When i tell you best pho in the greater austin area, I mean it. Love the staff & food equally. I’ve never not put hoisin or siracha in my pho, but this broth needs nothing more then the love put into it. Fresh bowl is a 10/10 all around. Also they have the cutest online menu ever!
I’m obsessed with this place, they have the best tendon in the their pho that I’ve ever had in my life. The strawberry viet coffee is 100/10, it’s the nectar of life. Imagine Vietnamese coffee but as strawberry ice cream.
This was the first Vietnamese restaurant I tried after I moved here to Austin. Since then, it’s been difficult for me to find a place that can make their quality of food! The service there is always top notch. No matter how busy it gets, I’ve always received excellent and timely service.
Pho with vermicelli noodles with Chin. My friend had chicken pho. Was so delicious and not so greasy at all. Had wintermelon boba tea. Place is nice and clean.
This is the only spot where I can really get the authentic taste of Hu Tieu Go Saigon! Their shaken beef is super tender and juicy, not the dry stuff you find at most places. It’s become our go-to family spot for a weekly visit!
This spot serves up some of the best pho with incredibly fresh noodles—perfectly chewy and full of flavor. The bun bo hue is rich and spicy, packed with authentic taste. Don’t miss the Cajun crawfish fried rice either—bold, savory, and seriously addictive. A must-try!
The ube coffee! It's as good as everyone says. I ordered that and an egg banh mi, which was equally delicious. I moved from OC in California where there is excellent Vietnamese food. Good Asian food in Austin is hard to find, but Fresh Bowl delivered. I want to go back and try their vermicelli next time.
What an awesome place! This new establishment has truly impressed me! Very clean, organized, delicious menu, and not to mention extremely friendly staff. Not only is the Bun Bo Hue here amazing, I'm going to try their constantly growing selection of dishes. I'm always skeptical of trying new things, but man the recent visit did not dissapoint one bit. I love the Fried rice here, and the Green Tea Thai Tea was sooo good! The portions here are real good, so you're getting soo much food for your buck. The quality of the food made you can tell is very fresh. Can't wait to try out the new dishes they come up with! Would totally recommend everyone to give it a go here! 5 Stars! A+++
As soon as I walked in, I could smell how delicious it was going to be. I went for a quick lunch. I called in and it was ready in 15 minutes, by the time I got there. I went with the House Bahn Mi & Grilled Pork Spring Rolls for less than $15. Everything was delicious. I will definitely return for some other specialties.
First off.. let me say.. the new owner of this establishment has done a fantastic job in revamping this restaurant. Food is absolutely delicious, the service and attitude of the staff is top notch professional! I am so satisfy and grateful at the same time, because I work literally down the road. I am coming here for lunch at least once a week if not more. To the owner and staff of Fresh Bowl: Thank you and I will be spreading the word at my work, sending them over for lunch.
Best pho in Austin. I have gone out of my way to eat here multiple times and will definitely continue to do so! I have only ordered the combo pho here with steak, tripe, and meatballs. Each of these meats is good quality. The broth has very rich flavor and is not too oily. There are two noodle options - the fresh noodle is amazing as it is slightly thicker than regular rice noodles but has a pleasant chew to it. It retains the flavor of the soup a lot better and amazingly does not get soggier or lose its texture throughout eating it. Service is efficient and menu prices are reasonable. Would highly recommend this place as my favorite pho spot in Austin!
Amazing people, amazing food. Kudos to Nathan for helping my friend jump start his car, he deserves a promotion!
Was recommended by my relative that this place was really good! Went with my family and we all enjoyed the food. I had Bun Bo Hue, it was delicious. The noodles were super good. The broth should be a little more flavorful. I ordered the Thai tea and it was watered down. Other than that, customer service was superb. Thanks from Dallas!!
