Great food especially when Megan and Karen are here in back of the kitchen. The services is excellent and they always in top of everything. That is why I keep going back. It’s great atmosphere and love that they play woman sports first.

Had a great time here with my daughter! We really enjoyed the atmosphere and all the memorabilia on the walls… from stadium chairs, to softball league freebies, to roller derby posters. The burger was outstanding… thick and juicy and tasty! Flatbread pizza could use a bit more sauce, but it was good. Fries were excellent. We are looking forward to coming back!

1972 is an exciting, welcoming bar focused on celebrating women's sports. On Guadalupe across from the UT campus, they're a great place to watch a game, get together with your team, or celebrate a victory. They have several bar stools, tables, and booths inside as well as a large shaded back patio with several more tables. The staff are friendly, and they have a pub menu including many beers, several on tap, and several cocktails. There is paid street parking on surrounding blocks, but it is free on Sundays. I look forward to going back soon!

I love this place! The staff/management is so kind and accommodating. Tastey drinks, good apps (all we’ve ever ordered- love the elote hush puppies) and women’s sports. Also special thanks to the manager for always setting us up with the game/fans/cold water outside :’) 🩵

I absolutely love coming here! 💗 It’s a judgment-free zone where you can bring your family and little ones to enjoy women’s sports in a warm, welcoming environment. The wings are amazing, the food is always fresh, and the drinks are fantastic. Prices are very reasonable too. What truly sets this place apart is the family atmosphere. The bartenders go above and beyond to make you feel at home, and it’s clear they care about creating a real sense of community. It’s kid-friendly, and when the owner is there, she takes the time to talk to you—which adds such a personal, caring touch. More than just a place to eat—it feels like family. Some days it’s quiet and relaxed, while other times it’s full of energy with passionate sports fans all coming together. That mix is what makes it special—whether you’re looking to unwind or get into the spirit of the game, you’re surrounded by people who share your love for sports and good vibes.

Absolutely great atmosphere!! Elote hushpuppies were delicious, great variety of all types of food options. Drinks are priced just right. Overall an amazing place to watch women’s sports. Can’t wait to go back. The owners are super friendly !

Had such a lovely time here tonight. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was genuinely amazing — attentive, friendly, and made the whole evening feel special. Drinks were spot on and everything just flowed perfectly. One of those nights that reminds you why you love a great bar. Can’t wait to come back!

Where do I even begin? I've been going here regularly since it opened, and from the start have had nothing but the best experience. The food is incredible, the staff is amazing and the general atmosphere is so inviting. If it's not too busy, the staff will strike up a conversation with you and they really make you feel like an appreciated person. And as an added bonus, they've been such a welcoming environment for Austin's LGBTQ+ community, openly supporting organizations and hosting events for queer groups.

We stopped in here to watch some women's basketball, and this place wowed us in every way! We got to also watch Olympic women's hockey and NCAA softball while we were here. The steak frites were top notch--exactly what I was looking for. The service was great, the price was reasonable, and the vibes were immaculate. I liked that the vibe was laid back, clean, and friendly. We wish we lived closer, but every time we come to Austin from now on we will be back.

Loved this spot — took my mom and we both had the best time. Hands down, order the 1972 burger — it’s the best thing I’ve had in Austin! The vibe feels super comfortable and safe, definitely a spot where the girls can relax and just enjoy themselves

The energy here is unmatched, warm, welcoming, and full of life. If you’re looking for a spot with good vibes, just a short walk from UT, this is the place to be. It's ok. Love the general concept, seems like a great place to watch women's sports. At happy hour prices, the burger is solid but not spectacular. I think my favorite part is the pickles and sauce, but tbh I still think Hold out and bon aire beat it for less. The fries were soft...they claim it's just how they make them. They told me they were remaking some for me to with a longer fry and then just never gave me new ones even though I was the only person there, so I don't know if it gets better. Margarita was pretty good. They take InKind. Overall I want this place to succeed, it seems cool, but objectively they're not really doing great food and drink wise from what I tried. I need to come back and try more. I think it's a great place for women's sports, and I bet it's more fun during events, but personally I'm looking for good food and drink experiences too, and I just didn't get that to a level that makes me want to go back often

Came here for a woman's muay Thai meet and greet and it was a very pleasant evening
