Always a great time anytime 😊 I make it a plan to stop by whenever I'm in Austin. Good prices and a very chill atmosphere. Everyone is very nice and ppl respect your space so it feels safe. I also posted some of the surrounding food truck 🚚 menus in their parking lot right in front. In fact, my favorite part is that they're open until 2 AM and the food trucks are usually open pretty late as well. Enjoy!
This place is so rad. Hot cider and mulled wine in the cooler months? Yes, please. They’ve got tea and other drinks too, and the best part—you can bring in food from the food trucks next door (mozzarella sticks and fries hit just right). The vibe inside is effortlessly cool, like the kind of spot you never want to leave. Easily my favorite hang in Austin.
Great “local” spot in west campus. It gets busy on the weekend especially when there’s live music playing. Gotta find street parking. Vibe was super chill, dress comfortable and think east Austin “hipster” scene. Easy-going crowd and good energy all around. Drinks were on point, I ordered a ranch water with salt on the rim and it was perfect. Most of the seating is outside and there’s a lot of little areas to sit in which makes the space dynamic and comfortable. We were lucky enough to make it for a live band that was a lot of fun to watch. Didn’t plan on it, but it was like hitting the jackpot. Cool spot for some patio drinks and good for groups too. Will be back!

Great college bar with a large outdoor seating area and consistently good music selection. Pretty sure I lost my ID here. 10/10. Will be going back.
Really great bar, retro atmosphere in the inside! Best music, had a live D J mixing it up!! Lots of outdoor seating, play dart, and if you're hungry, Zucchini Kill bakery is open until ten p m
The food truck there was sooo good (the Indian honey chicken w/slaw on fries, can't recall the food truck name). The first DJ was playing some really surprising and great music, and the patio had plenty of space to chill. One of the bartenders even gave us a couple of pints since the tap was out to pour a pitcher. Overall such good vibes and a much needed great evening with my buddy. <3
First of all I used to go to this place when it was Spiderhouse, since the 90s. I was really bummed out when Spider House shut down. However I was excited to hear that people from Yellow Jacket etc, open up a new place in the spot. I was even more excited when I found out that they kept a lot of its original charm. Places with history and character are disappearing in Austin very rapidly. Is very happy to see that much of the old feel of Spider House was retained in Tweedies.
I love this place. It has a great courtyard shared with Zucchini Kill Bakery and is dog friendly. There are a ton of food trucks in the parking lot next door which makes it a great spot to post up for a spell.
Wow, what a bar! Am I right? They have the most wonderful staff, and they have the biggest hearts. I particularly enjoy going here on Friday afternoons to see Olivia and Gabe, they really bring a ray of sunshine into my day when I’m fighting off the last demons of the work week (know what I’m saying?). They also have the best music there, particularly those handsome DJs they hire. I’m so glad there’s still a place in the live music capital where you can hear real life Vinyls! Another round of shoutouts for the newest members of the team Gabi . Thanks for the burger, I owe ya one 🤙🏻. Five stars.
Had a great time here on a quite afternoon. The frozen hibiscus lemonade was delicious. The music was great and the place was such a great vibe. Love the building and the repurposed statues out front. Coll patio and atmosphere.
Was recently joking with a few of the bartenders that I've been drinking at the bar since before it was that bar. Management has done a very solid job at maintaining the Spiderhouse vibe, but made the interior space more open. Overall the renovations area improvements, the patio is nearly identical, and the culture is still quality. Also, I've reliably and consistently had good experiences with every bartender here since they opened (post-COVID) and everyone is amiable and welcoming. Had lots of great conversations with other locals and regulars, and time willing and depending on season, I've spent a lot of hours here as I work in the area. I gripe, only a little, that selections can be limited and I've seen a couple things run out, but I'm picky. What they do have is a good value compared to the area, specials are solid, and the espresso is good (when I'm there at the correct time of day to have a coffee drink). Made over a decade of good memories and close friends here, and that culture is maintained in Tweedy's current iteration. The love and care are clear.

Great dive bar. Don't come here to be seen or stand out. Nobody cares! Love this place and the vibe!

Went here with my son to have a Birthday drink. It was a weekday midday so we were the only customers. Im sure it gets pretty busy at nights & weekends. I ordered a mojito the girl behind the counter did not know how to make so she googled it. I've had better but whatever. The bathroom was interesting
Amazing atmosphere, food options, vibes. Would be nice to have some more non-alcoholic options like non-alc frozens. Terrible bike parking - right behind a food truck on a slope. They should install better bike parking in the parking lot behind Tweedy’s where it is flat. It’s a very bikeable area and I organize events here often and want to continue doing so!

