You must go here. And with family. It is family style dinner — we got short rib buns, crispy rice salad, green beans, mushrooms, walnut shrimp, scallops, and the pot au crème. Great atmosphere; we reminisced and laughed at many family memories over dinner.
This place has a nice take on fusion Asian cuisine. Seating is nice, the shaking beef is well seasoned and the mocktail drinks we had we pretty nice, would definitely recommend.
My partner and I went here for our anniversary dinner and found one of our new favorite restaurants in the city! Everything was amazing, from the atmosphere (including the music!) to the service to the drinks to the food. My partner had the King’s Ransom and I had the Thai Tea Martini. We both loved them. His was the best old-fashioned-esque drink he has ever had and as a huge thai tea lover, I was far from disappointed. The miso soup and steamed rice is a classic, hard to go wrong there. My partner had the Roasted Bone Marrow. It was rich and well-presented. The only reason it got a 9/10 is because he could have used some more bread. I got the Shaking Beef & Seared Scallops with everything that comes with it on the side. This is an accommodation that our waitress fought with the chefs to make for us on a busy Saturday night. The only reason I rated the Shaking Beef a 9/10 is because the salad it comes with adds nothing to the dish. My partner loved what came with the Seared Scallops, but I am picky, so I was not a fan. The Cacio E Pepe with the fried pork cutlet was delicious and unique. The chocolate ice cream was our anniversary bonus. The Thai Tea Crème Brûlée was also delicious and unique. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
My service was amazing! Joseph was my server and he was on top of it. The food was amazing, and the drinks were amazing as well! Will definitely be returning soon. This may be my new favorite spot!
Had a great first experience at Ruby Chow’s. I made a reservation at the bar on a Friday at 7:30, which at first I felt silly about, but was glad I did once it started to pick up. Paul, who was my bartender/server was awesome. He gave great recommendations and despite how busy it was, kept checking on me. The drink I had was really good, and the food was delicious. Not to mention the atmosphere was really great and the music was very refreshing. My only pain point was not taking something to go. I will definitely be back!
UPDATE: Easily the best restaurant in Atlanta. I had the Lobster Fried Rice and Seared Scallops this time and both were absolutely incredible. I can't believe I waited so long to try Ruby Chow's. This is a small plate/tapas, Asian fusion restaurant with all the flair of Ponce City. Market Hotlanta Vibes. Crush velvet and booths that sit below street level. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant. The service was excellent as well. We had a curry dish, and a few other things. 😆The curry dish was the standout! It is probably the best the best curry in the city, IMHO. This a great date restaurant for sure. Its right across from City Winery and they have valet parking in the garage. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.
Ruby Chow’s is a must-visit! The food is full of bold pan-Asian flavors—don’t miss the Pow Pow shrimp, cacio e pepe with a spicy twist, or the roti canai with curry. Cocktails are creative and strong, and the whole vibe is upscale and moody in the best way. It gets busy fast, so definitely make a reservation. Perfect for date night or dinner with friends. We’ll be back!
Came here for a little date night tonight! Staff were very sweet, food amazing, and Justin cabernet wine VERY good!
We’ve been wanting to check this place out for awhile and so glad we finally did! We sat outside as we had dogs. The ambience is very nice and they had a powerful fan which helped keep us cool. The service was impeccable- super friendly and attentive. The food was flavorful! I ordered the scallops and shaking beef - both had great flavors and seasonings. My husband has the spicy pork noodles.for dessert we had the mango sticky rive which was divine!! I’ll come back here again just for that dish alone! Highly recommended you check this place out!!
Although I only had drinks, I could see that the food was top tier! The drinks were mixed to perfection and the bartenders enhanced the experience! I wish that I remembered my bartender's name. I'll catch it when I return to try the food and I'll update this post with that review.
Came on a busy Friday night without a reservation and was able to get seated immediately at the bar. Their drinks were okay. My drink was a bit too sweet for my liking but the food made up for it. I recommend the scallops and the roasted bone marrow. Scallops in particular was super buttery and just melted in my mouth.
