Exceptional. So good we went here twice in one week. The gnocchi was as good as anything we had in Amalfi. Service can get a bit chaotic on weekends.

My sister and I stopped by and tried their oyster mushroom quiche and cappuccino - both delicious.

We were there with friends and enjoyed the place a lot. We were looking something with outdoor tables, the yard was quite and nice, with a shade in a hot weather. Food - yummy and looking so good. Very recommended

This café has the best beignets hands down out of all the places I've tried them within Austin and out of state. These beignets are super pillowy-soft, airy, and incredibly delicious, and I can certainly see myself coming back here regularly for them. I would love to see these being paired with some sort of berry cream spread, if they could add that, but the beignets hold well on their own!

Épicerie is an absolute gem — cozy, classy, and full of French-inspired comfort. The pastries are divine, the cheese selection is fantastic, and their brunch menu is always a winner. The staff are welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like a little corner of Paris tucked into Austin. A must-visit for foodies who appreciate simplicity done right.

Cute and unsuspecting little restaurant. I got a pastrami sandwich which was huge! French onion soup was delicious and I also got a lemon pastry with croissant dough which was pricey but so chewy and tasty!! Staff are super friendly and warm.

My love and I have driven by this place many times wondering if it was worth the drop in, well this day was a deliberate stop, and so glad we did. We just had a bartender recommend epicerie for thier shrimp poboy sandwich. But today the menu called to us a different way. When you walk in the bright decor and amazing pastries call you to the back of the room. Getting here for breakfast is our next plan. We decided quickly to try some late lunch cocktails. I had the chicory and tequila based espresso martini...yes it's bold and delicious. My love opted for the occtain sour a bourbon, citrus, basil, and egg white drink. It was sour and fresh. Loved them both. We always share...sharing is caring you know. Starting with the rainbow trout, it's like crudo with ingredients of dip to mix in. The ingredients are so fresh the dill just pops. Then it's onto the Beef pastrami sandwich. House made bread, slow cooked kraut. This sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've had not only in Austin but anywhere. It was fantastic. Comes with this perfectly house made pickles that cut the richness in the sandwich., just perfect. Today was a special kind of Monday, my love and I were wedding venue shopping...yes this amazing person has all of my heart and sharing my life with her and hers with me is just perfect. I got to share another beautiful lunch with the person I want be with all the time. The first person I want to share everything with. Every moment, every bite of food, sip of drink, smile and tears. I'm all your's my love, thank you for saying yes. Love your moon. 💋🖤💋🖤

European butter? Yes! Only the best ingredients here and mouthwatering pastries like this savory spinach artichoke danish! Oh yeah, and there is a fried basil leaf on top... 💚 Best of all, the team very kindly accommodated my request that it be gently heated in their oven 🙏

Exceptional, very special cafe/restaurant. Casual and cute yet chic and elegant atmosphere. Serving fantastic meals in a very reasonable price! The staffs are friendly and attentive. The best beignets I ever had (they serve 3. My photo shows 2, because I asked one to go). Highly recommend!

Creative & delectable food options including vegetarian & vegan as well as meat/ seafood. The only pastry bar items I've had were each delicious and possibly laced w/crack, so to speak. The wine is pricey; nice for a super special occasion. I find the indoor seating/ area less appealing than the outdoor. Indoor: kinda sterile, bright lights, hard edges. Highly recommended for occasional fancy dining! No complaints about the staff, either.

Past few times service has gotten much better, and food is still amazing with excellent coffee. Glad to see things running smoothly again! 😀 ** Previous review ** Updating from 5 stars to 3: The food is still awesome, and the place is still super cute. Unfortunately the service remains lackluster, long wait times for food (took 30mins after ordering), orders not taken properly (missing items), and staff was inattentive (empty drip coffees and water jugs at the table throughout the meal, forgotten condiments, forgotten orders, etc.) ** Previous review ** Food is always awesome. Beignets are super pillowey and delicious. Biscuits were moist and fun to eat. Croissant was crispy and buttery, and the fillings on the breakfast sandwich were delicious. Coffee was also really good. The cortado may not have "looked legit" but it definitely tasted legit, espresso was pulled to perfection and milk has good temperature. Service was a little off this time around (took a bit to get served, not super friendly, didn't bring us water). Overall, still a 5 star spot that I'll keep coming back to ❤️

While growing up, I recall my father often talking about enjoying New Orleans style Poboy‘s after he moved there when his time in the army was over. Recently, I’d read an article about Poboy style shrimp sandwiches one can enjoy in the Austin area and decided to try out this place. Amazingly delicious! Staff is quite friendly. It is easily seen driving along Hancock Drive. Plenty of parking. I will be coming here again!