I ordered bánh mỳ (all flavors) for my daughter's birthday and all the guests love it! I myself enjoy this dish as well. They use the Vietnamese bánh mỳ style (oval shape, not rectangle shape) hence softer and more authentic. It's tasty and has the exact if not better taste that I had in Vietnam. The vegetarian bánh mỳ is good as well. Other dishes are also good, my favorite, besides bánh mỳ, is bún bò Huế (spicy beef noodle soup). You got to try dish. It's a much tastier dish compared to Phở (in my opinion😊). The only thing I did not enjoy here is the screens, because it's distracting. I want everyone, especially the kids, focus on the food in front of them instead of looking at the screens (even though the screens are showing food). In general this is my go-to restaurant.
First time in, and won't be my last. I should have stopped in months ago. The drinks are on point, and beat out many other "Viet Coffee" spots my wife and I have stopped at. You get one size, so be aware of that when you come back for more. This isn't your "American m mpmp mm .
I originally had intended to get pho at a different Vietnamese restaurant nearby, but was unable to get through on the line when I tried to call in a to-go order. As a result, I decided it was fate and time to finally try Fresh Bowl and I'm so glad I did! We ordered the three-meat pho and combination banh mi, and both were very well done and tasty. The pho broth may lean slightly sweet for some palates but it didnt nother me, and I appreciated how well packaged my to-go order was! Service was also very quick and friendly. I will definitely be back!
Despite the large number of Asian restaurants around North Austin, there are few restaurants that are actually any good. This is one of those places. A lot of traditional Vietnamese dishes here and even the fried rices are very good. The crawfish fried rice is especially good. When i saw them bring out the dish with a side of sauce, I knew the crawfish fried rice was gonna legit.
Love their pho. The fresh noodles make it special and all around a great spot and my go-to when I want pho. I would take my parents here.
Absolutely fantastic. The broth was was flavorful with star anise, clove, and cinnamon. The homemade rice noodles had an excellent chew and mouthfeel and I was surprised to discover the meatballs to be homemade as well. The jalapeños were fresh with plenty of heat and the herbs were fragrant. Staff was friendly and informative to top things off. Best pho I've had really anywhere.
We love Fresh Bowl. Bún Bò Huế is my family’s favorite dish. It’s the best Vietnamese restaurant in Austin.
Ordered food on a Sunday and it was packed !! We had the BBH, pho and crawfish fried rice. They were all yummy. Would definitely come back for more!
I ordered the house special banh mi (with Vietnamese cold cuts and pork pate) and the grilled chicken banh mi to go. Both came with pickled carrots, daikon, cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeño in a separate bag. Having never had a banh mi with Vietnamese cold cuts and pork pate, I found the texture and taste to be unexpected and peculiar; I'm glad I ventured out to try it, but it was not my favorite. On the other hand, the grilled chicken surprised me in the best way. I was expecting it to be dry and lacking flavor, but it was quite the opposite. The marinade is so flavorful, making every bite of this sandwich a delight to eat. I've heard their banh mi bread is nice and crunchy, but that wasn't my experience, probably because I ordered mine to go. However, I didn't mind at all. The grilled chicken banh mi is delicious regardless of whether the bread is crunchy.
My second time here since it’s been changed to Fresh Bowl. I had the Special Combination Bánh Mì and a Green Thai Tea. As a tough critic on Bánh Mì Sandwiches since I grew up eating it, I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. The subtle combination of flavors balanced really well and attention to details drove it home for more. The Green Thai Tea was good, but not great. I think the Jasmine Tea that was used was over steeped. For me, a plus any place with healthy live plants usually means the staff takes pride of their restaurant. I would recommend this place for anyone interested in a more authentic Vietnamese experience. Enjoy!
I had pho here and it very yummy. The broth was very flavor. The service was a little bit slow. We asked for certain things and they kept forgetting to get it for us multiple times. The vibe was good. It was a typical Vietnamese restaurant vibe. Their menu I think was decent. They had a variety of dishes that you don't see often like the Bo Kho soup.
nice soup and fresh pho, you have to get the appetizers too. So they renovated the place since 2024. new lighting, new fresh paints, new walls. everything's really nice. the staff is super friendly and yes you have to get the house beef pork patty banh mi and you also have to get the chicken wings, garlic fish sauce, everything's delicious at an affordable price. must eat everything.
