We found this restaurant by doing a Google search for "Best Hu Tieu restaurant" in the area. The portions and prices are fair. They have buy 2 get 1 free noodle bowls, and buy 1 get 1 free drink specials. We got the #2 Hu Tieu with egg noodles and the #2 Hu Tieu with rice noodles. Both were delicious! We will gladly drive the 90 miles from San Diego to eat here in the future. This is an excellent restaurant. They are not Cash Only, we paid with a VISA credit card. Update: We got the #1 Hu Tieu Dac Biet with lobster, one with egg noodles and the other with rice noodles Both were delicious. Update: We got our usual again, the #1 Hu Tieu Dac Biet with lobster, one with egg noodles and the other with rice noodles. Both were delicious. Update: Got the #2 Hu Tieu soups and they were delicious. Got Cafe sua da and change day, and they were good.
Was glad we decided to drop in. Their food was spectacular. Service was mediocre. But you don’t come to establishments like this looking for good service. You can definitely expect great food. Price was decent for what you get. I’d come back
Convenient location. Very nice little restaurant. Fast and attentive service. Food is excellent, very Viet authentic and taste great ! Definitely return to try other dishes.
Vietnamese noodles similar to Cambodian style. Eat with toasted bread and crisanthumum leaves. Get the #1 includes pork, heart, shrimp, quail egg. Here is a lot of love and care in this soup! Highly recommend!!!
This is the place to satisfy my cravings for Hu Tieu Nam Vang. They also have other Vietnamese food like Xi quach, gio chao quay, nuoc mia, banh canh, hu tieu ca. The only thing that could be better is their sizing: the bowl is just too big. Otherwise everything is perfect. No MSG dizziness afterwards.
Food was good. Server can’t understand English so it’s authentic. Although I do wish the bean sprouts and greens given were more chopped up. The dry egg noodle was really good though.
I think this is arguably the best dried noodles you could find in the area. The taste is not there yet, but it is better than other places. The broth is absolutely delicious. The price for a big bowl like I had is around 8.75, which is the best deal you can get.
I was expecting Pho but they had a different type of noodle soup which I wanted to try out. Their special noodle soup consisted of pork including heart, shrimp amd quail egg which was very delicious. The umami flavor was out of this world. Definitely, love the the vibe of the mom and pap shop.
Nice small place , very tasty soup , me and my wife go there once or twice a month , prices are reasonable.
Accepts cash and card. Great food, tasty, good portions, and fast service.
I ascended to heaven the moment I took a bite out of their food. The waiter was gratuitous with explaining the food, it could tell he really enjoyed his job. The food came fast and there was little wait. Would recommend to my entire extended family and more.
Really good Vietnamese food. Staff is welcoming and polite. Atmosphere is not fancy but it is clean. Can't go wrong with most everything on the menu.
Massive amounts of food! And the taste was especially good and not greasy, which is very difficult to find, and the chow mein noodles? Wow THE best I have had ever! Firm and not oily...I could eat that all day 😋. The small side of BBQ pork was lean and again they gave us so much that the lid barely closed. If you have eaten at Panda Express then you know the size of their small container...well here it's the size of those Styrofoam hamburger containers that McDonald's used before. Generally speaking: tasty food and LOTS of it! For $26, there was enough food for at least people.
Food is delicious staff is awesome. Left a tip she tried to refuse. This place has the best bang for your buck by far!!! Thanks again and great convo while making out plate!!
When I tell you bring a friend bring 2 because the plates they make here are so big you can almost feed a group an when I said I like the burnt ends of the Bbq pork they told me to wait an they cut all the burnt ends an gave them to me absolutely free I mean a whole tray full this place is definitely awesome an I do definitely recommend them to give them a try I promise you won't be disappointed I'm gonna try to post the videos it almost 3 minutes.....
4.5 stars out of 5! Almost at 5 🌟, but not there yet. Yes, they are beyond generous with their portion. One plate can feed a whole family. Price is average for what you get. I think I paid $17+/- for my 2 items plate. Food is good!! Their BBQ is tender and not dry like other places. I was very impressed by their Orange Chicken!! Very crunchy!!! LOVED IT!! I don't recommend dinning-in because is a small stablishment with only a handful of tables. Better to do take-out. I appreciate their customer service!! I was greeted very nicely and they were very nice. You definitely must visit this place!
