O-Ku - Alys Beach

My group and I had a very nice experience at O-Ku in Aly's Beach. We unknowingly visited on their public opening and were able to be seated immediately upon arrival. The cocktail menu and wine list was good, and the cocktails from the bar were excellent, pricing was as expected for Aly's Beach. We ordered a variety of food including some apps, sushi, nigiri, and entrees. For opening night the food was well prepped and everything was tasty. The food comes out as-made, sort of tapas-style. Our server was excellent, she even attempted to get us something from the kitchen that wasn't on the menu but the request was denied by her management, which we understood. In addition, when the bill came we noticed that an item on the bill had never been recieved and it was promptly removed. The atmosphere was very lively. I'd be likely to return on my next visit to Aly's Beach if I'm in the mood for Sushi/Japanese.

Fantastic spot!! If you have the money come here. Really fresh sushi/sashimi. Outstanding customer service & care for our table. Overall great experience. Do not come here with big families, you will spend a fortune.

All of our food was fantastic! We ordered 3 orders of the Otoro Spoons - definitely a must try!! We also got the ice cream desert that was also SO good!

Have been to oku 3 times now and last night was the absolute best! Went for a friends birthday and there was a signed card on the table for her when we arrived. Our waiter Lee guided us through the menu and helped us choose everything perfectly. They also cut our birthday cake for us! Incredible meal and service.

Jason really went above and beyond to make our first anniversary dinner special. He was incredible and so hospitable! We will definitely be coming back because of him. The food and atmosphere was so fun and sushi was incredible.

Wow! I was just walking around Alys Beach and saw that this new restaurant opened and ventured in and wow! The decor is incredible, just really my cup of tea. Myra was my server as I sat at the bar and I ordered a hot tea and she could tell ( by my 10 minute delay in telling her what type of tea 😂) so she leaves and comes back with 3 delish choices and she even put the lemons 🍋 and honey in for me ! When I ordered my spicy 🌶️ tuna 🍣 & hamachi roll she even asked me “do you have any food allergies” . I’ve never been asked this before in any restaurant. I’m coming back for sure. Especially if Myra is working.

9/10 experience last night at O-ku 🍣😚👌 Came on a Saturday night with a reservation (recommended), and grabbed drinks at the bar! Highlights include the sugar + spice with tequila, crispy rice, firecracker roll and miso salted caramel soft serve. Was disappointed in the size of the nigiri for the price point. Next time, will stick to the sushi rolls and apps over those.

Three of us Sat at the sushi bar, chefs gave us a few complimentary items while we were settling on things to order. Incredible variety and the entrees that were coming out of the kitchen all looked amazing. Everything here was top notch, love the coal fired grille at the Sushi bar….we have probably had a dozen items….the scallops with smoked salmon roe was incredible…headed back this week. Highly recommend

I loved the restaurant’s decor; it’s so beautiful that you feel like you’re stepping into a different atmosphere. I really liked the small stone on the table that holds the chopsticks, such a nice touch! We ordered a seaweed salad, which was delicious, and then had our rolls, which were tasty. We finished with a dessert we enjoyed, but the pastry didn’t feel very fresh. I believe it was the yuzu éclair. Also we had some cocktails. We tried the sugar and spice and peachy day which we had two because yea. Overall, the food and the service were really good.

We did a round of house specials starters and then makis and nigiris. Service was stellar both at bar and table. Easy parking. Reserve your table in advance!

Superb dining experience. Every dish has a unique flavor profile and fish was exceptionally fresh. Favorite of the night was the Wagyu and crab temaki (hand rolls) but everything was a hit. 10/10.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an unforgettable afternoon at O-KU in Alys Beach! From start to finish the experience was exceptional. Our bartender Kevin was absolutely amazing. His attention to detail in every cocktail and his knowledge of the menu made the visit feel extra special. The highlight for us was the Sake Usuzukuri and it was absolutely out of this world. Every bite was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Between the vibrant atmosphere, incredible cocktails and next level food O-KU has easily become one of our favorite spots on 30A.

