My 7-Spiced Marinated Chicken was hot and quick but needed a little bit of A-1 sauce, which they readily provided. Customer service was good. After you place your order in line, they’ll give you a paging device when it’s ready. They have open seating indoors and outdoors for groups but parking is a little tight.

I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken w/ mashed potatoes. The CFC was warm, good & tender. The cream gravy was warm, good & tasty. The mashed potatoes were room temp & a little bland. I added a little salt 2 them which gave it more flavor. They could have been served it warmer. The Coke was also off. It needed more carbonation. Would I come here again ? Yes

My dad and I love Jax. We usually always get the shrimp and fish or grilled chicken breast, but decided to try out their nachos. NOT our favorite! Chicken was cold, not much flavor, and their potatoe soup was loaded with pepper. Again, this was a 1 time thing, we usually get other plates and food has been delicious almost always. Service was great and atmosphere was good. They even have a mini little arcade area by the restrooms.

The food was good (mostly) but the fee to place an online order which doesn't even include the packaging fee they charge is enough to keep me from returning. I guess nickel and diming their customers is worth it to them since they do it at all of their restaurants.

Hadn't been in years. Penne pasta great. Burger would have been better but the mustard on table had not been shaken or decapoed. So spouse finally got seal off only to just have watery mustard juice . Prices not on menu just on specials board. Very chilly, napkins packed tight.

Something different but nothing spectacular. Mash potatoes and gravy combined was delicious. However, the chicken fried steak and gravy was too salty. Not well balanced. Was alittle tough as well. Pricing was okay. Downfall-no toast, and only one side. Friendly staff

This is my second time eating at had I didn’t have the burger the first time and if I come here again I won’t be ordering it, the burger itself looks amazing but the patty was bland and burnt and for a burger that has tomato and lettuce it’s very dry not to mention the bacon felt like I was chewing jerky. I'm done with Jax. With that said-- I grew up going to Jax Grill as a kid in Bellaire in the early 90s, fantastic memories, great food and atmosphere. I was a picky kid, but you could guarantee I'd find something good to eat which my parents loved. When I moved back to Houston for school in 2009 Jax was my first stop, still decent! However the past few years they've really gone downhill. I keep wanting to give them a chance but I'm done. For my birthday my wife paid $50 for a chicken fried steak that had shrunk to a burger sized patty inside of a soggy steamed batter and bland fajitas + dessert. I should have called it quits then, but I'm apparently a masochist. I still go back for the Southwest Fajita bowl on occasion but there's usually something wrong with it, typically stale chips, etc.. Today however I went for the fajita bowl and fried okra to-go. I live blocks away, less than 5 minutes.. everything in the fajita bowl was cold, or tepid at best, chips stale, probably not food safe if it was sitting out for who knows how long. Plus the real nail in the coffin was the fried okra, while delicious it shouldn't cost nearly $8 for a previously frozen fried vegetable. I'm absolutely upset my once wonderful neighborhood restaurant has fallen so far. I'm writing this review while I reheat my meal I should have been eating 20 minutes ago. Updating to add: beware of ridiculous up charges if you're an adult who wants to order off the kids menu. Some people dont want or need a ton of food but need to eat. Why upcharge for ordering off the kids menu for a simple quick burger when it ends up costing the same as a full sized burger and fries? Absolutely unreasonable. Update no.2: forgot to mention how unwelcoming the front end staff has gotten. Sour looks and very unfriendly even though I'm a (former) somewhat regular. Zero enthusiasm and it reflects poorly on the already mediocre brand image. The more I think about how this place has declined the more disappointed I am. RIP Jax, just in time for Halloween.

terrible cook. Absolutely does not know how to fry. Cook a gigantic. catfish and the fish slides right out the corn meal. They are not drying the meat or battering properly. Same issue with chicken fried steak. Do not get anything fried here. Waste of money today

Me and Husband ate here on today, 7/30/2025, coming from a Dr visit.He had the fish and chips it was horrible. The fish had a fishy smell to it, and it was seasoned at all. I had the crispy chicken wings they were so horrible the wings were fried good but was not seasoned at all. We are from out of town, and we wasted our money for real. We will never come back here again.

My burger & 4 onion rings were $15+, and I had to make it myself. The patty itself was overcooked & burnt (I asked for medium, but it's very crunchy). The lettuce was old and soggy. The onion rings & mushrooms were old & cold. They made my son's $20 burger wrong too. Plan on spending $4 for your drink too. WAY OVER PRICED FOR CRAP FOOD! You're better off going to Mc Donald's.
