Every time I go, i'm not disappointed from the pizzas to the pastas to the wine. Service is always fantastic too!!

This is my first time here. THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC. and I thought the establishment would be a little cramped but once I walked in, I was shocked to see a beautiful up beat but romantic Italian restaurant. The staff, food, setting, and whole vibe here runs circles around Olive Garden. They have a late range of different wines and you can taste the authenticity in the food. They're a little more pricey but they give you A LOT OF FOOD and it isnt half done, every dish was hearty and fresh. I love that it's a romantic setting but people don't feel like they need to be quiet as a mouse, the red conversation, people are laughing, the up beat music is going, and theres a real happy vibe in this restaurant. Best Italian Restaurant in the High Desert!

Mama Carpino’s is unbeatable! The Smoke House Pasta with Chicken is hands down the best pasta I’ve ever had. I used to live in Apple Valley and didn’t realize how special this place was—now that I’m in LA, I make sure to stop here every visit.

I had bought some cannolis and tiramisu for New Years for my family, they loved them all very much. They were especially fighting over the cannolis. It’s not a place for gluten free people from what I know but for people that are not gluten free and are looking for a place with good Italian pastries. I would highly recommend this place.

What a nice little gem hidden in the high desert. They have a decent selection of beer on tap to fit any mood you're in. I am a creature of habit and was about to get spaghetti before I asked for a recommendation. The Penne Alla vodka was AMAZING. The sauce was delicious and I wish they sold it in jars. I was surprised with how good the pizza was. It has a perfect crisp and the crust was perfect in my opinion.

The food is so good here my only complaint is the bread . Please please get a different bread it will make a world of difference... But I do highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone it's AMAZING

I absolutely love this place! Food tastes amazing and the staff is absolutely wonderful. I also love the diversity in staff. One of the girls in writing down the guests is special needs and the patience the other waitresses and hosts had was amazing to see. I highly recommend and will definitely come back!

If you like Italian food this is the spot.. I've never been to Italy lol but compared to Olive Garden or any other italian food I've tasted, this is the best I've had in the high desert or anywhere else!! They also have italian desserts and an assortment of flavors of gelato. The restaurant decor is very beautiful and the seating is comfortable ... A very nice dining area and a fireplace in an outside patio at the back of the restaurant is a very nice touch!! You're the best Mama Carpinos 👍😋

I would like to thank Brandon, our waiter last night. We had great Christmas party at our reserve room. He's very attentive and organized. He did not missed any order. He checked on us make sure we are ok with our food, drinks and comfortable. Great service Brandon. Also, he did not have any help. He took careof the order, drinks, picked up dirty dishes, took care of our checks. He deserve a raise. Thank you Mama Carpino for accommodating us every year and thank you Brandon for serving us.

I’ve been to this place one other time. It’s so good. I don’t know why I don’t go more often. It’s actually reasonably priced the staff there is cool. The food is great nice good size portions so plenty for leftovers just all around a great place to eat.

Came here on a recommendation from a coworker, and was absolutely pleased with our experience. The food was fantastic! I had the vodka sauce pasta with Italian sausage, at the waiters recommendation, and it did not disappoint. He also made a great wine suggestion, and the service was top notch. We didn't wait long at all, and it was prime dinner time. We will absolutely be back next time we are in Apple Valley.

Three words: Penne Alla Vodka. It’s a must order. Probably the best food you will find in the high desert. It does get pretty busy even with all of the seating they have so be prepared to wait (sorry I can’t recall if they do reservations!). I haven’t had anything on the menu that I didn’t like!

I tried Mama Carpinos Saturday 3/12/22, and boy, was it worth it. I had been wanting to try this Italian Restaurant out and just kept putting it off. I'm so glad, @go.gringeaux suggested we go. 🥖 I had the cheesy Potato Soup, which was very good and hearty. The Chicken Scaloppini was Delicious (2nd photo)! Chicken cooked too perfection and serving size was bigger than expected. The Caramel Tiramisu was good and great way to finish off dinner. Richie had the house Salad, the Baked Ziti, which looked delicious and tasted great. You know I had to try it 😉. He then had a chocolate cannoli for dessert.The food was delicious and fresh, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. The waitress was friendly and had a great attitude. When I asked for coffee to go with my dessert, she had no problem putting a fresh pot to brew. The dessert was gobbled down so I was unable to get photos of that, just empty plates 😅.