Took my friends down here for the first time. He loved the Pho and fried lemon & pepper wings. He topped everything off with a strawberry smoothie. The service was slow, but the food was amazing!
The vermicelli grilled pork is really good. The pork especially is delicious, with bits of lemongrass goodness. The pho broth has a traditional flavor, with balanced tastes of clove, cinnamon, & star anise, yet not overpowering. This is their soft opening (Sept. 8, 2022). Service is very friendly and nice. I included their menu so check it out I can wait to try their whole menu. This is a very happy beginning.
I stopped here randomly for a bite and Omg Phenomenal food. We got the chicken Pho, lemon grass shrimp vermicelli with fried egg rolls, and craw fish fried rice. They were not stingy with the protein and everything was packed with flavor. SO GOOD. Even the drinks , Thai tea and strawberry jasmine tea were fire. MUST TRY!
Went it during lunch on a weekend. Was greeted immediately and seated. Wait staff was attentive and helped explain everything that the menu offered. The dining area was clean with a calm atmosphere. I ordered a BCBC pho because I wanted something on the spicier side, along with a soft shell crab appetizer. The food exceeded expectations! I would definitely dine here again!
Just happen to drive by the place and noticed it was a Vietnamese restaurant and the parking lot was packed. Glad I stopped as the pho is really good! Ordered a large bowl and picked rare steak and brisket for my meats and the homemade fresh noodles. The pho bowl came out and I tasted the broth and it was really good and flavorful. I will come by the restaurant again as I want to try one of the bahn mi sandwiches that were on the menu.
So good, all the drink options so far that I've tried, from refreshers to coffee, are awesome. 💗 The food is soooo flavorful as well. Your noodles may take longer than the rest of your orders to arrive (they make your food fast), but don't worry, it comes out hot and soooo fresh. Photos are #20 and last mouth watering photo is also #20 but Pig's Trotter. 🤤 my go to. Also, there are many different food options to choose from. Don't be fooled by the parking lot. It may look full, but there is definitely plenty of space when you walk in!
Fell in love with this place thanks to amazing stuff! They are so welcoming. The pho is fresh and flavorful every time. I like a good verity of traditional deserts and drinks. We love to come back over and over again.
Authentic Vietnamese food with some of the best Pho in Austin! Has amazing broth and only play in Austin with fresh noodles! The bún bò Huế is super flavorful as well!
This place was extremely delicious. All their dishes were excellent tasting and service was great. Prices weren’t too bad. The pho was a little more expensive than most places I’ve seen. Service was average and ambiance was very casual. Went on a Sunday and it was a bit busier than normal but that’s expected from a popular place like this one!
We had a wonderful experience here. Avery, the young lady that served us was very pleasant, attentive and was a joy to have serve us. My order is complex and she nails it everytime! I love this place
Used to come here when it was pho king but since changed name after new management. They now offer complimentary bottle water, which is a nice plus. Mood is Very relaxing 😎 atmosphere, large pho was huuuge. Came in hungry, left very full. The pho 🍜 soup has really nice flavor. Large pho has lots of tender meet slices. Finished off with tofu pudding. Overall very delicious.
Best pho in Austin. Broth is so flavorful. Tofu pudding is so delicious. The staff is extremely nice and friendly. Nathan jump started my car outside the restaurant. Staff goes above and beyond!
I ordered from Uber Eats and the steamed rice rolls tasted great, just a bit oily. So I would recommend them to use less oil for the steamed rice rolls, but overall, very great experience compared to the lack of good Vietnamese restaurants here in Austin. I would definitely come back. Will add photos later when I dine in.
Love this place! Some of the BEST pho broth around Austin in my opinion. I will often buy the large container of just the pho broth for $5 to take it home to drink it out of a mug. So flavorful and healing lol. I've had several menu items and everything has been good. My ONE piece of unsolicited advice is to whoever makes the nước mắm fish sauce; please use less sugar, it's too sweet. Not bad, just.. unbalanced. I usually prefer fish sauce for my spring rolls, but the peanut sauce here is great so I don't mind switching it up. Happy to have a really good Vietnamese spot nearby my work. Staff has always been friendly whether I'm dining in or doing take-out, and the to-go orders are packed well. Haven't had any missing items.
