This is a gem ramen place in the heart of Auburn. I’ve been here several times and I love the black tonkatsu ramen each time. The brought is full of flavor, noodles were cooked to perfection and the whole experience is superb. My daughter also ordered the other types of ramen and also so flavorful. This place is clean, nice decor and very friendly staff. This is my go-to when craving for ramen.
I stumbled into this hole in the wall ramen shop in Auburn like a moth into a lava lamp: dazed, twitchy, soul-hungry. No signage worth trusting. No crowd to follow. Just the faint scent of pork bone alchemy bleeding into the parking lot air, whispering “Come. Abandon your gods.” A weathered menu on the table like a ransom note. I ordered the black garlic tonkotsu with an egg because when in doubt, follow cholesterol. First slurp: BOOM. I left my body. My bones turned to gelatin. That broth had the depth of an unpaid therapist; rich, creamy, slightly salty, with a whisper of garlic that kissed the back of my brainstem and told me secrets about my childhood. Noodles? Springy, like they’d been kneaded by a jaded sensei with calloused hands and a grudge against overcooking. The egg? Jammy. Sinful. The yolk stared at me like it knew what I did last summer. The radio was playing some uplifting Asian-pop that made the panko shrimp feel like an emotional support side dish. The only other customer was an old guy in a Seahawks jacket who looked like he used to run a fight club in the ‘80s. He nodded at me once, and I felt knighted. I left changed. Transformed. Reborn. Auburn’s best-kept secret is a ramen joint that doesn’t care if you like it. But you will. Trust me, you will.
Solid. Creamy tonkotsu with tons of umami. Noodles were on point - perfect texture and flavor. Onsen egg wasn't just cooked perfectly, but had a definitely been in a rich marinade - depth of flavor and a nice dark color on the outside. We got a couple of their drinks and they were delicious. It's a little hole in the wall right out of Japan.
This is a very cute ramen shop and the decor is very nice. We were seated right away and service was fast and I ordered the black garlic tonkotsu ramen. It was delicious and the pork was soft and tender. Food was brought out right away. Overall very good experience.
I finally have a legitimate ramen place to go to close to home! Super tasty broth. Great service and super friendly staff. Must try their matcha latte or milk tea. They just got some milk tea from Japan and it was so good! Also a small restaurant so you may have to wait for a table. Be prepared.
Just tried this ramen and its SO GOOD!! The interior is cute and cozy, the staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. The Black Garlic Ramen is amazing but something about the Takoyaki was off, I couldn't figure out what it was so I didn't finish it. I will be back many times over for ramen tho!
I’ve been here about half a dozen times now, and each time I’ve left extremely satisfied. It’s nice to have a good ramen and katsu don place here in Auburn. In fact, I prefer the ramen here compared to what was once my favorite place in Federal Way. Both their spicy and black tonkotsu ramen are absolutely delicious. They give that first-sip satisfaction that just heals me when the days get colder and more gloomy. During the warmer months, I’m kind of obsessed with their chilled tofu. The sauce it comes with rotates, so sometimes it’s shoyu based, and other times it’s a sesame dressing with shaved bonito flakes on too. It’s so simple and clean. Their katsu curry dons are so comforting to me. More than anything, I could probably eat this every day. Everyone who’s ever served me here has been really nice. I’m not a hugely talkative person, and so for me they strike that right balance between tending to my needs and letting me eat and chill.
AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! This is an adorable restaurant, small cozy 6 tables and some stools. Hostess had us take a seat and was right over to take our order. Spicy tonkatsu, green tonkatsu, and classic. Gyoza, karrage, and steamed pork buns(takes 20 min but an amazing mid meal flavor!) A beer,a coke, and a ginger lemon refresher. Ramen was amazing all the way around spicy where it needs herbal for the green the eggs are soft and gooey, pork was tender soft flavorful. The Gyoza were out of this world delicate and so much subtle flavor. All around this is the best ramen in auburn and the surrounding area they deserve a visit and a rating for those that love traditional ramen! Show up, eat and be happy! Would have added photos but it was too good to wait!
A simple but very good Japanese restaurant. Super delicious ramen soup, very friendly staff, and hardly any waiting time. I'll gladly come again.
First time at this restaurant. The person at the register which does the serving is very friendly. It is a cozy little place, clean, good food, and prices of their food is not bad either. Highly recommended!
Got takeout via DoorDash and boy I’m glad I did. This is the best chicken curry katsu bowl I’ve had since being in Washington. The presentation even for delivery is awesome and the flavors are amazing, the curry itself gives off a sweet tone which I don’t mind. I also purchased a milk tea, it’s good but small for almost 8 dollars. Overall a good place to get dinner. 🤭
A delicious hole-in-the-wall ramen restaurant. Stick with the ramen and you won't be disappointed; they don't need the "and more" on the menu, it's okay but the ramen is where they shine. I got the spicy pork tonkotsu ramen and it was excellent. They make the noodles and everything for the soup in house. The broth is rich and has a good depth of flavor.
I went here for lunch and the ramen was exactly what I was in the mood for. The Classic Tonkotsu Ramen was delicious and well portioned for an individual. Overall the restaurant is kinda small so I wouldn’t bring big groups but if you and a partner are looking for traditional ramen, I would definitely recommend. I would love to go back and try more options and the gyoza.
