Date of Visit: February 4th, 2026 Time of Visit: 8pm Seated: Immediatly A nice spot for some very good and authentic Japanese cuisine, in a very authentic feeling setting. It was pretty busy for a weekday evening. I was seated right away, but it would have been harder to get a seat for bigger groups. The Ramen was very good. The pork belly was flavorful and tender, the ramen was cooked perfectly, and the broth was creamy and delicious. A very satisfying meal on a chilly evening.
The perfect place for an odd cool front night (by south TX standards), ramen. We had the non-spicy miso. Ordered at the counter, took a table number, found a place to sit, and were served within 5 minutes. The ramen was excellent and service friendly. Music was a little loud but good music (but I suppose that's the 6th St vibe). Parking was a bit limited so be patient in looking for a spot.
I love this place! They always bring the food out super fast! The set up is very cool both indoor and outdoor. The employees are very friendly. The food always comes out good and has a really consistent quality. The drinks are always changing and have a cool theme behind them. Even if it's packed it feels like there's space for everyone. This one's in a really good location right next to all the cool bars and other stuff in Austin. There's a bunch of really nice coffee shops and stuff like that next to it. This is the first place I would take someone if they were visiting Austin. My wife and I will always come back here it's just a cool vibe all around. You have to try the me so hot and also the sweet and sour Yoda's! All the appetizers are really good too. The quantity is a good size and the price is still reasonable compared to going out other places. It's the perfect place if you want to feel like you're getting an overall experience without feeling like you have to go through the formal dining situation. The parking can always be a little tricky but you can usually find a spot. There's a lot of lime scooters and stuff around also if you park on a different part of 6th and ride over. Overall I'd say it's probably one of the best places on earth haha. I don't really know what else good to say but if there was anything else good I could say I would say it about this place. I want to try the upstairs patio although I saw a sign that there's no food service up there but you can still bring your drinks up. Honestly I wish I was there right now!
This place was a lot of fun. The seating outdoors was incredible. Lanterns throughout, heaters when needed, lights, music in the background, and the decor was very fitting. Walk in and head up to the bar where you can look at menus and order directly from the bar, then you are given a number and you can choose wherever you would like to sit. Food is brought to you by very friendly staff as well. We had the Miso Hot, Miso *NOT* ( MILD version ) #6 Old Skool, Sho-yu Ramen, Curry Rice bowl, and Chashu Bowl. 10 out of 10 for the food. Very impressive.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review – Ramen Tatsuya If you’re craving authentic, flavorful, top-tier ramen in Austin, look no further than Ramen Tatsuya. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with a warm welcome and outstanding customer service that made the whole experience even better. I ordered a spicy bowl loaded with rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, seasoned pork, fresh corn, veggies, and ground meat — and it was absolute perfection. Everything was balanced, bold, and full of flavor. The sides, including the wings, were crispy and delicious. Even the drinks were on point. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the presentation of the food looks exactly as good as it tastes — just like the bowl in my photo. You can tell they put care into every detail. Whether you love tonkotsu ramen, spicy ramen, Austin ramen spots, noodle bowls, Japanese comfort food, or just great service, Ramen Tatsuya never disappoints. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a satisfying and memorable meal!
Ramen Tatsuya is an easy 5/5. I visited today and was genuinely impressed the ramen was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Miso-Hot (because I love spicy food), and it was incredible. Perfectly hot, full of flavor, and loaded with toppings that melted beautifully with every bite. They also offer vegan options, which is great for anyone looking for plant-based choices. The bar has a wide variety of drinks, including a couple of draft beers. The one we ordered was actually really good a perfect match for the meal. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the location is pet-friendly, which I loved. This spot has a spacious patio where dogs are totally comfortable. The staff is extremely kind and attentive; they immediately brought water for my pup and were friendly both at the bar and inside. I went around 5 PM, and the ambiance was great starting to fill up, but still relaxed. I even saw families with young kids enjoying the patio, which makes it a nice place for everyone. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!
Vanessa is hands down the best bartender ever! She gave me amazing recommendations on both food apps and drinks, and every single one was spot on. Her energy, friendliness, and knowledge made the night such a great experience. If you’re at Domo on E 6th, definitely ask for Vanessa—you won’t be disappointed!
Ramen Tatsu-Ya in Austin is a rare find in ramen excellence. Including the recent special, there are nine different ramen bowls on the menu, two of which are vegan. In addition, they have a nice selection of flavor “bombs” available, from which you may add to taste. Extra toppings are available as well. Small bites like edamame and gyoza, and sides like rice and salad can also be found on the menu. For me, I went with the featured special and dove right into a most delicious bowl of Texas Tonk Brisket Ramen. I don’t think I’ve ever had a ramen bowl quite so unique and flavorful. Between the pork broth, brisket juices, the jalapeños, and the house “Thunder Oil”, my mouth exploded in an absolutely wonderful flavor orgasm, and my face was on fire - all in a good way. Server Armand was most friendly and attentive throughout my visit. Highly recommended.
I had the curry ramen at Ramen Tatsu-Ya and it was phenomenal! The broth was rich, flavorful, and had the perfect level of spice. Every ingredient felt thoughtfully chosen and the noodles were perfectly cooked—chewy and satisfying. The atmosphere was fun and energetic, and the service was quick and friendly. Easily one of the best ramen experiences I’ve had. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more! Highly recommend!

