What an amazing place. Just entering the Diner with the beautiful and bright decor, the wonderful attention and service from Amelie was beyond. The food was delicious and great portions. The prices for specials great. I’ll definitely be going back.
New York Diners have a vibe of their own. Usually it's huge rundown spaces with giant menus and mediocre food. You walk away saying you ate at a New York diner. I tried Monte Carlo diner for the first time today as I was in the neighborhood and early for my morning appointment. While a typical New York diner, it wasn't huge it was clean and cutely decorated, and the menu, while large, was not overwhelming. They weren't busy and the man at the counter brought me coffee which was hot and stayed hot. I chose the two eggs and added on corned beef hash. It's always touch and go when you order this in a diner but this was very tasty. The hash browns that came with it had lots of crispy pieces and onion red and green peppers mixed in. I was pleasantly surprised and will certainly stop back again when I'm in the neighborhood or maybe even go out of my way to go back.
Delicious all day breakfast in a clean, casual environment. I had the new pancake special which was delicious. I received excellent service from Omayra who was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back!
This is a very quiet diner. It's very low key and the service is very attentive. Its your typical "mom and pop" diner. Everyone seems to get along. The food is great, I'm surprised how there is never any people. And its extremely clean inside, which I love. They have an all day breakfast menu, and brunch on the weekends.
Stumbled across this gem and was very impressed. The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated. Great playlist created a joyful atmosphere as we sipped our wine. The service was top tier! Our waiter was inviting, accommodating and professional! I can’t remember his name but will be calling the manager to let them know what a great employee they’ve got. The food was delicious! I was particularly impressed with the fries. Diner fries are usually terrible (too thick, soft and flavorless) but these were crispy and tasty. It’s only been opened for 6 months and I foresee this place becoming a staple in the neighborhood. I wish you all the very best!
I found a such great brunch spot in Harlem. Benedict eggs just beaten up. Love all kinds of eggs from their menu, from omelette to eggs with any kind combination. Another killer is meatballs spaghetti, you can tell the difference between house grounded beef. The attendants at the restaurant are super kind and passionate. Nice and quite seating with a espresso bar and pastries.
This diner is great! Prices are excellent, the food is fresh and tasty and the service is exceptional. Especially the shrimp basket, big shrimp fried just right, French fries hot & crispy and brioche rolls is buttery and delicious! I really enjoyed this diner in our neighborhood. I'm so glad they came!
So excited to have this new diner open up! I dined here once they opened (soft launch right now). The inside is so beautiful, pretty decor inside and lovely paintings all over the restaurant (check the art in the bathrooms)! For food, they literally have so much to choose from - breakfast, lunch and dinner options. I really liked their omelet with salmon and cream cheese, kale salad, and I also loved the shrimp and grits! I want to come back and try the rest of the menu items!!
Just what was needed in this area. A diner with delicious food, a beautiful space and great staff. With a full bar, I’ve cream, coffee, and soon to be open 24 hours this is a great addition to the neighborhood. They worked hard to get this space ready and it shows. Beautiful large windows and lots of natural light.
This is my gobyo place if i want to eat near by. The atmosphere is always inviting & the service is friendly. The just changing the menu & i look forward to tasting the new items on the menu.
I’ve been a customer since this place opened and have seen a clear decline in both service and food quality, while prices have continued to increase. The weekday cook (after 1 p.m.) consistently prepares food poorly. Dishes are overly greasy, over-easy eggs are not runny, which defeats the purpose of over-easy, and overall presentation is sloppy. The difference compared to earlier years is noticeable. On weekends, the cook does not know how to properly make an omelette, which is a basic expectation for a diner. Overall, the quality has steadily gone downhill. I will continue to come only until I find a nearby diner that delivers the quality and consistency this place no longer does.
This place is pretty solid for the neighborhood. The food and drinks are enjoyable, but the service could definitely improve. We were a party of five, and our server never checked in to see if we needed anything or if everything was okay. I’m willing to give it another try, but if the service doesn’t improve, I probably won’t return.
I just ordered breakfast at this diner and I gotta say it’s way over priced and considering what they charge you’d think the food would be made to specifications? Nope. Over cooked eggs which to me is the greatest faux pas when serving BREAKFAST. I ordered my eggs over medium, these are BEYOND well done. Server was nice but seems to have a language barrier. I will say the place is aesthetically beautiful. Other than that, I’d say pass. Won’t be returning.
MOLDY FOOD! I wanted to love this place so bad. I've been eying it for a while. I took a leap of faith and went in. The place is really nice inside with great ambiance. The decor is nice. The menu is extensive. The prices seem a little steep for what they offer. Unfortunately there were no more than 5 of us and it took about 20 minutes just to get served water and asked what I wanted. I got the avocado toast with poached egg and bacon crumble. Upon receiving my food the color was off and there was a mountain of onions and tomatoes scattered around the plate. 3 little pieces of bread with some avocado and a small poached egg. The toast was not well seasoned (I had to add salt and pepper more than once) and it tasted kind of rancid. The bacon was old (it was a brown color and chewy). My tomatoes had mold inside. The bread was a weird olive bread and not well toasted. Upon brining this up to the waitress she just said I'm sorry about that but didn't ask if I wanted something new/ etc. I was still charged about $16 for this. I wish I spoke for myself more but my actions will speak louder because I'll never return.
I was really disappointed with my experience. The food took a very long time to arrive, and when we tried to ask about it, the waitress seemed annoyed and frustrated. It felt uncomfortable to even speak to her. The food wasn’t worth the long wait or the attitude. I hope management improves their service because this was very disappointing.
Honestly, at this point it’s laughable how bad this place is. I’m a local and I’ve attempted to go here multiple times because of the pretty esthetic but each time the food is terrible. I mean like the basics like chicken Ceasar wraps and turkey burgers, the breakfast is even questionable andddddd on top of everything each time the food has taken 3 hours to come out. So, this review was at my final attempt to eat here. Monte Carlo will never see me again.
Definitely will never come back here again, They can’t accommodate large crowds, so don’t even waste your time. They forgot to bring us water we had to ask for silverware, ask for a mimosas, even though they were supposed to come with the brunch menu. Everything we asked for was like pulling teeth. The food was mediocre, The presentation was sloppy. I’m not sure who the cook is but they definitely need a new one. My aunt ordered French toast. They just dumped cinnamon on the bread, not even mixing it in to the batter… I wish I could give them zero stars.