This is another hidden gem in Austin. Housed in a standalone building with plenty of parking, Fresh Bowl is a must-try. We’ve been ordering hủ tiếu gõ and hủ tiếu bò kho (beef stew rice noodles soup) for quite some time now, and they never disappoint. The restaurant is cozy, clean, and has great vibes. The staff is consistently professional and friendly, and the menu is full of excellent options. Every dish we’ve tried has been delicious. Yet another great Vietnamese restaurant to add to your Austin food list.
10/10, i cannot recommend enough! Honestly best Bun Bo Hue in Austin for me, so flavorful and delicious! Everything else was amazing. Definitely can’t wait to bring my parents here (they’re picky haha) and try their other dishes! Service and atmosphere were great as well! :) ALSO the ube coffee oh my gosh. Yes a million!
The most authentic Vietnamese restaurant in town that I highly recommend to everyone! I love the friendly faces and spirit, the variety of authentic dishes, the high quality ingredients, and the clean setting. Whether I’m ordering to-go or sitting down, I never have to think twice about getting a great experience. There are also multiple delicious vegan options!
I recently checked out Fresh Bowl, and I’ve got to say, it’s a gem for Vietnamese food lovers! They made their pho noodle and banh mi fresh in-house everyday which I find pretty rare in Austin. My office ordered in the house special bánh mì last week it was a total hit! The flavor was on point, and everyone was raving about it. The bread was perfectly crispy, and the fillings were fresh and tasty definitely a great combo. The atmosphere is chill, and the staff is really nice.
I brought one of my favorite people here for dinner, and she said the food was really good. I’ve been here multiple times for takeout after work because they serve flavorful Vietnamese street food with such authentic taste. Today, we dined in and ordered the crawfish fried rice and fried rice noodles both were absolutely delicious! I also ordered a Vietnamese salty coffee for my friend’s husband; it looked amazing, and I’m sure it tasted just as good. They even play Vietnamese music, which made it feel just like home , I loved it. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone. The staff were so nice, friendly, and attentive, which made the experience even better. Thank you ♥️
Perfect clean flavors. Fresh and delicious! My bahn mi was excellent, veggies crunchy and perfectly balanced. Bread light, crunchy. As a baguette should be! Coffee was on point, ube. Pho had a clear, powerful flavor! Loved it and will be back! Restaurants is very clean! Suoer plus for me 😊
The food here is phenomenal. They had a good number of vegan/ vegetarian options. The vermicelli noodles were great! The chicken wings were yummy and the egg rolls were crunchy and very fresh. They have fresh salad plate with every bowl of pho ordered on the table. Overall it’s a great place to go for lunch from office as they have a quick turn around time and food is tasty.
First time at Fresh Bowl and I really enjoyed it. All the items we order had good taste. The fried rice had lots of flavor. The pho broth was good and I loved how they had the option for fresh noodles. The bun bo hue had lots and lots of meat which is great but had little noodles, the broth was ok. We also had the Bo Kho, the meat was so tender and dip the bread in the stew was delicious. Will definitely be back.
We really enjoyed the restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food was amazing. Will be coming back soon. They brought out water bottles for everyone at the table as soon you were seated. The chicken wings had a really good crunch on them with plenty of meat and sauce. I've never seen wings disappear that fast. The garlic flavor was just perfect. Banh mi grill chicken sandwich was tasty and flavorful. Had plenty of chicken and toppings. The bread tasted fresh and had a nice crunch. The sandwich was pretty big. The general TSO chicken was really good. The chicken was crunchy and probably the best general TSO I've had in a while. Came with a serving of rice, an egg roll, and some broccoli. Had leftovers to take home. The stir fried noodles with shrimp were a hit with the kids. The staff was kind enough to bring out an extra plate for the kids to share. The noodles tasted fresh and had plenty of shrimp and vegetables. Had leftovers to take home. Will have to try the other items on the menu next time.