1000000/10!!!! This place was everything I could’ve dreamed of for a birthday dinner and more!!! I originally reserved my table for 8 pm but was busy running errands/celebrating my bday so I called and asked if I could push my reservation back to 9 pm and they accommodated us SO QUICKLY & SO KINDLY!!!!! No problems whatsoever 🥹 I truly cannot say enough about this place or the people that work there. Melanie was our server and she was so kind, attentive, personable, so full of light and personality, and just a truly wonderful human!!! She had the BEST energy!!! 🩷🩷 Thank you Melanie for everything!!!! The restaurant itself was so beautiful and everything we ate was some of the best food we’ve ever had. We had the green beans, the house salad, the shaking beef, the cacio e pepe, the katsu bun, the sticky rice with mango, and the Panna Cotta. The cocktails were PERFECT too!!! We had the Purple Rain and the It’s Always Been Yuzu. We were blown away!!! I cannot thank you guys enough for such a wonderful time and the best service !! We will be back asap!!!! 🩷 Thank you thank you thank you!!! (Melanie whatever you’re getting payed should be RAISEDDD GIRL!!!)
We had an incredible cocktail pairing dinner at Ruby Chow’s presented by The House of Suntory. Each course was thoughtful and delicious! The shrimp roll with lychee Cosmo started things off perfectly—crispy, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The miso cod was flaky and fresh, paired with a Siam Spritz (my least favorite but still creative). The standout? Spicy pork ribs with jicama slaw and rice—unexpected and absolutely perfect—paired with a King’s Ransom, a well-balanced cocktail with ginger and demerara. We ended with a unique matcha tiramisu and Harmonic Sound cocktail, which blended Thai tea and bitters in a surprising and smooth finale. The staff was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate. Can’t wait to go back!
Loved this place! The food was so great and the presentation amazing. Definitely would recommend the drinks 🍹
My husband and I enjoyed our dining experience at Ruby Chow's. The restaurant was unique, and had a great vibe. Our server Cassidy was kind and attentive. She made great suggestions and was very personable. I am happy to report that all the food that we had was delicious. There were many items that were creative, and well thought out. This is a place where I would love to come back to with friends to share tapas and cocktails with.
This place, let me tell you. The food and atmosphere is just what you want for a nice date night. Shaking beef is the bomb, but you better eat it as soon as you get it. Seared scallops are good as well. The kimchi fried rice was awesome as well. Service was top notch.
I had an excellent dinner at Ruby Chow’s. There are so many delicious options to choose from. I had an array from the menu but some of the highlights were the Peking Duck Mantou, the Sweet Corn Soup, and the Mango Sticky Rice. My server was attentive and kind— the ambience has a chill, upscale atmosphere that makes for a pleasant date night. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough— there are so many other dishes I want to try when I return!! While definitely on the expensive side, it well worth it for a great experience and delicious meal.
What can I say about this place, fairly surprised when I walked in! I assumed it was going to be very low-key dining experience. however, the other patrons were a bit more dressed. It’s a perfect place for a date night, but I still didn’t feel out of place because it’s still a casual dining experience. The service was great and the food was phenomenal. We didn’t have a reservation, but the hostess was very sweet and so we decided to sit at the bar. usually I do not like sitting at the bar if I’m not alone however, the bartenders that night really made my night made a great experience overall. We definitely will be going back soon and making this our go to place for great cocktails and bites!
The vibe of this place is great, food is unique and had a lot of interesting dishes to try. My recommendations are the shaking beef, fried oysters and spicy pork noodles. Great place to get drinks as well!
At first I was kinda skeptical, BUT Really great experience & ambiance. Attentive service. Great quality food & well-made drinks. Something different. No sushi nor lo mein type of Asian cuisine. Authentic, secluded -private, contemporary, type of vibe. Very welcoming once inside. Best to make reservations but they accept walk-ins if there's availability. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The baked seafood dip, shakin beef, & bulgoni was scrumptious. The lychee cocktail was sensational. The lemon drop was also extremely satisfying. I'll definitely return... Highly recommend!!