It was a busy day due to the cars of 30-A event however we still had great service and food was awesome! Miso soup 🥣 was fantastic and my sushi was phenomenal -Firecracker-

This is our second time coming here. We came with a reservation for 2 to celebrate my Graduation and Pinning for RN. They went above and beyond with the food and service. They not only reserved our table but left me with a congratulatory card signed by the staff. Our server, Seam, was so wonderful, accommodating, and knowledgeable of the food. This is the first restaurant I have been to that has went above and beyond with their service but also with the occasion. Thank you guys so much once again for making this a wonderful experience.

O-ku in Alys Beach is a wonderful addition to the 30A stretch and has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food was truly magnificent, with every dish showcasing incredible freshness and care. The otoro spoons were a highlight—perfectly fresh with a lovely balance of flavors that left me wanting more. The nigiri was outstanding, with fish that melted in the mouth. The crispy rice was slightly chewy, but the delicious fish topping more than made up for it. The cocktails were beautifully crafted, adding to the refined atmosphere. My only small suggestions would be to consider adding Demon Slayer as a sake option for variety and perhaps experimenting with additional garnishes beyond wasabi to enhance the nigiri further. The bill was on the higher side, but for a sushi restaurant of this quality, it feels justified. O-ku offers a memorable dining experience that’s perfect for a special evening. Highly recommend!

My wife and I have our top 3 restaurants to go to on 30a for our date nights… this is one of them. Highly trained staff that knows how to serve and make an experience, plus top notch food and drinks (I tend to get whiskey and sushi every time). The edamame with truffle sauce is so good while you on your main course.

O-Ku in Alys Beach is firing on all cylinders. The sushi is legitimately high-end — clean, fresh, and plated like they actually care. The rolls came out tight and balanced, not loaded with filler. The small plates were just as strong: the bao buns were stacked with rich, sticky pork, the salmon bites and nigiri were buttery and precise, and the chef’s specials on the spoons were one-hit flavor bombs. This is not your average beach-town sushi; it holds its own against big-city spots. What really seals it is the service. Our server was on point from the first drink order — knew the menu, gave honest recommendations, and paced everything perfectly. Even management made the rounds, checked in at the table, and you could tell they were actually paying attention, not just doing a lap. The whole team made the night feel taken care of without being stiff or fake. If you’re anywhere near 30A and want a serious sushi night with top-notch staff and management that clearly takes pride in the place, O-Ku in Alys Beach is absolutely worth the reservation.

I wanted to treat my mom to a nice birthday dinner and O-Ku did not disappoint! Ambiance was great! The food was so flavorful and yummy and our server Amelia was amazing! She made this experience so memorable for my mom. If you ever come and are indecisive like I am, get the nigiri flight. It was so good I almost ordered two!

Honestly I am usually so hard to be impressed by food, but this one was one kind of experience. Appetizers and sushi are amazing, every bite is unique and special. Sugar and spice with tequila is one of the best drinks I had for a while. Service was excellent.

We were in 30A for a long weekend and I’m so happy we made reservations at O-Ku. The restaurant is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. The food was absolutely incredible, we did not have a bad dish. The white chocolate passion cheesecake is one of the best desserts I’ve ever had - there were so many flavor combinations that I would have never thought to put together and they just worked. Paige was so lovely and made our dining experience so special as we were celebrating my birthday. I would highly recommend stopping by and if you are lucky you’ll also get Paige to guide you through your dinner. She was so personable and knowledgeable! I have nothing bad to say about O-Ku.

We had a great time at O-ku last night. Was recommended to try this place by a friend. Our server Seam was incredible and really made the experience complete. We have very little experience with sushi and she explained everything very well and gave many great recommendations. We were able to try a few different things. The Oceanside roll was a great recommendation. I was also able to try the sake dreams Nigiri. Overall was a great experience and atmosphere and would go again.