Liked the ambience with mixed indoor and outdoor seating. The OG Tonkatsu had some flavorful pork, but the broth was just okay. They have an attached parking lot, so that was convenient!

Cool lil place with outdoor covered seating. Hostess was friendly and helpful. Everything ordered online which is getting old real fast, but everything came out real fast. food was excellent top to…
5 of us dined on a busy, Saturday night around 7PM, and there was a long line to get seated (about 35 minutes). It was cold, but the restaurant had plenty of warmers along the sidewalk and up to the door, so it wasn't uncomfortable. Once inside, the place was eclectic with cute puns and sayings written on the walls. You order all your food before being seated, and then servers are able to take additional orders, if necessary, from your table. The seats are large wooden cubes with rope handles on the side. They sound uncomfortable, but weren't. Food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time, and came out piping hot. The servers were polite, but just enough to not be rude. Again, they were very busy, so I'm not knocking knocking their score down just for that. Bottom line: Prices were reasonable, food was excellent (presentation, flavor, and portions), and I would recommend going if you're looking for a top ramen spot in Austin.
Ramen Tatsu-Ya has a lively atmosphere with mostly communal seating at long shared tables instead of individual ones. It reminds me of some casual ramen spots in Japan, so it didn’t bother me at all. The space has a cool aesthetic with red lanterns and warm lighting that gives it a cozy, slightly traditional feel. One thing that stood out was the noise level. The dining area had loud music playing while the kitchen seemed to have its own music as well. The two sounds competed with each other, which made the space feel a bit chaotic while trying to enjoy the meal. I ordered the #5 tsukemen and a beer. The presentation was quite simple with one slice of chashu, a lime, and some seaweed. However, the broth was excellent. It was one of the most flavorful tsukemen broths I’ve had, sweet and savory with great depth. I almost wanted to finish the whole bowl of broth, but the sodium might have been a bit much. The noodle portion felt smaller than what I’ve had at other tsukemen spots, and the noodles arrived slightly cool while the broth could have been hotter. Ordering is done at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Overall, a fun spot with bold flavors. I might come back next time to try their original ramen.
The vibe is pretty much the same across all location except this one has slightly better tasting food. This location is definitely way more popular so if you can go to the other locations I would recommend that because you are not missing much. On their website menu, there are ice cream sandwiches shown but when i asked about it, they do not have them. If you want garlic, they will charge you like $2 and then you have to crush it yourself
This was my first time here, and overall I had a great experience. I started with the frozen drink called Guavarita, which is similar to a frozen margarita and very refreshing. I ordered the OG Tonkotsu ramen, and it was rich, flavorful, and tasted very fresh. I also add a Spicy bomb which is the perfect pair with the ramen. The karaage was flavorful, but it wasn’t breaded the traditional way and was slightly burnt. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the ambiance was nice and welcoming. Overall, I would definitely come back and recommend this place.
Not just another Ramen spot. You order as you walk in. The menu is short and simple. Good prices for add-ons. You seat yourself at their bar seating or large shared tables. Good flavors, creamy flavorful Ajitama, and some of the best marinated tender slices of pork belly. My only recommendation is to add a bomb because the heat level is low. The design and layout is smooth for hosting a lot of customers or moderate sized parties (~15)
After eating at almost every other Ramen Tatsuya location we decided to give the East 6th Street location a try and man were we impressed. The restaurant’s decor is very nice but the real star is the back alley they have. The alley features a few booths and an open area with a bar that you order food and drinks from. There’s a water jug out there and you can get cups at the bar to self serve from it. Ordering was quick and the food came out fast as well but I will say that if you need a fork or soup spoons you should ask when your food arrives because we couldn’t find any once our waiter was gone. As for the food itself, it was pretty good. We’ve eaten so much at this chain that we have concluded you will never receive lower than a 7/10 bowl here, in this outing’s case we would put the bowls around 8 to 8.5/10. The OG is always flavorful and well balanced; lately we’ve been enjoying the Shoyu and its different toppings as well. For a quick dinner before you lose yourself in the chaos of Dirty Sixth, we highly recommend this Tatsuya location.
I love ramen and when I go places and see a ramen spot, I have to try. Ramen Tatsu-Ya did not disappoint. We started with the pan fried Goyza. This was good, not bomb, but good. I ordered the Miso-Ho…

Incredible. Thick broth, perfect egg, noodles were delicious. Guavarito was super good same with the chili oil gyoza. Only complaint was shoyu ramen only came with one tiny piece of pork :/

Came here after I decided to try it again after a few years. Unfortunately it's quite average. The croquette appetizer was decent but under seasoned and the miso ramen was average. Service was quick but the ramen was not worth the price I'd say. A bit too greasy on top. Not far from a great ramen with a few tweaks and flavor development!
Maybe Japan spoiled me but these noodles are just ok-good. The creamy broth is good. Noodles could be chewier. Edamame were not all fresh. The marinated eggs are too sweet. Liked the set up of long tables though. The younger kids liked it but they equally enjoy package noodles at home.
The OG ramen is tasty but it's also fatty and salty. The charsu pork was good mix of fatty and lean, and it breaks apart easily. The noodles were bland. The MI-SO-HOT is spicy spicy so expect a not so fun party in your mouth and the pork pieces was nowhere as good as the charsu pork from the OG ramen. The servers were really nice and friendly. They gave some great recommendations for things to do in the area.
Food is good but they don't seem to appreciate the neighborhood and make little effort to clean up outside. Specifically, there has been trash in the alley behind their parking lot for over a week …