Visiting the high desert, it's been about 17 yrs since I last ate at Mama Carpino's the building has changed a little bit but the food 🥰 is still AMAZING 😋 we started off with fresh warm bread & balsamic vinaigan oil for dipping, followed by the best homemade chicken noodle and minestrone soup. Then the main courses came.... Lasagne with meat sauce 😋🤤 and Angel hair pasta with 2 large meatballs and meat sauce. Had to take 1/2 my lasagna home 🤩. I have never had Italian food like the one I ate at this place. I felt like I was one step closer to Italy. I loved it and so did my family. We will definitely be going back. The drive is so worth it considering that we live in LA. Our waitress was amazing she was very sweet.

First time here, and hubby and I loved it. The Appetizers platter was delicious and had to take it to go because it was a lot for the two of us. The food was really good. Sadly, we didn't try dessert because we were full next time we will sure try dessert.

If you want authentic tasting Italian food. This is the spot for you. I brought the family here to see what the hype was about and was not disappointed. We started with the Alfredo sticks and Mama C fries. My wife had the chicken Alfredo and I had the sampler. My kids had spaghetti and meatballs and Alfredo. Everything was delicious and portions were huge. We brought lots off food home. I will definitely return with the family.

Never disappointed today we tried the smoke house pasta and the penne vodka pasta with pancetta and OOOOOOOOH MY GOODNESS THIS PLACE NEVER EVER EVER LETS ME DOWN THIS IS EVEN BETTER THAN CHARLIES TRIO IN ALHAMBRA and I never thought I’d like anything better than Charlie’s!!! Totally worth the drive and the money not too shabby!!!

This place is amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful and romantic perfect for a dinner date. The drinks are strong 💪🏾 but the food. The food is the main reason to keep coming back. I ordered the tour of Italy. Perfect combination of different dishes. All complimenting each other.

As we walked to the entrance, people leaving were raving how wonderful the eggplant parmesan was and the entrance enticed us with the wonderful Italian smells with hints of garlic. The restaurant was busy as we expected as we've heard it was a favorite of Apple Valley. No problem, we walked to the back full bar and we both had matini's made just right and I am picky. Our wait was about 20 minutes as we requested a booth. Could if eaten sooner with a table. Our waitress, Katelyn was very attentive and helped us decide with the many choices...seafood, chicken, veal and pasta dishes. As you see from our pictures portions are very large and I had the meat lasagna and my husband had his favorite linguine with clams, both excellant. Salad and dressing was great, and my bowl of soup, potato cheese to die for! You will be sorry if you never go to Mama Carprino's, it is wonderful. You can even check out their deli case.

Pros: This is by far the best authentic Italian food ever. Online waitlist - best technology ever! The experience starts with bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar, followed by choice of soup or salad before the main course. The pasta for each dish was cooked to perfection and the sauces were creamy and full of flavor. The back room (patio) is covered from the elements and they have the fireplace going along with heaters hanging from the rafters. The atmosphere is very relaxing with soft music playing in the background but quiet enough that you can still have a conversation without yelling. If you drink you’ll be glad to know they added a bar a few years back. Cons: Our server had too many tables and it took her a while to get back to us. The inside rooms are much louder than the patio. Parking is a hassle, but worth it. This place gets pretty crowded we’ve waited almost an hour before.

This is like going to your mother's house, if she was Italian, and she always makes your favorite dish just the way you like it. I got the build your own appetizer and the calamari with the "diablo" sauce (they accidentally brought the regular the first time so you can see the difference) and man when they say 4 - 5 people they mean it. I ended up talking half of the plate home and like 2/3 the calamari. The soup was amazing (it destroyed the Olive Garden one hands down) and the main dish (I got the shrimp and scallops dish) was also large. I ended up taking it home for lunch the next day, and it was still super good after being microwaved. The desserts are also really good, and we tool some home to enjoy. The only down side I have for this place is that it's a tad bit pricey, but you can definitely taste the difference and the portions are fairly generous. I can almost guarantee you'll be taking home leftovers.