Authentic and flavorful food with an amazing ambiance. This week I visited Ruby Chows, an Asian restaurant near Ponce City Market. And they did not disappoint! Feels like you stepped into a scene of a movie. The floral wallpaper and oriental style/decor was welcoming as well as the burgundy and red all over the restaurant. My waitress ,Renee, was very polite, soft spoken and gave great recommendations for items on the menu. Also very attentive ( ask for her if you go!) Now to the food and drinks For my drinks I got Naked & Infamous, a tequila cocktail that was refreshing. For food, I got the seared scallops and wontons. Both were very good and packed in lots of flavor along with good texture. But the WONTONS, are to die for! I was told that they make them fresh every morning. For desert, I got the mango sticky rice.
We went to Ruby Chows to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately we did not have a reservation so we had to sit at the bar. But, it was fortunate that we sat at the bar because our bartender was AWESOME! He was very attentive to our needs. Explained stuff on the menu and, best of all, he put together some mocktails for us as we both don't drink alcohol. Both drinks were wonderful. We ordered the scallops, walnut shrimp and basil chicken. The chicken was a Lillie boring to me but the hubby liked it. I like the scallops and the shrimp. We topped off the meal with the pot au creame which was a decedent chocolate bowl of wonderfulness.
I love tapas & intimate settings which Ruby Chow has both. This was my first time at this restaurant and I was blown away. Everything was delicious & your food comes out fast & hot. The service was phenomenal. We were constantly being checked on and my water was constantly being refilled. They even have a service button at every table. My only complaint is the sake butter mussels & general tso’s chicken. The mussels didn’t have any flavor & the chicken taste like something you could’ve bought at the mall. Those two tapas I could’ve went without but the drinks were also delicious. This place is perfect for date nights or nights out with your friends. I highly recommend making a reservation & they also have valet parking. Until next time because I will be back!!
Amazing food and a super cute interior. I loved all the dishes we tried...bone marrow, walnut shrimp, shrimp dumplings, pork belly with grits, sizzling beef ...everything was tasty! The drinks were excellent. The lychee drink that I was was refreshing and tasty! The desserts were fabulous. I loved the earl grey tea brulee and the mango sticky rice a bit the chocolate cake was amazing!!
I’m obsessed with Ruby Chows! Great ambiance, great food and great servers. Plates are tapas, meaning small portions. Some can be shared but you may not want to after tasting it! Totals can add up pretty quick due to the prices but you will not be disappointed! Make sure to make a reservation because they get packed!! Roti Cani, both shrimp dishes, Duck Steamed Buns and the Brussel sprouts are my fave! Please bring back the crab steamed buns !
I was super impressed on my first visit to this restaurant. I went with a friend and we shared a few dishes, all were delicious. I loved the atmosphere so much that I can't wait to come back for a date night and sit at the bar with my boyfriend. We love to have drinks and share appetizers and enjoy great ambiance whenever we have the chance!
Incredible food, drinks, and atmosphere. This is a top 3 in Atlanta for me, and I love taking out of towners here. Request a seat inside, bottom floor for the best vibes. Share everything as a table. Also a great spot for solo diners—bar seats are first come first serve. Valet available in back.
Ruby Chow is a gem. The food is flavorful and thoughtfully crafted, and each dish has its own character without feeling overdone. I especially enjoyed how the menu felt familiar yet refreshingly playful — dishes start with comforting, recognizable flavors, then add a fun twist that keeps things interesting. It struck a nice balance between creativity and comfort, and it’s a meal I kept thinking about afterward. The staff were warm and attentive in a way that felt genuine, not overly polished, which made the experience even better. I also liked the atmosphere — stylish and cozy without trying too hard. I noticed a few people dining solo and enjoying their time, which added to the welcoming vibe of the place. Whether you’re with someone or just taking yourself out, it feels like a spot you can relax into. Overall, it was a really enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. I’d definitely go back to try more dishes.