Nice ambiance with the wood and warm lighting; seating along the booth was great. We were luckily able to switch from outdoor to indoor seating, although we were waiting for some time. Our server Lee was very nice and attentive and everything we ate was delicious. The A5 wagyu ishiyaki is a fun presentation and is cooked with truffle butter (just be mindful that the price listed is per oz - we unfortunately missed that bit and ended up spending more than expected) Not pictured but a great delicious dish to share was the Kaisen fried rice. Also, leave room for dessert, the ube ice cream along the donut holes is soooo good.

A truly exceptional sushi experience. The atmosphere is refreshing and romantic with lovely plum accents; the service was top tier. My husband and I loved this place! The Gulf Pearl maki with lump crab is actually to die for.

My friends and I came here to celebrate my birthday dinner and we had a wonderful experience! Our server, Paige, was very sweet and attentive. Everything we ordered was exceptionally delicious — our favorites were the Crispy Rice, Otoro Temaki, and the Oceanside Roll. We brought a cake to cut and they were gracious enough to serve and cut it for us! All in all, a really great experience and not a bad price point.

My wife and I are huge foodies and have eaten the best of the best all over the world, including Tokyo this year. O-Ku wowed us from the moment we walked in. We came to celebrate our baby moon. They had a gift prepared for us with 5-6 different items, and a card signed by the whole staff. The food experience was incredible - my fave was the signature nigiri flight. We ate through the menu and our servers generosity was absolutely delightful. We’ve never had a restaurant go so far above and beyond with gifts, surprises, and thoughtful service paired with exquisite tastes. Thank you O-Ku team!

Wonderful experience and incredibly delicious dinner! My husband and I celebrated our 16 year anniversary dinner at O-Ku and we loved everything! Chilean Sea Bass and the Ribeye were our entrees and they were beautifully presented and exceptional! Fuego sushi roll was fresh and a new favorite! Cocktail menu was very unique and perfect! Atmosphere was perfect for a special occasion or a week night dinner. Can’t wait to return for another dinner soon!

O-Ku is a 11/10 experience. My wife and I made a reservation for dinner for our honeymoon and did not expect anything other than a good meal. The staff were amazing, the hostesses checked us in early and directed us to the bar for drinks while we waited for our table. The drinks were fantastic but just the start. O-Ku had a gift waiting at our table and a sweet personalised card. We also got to enjoy some delicious surprises throughout our meal! Brayden, our server, was fantastic! He gave awesome recommendations and showed us great hospitality! Highly recommend getting a table in Brayden’s section at O-Ku in Alys Beach.

This is a must try if you are visiting 30A. We had the crispy rice, sake usuzukuri, fuego, Oceanside, red velvet cheesecake and ube soft serve. The sake usuzukuri and fuego were our favorite. The atmosphere is wonderful. And the service was excellent. Brie was our server and she was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. We will definitely ask for her next time we come in.

My husband and I had dinner here for our one year wedding anniversary and we were BLOWN AWAY by the service, food/drinks, and overall vibe. The first thing we noticed at our table was a card that said “happy anniversary” with personal notes from people who work at O-Ku. We were soon greeted by William C. (our OUTSTANDING waiter). He was super friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. To start, we ordered two plates that were recommended to us (the otoro spoons and sake dreams nigiri - both were AMAZING!) and to our surprise, a third plate (rock shrimp - also yummy) was placed on our table as a gift from the waiter. My husband and I both ordered two drinks (love hotel, ichu, ume-boshi, and sugar and spice - all DELISH!) The restaurant was understandably very busy on a Saturday night so our rolls took a minute to arrive — but we were too busy enjoying ourselves to notice how much time had passed until a kind lady approached us and gave an update and apology for the wait. Soon after the sushi arrived (Oceanside, Blazing Saddles, and Fuego - all incredible), our waiter brought back a side of ponzu (per his recommendation) to dip our rolls in and WOW it was a game changer! 🤤 Lastly, we ordered dessert. There were 3 kinds of mochi to choose from and you can pick 2, so I asked William to give me his top favorites. To our surprise, he brought back all 3 AND a massive scoop of ube ice cream with white chocolate on top. It was the BEST. If you’re on the fence about celebrating a special occasion here, take this as your sign to DO IT! Every bit of our experience was impeccable and it will be a treasured memory for my husband and I forever. Thank you so much, William, again!