I have nothing to say, but positive reviews. The food was beyond AMAZING. The Shrimp & Scallops was so delicious. The Shrimp & Scallops were cooked to perfection. When its fresh & not over cooked You keep wanted to come back.😍 Not to mention the "Dessert tray" We were at our max with the food, but when you have ALL those choices? Who can say no? NOT US 😁. I came here on 2 occasions, my anniversary and my birthday. Both times did not disappoint! The staff is very accommodating, attentive, and knowledgeable. Their food recommendations were on point and they were able to pair our meals with an appropriate wine selection. It is by far, my favorite Italian place!

Lately due to medical reasons I've been resorting to take out to feed my family and myself. And it's been a hit and miss process and throughout the last 8 months I have been craving pasta. I have tried every place in the entire high desert with everything failing to please not that they were all terrible it's just that nothing really made me feel great about spending the money and I just felt like gosh I wish I was in better health so I could just stand in the kitchen and cook myself. I tried a couple times to go to this restaurant and eat inside but it was so busy and the wait was so long that I ended up going elsewhere so finally I called my order in and I drove over and picked it up and let me tell you it was so good and so satisfying that it almost made me cry. I know that sounds ridiculous but I've had such a difficult time being able to eat and not only was I able to really enjoy my dinner but it was absolutely delicious. And even my children who are a little on the finicky side or very impressed and agreed with me that it was really really good. We ordered traditional spaghetti with meat sauce and I swapped out Italian sausage instead of the meatballs, the sausage filled cannellini with Italian sausage and the meat sauce and antipasto salad. I also ordered a variety of desserts and cookies. The spaghetti was the best spaghetti that I've had in probably 30 years since I ate at the portofino restaurant in Torrance California. The sausage was wonderful the sauce everything... I spent about a half hour reading all the reviews before I decided to call in the order because it's not cheap. There were a couple of people that had complaints but they're always are. And I'm telling you as someone who usually cooks and feels like they're an accomplished chef I absolutely love this restaurant. This is it for me the spaghetti is going to be my Friday night treat for quite some time. I'm extremely happy that I decided to phone in the order tonight and I can't wait to try the rest of the stuff on the menu. And the desserts were great the cookies absolutely spectacular!

Well, where should I start....this place surpassed ALL expectations and was amazing in every way. I haven't praised a food establishment this much before but literally everything was so great. Food: absolutely delicious. Service: fast and very friendly. Atmosphere: feels cozy and high quality. You would not expect such an amazing joint from the area and not so great neighborhood outside, but my goodness was everything so delicious and just right. My family and I came here for dinner to celebrate a special occasion. The bar area has some big screens to watch the game while we waited to be seated. We ordered the breaded calamari for an appetizer. It was delicious. It had a marinara sauce for dipping. I ordered a Papa Carpino’s special pizza for the children. Pizza was amazing! Even my wife and I had to have a slice. My wife and I ordered the lobster ravioli and the steak medallions. Both dishes were amazing. The waitress and service was amazing. Wow what can I say about this place except they are absolutely simply amazing about their food that they produce. Not only as a delicious but very very eloquently placed on the Plate. Their staff is super friendly and always welcoming as if you are a part of their mama carpinos family. Me and my wife have been going here for over 4 years now and each and every single time that we come here we always try something different and not once have we been disappointed . Their prices are very much worth each and every penny, not to say that they Are high or anything of that nature but they are always worth the price. trust me when I say you have to try their chicken fettuccine Alfredo That you will absolutely fall in love. My wife always gets the shrimp fettuccine Is an absolutely amazement of how delicious it is. It was my first time at this establishment and it did not disappoint! As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed and sat pretty quickly. Our server, Peyton, was very attentive and took our orders in a timely manner. And the food??? ABSOLUTE FIRE. I was so surprised by the pizza. I haven’t had such good pizza in a long time. We went Mama Carpinos for my birthday yesterday. I am Italian and come from a long line of home cooking Gaziano's, especially my mother and great grandma Graziano. We know what good Italian food is. This is probably the only five star restaurant in town. As always, it was an absolutely delightful dining experience. Between the food, cocktails atmosphere, and wonderful service, it was completely over the top. My brother-in-law and his wife were in town for the first time, and Mama Carpino's was our first choice to impress them with Apple Valley. It definitely paid off. The high point of the whole visit, and always leaves you with a good taste in your mouth. Mama carpino's - our number one place to impress family and friends