Today was the day I found a meal I couldn't finish!! I love to eat, and this dish had me and my partner full before we even reached the halfway point! The food itself was quite good, the rice was cooked to the perfect texture, and the lo mein was very tasty! The chicken itself was a bit soft for my taste, but the taste itself was quite wonderful. The service was VERY fast, and VERY efficient the store had limited seating, but we were able to find a spot immediately. Overall, a great experience.
Fast service. Mom really liked the Hu tieu. We got the dry and soup version. They also sell sugarcane juice which we tried mixed with coconut juice.
A very nice Vietnamese restaurant, with fresh cooked food that feels like home cooked. They specialize in hot pot and noodles. They also have deal if you order 4 entrées you’ll get one free. You should get that. The food was fresh and fantastic. Their specialty noodles are the hu tieu, it’s comes with a giant prawn, you can get it wet or dry. Their ice cream was good too. The price is very reasonable. I definitely recommend this place, and will be back to try other things on the menu.
Chill place. Good noodles. It has a Cambodian influence to it even though it is Vietnamese. Had the seafood half egg n half rice noodles dry with soup on the side. The Chinese donut was good as well. The cafe sua da had a hint of coconut milk with it. A unique cup it came with as well. I am overall pleased with the food.
My 2G2G review that was not shared with you: It's authentic typical foods alright. The young Asian waiter has good manner (hard to find nowadays). It's a good bargain for 2G2G. I have 2 Styrofoam boxes of foods. Enough carb but also veggies and meats. Feels like the old days in an Asian restaurant (just for the food part).
We’ve gone to Shun Fat Supermarket so many times and honestly never paid attention to what was next door. Then my husband saw Hong Kong Express on Instagram, apparently it went viral because they stuff so much food into the takeout box that it’s literally overflowing. Quick search showed it’s right next to Shun Fat, so we decided… why not go the same day? We arrived a little after 6pm and the place was packed, with a line of people waiting to order. Prices are super affordable for SoCal. Chow mein or fried rice + 1 item: $13.79 2 items: $15.49 3 items: $16.99 The staff behind the counter work fast, and they are very generous, seriously scooping food like it’s free . The portions shocked us, so we played it safe and ordered chow mein + 2 items. Big shoutout to the young server, she had great awareness and wouldn’t give us the last scraps from the tray. She waited until a fresh batch came out before serving us, which we really appreciated. The chow mein was about Panda Express–level, the chicken with green beans was solid, and the Kung Pao Chicken leaned more toward an American-style flavor profile. Two people definitely couldn’t finish it, we still had leftovers to take home. Overall, the food tastes more like Americanized Chinese food, but at this price point and portion size, there’s really not much to complain about. We’d be open to coming back to try the fried rice, Orange Chicken, and BBQ items next time. 📍 Tn Hong Kong Express 15452 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA 92683
Obviously this place is hyped by Social Media, however, it’s worth the visit. Partner and I visited and were happy with the price and portion sizes, which are huge!! Highly recommend visiting this place. We had so much leftover. I would recommend purchasing for lunch and dinner because there is so much food.
Got food here on Thursday and l like to wait a bit before I review to let the experience marinate. The area around the restaurant is not the best that’s fine. This place is honestly just another great Asian American Chinese restaurant. Service is fast and the Food smells great. I can say since the portions are large it’s no wonder it was become a local hot spot. Therefore if you are going for lunch then expect a bit of a light outside the door. How oso no be discouraged the wait time for me was no longer then 10 min and that was with me even being outside in line. The food was pretty good. Everything cooked thoroughly. The variety of flavors actually surprised me. Even had enough food in my one plate to feed 3 people so best price per food ratio.
A bit more msg than I needed in the Hu Tieu Nam Vang. Chicken feet were still cold inside so I know it’s not freshly made. Great parking and service.
Good value for the amount of food and for the quality! Fed tow of us with one bowl and side of pork bone. Broth was good, had the fragrance and taste of garlic and pork broth I’m accustomed to. Simple selection of rice or egg noodle, and the pork bone is good but not as tender as I would like. Typical mom & pops family restaurant setup, service seems better for Vietnamese patrons, but not horrible. I asked for combo noodle but waiter push to select either, had combo on our last visit. Still a safe bet for decent bowl of hu tieu when in the area.