- Casual dimly lit atmosphere - friendly excellent service - The 3 meat pho was really good and loved that you can really taste the star anise and cinnamon. Probably my favorite pho in Austin so far. And the fatty brisket was sooo good. The only bad thing is, there’s too many noodles and it soaks up the pho broth pretty quickly. I might ask for noodles on the side next time. This was my favorite item of the night. - My husband had the lemongrass beef vermicelli bowl and said it was well seasoned/marinated and juicy. - the Crispy Pig’s Hock was a little too greasy for me, it’s like they deep fried it to get it crispy vs broiling the skin. I wasn’t a fan of the sauce but made my own out of hoisin and sriracha and it was better. I wouldn’t order this again. - We got the combo bánh mì to go and will try it for lunch tomorrow. And they also sell just the bone broth.
Great food! Busy on weekends ( came on Sunday with family) and we only got 3 out of 5 dishes ordered. My family ate everything while I waited 30 minutes for my food that wasn’t even made yet 😅😂. Besides the missing garlic fish sauce chicken wings and rice and ribs dish, everything else was spot on! Delicious banh mi, bo kho (beef stew), and bun thit nuong (vermicelli noodles with grilled pork). Would come back for those dishes! Might order to go next time though. Nice staff and waitress. Very clean and nice remodeling.
I got their ube coffee, pan fried pho noodles with combo meat, and special combo rice plate. I really enjoyed their ube coffee and pan fried pho noodles the most. The pan fried noodle are crispy and it’s more on the sweeter side. I do wish that they add more variety of vegetable to it. For the special combo rice plate with chicken and shrimps are decent but nothing special.
This place took over what used to be called Pho King (yeah, say it fast LOL). Anyway the outside decor is pretty bland maybe uninviting, the inside is pretty nice and spacious. The dining area had good lighting and there were TVs playing YouTube videos of food influencers. The Bun Bo Hue (BBH) might be that best in the area, although there aren't THAT many places to go to for this particular dish. The Banh Mi was very good and packed full of meat and paté, I would definitely recommend this as well. I also got the Bo Tai Chanh and I thought it was just average. The Ube Coffee was surprisingly good, A lot on the sweet side of things if that is your preference. Overall, come try the BBH and the Banh Mi.
Fresh Bowl is easily one of the top tier pho spots in Austin. Dare I say ELITE???…with two small personal preferences/gripes that keep me from saying this place is a TEN. In my opinion, the star of the show here? The Vegan Pho. It comes out piping hot and loaded to the max full of stuff: fresh handmade noodles, big chunky vegetables (broccoli, bok choy, carrots, mushrooms), lots of onions and generous slabs of fried tofu. No skimpy bowls here. I’m not fully vegan, so I sub the veggie broth for beef broth ****and let me tell you**** that THIS MOVE takes the pho from being “very good” to “why is this so PERFECT?” Rich flavor, lots of collagen, warming to the soul. Chef’s kiss. They also bring all the herbs, sprouts, and lime so you can dress it exactly how you want. Now…if Fresh Bowl added bánh xèo to the menu, I’d be super emotionally invested. And while the spring rolls here are OK, other Vietnamese spots in town use better cuts of beef and pork. Minor gripe, but a personal preference. Use better cuts of meat for your spring rolls. Drinks though? Untouchable. The Vietnamese iced matcha latte is STRONG, cold, and perfectly balanced—condensed milk, bold matcha, and subtle jasmine notes. Refreshing, addictive, and easily one of the best iced drinks in the city. Service is consistently solid. Even when it’s busy, they make the effort to check in and keep things moving, which goes a long way. Between Fresh Bowl and ‘Pho, Please’, I honestly can’t pick a winner for the best pho in Austin. Both are excellent. I’m just begging politely, BOTH OF YOU, please put bánh xèo on the menu.
