I went to Susuru on a Friday afternoon with a friend, and was absolutely blown away. We ordered miso ramen, along with garlic edamame and gyozas. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The miso broth was hearty and not too oily! The staff was so attentive and friendly and I can’t wait to go back. An absolute must if you’re in the area and definitely a place to visit even if you have to go out of your way!
Best ramen in NYC without a second thought. The broth was balanced and the noodles were cooked to a right degree of chewiness. The beer was pleasantly tasty, and we will try the karaage next time! Btw, the kitchen closes at 8:30pm.
If you’re a ramen lover in Queens or visiting Astoria, Susuru Ramen is a must-try. This ramen spot is known for its rich, flavorful broths, the noodles are cooked just right — firm yet tender. The chicken karaage also good, crispy and juicy. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, though the space is a bit small, it will be tough for group more than 4 people. Chicken karaage + ramen = dinner done right 🥢
The ramen was delicious. Hard to find a tasty veggie broth ramen but they definitely have the best veggie broth in Astoria. The noodles were perfectly cooked and everything was very tasty. The staff were very kind and attentive and the entire establishment is very authentic. Very close to museum of the moving image so it’s a great place to go after visiting or catching a movie.
Absolutely amazing ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful, the pork was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. One of the best bowls I’ve had . Will definitely be back!
Overall a very positive experience finally visiting Susuru. Had the chicken-based ramen which is rich and flavorful despite its base. Noodles themselves were perfectly cooked. Pork was particularly meaty and different than most. Beer selection is excellent, and the sake was nice as well. The service was fine, and the restaurant itself is pretty basic, small, and well-lit. Comfortable for sure. Probably will come back
Great ramen spot. Tasty hot and delicious. So full I had to take a walk to stop sweating.
Everything is always good here. Everything. The gyokai ramen is my go-to. Specifically I am moved to write this review because we ordered delivery, and this time I requested extra white onion. The additional amount of "more onion" was exactly perfect. It's been a long day (week/month/year so far) but in this moment I am so happy! Thank you!
Top 3 ramen spots in NYC for me. The ramen has consistently been delicious every time I go. The staff is friendly and attentive. It’s very unexpected but they have a very interesting rotating beer lineup. I absolutely love that. My favorite one so far was this kyoto strawberry beer. So good!
My wife said the takoyaki was really good. We got the shrimp and tofu bao, both were delicious. We also got the ramen. I liked mine and my wife really loved hers. She said the meat was very tasty. Highly recommend.
AMAZING RAMEN, it was so goood and the service was THE BEST SERVICE IVE HAD IN NYC. Very sweet ladies and they were so attentive and friendly!! I've had ramen from all over the US and these noodles were the best I've ever had!!! I was told the chef is from China but studied Japanese cuisine! He knows what he's doing! The chili oil is delicious to add to your soup!!
My favorite ramen in Queens and top 5 in NYC (coming from a half-asian Queens native that grew up on high quality ramen)! My go-to take-out meal is the veggie miso ramen with black garlic oil, plus sides of karaage and garlic edamame ...but I highly recommend every single item on the menu! There's a small beverage fridge with some of the best craft beer the NYC area has to offer (as well as sake, soda, and other stuff). Follow them on Instagram for current offerings and special events! 🍻 Kanpai!
Hands down the best ramen I’ve had outside of Japan. My favorites here are the Tantan and Miso. Both have great depth of flavor, chewy noodles, and very generous portions of noodles, veggies, and meat. There is usually only one waitress, but she never misses a beat - providing great service with a smile! It’s a small space, so if you’re going for dinner, try to go early. Otherwise expect a wait. It’s worth it though!
Delicious, rich ramen broth. Noodles were firm like how I prefer them. We got the Kuro and Tantan ramens and they were both great. Chili oil was delicious without being overpowering. Prices felt reasonable. We got there right as they opened so had to wait a little for food, but even that was only maybe 10-15 minutes. Highly recommend giving it a try.
This is my new spot. I've been coming here for a few years now. The ramen broth made here is close to what the taste is like in Japan. I've been to Japan 4 times now, with another trip coming up in March 2026 and I love ramen. It's hard to find an authentic ramen spot in NYC. Most are over priced and low quality. The prices here are great and the quality of the food is great. Even their sides are great tasting. I highly recommend this ramen store. Please come and visit and enjoy some great food, service and leave with a full stomach! This place gets crowded for the dinner crowd. Usually 6pm and on there's a wait as this shop is on the smaller side. Do not come here with large groups. I would recommond a group of 4 to be a comfortable max.
At this bare bones ramen shop with tables furnished of plywood, you’ll find one of the best paitan chicken broth ramen bowls around. Chicken Kara-age was perfectly crisp and juicy, while deliciously seasoned. House made dumpling were on point. Chicken Paitan with pork chashu was light yet balanced (fat-salt). Really good.
My favorite Ramen spot in all of New York City! I come here with my wife once or twice a month. I love the Tantan, Gyokai, Kuro, Miso are all delicious. Also deff go for the Buns and Takoyaki. Beer and sake selections are awesome as well. Don’t miss this great no frills spot :-) P.S you might have to wait a little since it’s a small spot but vibe is warm and coszy.
Loved their spicy wings. They came spicy with a light nose of yuzu which made them taste so special and delicious. The Tan Tan Ramen we tried was good too, the noodles which I believe are homemade came in a perfect firmness were my favorite. Just a cute, minimal stylish spot with delicious place that run by friendly Japanese crews that we will definitely keep coming back to!
My boyfriend and I recently dined here and absolutely loved it. We ordered the gyoza and takoyaki which were fantastic, especially the latter. The takoyaki was a perfect size, not to big or small, battered crispy and the octopus inside was a great texture. I had the miso ramen with extra corn (and they give you a good amount when ordering extra) while my boyfriend had the gyokai ramen which were equally delicious in their own way (the broth was delectable and the toppings complimented them well). We would 100% recommend visiting here and will be returning ourselves!
I ordered the Deluxe Ramen, which had a very gentle and comforting flavor. The ramen included finely chopped onions, and since I’m not a big fan of onions, I personally would have preferred it without them. When I added the black sauce, it brought out a strong garlic flavor, so I could enjoy both the light, delicate taste and the bold garlic punch in one bowl. The noodles were on the thicker side, and for me, they didn’t pair perfectly with the soup. The service was excellent, and the interior had a nostalgic feel, almost like a traditional countryside ramen shop in Japan, which I really loved. For appetizers, I ordered the karaage and gyoza, and both were delicious. The karaage looked simple but was perfectly executed, and I absolutely loved it—I’ll definitely order it again. The gyoza also tasted handmade and was very flavorful. They also have a great selection of sake and beer, which makes me want to come back again for sure.
