The cashier is very nice and the food is good!
First here, and the food was yummy. I tried 3 dishes and my favorite one was the pork Lumpia. If you haven't tried, you should go.
This place doesn't have any pics posted here and frankly don't know why. I used to go here every week twice a week. Great food service mom n pop style. Lechon, crispy pata, etc. Best Philippino food in the area. I'm not even from the Philippines. But this is where the peeps go. I will update with photos this week of my dinner
Great Filipino food! My favorite place!
Delicious food and attentive service. I've never had Philippine food before and they patiently answered all my questions. The kare kare was really good. Shrimp paste goes with everything!
Awesome! Being Filipino from Hawaii I’m always craving good Filipino food. Some places are decent, some are good, but Crispy House is AWESOME! I have never used that word in any of my other reviews. I’m not a big eater…but I ate every bit of food! Literally, and we ordered a lot! The white rice was perfect. I like it super sticky! The pork adobo was fantastic! Fatty, tender and tasty! The Shanghai lumpia was perfect and meaty! The pancit bihon, was like my grandmother made it. I love this place. I just wish they would reopen the seating area. I understand there are probably multiple reasons for keeping it closed, so until then I just will remember to bring utensils and paper plates because it’s only a minor inconvenience, and Starbucks will have a regular customer that brings their own food to eat with our coffee and beverages that we buy there. Lol. I didn’t take any pictures unfortunately, and they definitely wouldn’t have been any justice to how good it tasted!!!
Crispy House has recently opened for dine in but my experience is purely for take out only. I recommend calling ahead if putting in a take out order. We have been here a few of times and each time our order took about 30 minutes to an hour depending on the time of day. We got the lechon kawali (fried pork belly), garlic fried rice and the Shanghai lumpia. Delicious, well seasoned and not too expensive. It was hard to find it the first time because they do not have any signage. It's tucked behind the Del Taco in the corner.
The best Filipino restaurant I have found in the US. The crispy pata is their specialty. Also good is the pinak bet, lumpia Shanghai, pancit etc. But like every thing else Filipino don't come here for good organization, fast service or clean bathrooms. Update: I just went back for the first time since the pandemic and they are take out only. Food is still just as great as ever but no in person dining and since Crispy Pata takes so long to make it is best to call your order in ahead of time. It took more than 45 minutes to get my order ready.
Love the food, everything we ate was spectacular...and we ate family style, got to try a lot of menu items. The Dinuguan is my favorite!
Perfect home style family style pinoy food. My coworkers and cousins showed me Crispy House, its in a strip mall, tucked away at the corner without noticeable signage. Plenty of parking, although the place probably only has like 5 tables inside, no outdoor last i checked. If you sit down to eat there, it takes a while because they are cooking everything good. I love their sinigang with fish and kare kare! I hope Crispy House stays forever
Wow. That crispy pata was ridiculously good. The crunch and seasoning was reminiscent of kfc's best fried chicken coating while the meat was very tender and had a clean porky taste. The location is a bit hard to find, there are no signs at all. But it's located in the correct location that Google maps says.
Friendly staff serving authentic Filipino food. The crispy pata was extra crispy and flavorful. Big enough to share with another person. Not a fan of the sauces that came with it though.
Best crispy pata you'll find. Extra crunchy skin and soft pork center you cant beat. I always pair this with their white rice, and beef sinagang (sorry if I misspelled it) sour soup. It's always a go to. Wont be disappointed.
Been coming here for over 10 years now, my family and I love this place. Best place to get sisig, pinakbet and Lechon.
We love their super crispy pata, Kare kare, pinakbet, lechon kawali, and their Miki bihon. Eating here feels like you are back home in the Philippines 🇵🇭 Thanks for the great service Crispy House!
This is one hole-in-the-wall restaurant that serves a very tasty Crispy Pata (Pork Hocks). This is their signature dish. This popular restaurant does not even have a name outside. They just re-opened the dine in service. A must go-to eatery.
Still THE best CRISPY PATA in CA! Nowhere can you get a better tasting and better value for Filipino food than this restaurant.
PinakBet is Best of the Best! Super Tasty and Healthy!
First time to be here and enjoyed the food… we will definitely be back…
I'm from out of town and will start having to budget in flight tickets to come back and try this annually from now on. That's how good this was.
I placed an order for 75 lumpia shanghai the day before for a party. Arrived there the next day and the food was pipeing hot and ready. Tried one in the car and it didn't disappoint, definitely 10/10. Was starving so that may have influenced my review but tasted really good to me.
This is a modest establishment ran by helpful, friendly caring staff. The food taste great, the prices reasonably priced and generous portions. I always visit when I'm in the area.
Possibly the best Filipino Crispy Pata in SoCal. The place is small but has improved from the last time we were there. It didn’t even used to have a business sign, people just knew how to get there. We always just go there to pick up food, Even if you tell them you’re picking up at a certain time, somehow food is never ready and you still have to wait 15+ minutes. Am from LA, but we still travel the distance if we are in the mood for really good crispy pata.
their Lumpia Shanghai is the BEST I’ve tasted in the Cerritos, Artesia, and Long Beach area. The size, portion, and pricing worth every penny! I hope like a lot of the Filipino Restaurants around the area, they do not change the quality! So far the best!!! So far….
the place is simple but they have the best crispy pata. Servers are all great , superb customer service. Plenty of parking in the plaza mall. I highly recommend it.
