Always come here when in Albufeira. The food is always fresh, perfectly cooked and the staff are very friendly. Good seating outside and great margaritas! Normally get the burrito but the beef tacos were amazing with loads of toppings. Highly recommend. Tacos were about £22.50 but the steak was perfectly cooked.

Awesome Mexican place! Staff is super friendly and helpful. Tacos and Ribs were amazing. The main thing to mention is their homemade spicy salsa - it’s just something out of this world! Chef has a real magical power to manage to prepare such a tasty sauce

We dined outside with lots of people passing, cant say it made my experience less enjoyable. There’s lots going on at that corner from evening onwards which we didnt mind. added to the atmosphere. We enjoyed it, kids cleaned the plates , what more can you ask 😊

One of the best meals we had during our week in Albufeira. Best burrito I've ever had. tacos were also excellent. Generous portions. Attentive staff. Really good overall. 100% recommend.

Wir wollten eigentlich zu einem anderen Mexikaner, der gut bewertet war. Leider hatte dieser zu und wir sind hier gelandet. Bei uns war der Service sehr schnell, essen in 15 min fertig und soweit ich das beurteilen kann war das meiste frisch, nur die sweet chilli sauce definitiv aus dem Glas. Personal leider nicht so aufmerksam, deshalb und wegen den etwas hohen Preisen in einem Land, wo essen gehen eher günstig ist, einen Stern Abzug. Auf dem Bild vorne die enchiladas und hinten die taccos.

Sehr schöne Einrichtung. Super freundlicher Service. Preise sind im Gegensatz zum Umland allerdings relativ hoch. Essen ist lecker.

The service was slow but we’re patient. We ordered hard shell shrimp tacos and eventually got our food but bit into it and the shells were chewy so we returned it. The manager brought our new order and had the cook separated the filling with the taco shells. He said, “try the taco shells, they are crispy!”. We did and it was the same thing so we asked him to try it and he said he was allergic. We didn’t make a fuss because we were hungry so added our taco chips to the shrimp filling. The filling was great tho but I probably won’t go back. I would suggest don’t order the hard shell tacos if you go because it’s possible their other food is okay.

Worst "burrito" I've ever had. Stodgy, cheese overload, with nothing else but mince inside As for the mexican salsa - came in a tiny pot and was almost curdled - guys why not make it in front of customers with real ingredients, like in actual Mexico? At least make an effort!

An evening meal for four adults which was good for some but not for others. I like mexican food and have had it all over the world but this place did not deliver in terms of flavour. My friend enjoyed his nachos but my chilli con carne was a joke. Some minor chilli, or pepper more likely, heat and no other flavour at all. Overpriced drinks and food so not recommended. Unsurprisingly the service is great in order to ensure they extort as much money out of you as possible in the shortest amount of time. Also, beware because this is the go to place for hen and stags and the many smokers who may be chain smoking next to you.

The food was extremely poor for the price. I ordered enchiladas and got a square filled with sauce, peppers, and very little chicken. You get a tiny leaf pot of rice for a side dish, which was shocking for the price. We should have left after the starter arrived. The beef nachos had very little beef or cheese and were just placed in the middle of a few tortilla chips. The tables were closely rammed together, making it difficult to speak to the people next to you. I wish I had read the reviews before asking for a table.

The flavours were far from what we expected, with the taste resembling something more akin to a school canteen meal than authentic Mexican cuisine. It was bland, unimaginative, and left us wishing we had chosen elsewhere. Adding to the disappointment, the cost of the meal was far higher than the quality of the food justified. It felt like poor value for money, especially considering the overall experience. The location also posed a challenge. Surrounded by noisy bars, the atmosphere was loud and chaotic, making it difficult to engage in conversation or enjoy the meal. Given the combination of slow service, underwhelming food, and the noisy environment, La Cantina is not somewhere I’ll be returning to. Especially when Taco & Burrito, just a few minutes away in the new town, offers excellent service and delicious Mexican cuisine at a much more reasonable price.

Very bad experience, a bit expensive and portion sizes very very small. We had a party of 25 people and we all left hungry!! Awful place. Kids meals too was embarrassing!! Staff very unhelpful too!! Would not reccomend this place!!

Atmosphere is fine, nothing special. Seats are hard. Margaritas were sub-par. Food was awful, and quite expensive for being so below average. Table next to us just sent their food back. We didn’t eat our rice and beans. It really was horrible. If you are on the fence—skip this place.

The Nachos were so sad and had no flavor. The fajitas came with absolutely nothing but a few condiments and cold tortillas. There was hardly any pasta and it was cold. The wings were ridiculously small and very dry. The workers were kind, and the area was nice. The food wasn’t. Don’t recommend at all.

Unfortunately very disappointed with this restaurant. Only people in the whole restaurant and we were pulled in with the offer of free drinks and shots only to be offered a soft drink as the free drinks. False advertising in my opinion and lets the whole place down when you’re obviously there for a drink and a laugh on the strip. Food nice to be fair tho.

Do not waste your time or money here!!! I had the Mexican burger which came out with a massive hair on top. Asked for it to be replaced and the server (who was rude, angry and all round a bit of unpleasant man) tried to persuade me it was cheese. Genuinely a disgusting place serving disgusting food. No standards of service, the beer was flat everything appears to be microwaved as it’s steaming hot. Extremely overpriced for what you get. DO NOT EAT HERE. I genuinely feel sick having eaten the food. EAT ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!!!!!!

The food was decent but not overwhelming. The service was beyond terrible and incompetent. We were three people and the waiter left the table while only taking the order of one person of the total three people. Only after waving multiple times, another waiter came to take the remaining orders of the two people. You‘d be better off in a local McDonalds than this place.