Loved this Louisiana French style bakery and cafe. There are lots of sweets baked daily to choose and a good place for brunch.

I’m in town staying in the neighbourhood and I’m so glad I discovered this place. I went every day for breakfast/brunch and tried a variety of their food offerings. Their babkassant (babka with chocolate ganache and espresso glaze) is the most divine pastry I’ve ever had. No exaggeration. I also tried their kouign amann and spinach & artichoke danish which were also incredible. Their brunch menu items were super tasty as well, especially the quiche which sets the standard for how all quiche should be. The staff were warm and welcoming every day I visited. Really sad to be leaving this amazing spot behind!

Cute little spot. We ordered the Quiche, Chicken Schnitzel, Breakfast Sandwich, and Beignets and out of the 4 items, the Schnitzel was my least favorite. Quiche and Beignets were great, and the included salads were light and refreshing!

The service was easily a 10/10! I initially ordered a draft beer, but they didn't have any. Then I tried ordering a Bloody Mary and they didn't have all the ingredients to make it. I decided to not order a drink in the end. But then the waitress came back and gave me a Mimosa on the house as an apology! I was super thankful for that - that was ultra kind of them to do that.😊 The food was also amazing. I ordered the Quiche of the Day. Easily one of the best quiches I've had in a while! If I'm ever back in the area I'll definitely visit again~ My only complaint was that they were low stock on a lot of stuff. I wanted to see what kind of pastries they had, but nearly all of them were gone. They mostly had croissants and cookies left. It's understandable, since I came at a time where they were packed. I'd imagine if I came at a time where they'd be less busy I'd be able to try more things from their menu.

I have not had such great service & food like this in a long time! We sat outside on the patio (lovely) and had a really great waiter who offered great suggestions and was attentive and kind. The food was to die for—with beignets to finish everything off! I had the quiche du jour but stole a few bites of my friend’s salmon toast. Even the side salad was awesome. Quality ingredients (comté cheese in the quiche WOW!) and awesome flavors without being too heavy. Can’t wait to come back here and try more things off the menu. Oh, and try the cold brew!

French Pastry fill the delightful glass display to our delight. A marvelous charmed country house feel with a Texas twist. One will cluck after indulging in the splendid menu from pastrami to onion soup! It is a cornucopia of dishes and desserts that made the cold dreary day feel incredibly bright and light hearted. One just wants to chat the time away w family and friends immersed in the koselig cafe.

We’ve found the best biscuits in town. I thought Colleen’s is the best, but Epicerie probably made their dough with a croissant-like technique but with fewer sheet folds because the middle is still dense like biscuits, but the crust is very much like a croissant. A+. It’s not common to see proper French cooking techniques in Austin, this place is definitely a gem.

This place is not cheap. But at the end, you know why. The eggs Benedict (soft eggs) is small but amazing. And the pork hash brown is off the hook! And finish off with a salted chocolate chip cookie and you are complete!

Epicerie is a must-visit spot for coffee and brunch in Austin. The establishment boasts a charming gourmet grocery and an array of mouth-watering French pastries. The interior is beautifully modern and exudes a pleasant atmosphere. During our visit, we savored some freshly brewed coffee and indulged in their delectable croissants, which were nothing short of amazing. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall, we had a delightful experience and I highly recommend Epicerie.

No one talks about the biscuits here, but they are probably the best in town. Light fluffy and a little buttered crispiness. I’ve eaten here a few times and it’s never disappoints.

This place is definitely a gem, the beignets are fluffy, not too sweet. The coffee is perfect, the pastry is magical, the food doesn’t feel heavy and it’s well execute. One of my favorite spots in Austin.

Wow is all I have to say! The breakfast croissant sandwich is absolutely incredible. Would come back just for that but pair on top of that excellent coffee and dessert and you are in for a great meal. The spot is cozy and welcoming too.

This place feels like a friend's house. The atmosphere and decor is very inviting. One of the better and most unique brunch places in Austin. They have a small but satisfying menu and a small bakery to complement. The food came out quick and the wait wasn't too long.