My husband and I dined here last night after hearing about it for years. We were blown away! Great drinks and food. Such a cool city vibe. Definitely recommend for a fun night out for date night or with friends.
one of my new favorite restaurants. i tried the shaking beef, salt and pepper calamari, basil chicken and the pow pow shrimp and everything was incredible. i had a fallen from grace cocktail and my gf had the emerald dreams(?), i think it was called. both drinks were amazing. can't wait to come back here.
Absolutely AMAZING. We have been meaning to try it for years, and we are SO glad we finally did. We got the L.A. Galbi & Katsu steamed buns, Chengdu Brussel Sprouts, and Maitake Mushrooms to start. For entrées, we did the Shaking Beef, Walnut Shrimp, and Pork Kimchi Fried Rice. Seriously, every single thing was phenomenal. Not a single critique. We sat at the bar, and Chase was our server and bartender. She was THE best and took excellent care of us. Will be back ASAP!
The drinks here were absolutely spot on—balanced, flavorful, and clearly crafted with skill. The bartenders added so much to the experience, making it feel personal and enjoyable. I wish I had caught my bartender’s name, because they really elevated the whole visit with their expertise and friendly approach. The atmosphere made it easy to relax and savor every sip, and it’s clear the team takes pride in what they do. I’m already looking forward to coming back to try the food, which I’ve heard is just as impressive as the drinks. When I do, I’ll be sure to share a full review of the meal. For now, I can confidently say that the bar experience alone is worth a visit—it’s a perfect combination of great drinks, skillful bartending, and welcoming vibes.
A fantastic, but expensive dining experience. The food is EXCELLENT and the service is on point. You can dine outside, inside on the lower level, or upstairs. You will be treated to nice decor and fast service wherever you opt to sit. Diners do not dress up to eat here- casual attire is more than fine. The menu is comprised of expertly prepared asian style tapas dishes you would expect to find at nicer Asian restaurants. The difference is in the quality. The small dishes are small ish but a little bigger than the phrase "small plates" would indicate. You can have one small plate, which does not come with a side, and a side or 2 and be absolutely full. The sprouts may be the best in the city. Every dish is at least a 7, except the steamed rice, which is just that. The downside is that the drinks, even the mocktails, are expensive. The price is a high for the experience. Valet is required, but it is only $5. Most of the small plates start around $15 and the sides are $7 to $10. The drinks are $10 or more with many $15 or higher and served in small glasses. It's easy, if not expected, that you will spend $50 per person or more. That is fine, but the restaurant does not feel like it should cost that much. Ruby Chow's is located across Ponce City Market. The parking is off of Glen Iris and is valet only. It's easy to miss the sign, so you have to look closely for the sign about 1/2 a block before the light if you are turning off Ponce.
A warm yet inviting & upscale Asian fusion restaurant, with a super friendly atmosphere & stylish Oriental decor. We didn't have reservations yet were able to sit at the bar. Kevin, our Bartender/Server extended us such amazing & engaging service during our first visit here. All the staff we encountered offered the same welcoming service. The seating options vary; main dining area with booths & tables, the spacious bar & private dining upstairs. The food menu offers shareable selections providing a great way to try different dishes. The Vegan options are plenty (about 6-7 offerings) - I had an order of Spring Rolls to hold me over. My Brother had the Basil Chicken in a garlic & lightly sweet sauce & puff rice. The curated menu of libations includes unique cocktails & a few high-quality wines & beers. Overall the menus had a flexible price point, especially for a small party of 2-3. They offer Half-off Bottle of Wines on Mondays. Reservations are limited to 90 minutes & the patio tables are limited to 2-4 guests. Street parking or Valet for $5 which is located in the parking garage next door.
