Passed through while on the road. This place had great food that felt homemade. They had great, personal service that made me feel like I've lived in Alturas my whole life. Even though I've never lived there. Great Jarritos selection as well.

The Monster Burrito was huge. I had it for lunch and dinner. The taste was great with the jalapeño peppers for heat. I will definitely try more from the menu.

This place gets an absolute 5 stars hands down. Theur menu is small but they make up for that with their kindness and their food quality. They have burritos, enchiladas, psole, tacos, and a few other things. They are also very hard at work everyday to make sure the customers get their food as fast as possible. I havent waited longer than 10 minutes for my food any yime that I've been there

Maybe it was because of a near death experience I had a few hours before eating here, but the burrito I ate here was amazing! Good price, sweet staff, and amazing food. 10/10

I spent a long weekend in Alturas dining at 4 restaurants (Niles Hotel was closed). Rubios was by far the best. The carne asada burrito was outstanding! I look forward to returning..

Amazing teeny local place. Booths inside or you can take it to go speedy quick from the best grandma taco whipper uppers ever. I usually take pics but I ate it too fast. DELICIOUS

If you want authentic Mexican food that your grandma use to make this is the place to go. We had the asada burrito, tamale, and tostada. Perfectly made! Wished we would have went back for more. Very good food! We loved it! Tamale was perfect. No Pic of the burrito, but it was bomb. Price was also reasonable.

I had a breakfast burrito and it knocked my socks off perfect balance of fats acid and spice. employees were wonderfully sweet. I think the only reason this isn't the busiest restaurant in town is that people don't know that ambiance that this place bleeds is exactly what to look for for a Mexican spot . they aren't spending time making this place look pretty they are spending their time making the mind blowing food . thank you for the chance to eat at your establishment.

Been here twice and had the bacon breakfast burrito. The absolute best burritos I've ever had! I don't know what they do differently than most places, but the burrito just has so much flavor. And the tortillas are to die for. Will definitely stop here every time we're in town.

This little taqueria was exactly what I was looking for. The service was fair enough for such a place, but, the food was AMAZING!!!!! My wife and I both loved it!!! I cant wait to try other menu items and the different proteins. Good job y'all!! Thanks for the amazing tacos

We stopped here on the way home to Sacramento from Bend. Good food, hard workers, good prices. $6.50 for the lunch special - two tacos, rice and beans. Clearly, it's popular with the local crowd because it was busy. A lot of people pick it up to eat at home. We would come here again.

We stopped at Rubio's Taqueria entirely for the off-street parking and the good vantage point to take pictures of the mission-style BPOE Lodge across the street. They have middle-of-the-road ratings on Yelp and Google, and being from the chili capital of the world, we tend not to stop in any other area for anything calling itself Mexican, Tex-Mex, or Southwestern cuisine. We were pleasantly surprised, however, by the breakfast burrito and street tacos at Rubio's. I don't think of California as adding enough spice to anything, but the carne asada in our breakfast burrito was rich enough in flavor that I didn't miss the capsaicin bite, and the pollo and pastor street tacos each packed a pleasant kick with well-blended flavors. I did not taste tabasco in anything, which is always an indication that the restaurant cares for quality. I'm only bummed that we arrived too early in the day to try the chicharones...

Very good breakfast burrito. Hot and fresh. Made to order. I good to go to when traveling through. I'd eat here before Mcdonalds, which is in town.

The burrito was tasty -- my girlfriend used to come eat at Rubio's during lunch breaks from school and wanted to show me the place! I've heard to be wary of the new girl hired on, though she may be trained further in the future...

Well ive ben a hand full of times now I like going threr the food is prety good i didnt expect to find authentic Mexican food in alturas but I did it's family run mother and son most of the time and the hommie is a good dood yes I will go back

Good food and a very friendly young lady working the counter. The prices were affordable. My only suggestion would to have the dining area cleaner. I know that not many people are using dining areas in these days of Covid, but it is the first impression for a customer. Just a suggestion. Enjoy all.

The food is good but not great but it is made fast. Also the ladies there are very nice. I have noticed there prices have gone up alot. I dont know how much longer the great service, well out weigh the prices. Only bad part about this place, is that it's to close to the high school. The lunch time rush gets a little crazy and wait time goes up.

Great little taqueria. The food is much like what you would get off your favorite taco truck, with the same kind of prices. Great pazole, if your lucky enough to be there on the Friday they serve it up. Tamales here are awesome. Can't go wrong with the carnitas, my personal favorite.

It's a cozy little restaurant that serves the most delicious Mexican Food, $7 and your in. Authentic, and hits the craving spot every time. Wait time like 7 minutes. So good, great location, can't be beat. I highly recommend this place, it's like an indoor #TacoTruck Yummerz!

Reminds me of a taco bell. Food was fast to come out but looking around inside was gross. The ceiling has water marks all over and missing tiles. Also lots of fridges all over and decor looked like a garage sale. Still has Christmas decorations up including giant wrapped Presents.

Salt is supposed to enhance the flavors of food and not overwhelm it. I was very disappointed as all I could taste was salt on the beed, beans and rice. Next time I'm in Alturas I will be eating elsewhere.

I just wanted some freedom fries , but Harolds frosty was closed . I figured a taco joint would have mexi.fries , guess again . So I got the nachos , cold nachos . The cheese wasn't even melted , I could've bought better nachos with hot melted cheese for half the price at a gas station . And they surprised me by topping it with nasty sour cream that I quickly disposed .

Maybe close the restaurant and clean a little. But the environment was way off from the last time I was here and it was the same guy. I won’t be stopping in here ever again and hope the owner sees this and adjust some things. I turned away and left mid ordering just bases on his annoyed seeming attitude he had. Then told me 15 mins for a sope and 2 tacos . Not a big deal but he was annoyed when I asked about the sope .