I recently visited Isshin ramen for the first time, and it was an experience worth noting. I opted for the Black Tonkotsu Ramen, which turned out to be quite satisfying—definitely above average in flavor. The broth had a rich, deep taste, which was enhanced even further with a sprinkle of black pepper; it brought out a whole new dimension of savoriness. One thing that stood out was the contrast between the restaurant’s exterior and its interior ambiance. From the outside, it may not seem particularly inviting, but once you step inside, you’re welcomed by a warm and cozy atmosphere. The interior is both comforting and inviting, making it an excellent spot to relax and enjoy a hearty bowl of ramen. All in all, Isshin ramen offers a surprisingly delightful dining experience that goes beyond first impressions, especially if you’re a fan of well-crafted ramen with a personal touch.
Best you can have in Auburn, WA. Everything is good and if it’s not spicy enough for you don’t worry ! They have the chili at the table to use at your own discretion. Friendly staff , peaceful atmosphere, good music , great beer . I came here for a hangover and stayed for the food weekly
Flavorful broth and perfectly cooked ramen. Meat is tender. We ordered the spicy tonkatsu ramen. Wait wasn’t long. The scallion pancakes dipped in chili oil and soy sauce was delicious. I’m a big fan of crispy pancakes. 🤤
Best ramen I’ve had. Broth was deep in flavor, noodles tasted like broth and good texture, egg and chashu soft and full of flavor. Service was good. Place was cold but once the ramen came we didn’t even notice. I wanted another bowl as soon I finished!
We’ve been here countless times, and it’s honestly the best ramen I’ve had in Seattle! The black garlic ramen is incredibly flavorful, the milk tea is delicious, and the service is always so friendly. We’ll definitely keep coming back!
09/18/25 Today I got the classic tonkatsu. It was great. I would def come back here. The pork broth was light but rich, silly smooth and flavorful. The bowl was on the smaller side compared to other places but it was worth it. Next time I'll try the spicy one.
Delicious ramen with rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and great drinks too. Definitely coming back! 🍜
This is, hands-down, the best ramen we have ever had in the state of Washington. I ordered the Black Tontaksu, and my wife had the Spicy Tontaksu, and we were both blown away. The broth was flavorful without feeling oily or too salty, and the soft-boiled egg had a perfect jammy texture in the center. I highly recommend their house drink, a ginger refresher deal that just hits in all the right ways. Finding this place was such a happy accident, and we will absolutely be back for as long as we can!
This is definitely my favorite local ramen shop, the service is fast and kind, and the food always tastes great, sisi and Caroline are always kind to the customers when I see them and always make sure we have everything we need.
Wife and I had a wonderful experience here and can’t wait to come back for more! Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen was wonderful with a mean bite to it. Music choice was also wonderful with Japanese city pop playing in the background. Please support!
Best ramen in the area!!! Very welcoming experience from the start, the atmosphere is peaceful and clean. The waitress provided great friendly service, we will become regular customers! + they give you a punch-coupon. It was DELICIOUS!!
Small and quaint little ramen place, with a simple but cozy environment. Ordered a spicy tonkotsu ramen with added garlic oil, and a spicy tan tan ramen and it was SO good. Very flavorful, perfect amount of spice, and lots of noodles. Definitely will be coming back, plus they offer a ramen punch card for a free ramen after 9 bowls purchased. Service was great too, very polite and attentive.
Very nice addition in Auburn! The Black Tonkotsu Ramen was very rich in flavor; well seasoned and wasn’t bland or too salty. The toppings included also gave extra texture and depth to the ramen. You get a nice crunch from both the bamboo & ear wood mushroom with each ramen bite. Love me a good soft boiled ramen egg and tender cha shu topping on ramen. Scallion pancakes cooked to a nice golden brown crunch exterior coupled with a very comforting chew interior. Service was also very fast and friendly, went in on a Monday night for dinner and they said they’re slow on the weekdays. Hopefully they stay in good business and attract many people throughout the weekday and weekends included!
Honestly it was amazing, definitely coming back. You’re missing out by not trying this place out.
We ordered chashu don pork bowl, cucumber salad, classic and black tonkotsu without egg. Prices and portion sizes were reasonable. We ordered to go and the broth came in a 16oz container which is a little smaller than some other restaurants, but the food was filling and we didn't feel it was lacking. The cucumber salad was very spicy, with ginger and hot peppers. I wasn't expecting this, nor did I expect it to mostly be carrots and celery - I was expecting more like sunomono salad. So I recommend to the restaurant that they add better descriptions to their menu. Chashu don was very flavorful. Ramen was good, nothing notable but exactly what you'd expect. Service was good, we ordered in the restaurant and waited in our car and it only took 5-10 minutes and they brought it curbside.
A new ramen shop opened near my home, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the ramen was! The broth was rich and flavorful, especially the bone soup, which was absolutely fantastic. The black garlic ramen is a must-try—it’s packed with flavor and truly a standout dish. The lemon ginger refresher was incredibly refreshing and the perfect complement to the meal. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