The food, drinks, and service were absolutely amazing!! My only gripe and -1⭐ is because of the prices for portions. I know it's tapas and you're meant to order a few plates per person, which is fine, but the small plates are as much as whole entrees. Next time I go, I'll have to bring a colleague or something to justify using the company card or something 😂 Seriously good food though, if you're a "foodie" or are going out for something worth splurging on, book a reservation and go!! It's delicious!! But maybe not ideal for a casual pop-in when you're not planning on $150 for 2 on a couple drinks, an appetizer, and a few small plates each.
It was fine but not fantastic. I was very limited because I don't eat egg & I'm pescatarian. If you eat meat this is the place for you. The kimchi was interesting, it was chopped into tiny pieces. The miso soup was room temp but good.
Love the ambience inside, did not like the hostess wanting to sit us at a table with a reservation within 1:45 min. And stated we should be done by then, politely asked for a table outside, the drinks were ok: forgot name drink ordered. Tried the basil chicken: taste alright but cooked too hard! Then tried the walnut shrimp cause reviews raved about it and they were right, it was so good I had to reorder it! Definitely try that if you go!!! My friend had the wontons, they were alright to me but liked them, she ordered something with rice and raw egg on top, I tried the rice and tht was really good! They could update there tables outside! Other than that it was ok! Yes I would revisit! Oh also very important they have patkingbits $5 but please put ur ticket in the window or you will most definitely have a boot on ur car.
First time here. Came for date night. Atmosphere was nice, dim lights, music in the background. Took a bit for my server to come over but It was fine since I had to wait for my husband to park the car. The valet was full unfortunately. Our waitress was nice, and did recommend some drinks on the menu but unfortunately they weren't my taste. I did have to send one back but settled on the aperol jewel. I really wanted to order something not on the menu but was told I was unable to do so (or could order a classic drink - Manhattan etc). Reason being I was at a table not the actual bar. So I didn't like that, the table next to me also had the same complaint. Bartender should be able to make what's requested of the customer, even if we are sitting at a table. Had the brussel sprouts and they were delicious, miso soup was really good. Husband had the pork bun and the spicy pork noodles, noodles weren't really all that spicy but he has a high spice tolerance. He did say his food was good. Overall experience was ok. Nice to try but I doubt we would return.
This is a high-rated restaurant, but the quality wasn’t that impressive. The portions are extremely small. We had a beef dish that had no flavor, and was served room-temp. The lobster fried rice was really tasty but the portion was so small, not big enough for 2 adults to share. The service was not that attentive, but it was valentine’s day so not surprising. They claim they had valet but when we went to pick up the car, we had to wait in the cold for 15min because the valet person was nowhere to be found. We actually had to walk back to the restaurant to find him (and get our keys), which was very odd.
Service was wonderful, the drinks were great and the food tasted good. What got me here was the portion sizes. It’s supposed to be family style/sharable but it’s more like tapas. Not Chinese style. We ordered the “Larger Plates” Pork and Kimchi Fried Rice and there was maybe 3 cups of rice in a small bowl. Very disappointing given the pricing. Would be best for 2-3 people eating together.
Atmosphere was nice with dim lighting. Our server was attentive. The food was small plates and overall, okay. Compared to the drinks, the food was good. My friend enjoyed her snapper fish meal and I order the crispy rolls and basil chicken. Although the food was decent, I don’t think it’s worth coming back for. Also, the cocktails were terrible. My espresso martini was the worst I’ve ever had. We were hoping to make this a one stop shop for the night. However, we ended up going to another cocktail bar to get better drinks. For one drink and one meal, our total was around $50 each. I also payed $5 for valet parking in the back and parked the car myself (lol, smh). However, I’m relieved it wasn’t $10-$20 like most spots.
This was my first time visiting Ruby Chow's. We choice this place because of the peking duck buns and soft-crab BLT buns. Made my reservation for Monday @ 7pm. Arrived and the man at the host stand was very nice. We were sat, looked over the menus, and ordered cocktails. We were told that they don't serve the buns on Mondays. And I couldn't get the fried rice bowl without the pork. No exceptions! My bf ordered the stuffed quail. I ordered the coconut corn soup (Luke warm) and the side salad.. We received our food and still no cocktails. We asked about them and the server says, " what drinks?!" And laughs. Bottom line we didn't get anything that we came for. Service was lacking. But the server who ran the food was very nice. Wish we had a better experience.