Food is amazing, tried only vegan pho and it was pretty tasty like regular chicken pho/pho ga They have a good range of fresh drinks
Get the bun Bo hue. It’s sate chili oil they give is not as spicy as I would’ve liked, but good thing they provide jalapeños and sriracha. The salted calamari was just alright. The fish sauce chicken wings were good—Super crispy and sticky. Lychee jasmine tea was good too. 8/10, I would come back.
Great local spot for Vietnamese. Dishes are full of flavor. Establishment is very well kept and wait staff friendly and quick. Interior atmosphere is very casual and easy going. Wish they would have cut my pork chops up into pieces though before serving as there is no knife to cut it up. It’s not a traditional setup where your waiter will bring your receipt and you pay at the table. When you are done, head to the main counter area to pay and then you are on your way. I’d definitely visit again.
Bun Bo Hue is delicious. The broth was really good and the bowl was filled with lots of meat. The only thing missing is the slice of pork hock. If for this bowl only I would give them 5/5. I also ordered the crunchy pork hock but quite disappointed. The portion is quite small compared to what advertised in the menu picture. It may have been deep fried many times so was very dry and hard.
The food is always delicious, and the service is very friendly. Would be a 5 star review, but the men’s restroom is consistently the worst restroom I’ve ever been in and that gives me concern for the cleanliness of other areas of the restaurant.
Food here is solid. Service needs lots of improvement. Service is slow. I waited more than 20min for the pho. I had to ask another waitress for it. Good luck getting their attention. There were seemingly lots of staff walking around but did not seem to care. Pho and other noodle dish are one of the best. Bun bo hue is not spicy but quite flavorful. The interior is spacious.
This has been one of our family’s favorite restaurants for years but we are really disappointed with our recent take out order. Not sure if they just changed their chef. We always order the same things every time we come but the quality of food is not as the same. The fried pork is too dried and overcooked, like you reheat the old food too many times. The shaken beef is too wet, not good as usual. We wish you could read this feedback and check things out since we always want to come back to support your business. Thanks!
Really hidden behind stuff on parmer rd. There is plenty of parking. The seating is comfortable. Service is great and food didn't take long either. We got the Tso chicken rice and spring rolls. Both dishes looked authentic and had fresh ingredients. The place had a weird fishy odor but maybe thats the seafood they serve. Prices are reasonable and portions are decent. The ambiance is held with low playing music. The tso chicken was too sweet for my taste and the rolls were fresh but a bit bland. Had to use the hot sauce to make it taste decent. Maybe we tried the wrong food but maybe I'll the next time I go, i will get a pho. Overall, would not go again.
The food here is very good. I had the beef stew and pork spring rolls. The beef stew comes with 2 noodle options or bread. I ordered all 3. The bread was fresh baked about 8 inch long baguette, warm with a crispy crust and a perfect complement to the stew. You get all the normal pho ingredients separate and i dumped them all in stirring and waiting for it to cool. While I waited I tried the spring rolls. They were filled with thin rice, lettuce and strips of pork. My first bite i took plain. The egg roll has a great crunch and the pork is tender and perfectly cooked. The second bite i used the peanut sauce and *wow* it was amazing. The sauce enhanced and brought together the spring rolls' flavors. The peanut sauce is had left I scraped up with the bread which was a treat. The only complaint i had about the food was the beef from the stew was Inconsistent. It included giant chunks of beef some melted like butter and others were a little tough. The biggest weakness was the service. This is the 4th pho location I've tried in Austin and the service was the weakest by far. First I was handed a single 12 ounce bottle of water which I finished half way through and I had to go up to the counter to ask for another. No one came to check on me. The lady who brought out and served the food was delightful, she seemed really pleased with herself and for good reason, the food looked and tasted great. The restaurant feels caught between a casual eatery and high end mid to high end quality. The inside didn't have a lot of character, the walls and decor felt like more of a diner then authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Might be a good location for a casual date but the service would have to improve. Definitely a lunch spot for professionals and small groups of friends. You likely spend at least $25, per person including tip and i felt the value for the price was spot on.