Good food, comes out as its ready though, not all at once, most of my group was finished before I got my dish. Halo halo is on point though, so delicious. They had a ton of catering orders that were slowing them down, they couldnt even answer the phone.

Good place for home-style Phillipino cooking. It's hard to find when you add it to Google maps, but it's hidden in the corner of the shopping center, plus it has no sign. Since the restaurant is small it gets crowded quick! Especially since the place is very family friendly. I tried the longoniza, shrimp fried rice, lumpia & chicken adobo. You get big portions for affordable prices. Enjoy!
Crispy Pata was so crispy on the outside, but yet tender meat inside! The Sisig dish was also tasted great...crunchy & not greasy. Ampalaya (bitter mellon) with Eggs tasted delicious & no bitter taste at all. Only one complain. We waited half-an hour for the food & they were not that busy. Don't go there on your 1/2 hour lunch break.
Crispy House (formerly Magic Wok) – Artesia, CA I’ve been coming to this restaurant since it first opened in 1986 when it was still known as Magic Wok. As a Filipino, I grew up on my mom’s and Lola’s home cooking—so I don’t say this lightly: when I can’t have a homemade meal, this is where I go. Now called Crispy House under new ownership, I’m happy to say the flavors are still exactly the same. It’s the kind of place where every dish feels like it was made with care, tradition, and love. Their Crispy Pata is legendary—perfectly crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside—but honestly, everything on the menu is worth ordering. Some of my go-to favorites are: * Lumpia Shanghai – crispy, flavorful, and addictive * Pancit Canton – savory stir-fried noodles that hit all the right notes * Sinigang – that classic sour tamarind broth with melt-in-your-mouth meat and veggies * Lechon Kawali – golden, crispy pork belly that’s pure joy with every bite This spot has been a family favorite for nearly 40 years, and it’s still just as good as I remember. If you’re craving real, comforting, Filipino food that tastes like home—Crispy House is a must-visit.
We love their crispy pata so much and we always get them for togo as a gift to our family and friends like whenever we're in the area we always grab like 2-4 orders of crispy pata ...it stays crunchy and juicy in the inside and if it's a day or 2 just pop in the airfryer and ✨️taste like freshly cooked again...first time trying their dine in... the order takes awhile and the serving of the other dish was a little small for the price but taste is good also but nothing special like their crispy pata.ill go back for the crispy pata again for to go but not to dine in.
Went here for their Crispy pata. It's delish! We also ordered calamari, but I didn't like it as much. Hubby also ordered a breakfast combo which was ok. Halo Halo was also good. Order before hand. It was our first time here and we waited 30 minutes for our food. Also, it's only to-go orders.
12/29/2023 = 4 Star = Add another star coz they open for dine in , i love their tokwat baboy version but i still love the fried tofu, hopefully they will add it on their menu . 1/28/2023 = 3 Star = we love to dine-in but only to go food , i don't know when they change to togo only .will try again if going home .

Friday 2/14/25 Dinner at Crispy House in Artesia with my friend Erwin. The foods are delicious and savory. Ordered crispy pats, sisig, Shanghai lumpia, and special fried rice. Marivic, restaurant manager, was hospitable, friendly, and provided us with great recommendations on their popular dishes. I recommend trying out this restaurant. I will be going back to try the other dishes on the menu. I’m officially hooked to the delicious foods. David Young Restaurant Enthusiast

Good Filipino food. A lot of selections from Savory to Sweet. I don't like that its hard to find from the street, no name or sign infront, and always busy. If you don't mind the wait, go here!
The service here isn't very good, but the food is good. I've called in numerous times, and they've picked up. Before I get to speak they say, "Please wait." Then you realize they're not coming back to the phone and can't even call back, because the phone is now off the hook. Crispy pata and sisig is delicious.
Drove a distance in rush hour traffic only to find out there is NO dine-in and only take-out! This is not cool for someone hungry and have to wait for take-out for more than 45 minutes to an hour! Website shows dine-in, but truth is, they only do take-outs and have been doing it longer than five years, as one of the customers complained. Bottomline, don't go hungry and place your order before hand. Good thing food was worth the wait!
You need to have a big patient when you eat in the restaurant.
Quoted 20 minutes for my food to be ready for pick up. Waited 45 minutes. I would've understood if I wasn't told multiple times that it was almost ready. I like to think I'm understanding but if you're not going to be honest with the situation even if it meant that hypothetically I ordered the only dish you have to make from scratch because you didn't think of properly prepping for the day or didn't even consider mentioning it's not available I won't be as tolerant. This isn't the first time it's happened to me and I'm talking precovid we well. It was argued before that it's kind of part of the dining experience but I don't think take out applies here. I'll take the extra 20 minute drive on the road to MFK in bellflower next time if I really just want take out service.