Hot soup served cold. Tables pushed so close together you can't even squeeze into the booth. So I asked for a different table in the near empty restaurant -- Romantic valentines dinner was then directly next to the kitchen door (while we could plainly see 8 empty tables in the main dining room). They dont even answer the phone, they direct you to email. This was an overpriced valentines day mistake.
This was one of the worst food delivery experiences I have ever had, and it raises serious safety concerns. My Uber Eats order arrived in an OPEN bag — not sealed, not stapled, not secured in any way. In 2026, basic food safety should not be optional. Because the bag was open, there is no way to know whether my food was tampered with, and frankly, it looked like it had been dug through. The containers were messy and disturbed, not at all how food should arrive from a professional restaurant. The food itself was poor quality and absolutely not what was advertised in the photos. My total order was $56, and I did not eat a single bite because I did not feel safe consuming it. That is money completely wasted. I attempted to contact the restaurant directly, but their voicemail box is full and they do not answer their phone. That alone speaks volumes about how seriously they take customer concerns. Do not eat at this restaurant — and especially do not order through Uber Eats. They do not take food safety, packaging, or quality seriously, and customers should not be expected to gamble with their health for overpriced, poorly handled food. Extremely disappointed and would never trust this restaurant again.
Not recommended. Food is not good. Even the most expensive item on the menu is bad. How could one mess up a lobster fried rice! We had other items too, still not good. Everything is too sweet. It’s like eating greasy dessert for dinner.
Well I liked the restaurant a lot until tonight. I was on a date and everything was going well until the server came over and told us they wanted us to leave because there was another reservation. I was about to order another round of drinks, we'd had two already and had 4 menu items. The restaurant was near capacity but there were other tables open inside, but then we stepped onto the patio where almost every table was open. Unfortunately, I likely won't be back or recommend it to others.
This used to be our favorite restaurant. It went downhill so fast. Our meal was served with human hair in it. It was gross snd they wouldn't even exchange it. Just bad business decision, let alone a human decency issue. I don't get it. Also, they automated their phone system. You can't talk with a human anymore. Only a robot. Will never return here.
Mediocre cuisine is forgiven by ambience, which is why I’ve continued to return with family and friends. But the disrespect with which we were met tonight was absolutely absurd. Minutes after paying our bill (over $200) we were visited by a host who said “we have a reservation waiting for your table, so you’ll need to leave.” To be clear, we were not lingering beyond our welcome. We’d only been seated for 90 minutes and still had full drinks. Our server (who was wonderful) did nothing to intervene. I can only assume that management here is authoritarian and prioritizes turning over tables instead of quality food and inviting service. Ps- we’d had our reservation for weeks… this was not a “walk in” group being rushed due to a reservation.
A Masterclass in Overcharging and Under Delivering I really wanted to enjoy this spot, but the experience felt more like a transaction than a meal. If you’re looking for a place that values your presence (and your appetite), this isn’t it. We were told to leave our table for another reservation minutes after being served a second round of drinks. I will be going to Northern China Eatery in the future.
I visited Ruby Chows after hearing great things, but my experience was disappointing from start to finish. Service was slow throughout our meal; our drinks often arrived after the food, and some dishes took so long we received repeated apologies from our waitress. The shaking beef and most other dishes were surprisingly bland, and the miso soup was only lukewarm, not hot as expected. We left the galbi bun unfinished, though the bone marrow was decent. The tables felt too close together for comfort, leaving us a bit too involved in a neighboring couple's first date. By the end, we just wanted to pay and leave, as the food and service did not live up to the hype. I wouldn't recommend Ruby Chows, and would much rather spend my money at other restaurants in Atlanta like Delbar, Fudo's, Eight, Umi, or Barcelona instead.