Meal type: Afternoon coffee & sweetness. Ordered: - Cappuccinos - Espressos - Beignets - Choco chip cookie - Cinnamon Short bread - Frozen Pim’s cup The coffee served here is by a local roaster named “Sightseer”. Highly recommend these beans for a coffee connoisseur’s palate. See separate google review for “Sightseer” Lets get to the desserts…. - Beignets: hands down brag worthy! A must try. The inner dough is light with a 2-3 second recoil, not greasy, and provides more of a Japanese milk bread texture. This contrasts nicely with the outer fried dough topped with just the right amount of sweetness level by the powdered sugar. These beignets are solid enough for dipping and/or a cozy accompaniment to a warm drink. The mood: perfect after a day on the slopes next to a fireplace. - Chocolate chip cookie: A chocolate milk lover’s fantasy. These cookies are packed with chocolate and still perfectly baked. Im more of a dark chocolate person, so felt these were a tad bit too sweet. I suggest balancing it out with a dark roast or bitters. - Cinnamon shortbread: A Buttery dense not-too-sweet treat that melts in your mouth. A citrus or herb icing, or preserve will complement nicely. - Frozen Pim’s Cup: An extremely refreshing cocktail for gin and ginger fans, otherwise requires an acquired taste. Additionally: Bar service was helpful and pleasant. Restrooms clean and thoughtful. Worth a revisit!

Try this place! Everything we had was so good! All the dishes were perfectly seasoned and balanced. The French onion soup has excellent depth. The kale salad balanced acorn squash in a way I’ve never had before, but I know I’ll be chasing that flavor profile for a long time to come. The eggs and trout roe was indescribably good. It was so well balanced! I can not recommend it enough. The beignets are in a whole other class here. They were fluffy yet full and again, the pastry was well balanced for sweetness. The drinks were well made and the wine selection is very good. I can not recommend this place enough! Definitely give this place a try for lunch or dinner.

Restaurant was nice. The styling on patio looked Southwest Texas, with some classic country French thrown in. Take a look at the pictures. Lots of pastries and wine available, but we were good, and abstained at that time hahaha. I had a piece of hair under my napkin on a side plate, and on the table. It was not in my food so no problem. Loved the bathrooms! Well done.

épicerie has the BEST croissant in Austin. It is not even close. It’s insanely flaky, buttery, and honestly tastes like something straight out of Paris. Every bite just melts. I could eat one every single weekend without getting tired of it. I’ll absolutely be back. Epicure, keep doing what you’re doing.

Cute spot. They have limited parking. I met my sister for a late lunch during the week. We weren’t too hungry, so shared the cheese plate and peach salad. It was all really lovely. The service was nice too. The seating is intimate. My complaint was that my croissant had a little burned taste to it.

07 SEP 2023 Took a late lunch here was pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. I’ve been wanting to try this place for some time as the menu is Louisiana inspired. The quiche for that day was really good. I liked how high it was thickness wise and it had a nice crust. It had roasted potatoes on top and Gruyere cheese inside. I didn’t want an entire Poboy, so I was able to get the fried shrimp that goes in it as a site audit with my quiche and salad. The salad dressing was a nice white wine balsamic. The breading on the fried shrimp was very nice and flavorful the best fried shrimp I’ve had for more than a minute. Atmosphere was good had to give it only four stars as I prefer the another customers dog had not been let in there. Full disclosure, it was a smaller animal and it didn’t do very much. I preferred it had not been in there at all as food was being served. At least it wasn’t a big one. The customer’s car does have a dog mode, so I’m not sure why they had to bring it inside or even take it out of the house as it was a very hot day. All that aside, it was a good meal a nice place. I did take away some pastry and some coffee to take home and finish there. The almond croissant was excellent as was the chocolate chip cookie. I also got the cinnamon poundcake bar. I did ask if they do anything or plan to do anything with mirliton squash. They did tell me they do plan to do something with them once they are in season. I’ll definitely be checking back in around October.

Fantastic Low Kew brunch spot. The food and iced latte‘s are amazing. They have an outdoor and indoor seating - outdoor is very romantic and aesthetic! The food and service were great. For dessert they had plenty sweet options.

They’re famous for their NOLA style beignets but everything is delicious here! Chicken schnitzel, burger, quiche are all fab. Their cocktails are also great. Can’t go wrong with their espresso martini. The atmosphere and service are top notch.

Came here on a whim and noticed that they had a nearly $20 egg sandwich. I was worried this would be another example of an overpriced menu item, but I was wrong. This was the best egg sandwich I had in my life. The sandwich was made up of scrambled eggs, a flaky croissant, cheese and sausage patty. The textures and flavors were wonderfully balanced. I'm so glad I split the sandwich with a friend who was also wowed by the simple sandwich. Everything else about the meal was great too. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the po'boy and beignets were executed well.

