Great food, I love the pho and thai iced tea. Not a lot of people usually so there are no lines, definitely recommend.

Best Viet food in Berkeley area, been living here multiple years, trust me I’m Viet born in Vietnam. Just opened a few months ago, flavorful pho. They have bone marrow so you don’t need to go to restaurants in Oakland or San Jose. Thick cut of beef. Bún Chả is another good dish. Recommend avocado smoothie sand salted cheese coffee. Will definitely come back and spread the words.

The service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was cozy and clean. Whether you’re a pho lover or trying it for the first time, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Five stars for the service and spaciousness of the place. I say space is important because in a typical pho restaurant, tables are tight. Here you don’t feel constricted. Nice bar area too. Food is good but not spectacular but I still enjoyed it. Prices are on the high side as expected in this area of Berkeley. Definitely recommended.

I came on the first day of Lunar New Year. I saw both of the restaurant’s owners work in the kitchen because there were no employees. All tables were full, slow service but I’m glad that they came to us and explained about being short-staffed. Food is good as always. Was introduced 2 new dishes: beef ribs pho and chicken breast pho. Both were fantastic. Authentic beef broth, no msg which I’m allergic to. Will definitely come back and bring more friends! Keep up the good work!

Happy to report that we had a delightful experience at 84 Viet, from start to finish! For those who might have seen some of the bad reviews, don't let them deter you. They are significantly improving. We visited on a late Sunday afternoon to an uncrowded and relaxed atmosphere. The service, both over the phone (called to ask if they had park banh mi’s) and in person, was incredibly friendly and efficient. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious: The veg spring rolls were fresh and perfectly crispy. Our kiddo loved the tofu pho, it was comforting and flavorful, with a rich broth and tender tofu. The banh bao was a delightful surprise, soft and savory. For meat lovers, the pork banh mi was also a standout, with a perfectly crusty baguette and well-seasoned pork. To wash it all down, the Vietnamese coffee was robust and energizing, and the Thai iced tea was wonderfully sweet and refreshing. Beyond the great taste, the prices were very reasonable, offering excellent value for the quality and portion sizes. Our daughter even asked us to put Viet84 into our family night out rotation (she is vegetarian and they have plenty of options she wants to try). Overall, Viet 84 provided a genuinely enjoyable experience. With delicious food, friendly service, and a comfortable setting (plus games on the screens, won me over!), it's clear they are doing things right. I highly recommend giving them a try, you won't be disappointed!

The food was so nicely prepared and plated nicely. Server DJ nice and always checking up on us. Love the egg rolls and vermicelli, big portions! Going to come back soon! My friend tried the vegetarian options as well and loved it.

I’ve gone here a couple times with my friends and the food is great. I like the ambience and its close to campus for UC Berkeley students!

We have late night dinner as they are close at midnight on Saturday night. Pretty good food, I ordered Pho Ga and Vermicelli Grilled Pork. The restaurant was clean. I definitely will be back.

Ordered a tofu noodle bowl for takeout and it was delicious! Super generous portion of tofu that was really well marinated. The sauce that came with it was great too.

First visit we stopped in for banh mi sandwiches to go. They were great! Came back to try the pho - beef pho was really bad, with dry, tough meat and strange broth flavor, which matches some other reviews I see here. After that visit I swore off coming back but here we are again. I got a chicken banh mi, which was good, and my girlfriend’s veggie pho was better than last time, definitely an improvement! However what sealed the deal this time was the water. It tasted like chemicals and was undrinkable. Only one server and one chef so service isn’t quick, but for me the food and drink is the dealbreaker!

3 egg rolls for nearly $12.... How in the world does that make sense. Will not be a return customer. At 8 cents a gram that means an eggroll costs $36 per POUND which is 30% more than cost of fresh lobster tail per pound.

Spring rolls were not very good and the pho was just lacking flavor overall. The noodles seemed to be all chopped up. No real huge strands and very mushy. Spring rolls were sour?

Me and my husband have been on the hunt for Vietnamese coffee and saw that this restaurant had salted cream Vietnamese coffee. We finished lunch in the area at 4:00pm and saw that 84 Viet didn’t open until 4:30pm. So we waited. Walked around until they opened. Stood outside around 4:28pm like crazy people just for some coffee. All of the lights were off and we thought, “Well, there’s still 2 more minutes”. Waited until 4:37pm. Nothing, pitch black but there was a cook in the kitchen so at least we knew they were actually going to open for business. Nothing. I understand emergencies can happen and/or people can be running late. But for your restaurant to be pitch black 5+ minutes after your listed opening hours is really unfortunate. We waited around the area for 40+ minutes for nothing. Too bad we weren’t able to try any food or coffee!

I ordered food on Snackpass as I am a Berkeley student and was on the go. Wanted to give the restaurant at try because I pass it quite often. I received my food as “take out” however this was the only option available on the Snackpass app. The restaurant was empty when I got my food, I sat down to eat and as I was seen assembling my pho plate I was then told I had to leave and next time should not be ordering If I’m going to eat inside. I understand their policies but this was a very rude and upsetting experience. Another employee saw the situation and told the woman addressing me to leave that it was okay for me to stay; there was no problem with me eating inside. However the woman continued to tell me I had to leave and I didn’t even get to enjoy my food. I wish the service would have been a little more polite.

It's not a bad place to eat. Food wise but they don't know how to correct their mistakes and don't even. Say sorry or apologize. When they do and I still give them a tip.
