour cabbage slaw. The steak tostada is also tasty and filling. Perfect lemonade but watch out there is never any air conditioning. Can be hot inside but still worth it!

The steak burrito here was to die for. That's some quality steak in a quality burrito and for a bargain. The burrito was huge and every nook and cranny was filled. The beans, rice, steak and cheese melted together perfectly. Topped with the salsas they give you, I just drooled a little writing this review. Seriously stop by for a quick lunch break, order and take it to go. Shoot, order 2 and save one for later. Everyone compares the smaller shops to Chipotle but I like both. Buddy's burritos are definitely softer and has a more melt in your mouth feel. I enjoyed every last bite of my burrito.

Good tacos and burritos, excellent for that more organic taste. Phone or online orders may equal your sauce or sour cream being forgotten at the store and will not be reimbursed as promised. In person is a better experience.

Delicious, fresh food, but the flatware is single use plastic wrapped in single use plastic, and there's no need to do this anymore. If they switch to home compostable or washable/reusable - with no single use plastic - I'll bump it up to 5 stars.

Great little hole in the wall kind of place. Food was rapid and well priced for very generous portions, pretty tasty as well. It could've been a bit more flavorful, the veggie options especially lacked any sort of special prep or seasoning , the beans seemed straight from the can. Overall a nice meal especially for a quick bite place, definitely try it out.

Great food & delivery. Food is great overall - we always order from here on seamless for our office. Order has always been correct too. Today there was way too many onions in the guac though. I'm not really picky but it was just massive amounts of chunky onions, its all I tasted. I think it was just a bad batch. Other than that its very good!

Let’s talk about doordash. #1. App said food was delivered on Father’s Day. It wasn’t there. #2 Called delivery guy who said he cancelled the order. Why? #3 Scrambled to get Chinese food and paid for it. # 4 Doorbell rang and Buddy’s arrived. #5 Order was wrong! No burrito for dad. I want to support a place I have known and loved for years. Bless them in the restaurant biz. Tonight stunk!

Staff is nice. Their Orchata is not original orchata, it honestly tasted horrible. Their salsa tastes' went from vinegary to almost an awkward sweetness. The burrito was edible. Its my first time so I won't judge further.

Super disappointing - maybe because I’m from California but when I got this burrito I literally thought it was half of a full burrito. The filing had no flavor or seasoning. The only profile was salty. They also don’t give you any salsa verde or pico de gallo.

I was talked poorly too from some of the workers. Given such small amount of guacamole, for the amount of chips. Barely any fish in my burrito, and the order took long, when I was the only customer ordering.

Okay food… we ordered delivery and the sauce they gave us and the amounts literally look like they pulled used sauces off of someone’s meal that had been finished and then loaded it into our bag for delivery. Checked the bag for any leaks because what a strangely small amount of sauce to give—and there were no leaks.

The tortilla wasn’t fresh and the veggie burrito I ordered had the smallest speck of guacamole. Not sure what all the hype is about I much prefer the tex mex up the block and honestly I like chipotle more than this place.

I order from buddys often but today I tried to place a order for lunch for the new guy to tell me he can’t delivery to my address, I try to reassure that I’ve had them deliver food to my location multiple times with no problem. The new guy continued to tell me he can’t deliver here because he has no idea of how to get here , I tried to spell my address out to him but he cut me off saying he’s not delivering here cuz he don’t know where and hung up , I call back multiple times all for him to pick of the line and hang it back up. I don’t know if he’s the manager or what but that was completely disrespectful & honestly made me mad I spent money with you guys in the first place

Are all of you okay? Seriously…I don’t know what you are all tasting here. This is some of the worst, blandest, saddest Mexican food I have ever had the displeasure of having. Got a burrito, nachos and a quesadilla and every single vegetable tasted the same while all the meat, cheese and beans blended together. Throw a rock in any direction and you’ll hit a better Mexican food spot - it’s BROOKLYN for god’s sake.

Yea this place sucks. The cashier looked confused and and disinterested the entire time i was speaking to her. I Tried to order a strawberry banana smoothie and they said they can’t do that. Fine, i chose the strawberry piña colada with whey protein and they said they ran out of protein at 2pm in the afternoon . Fine, ordered the piña colada smoothie with no protein and tried to pay with card and they have a 10$ minimum for all cards so i couldn’t even pay with debit😭 left with no smoothie. A disappointing visit bc i was looking forward to trying their smoothie they have plastered all over the outside of their restaurant 🤷🏽‍♀️

I love Buddy's and order often. Unfortunately, tonight I'm super disappointed in whomever was taking the order and the person on the phone has been there for a while. Even when my husband explained he wanted 2 taco salads he took the order wrong - he knew very well he was ordering the tostada salad but sent two lame taco with lettuce/tomato and chicken. Which obviously is not a salad. And, as always they forget the condiments so there was no taste. What's more frustrating is that when he asked for the customer's name he said no one with that name ordered yet my husband's name was on the receipt and his phone #. He was clearly being a jerk.

This was unfortunately terrible. Paying over $12 for what appeared to be 5 tiny pieces of mushy chicken that had to have been prepackaged, instant mushy rice and a few pieces of corn. I rarely write a review, but I felt taken advantage of by this food truck. The flavor was terrible and the quality of food horrendous.

Got attracted by the smell. Burritos taste ok , but won't buy again. On a slight criticism about hygiene the owner responded " Don't buy here if you don't like it, I make thousands a day, i don't care what you think".... So...that's what I'm doing...taking my money elsewhere👏👏👏👏👏

Let me start by saying, I very rarely review. Only if something is really out of this world great, or if it's absolutely terrible and I want to let others know. I am very disgusted with this place. I ate half my burrito for lunch and warmed the other half up for dinner. I noticed a small wooden stick like thing in my food. I found it odd, but didn't get too worked up. As I was finishing I literally found a finger nail mixed in with the rice and beans. Unless you want finger nails and wood in your food, I would say avoid this place. So gross!

First and last time I will be ordering from this place. For $25.00 I got an entree that had about a pound of beans and maybe 5 spoons worth of rice, two dried stale tasteless tortillas that were absolutely disgusting!! I got two chicken tacos that were again made with the most disgusting tortillas I ever had. The chicken tacos were just grilled with no flavor. Tortillas are not supposed to fall apart. The guacamole has no flavor. No cilantro, no tomatoes, and huge chunks of onions? Who makes guacamole without the essentials. You literally gave me an avocado with chunks of onion!! And then, to top it all off.... no utensils. Never again will I even think about ordering from here. You just lost yourself a whole company's business which has app. 200 employees.

We had a food truck outside our work today. Got a cheesy chicken bowl, tasted fine, so I initially thought "aye good burrito place!" Haha, oh you nieve fool. 1 hour later i was in the bathroom IN PAIN because I was unable to get up from the attack that that bowl was raging on me. Will never eat buddy's again. Dont take it personally just take this as a loss and keep moving on yall. Like i said, THE FOOD WAS GOOD! So dont worry, youve got something going for ya.