We were in the area and very hungry. This was rated well in Google Maps. It is a small restaurant and wasn’t busy since we were having a late lunch. We enjoyed our ramen soup. They were delicious.
This is definitely my favorite local ramen shop, the service is fast and kind, and the food always tastes great, sisi and Caroline are always kind to the customers when I see them and always make sure we have everything we need.
Small and quiet. The broth is very rich and has a good flavor. I would say it’s top 5 for the pierce county area. The price is also good for what you get

We had the black Tonkotsu Ramen and chicken Katsu curry both were amazing. This is the best ramen I have had in Seattle. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I would give this place a try if you’re in Auburn.
Cute little spot, in kind of a weird spot haha. I had the beef udon and I forgot what the bf had- but the food was delicious! Their lemon ginger refresher was also light and indeed refreshing. Perfect portions of ramen/udon. Lovely server too she was so sweet ♡
Wow, this ramen spot is a total gem! The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful, the noodles had the perfect chew, and all the toppings were super fresh. Every single spoonful was a delight. &&& The curry katsu don was sooooo freaking good. Not too heavy either. And our server shes very sweet and attentive! Definitely coming back for more!
Katie was very nice and polite! She offered hand crafted Japanese Ramen dishes and food! They also have some delicious drinks on the menu! Affordable and delicious and great atmosphere! 😋

The chicken was a little on the hard chewy side. Service was good no complaints there. There wasn’t a lot of people when we went though. Takoyaki was my favorite thing on the menu!

I was in the city of Auburn and hungry and decided to stop in here for a late lunch. The aesthetic is very pretty and staff was very friendly and attentive. Everything arrived in a moderate respectable time. I got four items. Chicken Karaage, Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, Vegetable Croquette, and Iced Chocolate Milk. Karaage was average. Not too greasy and decent flavor. Served very hot out of the fryer. Came with the standard mayo dip. Juicy enough. 6/10 Iced Chocolate Milk was basically watery milk and cocoa powder. Nothing special here. Pass. 4/10 Vegetable Croquette was fine, but heavily greasy and personally I don't care for the dressing on top that was drizzled. Wouldn't get again. 5/10 Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen has some kick but isn't unbelievably spicy. If you think tobasco is hot then you will not like this, but if you regularly eat spicy food like me and enjoy it you'll find this to be in good flavor. Noodles were well cooked. The bamboo shoots tasted a bit off and wood ear mushroom was fine. I opted for no seaweed and chashu and egg were invisible. Still had good spice level. Its not bad. 6/10 Overall it's a decent little spot, but a bit pricy for what you're actually getting. $48 for all that with tip. Take that as you will in deciding. Overall, 6/10 ⭐

To go portions are incredibly small and scant. Really more like kids meal sized servings. Curry katsu was too salty and chicken was mainly breading (see photo). Tonkatsu ramen broth was decent, but you only get two thin slices of meat. For comparison the ramen takeout bowl size is about similar to what you'd get in an instant ramen bowl or less. For the price there's better ramen shops one city over that give you more food for what you're paying here. Overall disappointed by how stingy the takeout portions were. And would not recommend the curry katsu.
Food is great. But the service was terrible. The Chinese lady at the front desk was busy looking at her phone all the time and didn’t seem to be interested in serving us. We had to walk to the front a few times to ask for things ourselves. And also no “bye” of any sort upon us leaving. Not a good experience. It’s a shame since the food is not bad.
Had lunch here with my boyfriend. The ramen came out room temperature, and the kitchen seemed overwhelmed. The overall vibe felt rushed and chaotic. Everything was just okay. Might try again after the holiday rush.

I rarely do any reviews but as I sit in my car from just now picking up my order, I’m upset. The young lady in the front was SO rude. Nasty attitude. Even the customer sitting next to the register gave me that look because of the way she was acting. I loved coming here, but this is the second time she acts this way, no thanks. You don’t feel welcome when the people who work there act this way. Thanks but no thanks, rather make the drive to FW.