I ordered a Rice Combo. The food is tasty and typical Vietnamese food. What made me nauseous is that I saw a man (probably one of the owner) recycling unfinished bottle waters by filling up a half full bottle with the other unfinished bottle waters. Then he threw away the empty bottles and carried the full ones into a room around the kitchen area. I couldn’t help but kept staring at my bottled water and wondering if it was recycled.
To start off, the best part of the Pho was the broth, very good flavor and the noddles were nice. Besides that, the customer experience was terrible which is why I am giving this place two stars. First, we ordered double meatballs on our pho and it only came with 3 of them. So you telling me a normal order only comes with 1 1/2 meatballs!! Then, the server tried to steal money from my fiancé when he wouldn’t give the receipt until we requested a few times we wanted to see it; somehow he tipped himself 25% and we weren’t even given the option to tip. This is unacceptable!
This review is particularly for the chicken pho. PLEASE do not use grilled chicken for your pho! It is not good. Boil, stew, rotisserie, there are multiple ways to make the chicken in chicken pho that still honors the true taste. Grilled chicken in chicken pho is really a slap in the face… And while we’re at it, please do not use grilled shrimp in hu tiu!
The taste was OK. I ordered a Large Bun Bo Hue with extra pig blood for pickup. But when I got home, I found there was only one piece of pig blood — they didn’t actually add the extra portion. I recommend double-checking your add-ons when picking up your order.
Customers seated after us were getting water, menus, and their orders taken before us. We were only a party of two. Nobody approached us for about 15 mn. We decided to leave. We were regulars.
We saw a rat crawl across the concrete as we were eating. We lost our appetite.( We were seated at a booth close to the cashier area which is close to the kitchen.) I told the manager and employee and they said as long as the rat was outside and not inside ?!? They seemed to be aware of the problem. I hope people do not get sick. It was disgusting.
I stood at the front counter and 3 people just completely ignored bigot females acting like I didn't even exist several times. My first thought was, okay maybe they don't know I'm trying to place an order though I'm standing there reading the menu. Then the thought of how some Vietnamese people look down on other minority races and all the stories I've heard. The staff blatantly ignored me on purpose! Why, well I don't know for sure but I do know that I will take my money elsewhere!
We walked into Fresh Bowl Pho yesterday right behind another family. There was no host, so they seated themselves. A waiter clearly saw us enter, yet only approached them and brought them waters. Two staff members then came and cleaned a table right next to us, but still no one acknowledged us—not even a greeting. After waiting several minutes, we walked out. What makes this especially disappointing is that this has been a neighborhood restaurant for us and one we’ve eaten at many times. Being completely ignored like that was surprising and discouraging. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning or recommending it. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because losing repeat local customers over something so basic shouldn’t happen
Today was my day off, and I decided to take my son out to eat. I chose Fresh Bowl because it's close to home, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. We sat at our table for over 15 minutes, and no one came to take our order—even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all. I had to flag someone down just to get basic service. I asked for a pair of scissors, and they were visibly dirty. The spoons were stuck together, and when I finally got them apart, they still had sticky fish sauce on them. I requested a clean set, but even the replacements weren’t properly washed. The food didn’t make up for the poor service either. The steamed egg tasted old—like it had been reheated multiple times. The top was dried out and separated, which is a clear sign it wasn’t freshly made. On top of that, the fish sauce was extremely sweet and off-balance. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this visit was unacceptable. Safe to say I won’t be coming back.
My wife and I have been loyal customers of this restaurant, but today’s experience was shocking and unacceptable. I ordered a pho combination and had just started eating when I felt something unusually hard to chew. When I carefully spit it out, I discovered it was a toothpick! I can’t begin to describe how disgusting and dangerous this was. If the toothpick had been at a slightly different angle, it could have pierced my mouth, and if I had accidentally swallowed it, the consequences could have been severe. Thankfully, I avoided a worse outcome, but this incident has completely shaken my trust. I don’t think I’ll ever return after this experience.
