Haven't been to this place in years, but I'm so glad to have gone back. Delicious food and fantastic service. I highly recommend their queso and the crispy tacos!
Food is always quick & excellent. Service is 10/10 they went out of the way to make us comfortable. Was actually freezing outside on the patio with our pup as we knew those were rules- wind and temp dropped when they helped and invited us to inside so we could stay warm when they did not have to do that. Was checked on by multiple staff members, multiple times. Never had to ask or wait around. Great small business to support! Will be back again :)
Great little Tex Mex joint in East Austin. Excellent food! The fajitas are a bit pricey but a very large serving that easily feeds two. Would highly recommend.
Great casual dinner spot! Their menu is a good size where they have options for everyone but it isn’t overwhelming. All of the employees were very nice and friendly and all the food we’ve had there has been amazing. Their to go breakfast is also great! The breakfast burrito is the best one in Austin we’ve found.
Awesome spot for tacos. Staff is friendly. It was my first time there so I didn’t know what to get and went off their recommendations. I was not disappointed. They also had coffee with horchata which was a first for me. The breakfast taco with bacon was the star of the show but the fajita chicken, and beef taco did not disappoint either. Tacos are filled so you won’t leave hungry. I reccomend 2 tacos. If you want to be productive the rest of the day. Will definitely be back to try more of their menu.
We walked into this cute little restaurant and was confronted with the smell of home cooking. The sweet blond lady sat us and told us Lily would be right with us. Everything on the menu sounded good. Our waitress finally arrived and took our drink order. She didn't seem too happy to be at work. We got a half smile and a head nod. Our food arrived and it was amazing. The Ranchero is sooooo good and the tacos was overflowing. The only complaint we had was that we didn't get the blond lady as our waitress. She was so bubbly and friendly it seemed like she knew everyone who walked through the door. Instead we got stuck with the server with no personality.
A lovely local spot nestled in East Austin. Plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating depending on your preference. Prices are about average and the portions are appropriate. I'm not sure when they started charging for the chips and salsa but that's a little disappointing. Still worth it.
This is our go to restaurant for Mexican food when we are in Austin. The food, service, and atmosphere are always top notch!! The food is always delicious! Love brunch! Their chips & salsa are so good. Different from other Mexican restaurants. Love huevo rancheros which comes with carne guisada meat. So good and tender, best flavor. Love over easy eggs. Their flour tortillas are delicious too!! My husband had a yummy breakfast taco with eggs, bacon, cheese, and potatoes. So good. Their top shelf margaritas are delicious, on the rocks or frozen with floater on top!! The service is excellent, our server Faith, always takes the best care of us!! Love Donald too! Best GM! He always stops to chat with us. We always come back!! 😊😊
We celebrated National Margarita Day here which was an excellent decision. Margarita flights say whaaaaat yes I will have one! And guess what, they were delicious! These were like 3 incredible and unique margaritas - we had watermelon, spicy cucumber and sangria. The sangria was a frozen with a cinnamon swirl. They were simply delightful. Their skinny margaritas were also good. Food was also consumed, thank goodness. Their veggie burrito and cheese enchilada were very tasty. I loved their big bubbly chips and salsa with guacamole. Our server was very entertaining and was always checking on us. We had a great time here and will definitely be back.
There's something special here. The server helped us narrow down our choices, making superb recommendations. Everything was divine, but especially the spiced coffee. I was offered coffee to go after we paid, the sure way to win me over. Thanks for such a stunning breakfast experience!
It was my Mom’s birthday (May 4) and her favorite restaurant is Mi Madre’s. I got there early and the waitress was beyond helpful getting me settled and helping me make this meal special for my Mom (I wish I had gotten her name - she deserves big praise for her excellent service). What a great meal and a big thanks to Mi Madre’s for helping make my Mom’s birthday really special!!
Green sauce? Yes, please!! Had such a great experience here. They have indoor, patio and outdoor seating available (with a dog patio, of course) We came here for the breakfast tacos, which they have a great selection of and we were pleased with our selections. Had us a nice cup of Joe, too. You do have to pay for the chips and salsa, but we were okay with that. The chips come with a red sauce but be sure to ask for the green sauce! Gotta have green sauce with breakfast tacos or you’re just plain crazy. Overall great vibes and great food, give it a try.
This place is definitely off the path and unexpectedly good. I had barbacoa taco which had enough meat to make 2 tacos which i did after ordering an extra tortilla. My cousin ordered the asada enchiladas which he said were delicious. We also enjoyed a caraf of mimosas, which were amazing! Definitely stopping again when I am in town.
I came here for breakfast 2 different days. This place is great. The food portions are huge!!! I highly recommend the coffee. I was able to try both the cafe de hoya and the cafechata. The cafe De hoya is hot and has cinnamon and spices. It’s so flavorful and you don’t have to add any sugar. The cups they serve it in are super cute. The cafechata is iced and it’s a lot! This is a mix of cold brew with horchata (rice milk and cinnamon). I ordered the migas plate I was not able to finish the food. It’s a lot the only thing I found lacking was the potatoes. They needed some salt. They have several bean options for vegetarians. They also offer 2 different salsas. A red mild and a green spicy. I prefer the green one. I also ordered some tacos. Potato and egg, migas taco and the avocado lettuce and bean. I was not able to finish all 3 tacos 2 were enough for me so I just took home the migas taco. The potato taco was good no complaint. My fav was the avocado taco. I liked the combination of everything and the flavor of the black beans.

Nice spot with good Margaritas, decent salad (especially with shrimp) and a nice burrito. May not be my go to Mexican food spot, but the salad option is so good it is more likely I can go there with the wife and we will both be happy. Staff we very friendly and chips and spicy salsa goes great with a drink.

Pretty good food, I never like paying for chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant though. Service was fast. Not many options on food but good beans.

If you're looking for down to earth classic Tex Mex cooking in Cherrywood this spot fits the bill. \nThe carne guisada tacos were rich and tasty. The beef was oh so tender. Since this is cherrywood…
Came across this spot while looking for a lunch spot. Nice and clean, very friendly and speedy service. But unfortunately that was the only good thing. Refried beans were really watery something you do to refried beans to make them stretch longer to get more servings. The rice while it looked delicious lacked in any flavor but the texture was good to go. The carne guisada was definitely soft so that was a plus but again the gravy was really watery and the only flavor was the comino (cumin) but lacked any other flavor. I definitely had to add the salt and pepper to the entire plate for any flavor. Best part of my plate was the lettuce and tomatoes which is what i just ended up eating besides the two pieces of guisada meat. Needless to say the carne guisada plate was a let down for sure. My husband got the ranchero plate and that was the same the ranchero sauce was more like tomato sauce. Beans were watery again and the pappas (potatoes) were bland. Really disappointed definitely not what we expected.
I visited Mi Madres in Austin after hearing a lot of hype about their breakfast burrito, but I was underwhelmed. The burrito tasted like something I could whip up at home—nothing special. What really threw me off, though, was the horchata. It tasted like a virgin piña colada, which totally missed the mark for what horchata is supposed to be. And then we noticed the menu listed the burrito at $13, but we were charged $14.50. Not a huge deal, but just added to the disappointment. With so many great spots in Austin, this one didn’t live up to the buzz for us.
The food was terrible for my daughter & I. The restaurant was a nice place, nice decor & our server was amicable. I ordered the 2 Barbacoa taco plate which included 2 corn tortillas which were hard, …