It's a good bar with a retro feel inside. Parking nearby is difficult to find. You can usually park on the road but again it's not easy to find parking. The place has plenty of seating outside and usually has a good vibe. Ideal to celebrate birthdays with a larger group! There are many food trucks near the bar so there are good food options available.
great little bar, but will have you freezing your tail off. pretty hot inside with limited seating so it’s mostly patio space. pretty chilly out there NO HEATERS. good beer, nice folks

I love OG Spiderhouse vibes, and I’m grateful for having it stay alive via Tweedy’s. My friends and I try to make it out to mai tai Mondays and it’s hit or miss. The last time I visited, which was this evening 8/18/25, music varied from Talking Heads (great, easily digestible and culturally relevant) to straight noise (which made me and the remainder of our group want to leave). We waited through several songs before we did end up leaving. I want to patron this spot again but I think more customer service would go a long way! Bar seemed empty 🖤

I like tweedys except for in the colder weather I won’t go because it’s too cold. Yall need to get some heaters or something. Otherwise great atmosphere and I’ll be back when it’s warmer.
I was going to start to be a regular customer because it’s nice it has a tattoo place and a bakery place and they have nice frozen drinks but JUST GOING TO LEAVE THAT OUT THERE, IF YOURE NOT A Certain RACE, DONT COME. I would leave them tips and such, and for some reason today I don’t know why I got ignored over CERTAIN customer base. I gave up waiting to be served but other people got service right away. PS. I never write reviews, this one had to happened I was upfront even said “excuse me” I don’t know what I did wrong. I don’t like putting people in the spot that’s why the photo is blurry. (FYI) maybe I really did something to offend them I don’t know to get ignored even when I said “excuse me” and two ignored me maybe they didn’t hear me even tho they looked at me but I don’t know maybe being Puertorrican I should learn where to hangout

DO NOT GO HERE OR AT LEAST BE AWARE OF SCAMS… It is such a shame that this place has such terrible service given that the atmosphere is so incredibly nice… this place had great potential. First I would like to start off by saying that the blonde/brown haired female bartender has the world’s shittiest attitude and has tried to scam my friends and I twice already by lying about our tabs being closed. She starts off by greeting us with rude and snarky comments (both visits) and then when I told her I wanted a closed tab she says assures me that she closed it but failed to provide me with a receipt to sign. The reason I was already skeptical was because she said the same thing to me last week and I found out that she was lying. I went up to the other female bartender (who was incredibly kind btw) and I was told that my tab was in fact not closed. When the same thing happened this past visit, she had the nerve to lie to our faces yet again until the other bartender told us our tabs weren’t yet closed. After hearing this she tried to save herself by saying the computer wasn’t working. You can’t scam people and treat them so horribly at the same time, it doesn’t work like that. It’s so obvious what you’re trying to do, it’s ugly and it’s embarrassing. Save yourself the time and energy by avoiding this place. Based on reviews, she’s not the only bartender that does this and/or adds more drinks onto people’s tabs. A lot of the negative reviews have also claimed feeling racist energy from the workers and tbh the only friends of mine that haven’t experienced something similar here have been white so I believe it. Regardless of skin color, beware and make sure you sign that receipt before leaving!
I was very disappointed with the service we received, specifically from the bartender. While I understand that everyone can have an off day, the bar was not busy, and the interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. I believe guests should be treated with courtesy and respect, especially before they’ve even had the chance to be properly served. So unfortunate because the atmosphere was nice, but the bartender was seriously rude. I truly hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I value good service and simply wanted a positive experience.

The older guys who work here have terrible attitudes. And keep trying to sneak things onto your tab. Very rude especially to Brown women unfortunately :( it's sad because most of us can tell how we will be treated by who is behind the bar that day. And everytime the prediction is correct.
Unfortunately, this was a horrible experience. In particular, I had an issue with a female bartender working the night shift on Saturday, 5/10/25. My friend had been patiently standing in line, but the bartender seemed to only be serving white patrons. When I politely stepped in to order two drinks—one for myself and one for my friend who had been waiting—she immediately got defensive and started yelling that she was busy. I calmly explained that my friend had been ignored for a while and that I was simply trying to place an order for both of us. Instead of listening, she gaslighted me, claiming I was yelling, which was absolutely not the case. I’m gay, and I pride myself on clear, respectful communication. I made that known and explained myself calmly, after which she eventually served me. The entire encounter was completely unnecessary and, honestly, traumatic. It was a celebratory night—a graduation crowd—where everyone just wanted to have a good time. I understand the stress of a busy shift, but treating customers with attitude and bias isn’t acceptable. If this continues, it could really impact business.
Brown/blonde-haired, female bartender. Terrible attitude. Terrible service. Do not recommend. Another patron and I were engaging in a joking activity and thought she understood enough to police. No fun allowed at the venue. Will not return until she’s gone.