I had been eyeing this place for a while craving French food, and I’m so glad I came. This simple, cozy yet elegant restaurant combines a coffee shop vibe with breathtaking food presentation. The tartare was a great starter. There was a subtle sourness from pickled elements and a saltiness that wasn’t overpowering. Often tartare is served with bread that I find too buttery, so the use of crackers was a plus for me. The nuttiness of the seeded crackers paired perfectly with the raw meat. The Sweet Corn Gnoccetti perfectly blended the natural sweetness of corn, the creamy sauce, a tangy pickled note, and refreshing mint that brought it all together. The pasta itself was cooked to a wonderfully chewy perfection. The almond croissant was the only slight disappointment for me. Though the buttery and flaky crust was excellent the filling leaned more salty than sweet, which isn’t my preference. Overall, the meal was a feast for both the eyes and the palate, with dishes that showcased an impressive attention to detail and flavor. Despite the high price, I’d highly recommend this spot.

Firstly, thanks so much to Rachel for amazing service and the entire staff for their positive energy and kindness! Beautiful space. We loved sitting on the patio and sharing dishes and pastries. We so look forward to coming back! Loved the atmosphere, love the concept as well. I am a biscuit snob and these were the best I’ve had in Austin. Thanks épicerie team for fantastic hospitality and stellar food! ❤️

I’ve been here about 4-5 times and the experience has always been really good. Great pastries, the best in Austin, solid sandwiches and lunch items. Don’t miss Saturday morning for the big bake day. Service is a little slow but it’s also part of the experience, enjoy and take it easy.

Pastries are amazing, highly recommend the almond croissant, kouign-amann, and the biscuits with butter and jam. Prices/total add up quickly so beware of what you order because the pastries are so good you’ll be wanting seconds. Service was good as well, quick seating and attentive servers

I have been wanted to try epicerie for a while, ever since I drove by at 10:30am on a Friday and witnessed a huge crowd outside the restaurant waiting to get in. My friend and I arrived right at 10am when epicerie opened and found plenty of parking in the free lot. My friend had a delicious latte and the gnochetti (which is a rich mushroom pasta with dollops of goat cheese). I had the frites and the French Onion soup, which was delicious, although i would have loved a baguette to dip into the savory, cheesy broth. We wanted the beignets for dessert but were too full to eat there, so we took them home and had them a few hours later with tea and coffee. The dough was delicious, but the huge amount of powdered sugar made them messy to eat. Great brunch spot and reasonably priced.

A cozy place with a great atmosphere. I loved the coffee and everything I tried. The parking is a bit limited, but it’s worth it. You might have to wait a little for your food and coffee, but that actually adds to the experience—it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy without feeling rushed.

Cute little neighborhood spot, a little tight as far as parking and seating inside but manageable if you get there early. We did a 6:15 resy. We ordered the Rigatoni and the crab tortellini. Both dishes were excellent. Sam took such great care of us, offered recommendations and was a lovely human. Will be back for sure!

I drove here 20 min just to get their pastries. Desnudo was out of croissants and I noticed they come from here, so I drove to get one. It was so worth it. I bought the almond Croix croissant and a chocolate one. They were buttery and perfectly layered. The almond paste was smooth and delicious and didn't have some weird amaretto flavor like others do. The chocolate croissant was so perfect. I don't even care for chocolate. It was rich and creamy. Perfect 👌 I'm from NY so I hope I can come down again soon and I'm definitely hitting this place.

When you think of a neighborhood place, this is it. It’s tucked away in the Rosedale community. Parking is sparse but once you overcome that, you walk into a Paris-like atmosphere. Quaint, quiet, small, bright, chic. I really love the vibe. The drinks were great. I got a coffee rum drink that was surprisingly clear (!!) and a vieux carre. They cost $18 each which is high. The food is also delicious but it’s pricey. The only complaint I have is that the biscuits came out very dark. While it was edible, I would’ve preferred if the waitstaff didn’t serve it and got another batch. We ate the entire plate of biscuits but the outside was slightly too crunchy. The pastry case is beautiful. It was definitely fun to go with my girlfriends ; I’ll have to try it with the family but maybe it’s too nice for little kids. I highly recommend this place for an intimate lunch or dinner!

I got the shrimp po boy. I thought it tasted good and it was one the items that I think is worth the price given the portion size. My friends also got the pear and blue cheese pastry and the pastrami sandwich. The pear pastry was really good and the pastrami sandwich was a good size as well. $28 for a quiche is kind of much for the portion.

