We stayed just during the day: enjoyed the beach and their large swing, swam in the lake and rented kayaks. Even though the staff didn’t speak English and we don’t speak Spanish, we managed to agree on everything - they were just lovely!
AMAZING! The place and the wooden cabins are beautiful, comfortable, and functional. Don Noé and Andy took great care of us, and the place is very well maintained. They could improve the shared kitchen's equipment.
The place was super comfortable, very peaceful, a space to rest and relax. If you want to prepare food, you can, but there's no refrigerator. There's a shared space for all the cabins to cook. The lagoon is very calm and super clean. The food we ordered from the kitchen was delicious, well-prepared, and in good portions. We had a great time. If you don't like the sticky texture of wet sand, I recommend bringing water shoes, flashlights for the night, and insect repellent. They don't have air conditioning because they use solar energy, but we had a wonderful time.
They offer various services, the place is lovely, very basic in its amenities, but if you're looking for peace and quiet, it's the perfect spot! Compared to other places, another cool thing is that you can bring your own food and drinks. They also open at 9 am, which is a plus if you want to make the most of the day. And the owner told us they have bungalows; they're really nice and at a great price.
Nice.!!
Super nice ranch with few people and plenty of space to chill and enjoy the day !
It’s about a hour from here to make it to the stromatolites at the rapids and back while I was going full effort on the kayak. For a more relaxed experience I would rent for 2 hours or find another place upstream. It becomes very hard if it’s windy so keep that in mind and also very hard to paddle back from the rapids. I was charged 50 peso for entry and 150 for the hour of kayak. The owner came down on bike to meet me at the dock. Beautiful water!
I spent a whole day here and there were just a couple of other people except for tourists from cruises which came were quickly loaded on pontons and taken down to the rapids. Very peaceful and quiet place you can see lot of fish and even turtles. Entry 40 pesos. Possible to rent a kayak (it's worth to see los estromatolitos). There's a restaurant and the food was really good. You can get there by car or by taxi as it's out of town.
If you're looking for a quiet place, this is the place for you. There were only about four families there. It felt very peaceful and private. No loud music, a stunning beach with crystal-clear, warm water. You can order drinks. Entrance is 40 pesos per person, and an umbrella with a table and four chairs costs 50 pesos. There's a restaurant, but we didn't eat there.
The place is beautiful, even though I've had cloudy and even rainy days like today. However, despite the strong winds, the water remained pristine. It's shallow, there were hardly any people, and it has platforms like palapas. I loved it. Above all, the water is extremely pleasantly warm (I'd say better than the hotel water). They charged us $40 to enter (children and adults). However, there are quite a few pebbles that hurt your feet.
Beautiful little spot to stop and take photos
Beautiful location on the river! 40 pesos per person for entry. Little docks and places to sit. Bright turquoise fresh water and lots of little places to see a variety of fish with some goggles or a snorkel. Dive along the bottom or float along the top, either or is so enjoyable. We went on a wi fy day and there was 3 other people which was nice for relaxing, and very enjoyable! You can rent kayaks or order food I believe but no one showed up while we were sitting there. They had tons of tubes and chairs :)
Absolutely fantastic! Great water, there are also deeper parts, not only shalow water, nice wooden piers for sun bathing, even food was good, especially fried fish. 40 pesos entrance fee, more than worth it.
Want to get great pictures come when it first opens, less crowded.
This place is a hidden gem! You‘ll get a perfect spot to take pictures, rent Kayaks or just relax and enjoy the clear blue water all by yourself. The place is very quiet and not crowded so you get enough time to enjoy and relax. Kayaking is quite cheap for 150 pesos/hour. It can be very challenging to kayak against the streamlines so be prepared for some activity :)
Private beach by Lake Bacalar. Deserted when we visited.
Very chilled swimming area, 15km from the main bacalar town
It's a great place to stay if you love nature. We booked this place for two reasons: access to the lagoon and because they accept pets. We stayed for three nights. Communication was always good. They greeted us at 6:30 pm to show us our cabin and gave us a choice of two options: 1) a small cabin with two double beds and a limited-use air conditioner (maximum four hours) because everything is solar-powered; or 2) a large cabin without air conditioning. We opted for the one with air conditioning, but we never used it for fear of losing power 😓. Instead, we always used the two fans after a cold shower, which worked perfectly for the heat (we just went a couple of days ago, and it's November). Honestly, it's hotter inside the cabin than outside, so sitting on the little terrace is a good option in the afternoons. Then we realized that maybe it would have been better to book the large cabin and make do with the fans. Other than that, the place is perfect for seeing and hearing animals! The little pier is fantastic! And it's far enough from Bacalar (about 20 minutes) and close enough to Xul Ha to easily buy groceries. They also have a beach area with a restaurant.