O-Ku earned every one of these five stars. Leslie was our waiter and she was incredible. She genuinely made my mom’s birthday feel special and went above and beyond with the sweetest gestures. Her attitude was amazing and every recommendation she gave was spot on. We trusted her completely and it made the entire night. The food was divine. We ordered the Electric Eel, Oceanside, Firecracker (so good we ordered it twice), A5 wagu tamaki, shrimp, crispy rice, bao buns, and the donut hole dessert. Every single thing was outstanding. The drinks were fabulous too. The bar was a little backed up, which is the only note I have, but honestly the cocktails were so good that I didn’t mind at all. Cannot wait to come back.

Dinner at O-Ku in Alys Beach tonight was a nice experience to remember . We ended up doing about 7 courses and everything was excellent. The ōtoro spoons were insane — super fatty, melted right away, probably my favorite bite of the night. We also had tuna tartare with caviar, some fish crudo, and a few other shrimp tempura dishes, and nothing missed. What really impressed me was the service. Friendly, attentive, never rushed. They even brought us an extra dish on the house, which was such a nice touch. Now I get why this place has such good reviews. Great food, great people, great experience. We loved celebrating our 10 year at O-KU! Ashley was server and she was phenomenal. She gave us great recommendations. For such a high class restaurant, they were actually very kid friendly. The staff personalized a sweet anniversary card and each one signed it. Their sushi selection was so very tasty and fresh. We ordered the Fuego, blazing saddles and firecracker and loved each one! We finished the evening with the banana cream pie which was probably the best unique banana dessert we've ever had! Highly recommend.

My husband and I frequent the O-Ku in Nashville and wanted to try the one here in Alys beach. During our week-long trip we’ve ate here 3 times! The last time I had made a reservation for our five year anniversary and made a note that it was. They went above and beyond! They had a hand written note and two very thoughtful wrapped gifts on the table when we arrived. Everyone wished us a happy anniversary and we got a free dessert. I believe our server’s name was Johnathan and he was awesome!

Of our 4 night stay at Rosemary/Alys beach we spent two nights at O-Ku. We didn’t have reservations, so we were happy to find seats at the bar. This ended up being the best experience for us. The first night Nick and Kevin were our servers/bartenders and they absolutely made the experience for us. We went back on our third night and were pleased to have Kevin as our server/bartender again. The food was incredible, but the service was even better. Really made our trip and we are so glad we tried it out.

It took me far too long to make it here but I’ll say the delayed gratification was worth it! Every detail was elevated and intentional. Everything we had was truly exceptional and the service provided by Cynthia topped the experience.

We've been to this place twice now and both times the food was fantastic with exceptional service. This 2nd time though we went with friends, one of who has a terminal cancer diagnosis. The staff overheard our discussion of this subject and they went above and beyond and completely surprised us with their kindness and generosity. We typically visit the 30A area 1-2x a year and we will be patrons of this restaurant for the indefinite future.

We had the best sushi we’ve ever had outside of a Michelin star restaurant/Japan here. The fish was super fresh, highlights were the chutoro sashimi and the Oceanside roll. Highly recommend.

Celebrated my birthday here and they made me feel incredibly special. Jenny, the GM was attentive and spoke with us twice. Cynthia and Nic were serving us, both were incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely kind. The food is incredible, well balanced in flavor and a very creative menu! Pretty great restaurant, but definitely things that could be improved. The chef specialities and rolls were definitely the best; you need to try the otoro spoons. We were a bit disappointed by some of the desserts but they weren't bad by any means. Would go again. Service was great and timely.

Great addition to Alys Beach & 30A. I can tell management cares a great deal about the restaurant. Staff was very attentive. Manager touched our table twice. So I came to dinner as a solo female diner and I was seated at the sushi bar. LOVED! I had the best waiter, Lee and he had amazing food suggestions for a foodie like me. Omar was a great manager as well and everyone was so sweet to chat with me and make me feel comfortable. The head chef was the coolest (so sorry but cant remember his name). I go to the Atlanta location all the time but this location had a different vibe and was so great. The good was as yummy as I would have expected. I definitely recommend this location!