Came here looking for some French Onion Soup but we're surprised when it was an Italian takeover and it wasn't on offer! However, after sitting down, we quickly realized all of the food was delicious. I really liked the garlic bread, but my girlfriend was loving the tortellini. Will be coming back this fall once the FOS is back. There were no parking spots when we showed up and had to park on the street :/

We went to Épicerie for brunch today with my husband and another 2 friends and quickly discovered just how popular this spot is, as it was bustling when we arrived around noon. Thankfully, the wait was short and we were seated within about five minutes. The space is charming and thoughtfully decorated, but the noise level was quite high, making conversation difficult. Some acoustic panels could go a long way in improving the ambiance. We ordered the almond croissant, the butter lettuce salad, and the soft eggs. For drinks, we had a dirty chai, a black tea, and an americano. Everything was fresh and delicious. In addition to the dishes featured on the menu, Épicerie offers a lovely selection of pastries, both sweet and savory. Our waitress was attentive and kind. The service was fast. I’d definitely recommend Épicerie and look forward to coming back, ideally during a quieter time to better enjoy the experience.

Excellent shrimp po-boy sandwich. One of the best I have had in I can't remember how long. We were looking for somewhere new today for lunch and found this place; I saw they had shrimp po-boys and we had to go and try them out- so glad we did! We also had the peach appetizer which was very unique and delicious- sliced peaches with a nice little sauce drizzled over it. We sat outside which honestly in my opinion was the best spot in the house- maybe not when it's 100+ degrees out but today it was perfect. A nice little covered patio and they have the fly fans (though luckily they weren't a problem) but they do have the fans which I always appreciate.

This is *hands down* THE best bakery/brunch spot I’ve been to IN AUSTIN! Everything was better than expected. I went twice in the last week. I’ve tried over half of the baked goods in the case and each one is everything it’s supposed to be and more. Buttery, flaked, moist, flavorful. Just wow! And I have bound tastes in baked goods too! These are the real deal folks. I enjoyed the brunch this morning and we split the two best menu items. *chefs kiss* both dishes were completely devoured. The attention to detail is so evident. Each flavor compliments the next and the texture is covered all around. I can’t wait to come back!

Had one of the best brunches I've ever had here! We started with the biscuits, which were freshly baked, so they were warm and perfectly flaky. They came with soft butter and apple jam. The ricotta toast was loaded as well. As for the brunch entrees, the grits were my favorite; they were so thick and creamy, and the braised beef was delicious. The quiche was huge and the eggs had the perfect texture. The soft boiled eggs and sweet potato and the breakfast sandwich were also tasty. Overall, every single dish was a hit! Service was attentive and friendly as well.

A very good option for breakfast. I tried Croissant with avocado, scrambled eggs and jalapeno, there are several options for meat lovers. But what is most interesting is that the owner prepares the rolls and all other baked goods herself on the spot. Also the sweet ones. Fresh and good ingredients. Next time I need to ask about a few baking details.... 😉 enjoy.

Nice place, tasty food. A bit overpriced, and the drinks arrived much later than the food. They should consider adding outdoor heaters.

Loved this place! Super chic interior fused with a small market feel. Parking was limited at the building, but there seems to be plenty of street parking available if the lot gets full. Attended for a private event and service was thorough and prompt. I had the Cured Salmon Toast, which flavor wise was delicious but the toast itself was a bit too crunchy and dry which made it difficult to eat. Beignets were delicious and I can’t wait to try the other pastries next time I visit!

The food was fantastic of course, but I was expecting bigger portions for the price. The service was also pretty bad, for example it took like 10 minutes for us to get some extra plates. Lastly the place was very loud so I couldn’t really talk, nonetheless the good quality of the food gets this place 3 stars. Also the regular menu seemed much better than the brunch menu and consisted more things. Great beer selection though

Please order the biscuits and jam! 🍞🍓🍓🍓 So buttery wonderfully delicious. A little too much butter/oil on the burger for me… maybe that’s just the French way 🇫🇷 Service was slow, although our server was kind and knowledgeable. Overall, the food and vibes were great. I will definitely be back to try more!

Pretty decent fusion French food but portion tends to quite small for the price. The pastries are pretty good. The dessert is pricey but it’s delicious. It’s too noisy inside for us while the terrace is too hot for the summer. Worth to come back sometimes.

There are some items on the weekend brunch menu that weekday does not have. Which is the only complaint I have. Came here for their brunch and everything was delicious. I highly recommend all items I posted in the pictures below. Would come back for the same dishes!

While we loved the quiche and the salad that came with it, we still can't comprehend the price. Loved the chocolate chip cookie too. Delicious options, just pricey.

The pastries are to die for, the brownie inside a croissant was my absolute favorite. Quiche was fluffy and cheesy with just enough crust to support the flavors. The place is little busy so it gets crowded but it’s worth the wait.