I have been going to Crispy house for awhile now. It seems every time I order something is missing. I always order Entree with side of rice, never get the rice. Today I decided to check the bag and again missing the rice. I went back to request rice, and I had to pay extra even though i ordered +4 Entrees. Always check your bag guys, and know your get a free small rice with your Entree.
Came to have dinner with my mom earlier today around 6pm & it was not busy. We were seated, given the menu & no one bothered coming to our table to ask if we at least knew what we wanted to drink to start off. Waited 18 minutes to even get acknowledged, have someone bring us waters to start off or take our order. We signaled one of the waitress to let them know that we were ready and we were told "wait one second". As we waited, a huge party of 8-10 people were sat down, had their waters ready & appetizers ready(probably ordered ahead of time?) Then we saw a party of 2 were sat down & quickly they brought waters to them & the waitress was taking their order. By that time, I told my mom to let's go because clearly no one wanted to take our order! So we grabbed our stuff, got up & walked out. As we were walking out, they seen us and didn't even bother saying anything or tried stopping us. Not sure if they don't give service to Latinos and just their people, but this was such a horrible experience and service! I'm a huge fan of Filipino food & to think that this happened to my mom and I is upsetting. Any Latinos who try going here, hopefully this doesn't happen to any of you! Good luck & I hope this restaurant trains their staff to have better customer service in the near future!

Food is ok but boy do they have terrible customer service. Service is very very slow as it took our food over 45 minutes to be served and the staff seems to be accepting of the slow service. Noticed a few to go customers who called their order in, cancel their total order and walked out once they found out how long the wait is after being told that their order will be ready in a half an hour. A total of 9 dine in customers so they are not busy at all.
We ordered sauted ampalaya .. ewe it taste boiled .. still hard / raw with some hard small few slices of beef .This is not even sauted ampalaya . The Crispy pata is supposedly the hock , what we got was pigs feet sliced into half . Then the famous sisig they claim a very popular dish was chopped fried pork with lemon red and green chili - - wheres the sisig there.. no egg and not sizzling .. its coldddd. Price is not cheap ha . Serving size is small . Even the service itself is sooo poor . Place looks full and crowded because its very small with a few table chairs that are old and ugly .. Not even worth ONE Star.. Grrrr place and food is digusting
After driving out of the way to get here in heavy Friday traffic, the girl at the counter tells me they don't put Abodo gravy over the rice and it would take 30 minutes for get order. I ordered the Adobo Chicken anyway. She said no receipt available because no paper. She then came back and said they're out of Adobo Chicken. I asked for refund. She TRIED to tell me , no manager and come back later for refund. No fool here. No adobo chicken. It was 1:00pm. They don't close until 8pm. What's really going on?
Is there a negative review? The woman owner and kitchen chef are the worst!!. Sinigang was extremely sour and we requested to get it fixed. The kind waiter offered another dish if we wanted, so we ordered another dish. The woman owner came out and loudly said that they cannot replace it because the chef refuses to cook us another dish. Terrible attitude on both the owner and cook.
So rude to people who are not their race! I would give a 5 star if they would change their horrible ways of talking to non Filipino people. Just cause one is not Filipino doesn't mean they don't enjoy the food. Check your selves Crispy Pata. You would be a better place if your attitudes were different. Plus you should feel proud that other races come to eat her and over from here. I called and asked if there was Pork adobo and the lady on the phone said yes. I got there and ordered all of a sudden there was none, although the group beside me was being served a Plat of pork adobo! Shame on you Crispy house!
They never pick up the phone. Tried to order on the phone for pick up but it went straight to a busy tone or when it rang, it asked for an access tone? Tried 15 mins. When you do get the order placed, you got to wait ANOTHER 30 MINS to even receive it from them. They used to be so good back in the day. This place needs to have updated system..Its 2024, at least have a website or something.
I called inquiring about their adobong pusit. I wanted to order that along with lechon kawali and pancit canton. The person on the phone is very short and wanted to hang up the call already like I'm inconveniencing her. So I didn't place my order. Hopefully they have better customer service.
Just because the crispy pata here is the best doesn’t mean I should put up with the most terrible customer service. Slow as sloths, they do not acknowledge someone standing in front of them, and it takes at least an hour or more for any order to be ready. I really don’t understand how there aren’t more complaints here.
Great binagoongan though nothing else,No one smiles here, everyone seems overworked and unhappy, service charge of 18% for a party, they give you the food but will not return if you need anything and keep avoiding eye contact, we asked for water refill and napkins a few times and no one came back, if you want to risk disappointment to try the binagoongan then i suggest you bring your own water and napkins, people who eat here seems “conditioned” to this type of treatment because items are cheap. Again great binagoongan, all the rest of the food and “service” are just disappointing. Staff are just too stressed out and overworked to care or even apologize.
We often call to place our order here and their food is great but the waiting time is unacceptable. When they say 1 hour wait, they meant more than that. Today I was here again to pickup my order and I had to wait longer for my order. I gave them more than an hour but it was not ready yet when I got here. This place has a potential to expand and grow but they're satisfied with how small and bad their service is.
