First time visiting. Customer Service was GREAT! The atmosphere was family friendly. The service was quick. I ordered the 2pc Fried Catfish. It was Fresh & Hot. Seasoned just like I like my fish. The fish still had that crisp taste the next day from my leftovers 😋 I will be returning for the Wings, BBQ etc SOON!

TJ's Catfish, Wings, & BBQ I have heard only good things about this place. It just took me a while to find it. Now that I know their name and location, they will be inserted into my dining rotation. How could anyone not love something on their extensive menu from fish, wings, BBQ, and and plenty in between? There is something for everyone. On my first visit, I ordered Texas Twisters which is the same thing as Brisket Nachos, but made with fries. Essentially the same as Asada Fries. I followed up with a Fried Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert. I, of course, had to have my sweet tea. This time I opted for the raspberry tea. Everything was superb and plentiful with enough leftovers for lunch today. They go down in my book as another gem in the wild. I will be a new frequent flyer. The food was good and it was large portions. I wasn't a fan of the BBQ sauce this time, but it was good before. I tasted my cousin's catfish, and it was delicious. Well seasoned and a great flacky texture and the crust was crunchy and perfect. 😋

Walking in I was greeted, staff is friendly and ready to take your order. I only try their wings and catfish the wings were well season and juicy I rarely eat catfish got it because it was on TJ special for a good price and I wasn’t disappointed batter was on point. Wingstop lost a customer.

We ordered the Turkey and dressing plate with yams and greens and a brisket baked potato with the works. The yams were a little overcooked and the greens had an unknown taste to them. It did not taste good at all. We had to send them back and substitute for another side. The dressing was very good. It had the right blend of seasoning and very moist. They don't have cranberry sauce, but the dressing so good, you don't need any. The turkey wings 🪽 were huge and tender. The gravy was okay, just needed a little more seasoning. The baked potato was awesome. The brisket had a nice smoke to it. Overall I would rate the food we ordered a 6.5/10. The sweet tea was excellent.10/10 Atmosphere was nice. The original table we wanted to sit at was not clean, so we had to sit close to the door and that cold breeze was 🥶. 9/10 The lady at first register had great customer service. 10/10 I will be back to try the catfish and some other menu items.

We enjoyed our first time meals here. We had the 2 Fillet Catfish and the Brisket Philly. The Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapeno was also pretty good! Friendly service!

I used to practically live in TJs but I hadn’t been in years.. looking for good chicken today, I decided to make the drive.. to my surprise, they have a BBQ extension and the aroma immediately drew us in.. PROS: the loaded brisket cornbread was heavenly.. the cornbread specifically (they need to add that as a side lol).. good music, they had all the oldies playing.. CONS: I ordered the meat plate originally and I wasn’t too happy.. I notified them of my displeasure and requested alternative.. nothing was confirmed and no word was said.. he was a bit standoffish and unapproachable (and that’s not how I remember him being or I wouldn’t have went). Either way, he (the owner) did fix the problem by replacing my meal.. I wanted to thank him personally on my way out but he disappeared so I told his friend.. I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND it.. my cons are small grows that I’m sure will be .. you go, GET THE LOADED CORNBREAD!!! Sure to eat off it at least twice!! Very filling and even more delicious..

The service was cool and the food was decent. I've much better food. The bbq was ok. It was not as tender as I've had at other places. The smoke was good but there was no seasoning. The fish was really good, but the wings were ok. Give this place a try and let me know what you think.

We heard that the BBQ is the bomb. We got there later that night. They were out of BBQ. THAT SUCKS. Next time we have to get there early. They will sell out. So we had to settle for wings and fish. It was ok. Thr fries was a little salty. I got lemon peppered wings but they were too salty. Fish looked good but was bland. No seasoning. Overall food experience: 7.5/10. Customer service was good. Customer service:9/10 The pregnant young lady that served us was very nice and helpful. We will come back to try out bbq. 👍🏾

I had been wanting to visit this spot for months as a local community advocate who is intentional about supporting Black-owned businesses. I finally stopped in and ordered a two-piece catfish, four wings, and a side. The catfish and wings were very good—seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The collard greens were okay, not bad but not my favorite. The young ladies working the register were wonderful—kind, welcoming, and providing great customer service. Unfortunately, I witnessed something that left me disappointed. The owner, Travis, was rude to one of the staff members over something as small as giving me hot sauce packets instead of having me use the bottles already on the tables (which were being shared by other customers). It felt unnecessary and petty, especially in front of patrons. As someone who champions Black-owned businesses, I truly wanted to love every part of this experience. I hope leadership takes steps to show the same respect and care to their staff that the staff shows to customers.

Let me tell you that I’m so appalled and in disbelief I just received the worst service from TJ’s Catfish/M’Jay’s House of Smoke in Arlington off Green Oaks by the owner himself!!! I went inside to order and no one was in line at the time so we stepped aside to read the menu and figure out what we wanted. There was a young lady at the counter taking orders and I asked a question about a menu item and was responded to very dry, ok she seemed very into what she was doing writing on papers at the counter…we allowed several people to go in front of us not holding up the line. We preceded to go up once she was ready to take our order and while I’m giving her my order she’s steady writing on the papers and asking me to repeat myself and I could barely hear her as she was focused on the papers. At this point I politely asked her could she focus on taking my order so neither one of us would have to keep repeating ourselves. The owner was behind her pulling orders from the window, turns around loudly and rudely states” do we have a problem”? I preceded to tell him no I only asked could she focus on my order to ensure it’s correct and we hear each other out…TJ the owner tells me they’re very busy and she was taking an online order and needed to finish it up so she needed to focus on the order so she wouldn’t forget anything as if I wasn’t placing an order too. TJ continued to go back and forth with me about how good the young lady was at her job which I never discredited her work at all and he knows customer service and saw nothing wrong with what she was doing….. TJ’s focus was mainly on how busy he was and never acknowledged her lack of communication/listening to the customer at hand. At the time I didn’t recognize he was the owner and asked for a refund and he was like yep I’ll refund you whatever!! Never once did he apologize to me or speak with the young lady about her actions and kept making shoulder gestures as if it’s like oh well. The type of person I am, if I truly was rude or wrong, I wrong my rights so I apologized to the young lady if she felt I was rude and she said no ma’am you’re good I understand where you were coming from but I guess TJ didn’t see it that way. To know this is a BOB and I try my hardest to support, this is exactly why I can’t and this wasn’t my first visit to his restaurant but definitely my last!! My order was a little over $50 but losing a dollar is losing-no mater the amount when it all could’ve been avoided with a simple accountability and better customer service!

I’m assuming they are trying to upgrade the building they are downsizing in their portion. I just got a handful of fries. I’m not even sure if I can call it a handful for what I paid for you might as well say I’m paying for the fish only probably won’t come back. I rather cook my own fish. If this is what I’m getting very disappointed. They have the same breaded season for everything even the Boudin balls. This location has just disappointed me.
