Had a great breakfast with wonderful people today, February 22, 2024😃
We stopped here for breakfast during our Route 66 road trip. Classic diner experience with excellent diner food and super-friendly service. Got into a conversation with other customers--the place is that friendly. Highly recommended!

Can't explain how awsome this place is. It was our first time there. Soon as we walked in the door we were greeted and seated. Waitress was amazing and the food just the same. Our 6 year old daughter tore up some calf fries before we could eat a couple. It is well priced and service and food are amazing. Will definitely be back again soon for sure
Just discovered what has to be the best restaurant in Amarillo. The food was terrific, the service was outstanding. They have normal American fare but they actually have calf fries. We walked in the door and an exiting customer recommended the breakfast special. It's been there all along but it was our first time there. It definitely won't be our last.
Stopped here while on a road trip. Katie our waitress was very nice and attentive . She made us feel welcomed and never let our coffee cups go empty. Always a smile on her face. This is exactly what you want to wake up to-breakfast and a smiling face. STOP BY HERE! You WILL NOT regret it! Food was perfect ‘ol country cookin’ and great prices! Enjoy!
Really love this place!! The chicken fried steak is amazing. The steak fingers are scratch made and fabulous as well. Great prices and, on a side note, the collard greens will make you jump up and slap your mama!
I absolutely love this place, old school vibe with some awesome food to match. I've been here a quite a bit and had a great time every time. Lunch specials come with soup or salad, a drink, and dessert. Last time I was there I had the brisket with salad, beans, mashed potatoes, iced tea. For desert I had some type of Reece's pieces cheese cake it was so good.
Amazing little café! Feels like I walked into an aunt or grandmother's little place. Best chicken fried steak in a very long time!
Breakfast was excellent. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the homemade chicken-fried steak was absolutely delicious, and the hashbrowns were cooked just right—crispy and crunchy the way I love them. Service was fast and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. This is officially our new favorite breakfast spot. A must-visit if you’re in the area!
We are so glad we stopped here on our route 66 trip. Our breakfast was so good, and the portions are big. They also make a really good green and red chili sauce. They should bottle it. Service was really nice, and the restaurant has a really nice route 66 vibe!
Awesome breakfast fresh hot biscuits and some of the best gravy I have tasted .
Cute little diner. Don't judge this book by its cover. We had breakfast-omelette amd pancakes, biscuits gravy and grits. Food was excellent. I did not get their coffee, but everything else was excellent!

They make their own red and green salsa, ai didn't like th green at all but enjoyed the red. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito. But if ya look at pictures I was hard to see really any meat or egg in it. I will say I tasted some Bacon 🥓 in some bites . It was a big burrito though. I did see some cheese in it also.
I have this thing where when I visit a joint for breakfast, I have to first try their chilaquiles and if they don’t serve them, then their chicken fried steak and eggs. It was a CFS kind of morning. The decor is odd, sort of Grandma meets Munsters. It’s a dive, a diner, located on the west end of Historic 6th Street. Service was great. A chicken fry needs to 1) be fork tender 2) have good gravy 3) have enough gravy 4) have the right crust to meat ratio and 5) make you want to come back and eat it again. This one is fork tender. Batter is seasoned well. Excellent gravy and enough of it. Good crust to meat ratio but … the meat had a beefy taste that was not my favorite. The eggs were scrambled and decent, the hash browns not crispy but still flavorful but I tell you what, I got the biscuits and gravy and that was the star of the show. Homemade biscuits with tasty gravy. I’ll go back just for that. One thing threw me—- they lay the steak on the gravy. It still works but I like it on top, lol. Look, if you go in eyes wide open, wanting volume and nostalgic food, good service, easy-in and easy out, you’re gonna like Meme’s.

I've been here several times since they opened and most of the time I've got an excellent food and service but the last two times have been more of a disappointment. The fish was excellent, the chicken fried steak was one of the best I've ever had, I love their soups, the pecan pie was as good as my mother's, the calf fries we're very good and many other things but I had the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes yesterday and even though they weren't very busy the food was not hot when it arrived and tastes more like cafeteria food. They have a great breakfast and their breakfast special is especially good if you get there by 10 a.m. I think it's only $6.99 if I remember right. The lunch special is a great price and that's what I got yesterday that was a disappointment but I've had the pork chop lunch special and a couple of others that were very very good. Most of time I've had excellent servers who were on the run the whole time I was there making sure their customers were taking care of but one time there was a new girl who just sat and played on her phone the whole time I was there. Oh, and they have great coffee!
I always enjoy coming here. I've only had one or two less impressive experiences and all the rest have been wonderful. They had one waitress that wasn't that great and sat and played on her phone the whole time I was in there instead of checking in with me to see if I needed anything. I rarely need anything. I'm usually pretty low-maintenance. But I think I wanted some water or ketchup or something simple like that and I never could get her attention. All the rest of the waitresses I've had and I've been coming in here for a year or so, have been very good and very friendly. I had one meal that tasted like cafeteria food but all the rest have been very good. Their breakfast special is excellent. I think it lasts till 10:30 a.m. and is around $7 for eggs, meat, choice of bread or biscuits and even includes coffee. It's been really good every time I've had it which has been several times. I'm not a big hashbrown potato fan but there is were so wonderfully crispy that they were the best I've had since I've been in Amarillo. I wouldn't hesitate to order them again . Their chicken fried steak was one of the best I've ever had. I even got brave and tried the calf fries once and they were really good. I got a Steak & shrimp special one evening which was fine. They always have a lunch special that is 11 to 2 or 3, I don't remember the ending time. I like the Ambiance also. It's an old A & W Drive-In. During the pandemic they will even run your food out to you if you call them on your cell phone to order it. They probably did that other times also but I didn't notice it until the last time I was there. I just prefer to eat inside. Oh yes, and their desserts are always homemade and delicious. I especially love their pecan pie which is a lot like my mother's.

The wait staff was friendly and efficient, the atmosphere homey, and the pricing acceptable, but unfortunately the food was just average. I decided to try this place because I like to eat local when I can, and I was told everything was homemade which I guess it is, since canned biscuits are standard home fare. Other than that blip it was a nice visit.

The food is great. The service was good. My problem with Meme's is we used to come here every sat morning for a couple of years then one sat we came and they wert open .this happened three different times . Says open at 6:30 am might be open by 9 if your lucky. After a year and a half we tried again. Parking lot full of car waiting at 7:50 am but not open . I won't try again.

Got there right at noon. Ordered catfish, soup and baked potatoe. Was told we’re out of baked potatoes (?). Lunch just started!!! (replaced with broccoli). My sister order catfish, salad and broccoli she got her salad which consisted of old lettuce (browning) and a sliver of cabbage. Bad…. When we got the catfish, it didn’t taste like catfish, it had a flour batter & was over cooked. It tasted more like a bland tilapia. Broccoli was decent. Soup was good. Not worth $24…