Place is set up like a little market with cheese, meats, and pastries, with more fresh made preserves, spice blends and more. It’s clean and not too busy on a Tuesday evening. Our waiter Todd was very nice and attentive. We ordered the French onion soup which I’ve ordered at other places before and never have I tasted as fresh and clean as here usually it’s so heavy it leaves me feeling gross. We also ordered the gnocchi, frittes, and one of the special for the day which was grits, and confitt mushroom with sage. It was super flavorful and rich. Had to take everything to go. Overall good experience

The place looks pretty and it's a nice dining place for a nice Sunday brunch. The kouign amann had a very interesting shape and had nice crispy layers. The dish that wowed us was the biscuit and jam. The biscuit was so buttery and fluffy. The house made strawberry jam is also so tasty. 10/10 I had the lions mane grit, which tasted good. The grit is creamy and goes well with the flavor of the mushrooms. my friend had a plate with quiche and salad. It came with a huge slice of quiche. The seasoning of the quiche is good, but it tasted a little heavy and we couldn't finish it although we tried to divide up 'the task' among the three of us. My friend also ordered coffee, but it's a little pricy. I think it was 7 bucks for a very small cup. I enjoyed my meal but I don't think I'll be coming back again for brunch (also given that we waited in line for an hour to get a table)

I had a cup of coffee and an almond croissant. Both were good, but the place was a bit too loud. Staff was okay — nothing special but polite enough.

Such a lovely place. Line starts before it opens at 10. We had a party of 4 and didn’t wait at all. They specialize in pastries and drinks. Food menu is lacking for me. Doesn’t mean it isn’t delicious. Sausage in the breakfast sandwich is too salty. Cinnamon roll was hard. Prices are high for me. Special occasions doesn’t matter. Splurge a little. Music is too loud. Would I go again? I sure will.

UPDATE: Came here again just for the mussels but they tasted pretty different :( the dish wasn't seasoned as well (wasn't as buttery and savory) and did have the sharp raw wine flavor. The mussels were also much grittier than on my previous visit. Bummed because of the inconsistency of the mussels but will still come for pastries and other dishes! We also had the beef tartare and pastrami sandwich on this visit and those were 5/5, absolutely delicious. Been here twice now and their croissants and pastries are consistently top tier! I also ordered the mussels and they were delicious. They were swimming in an herby white wine butter sauce and were buried under a pile of soft cooked leeks and herbs, which made for THE perfect bite with the crusty baguette the dish came with. I saw another review mentioned that the mussels had a raw wine taste and were undersalted, but mine didn’t have either of those issues. I’m definitely coming back to try more of their brunch menu!

Delectable neighborhood French cuisine and market. A little expensive for the 1) service (they had two waiters for the prime lunch time on a Friday!) and 2) the small portions. However, the quality of the food was spectacular and the cheese bar was a great experience. Their bread is fresh and delicious. Will come back for sure, but more for special occasions since it is pretty pricey.

Ordered Quiche of the day, Gnocchetti, roasted pork belly, chicken liver mousse, Biscuits with jam and butter. Felt the pork belly should be more tender and Gnocchetti was not up to my liking. The food was good overall but I loved their coffee and bakery items. We ordered Croissants and Beignets and they were really good.

This was my post church dining selection last Sunday. It’s a cute spot with a surprisingly good amount of parking options (off-street and street). I had the beignets and the lion’s mane mushroom and Gouda quiche. The quiche was so cream, flavorful and the serving portion was adequate, I actually had a bit left over. The oldie but goodies playlist kept the vibe upbeat and I was feeling fancy with my table by large picture windows and the entire patisserie feel. As someone with Louisiana blood in her veins, I have to disclose that the beignets fell short of my palate’s expectations, they were warm and perfectly formed but it tasted like a Costco croissant with powdered sugar on top.

Cozy restaurant with good dessert options. Definitely good date night place. Decent number of seating places inside and out. Few parking spots so could be difficult to find around it during peak times. Street parking available. Polite and helpful staff. Pricing is decent, little pricier considering their location. Ramp available for wheelchair access

This place was delicious. I got the gnocchi and my husband got the shrimp po‘boy. We shared a delicious almond croissant - probably the best ever! I am only giving it 4/5 stars because it is very overpriced. My Latte was $8 and so was the croissant. It is really good and worth going, but save it for special occasions bc i find it hard to justify their prices.