Kevin is truly exceptional and made my experience at Oku in Alys Beach unforgettable. From the moment I walked in, he had my go-to drink ready before I even asked, a level of attentiveness that immediately sets him apart. He’s incredibly social, warm, and genuinely fun to chat with, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and personality. His recommendations were spot-on across the board, clearly coming from deep knowledge and great taste, and every suggestion absolutely delivered. Kevin doesn’t just tend bar, he elevates the entire atmosphere, making guests feel recognized, welcomed, and taken care of at the highest level.

Alex was an absolutely fantastic server.so personable and just so fun to be around. Never let us hangin. Everything came on time and don’t let me get started on the food. Absolutely unreal. They accommodated our celiac friend so well. Anything almost can be made gluten free. Can’t say enough good things. Every bite was more delish than the next. Every dish popped off in its own way. Will come back every time.

We came in not knowing much about this restaurant and ended up having an absolutely unbelievable experience. We were only in town for three nights and ended up eating dinner here two of them... that alone says everything. Alex was our server both nights and could not have been better. Kevin at O-Ku is hands down one of the best bartenders I’ve ever had anywhere—not just locally. From the moment you sit down, he’s locked in. He knows the menu, understands flavor, and actually listens to what you like instead of just pouring something generic. Every cocktail was perfectly balanced, intentional, and elevated. You can tell he takes real pride in his craft. Beyond the drinks, Kevin brings the vibe. Attentive without hovering, confident without ego, and genuinely welcoming. He makes the bar feel like the place to be, whether you’re there for a quick drink or settling in for the night. O-Ku is already top-tier, but Kevin takes the experience to another level. If you’re lucky enough to sit at the bar when he’s working, you’re in for a great night. Absolute pro.

Hospitality 10/10. Cynthia was our server for today and we couldn’t be happier. Picture the scene, we walk in. Fabulous decor, good music playing in the background. We sit down, Cynthia immediately comes up. She is so kind and attentive; answers all the question. Gives great appetizers recommendations. It’s our anniversary, vibes are good. We get a free little app. Amazing. Fish is tender and fresh. Get some drinks going, vibe keeps getting better. We finish the meal. Desserts come, absolutely delicious. Sweet tooth satisfied. Girlfriend happy. Time to go home. 10 10 would recommend.

Nick at O-Ku is awesome!! Super friendly, easy to talk to, and clearly knows his stuff. Drinks are super good and he can make anything! He makes the bar feel welcoming without being over the top. For our mains, we had the Ribeye and the Oceanside roll, and both were outstanding. To finish, we tried the Ube soft serve, which instantly reminded us of a favorite spot back home. The atmosphere was warm and lively, and the service made it even better. Seam gave us such a great dining experience, and we couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend O-ku if you’re looking for a special night out at Alys Beach!

i quite literally cannot run out of purely wonderful things to say about this restaurant. i want to start off by saying that the people who work here are some of the kindest, and sweetest people you will ever meet. the food is already incredible, but when i’m going to o-ku, i’m more excited about getting to see the staff members rather than eating the delicious food, which is huge… because i LOVE their food 🥹 Paige is possibly the kindest waitress i’ve ever known in my life, she’s so genuinely caring, and her personality is so so loveable, as well as all of the other waitresses! i would literally come back a thousand times to this restaurant just for the customer service, such genuinely lovely people. they make their customers feel so special and loved, it’s such a heartwarming experience. and everyone - and i mean everyone radiates so much positivity and love, my heart is full. all of the employees deserve a raise 😉 angels on earth 💗💗 so much love for you o-ku!!!!!

We had an amazing experience at O-Ku Alys Beach, and Alex truly made the night unforgettable. From the moment we sat down, he was welcoming, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were spot on, and everything arrived perfectly timed and beautifully presented. Alex checked on us regularly without being intrusive and made us feel genuinely taken care of throughout the evening. The food and atmosphere were outstanding, but his professionalism and friendly attitude really elevated the experience. This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had, and we will absolutely be back and ask for Alex again.

