I'm not exaggerating—almost every person living in LIC has eaten at Rice Alley. When you're homesick, craving something hot, or want a satisfying bowl of Chinese food, this is the place to be. ⭐ Must-Try List (Blindly Order Without Blindly Missing): 🥩 Stew Beef Noodle Soup: Rich but not greasy broth, beef stewed to perfection, a bowl of this will instantly revitalize you. 🌶️ Stir-Fried String Beans: Garlic flavor and wok hei (wok aroma), so addictive, a perfect accompaniment to rice. 🥕 Beef + Daikon: Sweet daikon radish paired with tender beef, suitable for both winter and summer. 🥟 Shrimp + Chive + Pork Dumplings: A generous amount of shrimp, each bite is incredibly satisfying. 🔥 Hunan Fried Tofu: Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, spicy but not oily, a must-order for tofu lovers. 🍜 Soft Tofu Minced Pork Noodles: Smooth tofu paired with flavorful minced pork, truly comforting. 🥹
Absolutely loved the Hunan-style beef and the dumplings flavorful, tender, and perfectly spicy! 🌶️ The cashier was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. Great food and great service. I’ll definitely be coming back!
My partner and I really love this place! Great flavour and super comforting. We find the quantity quite good, especially for the topping/meat(?) part. We come here whenever we just want something homey. My personal favourite is the pork with pickled mustard greens, spicy or extra spicy. I love the wok hay flavour/aroma of it! All the sides we tried have been good (loved the pig ear), although if you get dumplings we found that you have to wait a little longer than usual since they take a while to cook. I have put the price of each meal in the photo caption. The prices are after tax but do not include tip. The last picture is takeout, and the soup was for my noodles.
Ordered twice. Pork in third pic was a little too fat for me, but the first two pics WERE YUM 10/10. I got mid spicy and pork trotter dried noodles, highly recommend. Their beans are so good too!!!
Very nice food. Only complaint is that we asked for “mild” and it was very spicy still. Perhaps should have asked for no spice as the food itself was very well cooked and flavourful. Got beef dish and chicken dish
4th time ordering from Silky. Incredible flavour, authentic and great topping portions. Highly recommended their hot and sour chicken gizzard noodles and pig ear salad!
Loved the service! Even though it’s self-service, the cashier was super helpful and made the process smooth. Will definitely come back and the Hunan-style beef was yummy!
I love this place whenever I’m in town because their food is delicious. Although I usually get the chicken with chili paste and noodles, I have tried their dumplings also. The place is always clean, friendly staff and quick service. The food taste so fresh whether you dine in or take home. They are not light with the portions are very filling.
I’m truly impressed by how exceptional this place is, especially when compared to the rice noodle spot in LIC. The flavors here are on another level! Personally, I love bold tastes, and the Hot & Sour Fish Noodle Soup I ordered was a perfect match. They served a generous portion with plenty of fish, and I initially thought I wouldn’t be able to finish it. But it was so delicious that I ended up polishing off the entire bowl! The homemade shrimp and pork dumplings were simply amazing as well. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to return!
My favorite place to order workday lunch from in LIC! The rice noodle dish (卤粉) is truly authentic. One slurp of the noodles transports me to Hunan immediately. You can choose different toppings to go with it — the classic, flavor-loaded minced pork, the opulent chunks of braised pork belly, the simmered-to-tenderness pork ribs, and the uniquely smoky bamboo shoots with sautéed pork. One dish alone is already rib-sticking! They also have stir-fry dishes to order, like the mouthwatering string beans. They are swiftly stir-fried, kissed by the heat, slightly charred, and still crisp. For desserts, I always opt for the flower jelly. Beautifully transparent, adorned with golden dried osmanthus flowers. Served cold, it’s refreshingly sweet with a hint of nuttiness from the brown sugar.
Was looking for a place to have dinner and spotted this place right by the train station. Looked clean and new inside. Ordered the Bamboo shoots with pork and dry noodles, stewed beef with rice, and the sour and spicy cucumber salad. This place reminded me of when I lived in China, especially the pickled vegetables my mom would buy and use in home cooked dishes. Loved it. Would definitely come back. Also has my favorite herbal tea and plum juice.
I had the S2. Chairman Mao's favorite braised pork, soup noodle and was blown away. The broth was flavorful, the veggies fresh, and the noodles tender. The pork was extremely tender and juicy. The restaurant is clean and staff very friendly if you've never been before. Definitely a place I'll come back to!
Keepin it real out here in the part of LIC with nothing going on It's a great clean spot for food with great customer service. The interior is very modern and minimalistic. The food can get spicy depends on what you order and is pretty good overall. Great addition to that part of LIC since there isn't much going on other than the few luxury rental buildings.

I got the mapo tofu it came with a small bowl of rice. I asked the cashier and they said it was vegan. I’m a sucker for the sichuan pepper numbing effect so I loved it. People not familiar with it might find it be an experience lol

We got the Kung Pao chicken and the Chongqing chicken. They were both fantastic! The food was packaged very well and came with rice and was extremely tasty. It also came in a large quantity. We're definitely gonna order from here again.
Really good food, very flavorful. Thought the prices were as aspected. Not cheap but quality. The takeout bag was also quality, I wasn’t afraid of it dropping on the way to the hotel. They put sticks, sauce, condiments and napkins in the bag.. super cool, I’ll definitely go back

This spot gets everything right from the food to the service. Excellent dishes and fair charges considering how much food was provided. The team shows kindness and helpfulness, and meals arrive quickly. The flavors combine perfectly here. I'm mentally scheduling my next visit.
The Chairman Mao's Braised Pork is good, I liked it with rice as the sauce gets soaked up with the rice. Is it the healthiest? No, but it is tasty. Besides the food, the place is clean, well kept and nice.
It was alright, however, there are a few things I'd like to point out: there was a quite strong garlic taste in my soup (maybe it's supposed to be in their recipe but I thought it was too much). I was disappointed that they serve food in single-use rather cheap looking plastic bowls (and plastic spoons) for dine-in customers. The air conditioner was blowing too cold, so I had to move to another table but it was still blowing strong when someone opened the door.
I had a great surprise at this Chinese restaurant! The staff was friendly and helped me choose the amazing spicy-chicken gizzards, which were full of flavor. The service was fast, portions were big, and the open kitchen was clean and busy. Plus, the prices were good! I'll definitely be back to try more dishes.

The food here was beyond outstanding, super spicy dry noodles and the meat was so tender it melted in my mouth. The only thing that I have to make you aware is that if you walk-in and expect decent customer service you are not going to get it, the cashier is super rude and dismissive. My friend and I were trying to order and she had her AirPods in and was mid conversation with someone else on her phone the entire time. I couldn’t hear what she was saying at some point and I said “what” and she literally yelled the entire sentence back to me which made me felt embarrassed in front of my friend. She passed me the receipt and then sat on a stack of water bottles behind the cash register and kept going with her phone conversation. Super rude for no reason. The food was great but If you have to endure the misery of a cashier I’d say order online or just skip this place at all cost. Saying “hello” or being nice to a paying customer is not that hard

I ate here three times in 10 days. It is very close to my storage space and after wrangling with boxes and my commute I get hungry. I order non- meat dishes because I am a vegetarian. The first two times was very decent but the last time I ordered on 10/9/25 the green beans and rice there was so much salt on the vegetables. I started to get a severe migraine about an hour later. I will not risk my health here again. The counter staff were super friendly.