If you ever near Apple Valley, and in the mood for Italian food, I highly recommend this spot. I order the penne allá vodka pasta and it was some of the best tasting pasta I had in while. The flavor profile will have taste buds doing backflips. Not to mention the servers where friendly, patient, and made the dining experience a 10. I didn’t know a Italian restaurant can make buffalo wings better then most places that specialize in wings but they hit it out of the park. Not to mention their homemade ranch that compliments the wing sauce. I will definitely be back to try their other pastas and appetizers. The watermelon Mojito was amazing, and the crabcakes were so freshly homemade . My apologies I did forget the waiter name, but he was very polite. His customer service was excellent. My husband didn’t care too much for the meatball sandwich. I guess it needed more salt to his liking. The shrimp and scallop pasta was very good. I never had that type of sauce so it was different but tasty.

Finally tried this place for sibling's birthday and gotta say the place was so cute to be in~ They recently renovated, I believe, but it was such a quaint area to be in. Their waitress was sweet and nice. They checked on us from time to time, making sure everything was OK, but not too often so that we could dine on our meals for a while. The portion sizes were really sizeable that you could just order an appetizer or two and just be full from that along with their complimentary bread! I would definitely come back to eat their Alfredo and want to try their gelato, but we were too full from the bruschetta, zucchini, mozzarella sticks, mama's platter, and soups. There are so many leftovers, but it's worth it. Took some desserts home, but when the waitress showed the dessert sample platter, I wanted to order one of each from how they looked and sounded, so beware of that! :P . Edit April 22nd, 2023: I ate here for dinner with fam again, and the service and food was once again fantastic. We couldn't finish our main course, but at least we got some good leftovers!

This is the place to have some really good Italian food! Their menu is wide enough to suit anyone's pallet. The dishes are very delicious! Presentation is nice. The environment is warm and inviting. You really can't ask for much better of an establishment. The staff is also very good at their jobs seems to be well trained and very friendly. All around great place to spend the evening and you should go try this place out for yourself.

Food was great! Definitely recommend the meat lasagna. The pizza is also worth a try. The focaccia bread with vinegar and oil was a nice touch.They have a very unique deli with different meats and cheeses and they also have a small bakery that included cannolis and small cakes. Friend and myself were seated in back room behind bar. There's a few 4 place tables here and a long "group" type table. There was a group already seated when we arrived and it was extremely noisy. Mama Carpino's was established in 2003. In Applevalley. Serving Italian cuisine. They have a lunch menu with smaller portions than their dinner selections. The interior of the restaurant is both modern and spacious. The staff is prompt and attentive. Entrées are served hot and are plentiful. The price point is $$$.

The perfect date spot. We had Mama C fries and from the lunch menu Chicken Alfredo pasta and I believe the the ciabatta chicken bruschetta sandwich. Everything was delicious especially the Mama C fries which we shared and the chips that came with the sandwich were huge. Service got a 4 star cause there was a minor mix up with what we ordered and it took awhile for the food to arrive. But otherwise we had a great time.