With a reservation, we dined in for my mom's 70th birthday saturday 1/17/2026 to the restaurant, management, and staff going above and beyond for our experience and to make my mom feel extra special. The hostesses were excellent in every way with messaging me ahead of time asking for more details about whose birthday it was, we get seated immediately. Management surprised our table for a birthday gift full of multiple gifts for my mom and a birthday card signed by all the staff members, sooooo thoughtful and nice and complete over the top customer service. Denny was the restaurant Manager and gave us what felt like the best seat in the house while sharing details about the restaurant, menu, chefs, and off menu items. Trey, TREY, Trey.... Was our server and was just so incredible in every way. Brought out multiple on the house appetizers, truly taking time with our table, and having wonderful conversation that felt more than him being our server. He also brought out multiple on the house desserts for my mom, and my goodness... they have the best desserts. Please get the UBE ice cream. Best dessert I've ever had. Coming from Dallas, TX, this restaurant was surprising more afforable than expected, I wish I had ordered more! Absolutely delicious, cannot wait to come back. They definitely gain customers for life from our family! That's for sure! Kiddos!!!!

O-Ku is by far the best restaurant experience I’ve had in the 30A area. No exception. The ambiance is impeccable; music, aesthetic, and lighting is all on point. The food is always excellent whether it’s nigiri, miso soup, sea bass, or a specialty sushi roll. It’s all great. Every time! All of the staff are extremely friendly and make you feel at home. Imagine dining in a luxury sushi restaurant that’s staffed by all your close friends - That’s the only way to describe the experience I have each and every time at O-Ku. And don’t forget the cocktails; creative, well-balanced, and unique. Perfect for special nights out, or just slide up to the bar solo and Kevin, the bar manager, will take care of you and make sure it’s one of your best nights out on 30A!

We’re in town for girls trip and came for dinner. They were busy but we were sat immediately with our reservation and Alex the waiter was quick to get our water. The food was beyond excellent and even with a couple of hiccups, they made it right with amazing food and service. 🤩 Alex smoothed over the hiccups (kitchen) and made our experience that much more enjoyable. 😍

We had a lot of fun eating at this restaurant. Server was great, did an excellent job detailing their menu. The sushi was beautiful And surprisingly accented in ways that didn’t overpower the wonderful flavors of raw fish. But Wagyu beef grilled table side in truffle butter served with flakey salt and pickled wasabi root. Yes. The sweet and salty tequila cocktail is the perfect foot in the door. Keep serving that, serve it to go, serve it in a grand cru wine glass. Give me your secrets please and thank you!

Updated review: sushi meat was dry and roll was average. The wasabi was rubbery from sitting out at the bar. First review: A near perfect sushi experience. Looking forward to coming back to try other menu items.

We personally thought that the quality of food did not reflect the price point. The nigiri is priced for one and we have had 10x better tasting selections when the price is for 2 and even cheaper. The roll was very basic and didn’t taste fresh. Was expecting something very amazing due to location, ambience, and recommendations and was left with disappointment.

The beginning of the experience was very nice. The hostess who seated us was very polite and got seated 15 minutes before our reservation time. However, it mostly went downhill after. The table by us had two little kids who were screaming the whole time we were at the restaurant. We also got charged an entertainment and performance fee even though all we could hear were screaming children. When we wanted to order, we waited so long for the server to come even though he walked by us numerous times and went to a different table twice. The food came out quickly which was nice once we ordered. It wasn't exceptional but still tasted pretty good. It wasn't the worst but for seemingly higher end place, we were expecting more.

We have been many times, but sadly the quality of food is starting to slip. Our server made no recomendations. The sushi was.good but our other dishes were ridiculously bad. The manager was exceptionally sweet and comped two of our dishes. The issue is the restaurant is very popular and " vibey" a place to be seen. But eventually to bring people back, the food needs to be great. I hope this can improve, because it is a beautiful restaurant.