We got green beans with chicken and orange chicken. The portions were huge, but sadly the orange chicken was all breading. The green beans with chicken was much better. I will give them another chance, but I will try ordering a more vegetable forward combination.
I’ve came here several times even before it became tik tok famous, i hadn’t visited in a while because it never stood out to me. However recently people have been talking about it so i wanted to check it out again. There is always a line usually around 7 or more people and average wait time is probably about 10 to 15 minutes to order. The prices are a little higher than other Chinese food restaurants that I’ve been too but not too bad. There is only about 4 tables and place is small so probably not the best idea to eat there especially since everyone who is in line to order is starting at you and your food. They have good selection and they pack your plate, we ordered a combo 3 and 2 of us shared it, by the time we were done we still had a full plate the portions are big. The taste is not bad, the orange chicken was my favorite. However after eating this we both felt sick to our stomachs i felt like maybe too much msg, the customer service is good they are friendly and nice. Over all if you’re in the area, hungry and don’t mind waiting it’s a good place but if you’re looking for good Chinese food i wouldn’t come here especially cause of the wait and the after effects.
Just like everyone else, I came here because of all the Instagram posts I had been seeing of how they 'cram' massive amounts of food into the To-Go containers. Well this is where the expression 'Quality vs. Quantity' is fitting. The orange chicken and beef broccoli are probably the two items that move the most so they are the freshest but they are just Ok. I have definitely had better. Don't bother ordering the BBQ pork - it is tough and dry and so chewy - just awful! And don't be fooled by the huge egg rolls - they are a greasy hot mess stuffed with chopped cabbage. We ended up throwing them away. The noodles are just meh. Overall, the quality of this food is on the lower end, but you WILL get A LOT of food for your money. So if you're looking for quantity and not necessarily quality, then you've come to the right place!
very poor quality, dirty. Ordered #7, seaweed and shrimp paste. No seaweed, just shrimp paste wrapped in thick rice sheets. Misleading. Currently price: $6.25 each, $5.75 when buy 3 I would rather pay $.50 more at Seafood paradise for the real dimsum. Avoid this place at all cost.
I stop come back here after Covid the broth tasted like water on takeout orders. 12/27/23 I decided to try this place again takeout ordered chicken $20 a tray. My wife pointed out there’s still chicken feathers attached to the wing. Never again I’ll order from this place and you’ve been warned check your foods before you eat.
My son took me to this place, guided by the advertisements promising plenty of delicious food. The food was awful. The chow mein was almost rotten; the rice was horrible. The BBQ pork was horrible, tasteless, and burnt. The king para chicken had almost no chicken at all. Not recommended at all.
First walked in and noticed it’s not much options and the food didn’t really look fresh. Chow mein was bland. Steam rice was just ok. Beef and broccoli had no flavor and the bbq chicken taste weird and again no flavor but whatever they soak it in. They didn’t even give me any kind of sauce. The customer service was lowkey rude. Dude just standing on the side rushing to order I get it they stuff the food to the max but for $18 not worth it. I hate panda but I would’ve ate that and not had to pay as much for better tasting food. And better CS. Couldn’t even finish my food. Has a weird smell if you try to reheat it.
It used to be really good but not anymore I used to come here for orange chicken and chow mein and wings and the eggplant and some Kung pow chicken and some cream cheese wontons lately they’ve been kind of grimy with orange chicken like it’s all breading no chicken and it’s super hard can’t even eat it quality is really bad now why don’t make it good and give us less instead of giving us so much of nasty food
im extremely sad to say that this food was not it, i came from puerto rico excited to taste my friends favorite restaurant, idk if its because im used to fresher ingredients but the food was bland, the noodles were dry, the meat was WAY more crust than actual chicken, it was not good, the portions are extreme which is what i was excited for but the amount of food did not make up for the lack of flavor. the service was good & theres only 4 tables inside so the atmosphere is nice but i can not get over the food.. 😣 absolutely crushed to have tried it & w it lacking.