I had the steak frites which was 55 bucks, I believe among the most expensive item on the dinner menu? The steak was indeed very tender and the sauce and bone marrow butter was very flavorful, however most of the plate was the fries. The fries were straight up not good. They taste like it's straight from Sysco, not even like rally's/checker's tier of frozen fries. Just boring straight cut fries that were only seasoned with salt. I would honestly take fresh McDonald's fries over the fries on the steak frites anytime of the day.For 55 bucks, I had hoped that the fries would have been triple cooked or something, and tossed in some proper seasoning. The ham and cheese croissant that I got was excellent though, even without heating it up, it had excellent crunch and the sesame seeds added a very nice, savory depth of flavor. I would honestly get like 8 ham and cheese croissant over the steak and frites since that would be about the same price. The service was very nice, and the servers were all very accommodating. The vibes were very cozy too. I think maybe this place would be great for brunch? Or maybe I just didn't get the right item. Will try again next time at brunch time.

Food: We ordered the trout tartare, French onion soup, fried shrimp po boy, and burger and frites for roughly $100. -The trout was placed on delightful cracker with a generous serving of trout roe. It was rich with bursts of salt from the roe. I would just have added a bit of acid to round out the dish. -The French onion soup had excellent flavor and the bread and cheese were perfectly baked on top of the soup. Exactly what you imagine when you think of a perfect French onion. -The fried shrimp po boy has excellent. The breading was delicious, and the sauce took it over the top. -the burger and frites was the only thing that I felt was truly lacking. It was just a bit too simple for me for 20. Maybe I’m being a bit too harsh though as I had previously had the best burger in my life while in Chicago at Au Cheval. Vibes: This restaurant has such a charm from its interior down to its quaint location. We dined outside, but the inside was very cozy as well. Service: FoH is very generous and polite. Enjoyed my interactions with everyone.

I hadn’t been back in while. They added extra seating. I love the cozy atmosphere. When I’m craving a beignet and ready to sin, I come here. It’s no Cafe du Monde beignet but it’s up there. I have discovered the biscuits too and they are delish! It’s like 95% butter and that’s why they are good. I was full with two but couldn’t stop and had to have the other two. I got biscuit drunk and don’t regret it. Their orange mocha cappuccino and chocolate croissants are great too. I like the quiche as well. The chocolate chip cookie used to be bigger.

Food is always fantastic. Pastries are beautiful and delicious. Today was our first day dining in ...You can order pastries for your table; it's odd that if you're dining in, they don't offer to warm anything but food always delivers. Server was very disappointing & inattentive. Additional staff was great.

A cozy brunch spot in Austin! I enjoyed the quiche, and they have a nice selection of bakery items as well. The carbonara, however, was quite different from what I expected. The price is slightly on the higher side, and be prepared for a wait unless you arrive early! If you're looking for a place with more spaced-out seating, this might not be the best option.

Weekend brunch menu seemed a little limited. There were way more drinks than food listed. Sat outside for immediate seating and knew it'd be chilly. The staff was friendly but seemed a bit busy to be super attentive. We were able to get what we need for the most part though. Main reason for 3 stars was the "duck and grits" for $35. It was only a duck leg, 1 egg and a very small amount of grits. I would pay $25 max for quality and how often I get to eat duck around here, but ideally $20. The bourbon latte was pretty good! $9 though. Ah maybe a complaint about the economy overall but it was a decent meal, just way too expensive for what I got.

Background: this was my second time at Epicerie. My first experience was fantastic with great service worthy of more stars than what was given today. The hostess was courteous with putting us on the list for Sunday brunch. The estimated 40 minutes ended up being much shorter. Our waiter was uninspiring, but functionally did everything he should have. The hot fried chicken sandwich breakdown: the fried chicken was delicious, cooked perfectly and not hot at all for those worried about spice levels. For those needing more heat, the hot sauce provided for the table was delicious (and can also be purchased). The fried egg underneath the chicken was a delightful surprise of creamy goodness. The pickles and sauce were a nice contrast. The fries on the plate were pure sadness though. Barely lukewarm. Slightly wrinkled and not a lot of flavor. I thought perhaps I got the last of a batch but when I looked at other people’s tables they had the same sad appearance as mine. This could have been a good accompaniment for the sandwich, but alas was not meant to be today.

Bits and pieces of shrimp on $18 Po boy was not worth the price. Unfortunately there were a few flies around—one of which landed on my glass. Pastrami was just okay—Good looking sandwich but lacking in flavor. Like the atmosphere. Iffy return.

We indulged in the pork rillette, gnocchetti, and the beignets, expecting a culinary adventure. The rillette had its moments, but alas, it didn’t quite inspire a return visit. Now, the gnocchetti—oh, it had such potential but a surprising sweetness overshadowed the dish, leaving me craving more balance. In fact, both of our main courses leaned far too sweet for my palate. But redemption arrived with the beignets, delight and crisp, and the iced black tea—a refreshing companion to the meal. The atmosphere was wonderful, and while the food was a bit of a mixed experience, I would still go again.