My wife and I made a reservation here on a weekend vacation. The service and atmosphere were great! Our waiter Alex was awesome! Ultimately we came for the food and left a little disappointed. We ordered the Citrus Kai and were expecting a little more than three overcooked shrimp and two scallops for the price point. We also had a few of their sushi rolls that were better but not great. We left feeling the quality of the food didn’t match up with what we paid.

First of all the hostess with the blue pants was giving off a racist vibe. First thing she told me was did you have an appointment? I said no and she said well we don’t have any space for you. I didn’t like her attitude and will never recommend this place or come back. And she finally said let me check again and she sat us at the high table even though we had two kids. The place wasn’t even packed. Our chicken came out raw and drinks weren’t good. The waitress was good though but everything else was terrible.

Came here last year and realized I hadn’t left a review. If my memory serves me, they, the hostesses tried to seat four of us around a small table top for two. Had to call manager over to have us seated in a bigger booth. The selections were ok and a tad expensive but nothing memorable. Seems like they still have issues with staff and ok, Sushi.

Good food and great atmosphere was welcoming. Bar tender/server, Kevin, was arrogant and rude. Kevin is the reason we will never go back. We own a home here and friends always want to go out and enjoy good sushi. It will never be there.

First time to go and we had some friends from out of town join us. What a mistake!! Sat at the bar and got an uninvited lesson on arrogance and condescension from Kevin. Not sure how this guy is still employed there, but this must be allowed/encouraged at this location. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Definitely not worth the experience. So many good restaurants on 30A, but this is not one of them. Although they think they are.

I hate to be leaving a review that is not 5 stars because the food (when it finally came) was divine. The chef has created a wonderful menu that we would have enjoyed if we didn’t wait over two hours for our food. We placed our order, waited over an hour only to be told our ticket was “lost”. Mistakes happen, however we waited an additional hour to receive our first plate. While each plate was delicious and so fresh, we felt that the staff could have acknowledged their mistake, offered an appetizer while we wait or compensated some portion of the meal. It’s tough to wait 2 hours for your food and then walk out with a $200+ bill.

Unsafe Conditions – Injury at O-Ku Alys Beach On October 8, 2024, I sustained a concussion while dining at the bar at O-Ku Alys Beach due to unsafe furniture and a slippery floor. An incident report was filed that evening, but neither O-Ku nor The Indigo Road Hospitality Group ever followed up with me. I had to reach out repeatedly for months before anyone responded, and the only reply came from their legal counsel. That interaction was aggressive and misleading, including false claims that their insurance had contacted me, which my phone records prove never happened. Despite their acknowledgment of the incident, O-Ku claimed their insurance found “no negligence.” Conveniently, this conclusion came from their own insurance provider, which allowed them to avoid responsibility. My medical bills totaled $15,145.40. Instead of taking accountability, O-Ku shifted the costs to my personal insurance and reimbursed me only $2,059.07 for out-of-pocket expenses—a payment that took TEN MONTHS to arrive. To add insult to injury, I was still charged the $517.30 dining bill the very night I was hurt. This experience shows that O-Ku is unsafe, unaccountable, and unprofessional. In my opinion, the restaurant is overpriced, the sushi is mediocre, and no dining experience is worth the risk of injury or the way they treat customers afterward. Dine here at your own risk.

My wife and I had a really bad experience here last night. We come here every single year and was incredibly disappointed with our meal last night. All of the food was off from its usual golden standard, our meal was paced incredibly slow, we waited abnormally lock between dishes. Our waiter who was nice, seemed to be busy to check on us, and had to double check which meals we had actually gotten which was really unpleasant. No reason I should wait 20 minutes between sushi dishes, overall the appetizers, including the oysters, passion Homate and shrimp were a step down from their usual excellence. This used to be a place my wife and I looked forward to going to every year, and another smaller thing, while not a big deal was our anniversary which we always chose to celebrate at O Ku was not acknowledged again. Service was really uninspired, food quality went down. Maybe it was an off night but nobody even asked us how the food was.