For starters, be prepared to wait for a table. This was our first time here. We went on a Wednesday night and waited approximately TWO hours for a table. It’s a small establishment. I am unsure if you can book a table ahead of time, but if we go back, I would definitely check that out. During your wait, you are able to grab drinks from the bar and sit in the lobby (or at the bar). Additionally, you are able to keep track of where you are in line using a link they send you to your phone when you check in. We ordered ALOT. But it’s because we wanted a taste of everything 🤣 for appetizers, we had wings (10/10), crab cakes (10/10), pork ribs (1/10), & calamari (4/10). The pork ribs (I forgot the name on the menu) tasted so much like curry (which I like) that I just wasn’t interested seeing as we were in an Italian restaurant. The calamari came out cold. They took it back and refried it, but it’s just lacking flavor overall. It’s served with marinara sauce which is delicious. But I’d recommend asking for lemon slices. The wings and crab crakes were absolutely delicious though 👍🏼 I tried their minestrone soup, and was really let down by it honestly (3/10). I’d go for a salad next time. For our entrees, we had one order of steak medallions & an order of broccolini raviolis. Neither one of us would order those dishes again. The steak medallions had so much pasta. We could have asked, but it just wasn’t what we imagined. Their menu doesn’t have pictures so we were going off what our waitress was describing. The raviolis (pasta itself) were dry. The stuffing is delicious, it has some ground sausage. My boyfriend and I both thought it would have been a better dish though if it were served with Alfredo. For dessert, we tried the German chocolate cake. It’s extremely rich and has an exuberant amount of coconut. If you like both, order it. If not, order something else. Would I go back? Yes. Shrimp scampi & lasagna was next on my list. Also worth noting, they have a deli and deli menu with sandwiches on i if you work in the area and looking for lunch. They also have a bakery that included puff pastries, rum cake, cheesecake and cannolis. Lastly, they have a small collection of gelatos. They allow you to sample before deciding and we sampled a few before choosing.

We ordered the meat lovers lasagna for $27.00. For years we have ordered this exact same meal and we always get it to go and we split it between the two of us. Flavor has always been 🔥. No complaints on the flavor per se, the soup was great as usual, however, when you order the meat lovers lasagna you seriously expect a meat lovers portion of meat. Not the case in our order today. I don't want to think it was the cook who confused meat lovers with regular lasagna but something went terribly wrong here. I really don't want to say that we will never be back because we've been coming here since they opened, we have lived up here for many years longer than they've been in business. I think I'm going to have to make my own lasagna and I really don't want to go thru all the trouble, but I can't rely on mama carpinos for my favorite order any longer. What a shame.

My first time here and not impressed. It was an hour 15 minute wait. Honestly it was Black Friday so I am sure that’s why the wait. The food was good, not great or outstanding which I expected with $20 chicken plate.

Two shrimp. Two scallops. $22. Asked manager if this was correct portions. She never got back to me. Food tasted great. Service great. Portion way sub par.

Mama Carpino's offers a charming atmosphere with warm lighting and an inviting, family-style setting. The service was excellent — attentive, friendly, and prompt from start to finish. As for the food, it was a mixed experience. The minestrone soup was packed with vegetables but fell flat in the flavor department. The spaghetti with marinara could’ve been balanced better — either cut back on the noodles or be more generous with the sauce. On a brighter note, the chicken wings were absolutely fantastic — crispy, flavorful, and probably the highlight of the meal. The scallopini was solid, though not especially memorable. Portion sizes are enormous, so unless you're starving, consider sharing. Overall, a pleasant place to dine, but the kitchen could use a little fine-tuning to match the level of service and ambiance.

While the food was excellent in terms of flavor and presentation, it unfortunately arrived at the table lukewarm, which detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the service fell short of expectations; despite our request for the wine menu, it never arrived, leaving us without the opportunity to select a bottle to complement our meal. On a positive note, the ambiance of the restaurant was delightful, creating an inviting atmosphere that would make for a pleasant dining experience.

From the outside this place looked like an old classy Italian restaurant. It's not! You walk inside and it's a fast food restaurant. Basically selling pizza from what we saw. You order at the counter. Well that was disappointing. So we just ordered dessert, canolli. You can tell it had been sitting four hours. Flavor was ok. My wife ordered the Princess cake. It was ok. There wasn't enough raspberry filling. I guess we'll never go back to try the menu. One thing that was good was the customer service. It was great. Thank you for the great service Carli. I hope I got her name right. If there was more to see beyond the entrance and someone had greeted us, perhaps we could've had a different experience.

Place used to be really good years back. If the place was actually well lit with LED lights it would look so much more modern instead of mid-evil times. I could barley see the menu. Food was ok it definitely has been better. Service was basic. Wouldn’t go out of my way to bring the family here anymore, but if it’s in the area yeah I guess we could eat there.

