Bistro Vonish

High Quality vegan food. I usually keep places secret but this one was so good, I had to add my 2c review. The menu speaks volumes that this place has taste, style, talent. All made in house. Baked goods to blow your mind. Good portion size and reasonable pricing. Everything feels fresh and healthy. Blown away. But not by the fans, which aren't exactly blowing on the seating but overhead...tweak the fans and you are extra golden. Thank you n hope to get more cinnamon rolls soon 💚

Vegan brunch elevated to the max. The textures were perfect, and everything was savory beyond belief.

Food here is soooo delicious, and feels a little upscale. Hard to believe it comes out of a food truck!

I slept on this place. This food is elevated, affordable, and simply beautiful. It is very plant forward which I love. The flavors for every dish I’ve tried are chef’s kiss. The portions are generous. I’m pregnant and ever since I had the seitan baguette sandwich last week, I want to keep going back for more! Baby loves it. They’re table to keep their prices low because they operate out of a food truck, but the food could easily be served at an expensive restaurant. Support this business so they stay around!

The baked mac and cheese was great. The barbeque sandwich and the buns were good too.

Bistro Vonish is hands-down my favorite restaurant - vegan or not - in the world. I've been going here regularly since they opened 10 years ago, and what makes Bistro V special is the ridiculous amount of love and flavor Chef Craig puts into all of his dishes. Everything is made from scratch, all of the ingredients are fresh, and you can tell how much thought and effort is put into every entree, side, or dessert. From a decade of eating here, I can tell you with confidence that the food is consistently amazing every time. It's so good I always end up getting an entree and multiple sides, or splitting multiple entrees with my wife. 10/10, best on the planet.

The bbq seitan sandwich was incredible! I can't believe seitan can be made to taste so much like it's harmful, sliced brisket counterpart. We'll be returning customers for sure. Thank you for offering delicious cruelty-free vegan options! You make the world a better place. :)

I have a gluten allergy and a dairy allergy, so when I saw gluten free mac and cheese at a vegan food truck I was pretty excited. Ordering was easy. The wait was minimal and the employee even asked if we'd be okay waiting longer than usual because they just started making a new batch. By the time we went into the bakery next door and grabbed some sweets for later, our order was ready. I NEED to know what kind of gluten free pasta they use for the mac and cheese because it's texture is suspiciously normal. I didn't have a gluten reaction so I know it's gluten free pasta but the texture was a close to regular pasta as it gets. It was delicious. My boyfriend got the spicy mac and cheese and it's a subtle, warm heat. Also, the gluten free sweet potato arepas are really good. They're a little dry, but the jalepeno jam and vegan cream cheese that comes with it nullify that issue. Definitely adding this place to our rotation of food spots!

6 out of 5 on food :) They are clean and keep their outfits clean and proper, which I care about most when I eat from a food truck. I am sick of seeing long, messy-haired people handling food without hair nets, not putting their hair up, not using gloves, or touching people's cards with the same glove they prepare the food with. Don't even make me start on nails. Anyway, their kolaches are delicious.

Amazing! We ate here first over a year ago and literally dreamed of their Mac n cheese. Such a treat to have an entire gf and vegan selection. Returned today and enjoyed the arepa as well. Fresh vegan food made with love and inspiration. The Sunday brunch combo is a great deal AND delicious. The kolaches are fantastic, as well. Always make a point to visit here when I get to Austin. The sweet potato gnocchi and spicy brussel sprouts mac were superb.

