This place is really good! It’s my favorite Mexican restaurant in Carson City, and the prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly too.

Phenomenal Mexican food at great prices. Family owned place. I've been going here for years. You won't find better Mexican food in the greater Reno area. Definitely reccomend the Birria Tacos and the Enchiladas

Mexican food is our absolute favorite. We've eaten at hundreds of different restaurants throughout the Southwest over the years. El Aguila real has the best refried beans we've ever tasted, and the rest of the fare is just as good. Highly recommended.

Complimentary beans and chips and salsa! I got beef fajita meal and my wife grabbed an apple chimichange. Both were incredible! Great suggestions for food from servers :) Oh I also got a strawberry margarita which had actual strawberries blended in.

This is truly the best Mexican restaurant in all of America. The food was 5 stars, delicious. The agua de Jamaica was incredible. Service was 10/10. Staff were super nice. I have to say, I lived my experience here, def coming back another time. Loved it, recommend it.

Delicious Everytime! The food is fresh, authentic and served quickly during lunch. They have an affordable lunch menu that offers a wide variety of traditional favorites. It's so good, you will want to go back often. The taco salad with shredded chicken is the best I've ever had. It is casual, very clean and managed like a family owned business - with pride and friendly service. I haven't tried the dinner menu, but I would imagine it is awesome, too. I highly recommend this hidden gem! It will not disappoint!

Went there for the first time after hearing about it from a number of locals. I am not normally impressed by Mexican food because it's something we cook at home. Let me tell you, the food here was fantastic. The price was reasonable and the service was great. The refried beans were some of the best we've ever had. The molcajete was cooked to perfection with the sauce being right on point.

Place is fantastic for authentic home cooked mexican food, the portions are huge and the staff is always friendly! If you are looking for a meal that feels home cooked and an atmosphere that is quiet then this is the place in town, great for the family and best beans and press meal salsa in town!!

Food was good. I got the Chile relleno and enchilada combo plate. I also got a strawberry margarita. It was large and I liked it, but it did feel lacking in the tequila department for how much money you spend on it! My husband got the quesabirria tacos. He said the tacos were good but could have been a bit more flavorful and tender. I liked the beans and salsa for the chips, though the fact that if you want more you have to order them, I wish they provided you with just a little bit more of each. The beans were very tasty. The salsa was good too. Overall the food was good but a bit on the pricier side (for us).

It was ok, the lunch specials is actually only one from the lunch special menu and they tell you which one is today. A taco salad without out the shell? I had the ground beef taco enchilada toastada combo, but the ground beef was old spice tasting like from yesterdays.

Mine was great. My partner didn't care for hers. I had the "lunch special" machoca, she had the huavos rancheros. The service was ok.

Not so good at all , the beans tastes like canned. The chile relleno is so far from "authentic". But the quesadilla was delicious, and they give complimentary little desssert that I like it.

Not a bad Mexican food restaurant for the price. Nothing too special. Some of their dishes are surely fresh and authentic, but many almost seem microwaved. More expensive dishes have what seem like fresh tortillas, but less expensive tacos are very rubbery and disappointing. Also, a major key to successful Mexican food is missing: Lime quality. Their limes are sub-par. Except in the Margaritas, their Margaritas are best in town...

Owners were friendly, food was good but was disappointed that we weren’t warned how HOT PLATES were plus we ordered Supreme Fajitas ($29.95) and we got only 4 Shrimp and tons of bell peppers and onions under the meat to fill the plate. Then we asked for extra small plate to share and we were charged $2.50 for an EMPTY PLATE!! Wow!?

Really upset with my service. I ordered from El Aguila real once a week and this time I was so disappointed I couldn’t let it go. I ordered soup, due to me not feeling well. I receive my order and I was shocked someone didn’t check the containers before they packed them to go both of the plastic lids we cracked so soup was all over the inside of the bag. Not to mention I was missing part of my order. I called to ask why they didn’t check the bag before it left the restaurant and the woman kept making excuses, very poor customer service. Which is painful because I actually enjoyed coming here. The woman hung up on me while I was asking where the other half of my order is. So I guess keep the money and your poopy service. Goodbye el Aguila real, teach your employees how to handle a problem not make excuses.

My order was wrong and the staff was unfriendly, like they didn't care one way or another if we were there or not. The quality of the food wasn't bad and there is a nice selection, but there are many better choices in Carson for Mexican food.

I called in a order to go,was told that it would be ready in 5 minutes it took me 15 minutes to get there, and I still had to wait almost 20 minutes for my order. At the time there was only two tables seated so not busy at all. When the food came it was cold and tasted terrible. I will not go back to this place.

Horrible, horrible experience, I came in with another person but because I didn't order a plate I was told that a fee will be charged for me just being there. The lady was nasty I can't believe she did this in front of other customers. This is a clean example of GREED her nasty attitude, no wonder this place is empty

Showed up with 45 minutes until closing was told they were only open for to-go orders, not going back. If you want to run a business you need to stay open for the customers

They charge 4$ for chip refills and 19$ for three tacos. Need I say more? Also Francesca was very inattentive and didn't seem to care if we stayed or left.

We ordered 2 combination plates. Asked waitress for more salsa, which was about 3 tablespoons. She said their is a $1 charge for additional was that ok? I said no. We ate our food. Then I asked was there a charge for another napkin. She rolled her eyes & said nothing is free. Which she didn't charge. When I paid my bill I said I didn't expect anything free, but a Mexican restaurant should give you enough salsa for your chips & 2 meals. Upon signing the bill I asked where was the pen? She said no pen, I don't want a tip & thanked us for coming & don't come back again. They won't be there very long.

I really loved this place I came here with my family all the time I even recommended this place to people but not anymore. I came in with my family and I ordered the mole it was so good it had a bunch of grilled onions with the chicken I took a bite and thought it was a “crispy” onion and it turned out to be a long piece of plastic maybe from a bag? I was instantly grossed out and told the waiter that I found a piece of plastic in my food. She apologized to me and said oh I’m sorry we have a new cook let me go ahead and take your plate. She took my plate back to the kitchen and proceeded to sit down and eat the rest of her food. I was in shock she didn’t offer to take it off or to compensate for the trouble, mind you it was a full plate of food still and I was still hungry. I let the rest of my family finish eating and we went up to pay and the owner of the restaurant asked who had the plastic in the food and I let them know I did . She kind of friendly giggled and said I’m sorry and we left. Very disappointed because I loved this restaurant.

Ordered food through Door Dash, They made my Door Dasher wait 15 min. And my food was still delivered cold. The beans and rice were minimal and tasted old. I watched my Door dasher time and communicated with them so this was all on the restaurant.