Overpriced, but it’s one of the few restaurants possessing a bit of charm. Servers always bring the main course too soon when we’re a few bites into our salad/soup which makes us feel rushed. This occurs even when it’s not busy. I don’t think a customer should have to tell a server how to do their job but will probably have to since they aren’t being trained accordingly.

Has always been one of our favorite places to eat, but when going last night we had such a horrible experience. Took over 40 min to get forks. Someone tell me what happened.. I have come back a few times now over this last year and everything is horrible. The food is horrible and the customer service is bad. The floor is disgusting, dust on everything. Something happened. I no longer recommend this restaurant. Run We ordered food to go on Mother's Day 2022 and it was a 10 out of 10 no joke. The freshness, the quality, I have to say probably the best food I have ever eaten in my 43 years on this planet. My husband and son ordered everything so I'm not sure of the names of everything but the salad with blue cheese crumble fresh slices of tomatoes and Mozzarella cheese was out of this world. It should be illegal its so good. The bread so fresh and good, they got a cheese and pepperoni pizza and let me tell you, for someone who doesn't really like pizza, I will order this again without hesitation, the cheese was real and fresh the crust was not oily and soggy. It was the most perfect pizza I have ever eaten. Now we live 20 min away and it all held up and was still perfect. That says something. Now, the cream puffs wow real cream it was outstanding. The Canolis tasted Phenomenal. I can't get over this perfection. I am extremely picky when it comes to food and like I said 10/10. Oh and I usually have to throw left overs away, no leftovers in the trash, it was that good. I now have a place I can eat at that I don't mind spending the money on. This is a joke. How is the place rated 4.7 stars?? If it were in any other place in the world where they have even heard of Italian food, it would rate 2 stars at best. This is not Italian food. Far from it. Get a clue people. Serving pasta, pizza and dishes overloaded with garlic does not make the restaurant an Italian restaurant. Check the caprese dish with greens, tomatoes, “mozzarella” and BLUE CHEESE. BLUE CHEESE! Who ever heard of blue cheese on a caprese salad?! This an absolute disgrace! And the place is packed almost daily for goodness sake. Didn’t anyone think of opening a decent Italian restaurant in this area? It blows my mind.

So I come to this restaurant a lot in the last few years . About 6 months ago I received a really bad meal and then it happened again. So I hadn't gone for quite a while, and I said, let me try it again. So last night I ordered appetizers, bruschetta and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were cold and the bruschetta and The bread was not toasted. It tasted like soggy garlic. Even the minestroni was lukewarm. Then I ordered fettuccine Alfredo, with bow tie pasta instead of regular pasta and the sauce was like he poured a 1/2 a cup of milk over the pasta It was so runny and soggy, even the waitress couldn't believe it. There was no sauce at all. It was running liquid With no taste. So then I ordered penne alavodka With easy spice, he put so much spice, I couldn't eat half of it. Definitely, the cook needs to be spoken to. What a shame this used to be an awesome restaurant. I don't think I'll be coming back for a while. The whole meal was unacceptable.

Update. I have tried to message them, and I still have not received any response. Horrid customer service. I believe in local businesses. But this is not how you treat customers. Avoid this place. This place has no ability to honor what is on their site. My favorite thing here is the family's favorite sandwich. Burger on parmesean toast. It is really good. They list on their site they only make it till 5pm. Sister called in an order for pick up for my bday and my moms at 430. They refused to honor their menu and make the sandwich. Even pointed out what it listed on their menu. It wasn't like they were out. They just refused to make it. I included an image of it. Put a damper on our days. I'm not happy at all. We dont go here very often, and service like that reminds me why. What can you trust. Had an issue last year as well. Thevfood overall is good. I ended up with the spaghetti which was ok.

Here’s the truth All my food was cold Crab cake was the coldest,almost spit it out but didn’t wanna be rude Meatballs cold with hot sauce on top Pizza dough was not cooked thru And had to have that taken off bill cus that’s a big no no Only thing that was hot was the zucchini but too bad the oil it was fried in was dirty. Very expensive for the person in the back not to have a thermometer don’t you think. Better off going to Olive Garden. But took a chance