I truly enjoyed the beef tartare and the café ole cocktail, however my partner ordered steak frites which took a very long time and it arrived cold. When I said something about it, it took an even longer time for it to arrive. Only for it to be microwaved... or at least taste that way. Service was excellent. However, I am extremely disappointed that I had to pay $55 for my food to arrive cold and microwaved. Which is why I am giving only three stars.

I've been a fan of this place for awhile, even before they kinda blew up and started getting (rightfully) noticed for their food. I still think their beignets are the best in the city. But my last visit was a bit disappointing. The main reason was the service. We were seated and helped by Madeline. After we were seated she came to give us water and "give us a few minutes". That few minutes was closer to 15 or 20 by my estimation. We watched as she went around to check on and help a few other tables around us (some who were even seated after us) while never coming back to check on us or to take our order. I know she saw us because she glanced at our table several times. On multiple occasions when she walked by us to grab a check or help a table next to us I was like "surely she'll stop by this time". Nope. It finally got to the point where we had to literally walk up to HER while she was standing around to tell her we were ready. She must have known we were not happy because for almost the rest of the entire meal we barely saw her again. Our food was brought out by other folks and a DIFFERENT server who was not ours was the one that came by to see how we were doing and if there was anything else we needed. Again, I know Madeline was around because we saw her checking up on her other tables, just not ours. We didn't see her again until the very end when it was time to get our check. The only reason I left a normal tip was because of the OTHER staff that helped us out that were perfectly lovely. Other small gripes: $21 for a modest size French onion soup that I ordered for an appetizer is absurd. My burger and fries was less than that. The food itself was good and everyone else enjoyed what they ordered. I'm sure I'll be back, but if the services continues to be at this level then that may change.

I would characterize this restaurant as the local neighborhood bistro. French? No way. There is almost nothing about this restaurant that is French. Certainly, they offer a few menu items that are French in character. But then there are so many restaurants that are not French yet offer quiche, beignet, and croissants. With that said, how about the food that is offered? It's good but not great. Perhaps wholesome is the best description. One thing that really perturbs me is ice tea. In Texas, especially Austin, don't screw with the tea. The short glass with yellow water is their idea of ice tea. Nope!!! I picture another glass purchased at a different restaurant that's the minimum color ice tea should be.

1st time here. Small quaint place. My friend wanted me to try the cookies. I'm not a chocolate chip fan. However, the cookie did taste fresh, rich, and moist. There were several flies in the building, which would have been okay if the table were not already preset with dining ware. So I didn't like that part. The waitress was pleasant, attentive, and quick, which is always appreciated. FYI, the parking lot is tiny.

On our way back to Houston this morning, we stopped to grab some pastries and coffee as a late breakfast. We’ve stopped at Epicerie before because we value their fine pastries but this occasion service was bad. They basically kicked us out of the restaurant even before I had finished my coffee. They brought the check without asking for it, and the sever picked up the plates without caring if we had finished our food. Good to mention that there was plenty of open seating and no people waiting for any table. If this place was truly a French boulangerie / bistro; we would have never been treated so poorly.

Service is bad here. The workers seem to avoid eye contact with you while you are trying to order at the bakery. Not the warmest staff. But the pastry’s are good. We were waiting for a table but decided to leave due to the experience at the carry out counter. I would think they would rush to put your order in quickly so you can get out of the way since it is such a small space. Instead, they make you wait. We were also clearly waiting to order and the staff went ahead and attended other people that were behind us.

**One Star** I've given this place three chances, and each time the service has been consistently disappointing. The waitstaff comes across as rude and condescending, which makes it difficult to enjoy the meal regardless of the food quality. It's frustrating because I genuinely wanted to like this restaurant, but after three separate visits with the same experience, I can't recommend it. Life's too short to spend money somewhere that makes you feel unwelcome.

We visited Epicerie for lunch today and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. We came in hoping for a peaceful meal, and I have food allergies, so we made a clear order for a well-done burger patty with specific cheeses and a fully cooked egg. Instead, we got a tiny sausage patty that we never ordered, the egg was runny, and none of the cheeses were correct. Even after asking them to fix it, it still wasn’t right, and we ended up being charged extra for these incorrect items (x2 $10 mini sausage patties...!). While the staff were nice, it felt like there was a real disconnect in the kitchen or management. We both left feeling unwell and really let down. Sadly, we won’t be recommending Epicerie to anyone anymore, and we won’t be returning ourselves. It was just a waste of money and a frustrating experience.