This place is AMAZING! Family and I went for the first time today. Cherry French toast is the best French toast I’ve ever had in my entire life. Tofu scramble delicious. Mushroom asparagus quiche was also feeling yummy. Gonna be a top pick for us going forward. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

first time visitor here and I was absolutely blown away by the quality and flavor of the food. everything came out hot and fresh, the seating area was lovely, and the surrounding businesses made for a very pleasant afternoon with my girls and made the wait feel nonexistent. I ordered the spicy brussel mac and cheese and the crispy seitan ranch sandwich and my only regret is not ordering more lol. the mac and cheese was rich and comforting, complimented by the funky, earthy taste of the brussel sprouts and whatever magic seasoning accompanied them. the crispy seitan sits on fluffy, toasty ciabatta and is topped with lettuce and some sort of mayo (or aioli?) and presents a sandwich that’s simple, straightforward, and still somehow so, so good. if the aroma filling the space around the kitchen doesn’t cause you to float towards it like a cartoon character, let this review bring you there instead. great experience, great food, and definitely a go-to next time I’m in town. photo included isn’t the best but I devoured it before I could get a proper pic. just trust, it’s 10/10.

The truck sits among two other vegan friendly food trucks and has multiple picnic tables and even a fire pit. Bistro Vonish serves hot apple cider, which is perfect for enjoying by the fire. The menu changes often, but the options offered are always creative, unique, and beautifully plated. Gluten free options are noted on the menu for those with die restrictions. Definitely stop by for the Mac n Cheese happy hour on Thursdays from 4-8. Maybe even grab a cinnamon roll to take home while you're there!

Not only is the owner patience and always striving for customer satisfaction, but you can really taste the amount of care he puts in his products. The majority of ingredients/items found on the menu are all prepared in their truck - not easy to do! The spinach mushroom kolache was a delight to eat by itself, but the tangy and spicy sauces did complement its taste (it did numb the natural taste of the kolache however). Also, the Thursday Night Potato Gnocchi is worth a trip over here on a Thursday night! Each bit introduced a new flavor, and they nailed it with the fresh taste. This place and it’s owner are going places! Keep it up!

You won't find this animal or any other animals inside the food truck, but you might find a couple outside. it's a two person spectacular. (from what I can see. I wouldn't be surprised to find out theres more help behind the scenes.) the food is an experience. the compassion is just a bonus benefit! I have been impressed with every selection.

The place is unassuming. You sit outside because you're at a food truck mini park, but do not let that fool you. The food isnt diner food. The gluten free Mac and cheese with Brussel sprouts was so delicious. I’m kind of obsessed with brussel sprouts right now and can’t get enough of them. Adding them to the Mac was a delicious pairing. I also ordered the Sautéed Greens. They were equally as delicious, however the picture of the portion size on the menu was very misleading.

I go to Austin regularly for band practice, to play shows, attend concerts and see friends. The following morning always has me hungover near the point of death with a reduced life expectancy, but I go to Bistro Vonish and it brings me to life like the evanescence song. The spicy, gluten-free Mac & cheese is my favorite but followed closely by the fried mushrooms, and the cornbread with kale and gravy is always great too. Ben from War Master works there too, that guy rips. Highly recommended!

Wow! Truly amazing a little bit expensive, but by far an ideal experience with every bite. I was immediately satisfied with both of my choices. Which was the ever so delicious Smoked Green Tomato w/ Kale & Potato paired with the Famous BBQ Seitan Sandwich I will be telling everyone about this place!

I've been frequenting Bistro for the better part of a decade now, and their food has remained top quality. The guy that runs the truck is awesome as well. Hours are more restrictive than they used to be but I'm just glad they're still around. Give them a try if you haven't yet

First time guest - they were really friendly and helped me decide between two menu items. I tried the seitan kolache and it was delicious! Great smoky flavor in the filling, plus a zingy sauce to dip it in. Genius! Service was also really fast.

I came here a couple nights ago and I loooove the atmosphere (cute little outdoor nook of Hyde Park with a couple other food trucks and some jazz music). The woman who took our order was also really warm and made you feel welcome. I ordered the barbecue seitan sandwich and upon trying the first bites of the I was wowed by the flavors but the texture was a little off for me. It was a bit to hard and chewy for my liking but I tend to be most picky about textures when it comes to food so others may fully love and enjoy the dish. Overall, I'm glad they're trying to be innovative with vegan food and loved everything else about the experience so I'd definitely come back to try something different on the menu.
