This spot was recommended to me by so many people and I have to say I enjoyed it! I had the sweet chicken kitchen special and the flavors were great! I also tried the tom yum soup, which was great as well! It was very busy inside for a Wednesday night and all the activity was giving street food culture. I would recommend and will definitely come back!
The bay's most authentic Thai restaurant. I love it. I have been here so many times.
I ordered pad woon sen (pictured) and my partner ordered pad se ew. Tasted great and a good portion size. If you want more spice, you can ask for chili paste. The staff easily accommodated removing egg from the pad se ew. In general, the waitstaff were efficient and approachable. Service was very fast, though the food came out at different times. However, the gap was only a few minutes, so it's probably just due to limited kitchen counter space and not a big issue to me personally. My partner and I were lucky to be seated immediately, though the restaurant filled up pretty quickly during the lunch rush.
TLDR: Overall: An easy, delicious go-to place for spice, flavor, and a stuffed stomach My Order: Pad Kee Mao with tofu, sometimes extra spicy. Price Breakdown: Usually $16-$17 total per meal. Portions: Excellent portions! 1 noodle/curry dish enough to be stuffed and even take some home Halal/Vegetarian Friendly: Vegetarian options are well labeled, tofu is a protein option, and many dishes can be requested to be made vegetarian Would get again: I've eaten here so many times, what's another time? Every time I've come here, I've gotten exactly the same thing - the Pad Kee Mao- and it still hits every time. The food is always so mouthwateringly perfect which the right combo of spice and savory, soft and crunch. My bonus points are awarded for the tofu which is always so crispy and flavorful - never cold and soggy. They have the option to up the spice, and considering I have a pretty high spice tolerance, their highest extra spicy version really is spicy! I recommend getting it normal spicy and asking for their chili oil to adjust as needed. The environment is lovely and great for a one-on-one or small group situation. Note that it does get busy here often, but the dine in experience is much better than take out, so do account for some wait time.
Came here with a friend on a Friday night, it was quite a crowd, had around 30-40 mins of waiting. We had Moo Ping as appetizers, Kua Gai and Green Curry as mains and they all came together in about 5 mins of waiting. They’re all very tasty! We were very full! Definitely recommended if you like southeast asian food! Excited to be back sometime in the future!
Imm Thai serves ridiculously good Thai food and is one of my favorites in the Bay Area. I no longer go to college anymore but will go out of my way to come back to Berkeley just to visit them. The restaurant interior is on the cozier smaller side so it tends to be busy at all times of the day but the wait isn’t too long as they turn tables quickly. Food here is the star of the show and you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. My personal favorite dishes are the pad see ew, pad kee mao, and the pumpkin curry though you’ll want to try everything. Each dish is reasonably priced so you can feel good coming back again and again. They’re located right on University next to campus and other popular spots so stop in!
Love the food, there was a bit of a wait, but it was well worth it!! I got the crispy chicken as my entree and for dessert I got the sticky rice with mango. I highly recommend it. Portions were good and the fresh ingredients were amazing and hit the spot. The atmosphere is cute and the staff is friendly.

Food is amazing, amazing service, so so good!!!! The duck is really good, we actually didn’t have anything that wasn’t excellent at a great price!

Our first dinner on the West Coast after traveling all day. We tried two different curries, a noodle dish and the chicken satay. Everything was fantastic. Service was friendly and very attentive.
Loved the moo ping but thought the pad thai and soup were just okay. Not insanely special thai food to me being from SEA and having lived in LA, but definitely a solid option thats close to Cal
I wanted to try a new to me Thai dish and I got the duck over spinach served with Rice. It was good I enjoyed the duck and used the curry sauce from the roti (which was bomb) to dip it in. The server was really nice and suggested the perfect curry for a non-spicy girly. The place is small, but has a charm about it that made me feel comfortable.
This was the very first restaurant I tried after arriving in Berkeley, and I chose it based on the great reviews. I’m glad to say it didn’t disappoint! The place usually gets busy after 5:30 pm, so you need to sign in your name on the queue system outside. If you arrive a bit earlier, the wait is generally short, though during peak hours it can take longer. The service was fast and efficient, and the staff were friendly. I ordered the spicy fried rice with chicken, Tom Yum soup, and Thai iced tea. All the dishes were delicious. The flavors were rich, well-balanced, and had just the right amount of spiciness without being overwhelming. Overall, a great experience and definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in Berkeley.
Nice place, good food, decent wait (30-45mins) for a Saturday at 1:30pm. There’s a great bookstore around the corner if you want to kill time! We ordered pad thai, pad see ew, pad kee mao, kua gai and moo ping. The pads’ noodles/flat noodles are chewy! Kua gai was interesting, with the same flat noodles. My beef pad see ew wasn’t too sweet but the beef was way overcooked/dry (suggestion: get pork). The moo ping starter was well marinated meats but way too dry, even with their chili lime dipping sauce, it didn’t help lubricate it much. Would eat again!
Great food. Lots of dishes to choose from. Fast service. Clean. Expect queues on peak hours.
Not good. Yellow thai curry was okay but Thai fried rice was horrible. Not well prepared

Fast friendly service. Good food and value. Great portion size. My client had a shrimp salad, which she enjoyed. I tried the sweet chicken today, but will try another entree during my next visit.

We ordered takeout from this place and got their Grilled Chicken Satay, Spicy Pork Pad Se Ew, and Spicy Beef Pad Kee Mao. The chicken satay was good, and the flavor was nice and well-seasoned. Both the Pad Se Ew and Pad Kee Mao were just ok. The ingredients were fresh, but the flavor was lacking overall. The noodles weren't fried well, so they had a mushy texture. Besides, we ordered both dishes spicy, but they had no heat at all, very mild and leaning toward more toward the sweet side.
Prices aren’t too bad. Unfortunately, this place is missing the mark on some important aspects of their food. We had the pad see ew, yellow curry and their chicken satey skewers. The skewers with the sauce was very good. The yellow curry wasnt bad, but not amazing either. The pad see ew was probably the worst we’ve ever had. It was crazy sweet with a weird texture and very underwhelming flavor. Why is it so sweet!? Kind of ruined the experience. Likely won’t come here again. There’s far better places.
We were in the area and wanted Thai food on a cold night. Came across this place. The reviews warned us that there’s always waiting here so be prepared to wait. We reached around 9ish in the night and it was still 6 parties waiting before us. We got in after waiting for 45 mins. It’s a casual dining place with stool seating which was not very comfortable but no big deal since the reviews were raving about the food. The food, Grilled chicken Satay - it was your usual with the peanut sauce I believe. Kai Kha Moo - more broccoli than the meat. Sweet chicken - good for kids I guess but not my cup of tea Kahi Moo Dang - it was just a blah dish. No flavors, nothing at all. Also the presentation of the food put me off. It looked disgusting The waitress was in a rush to clear the tables that I felt hurried. Overall the experience was nothing compared to the reviews. It’s a university town so I guess anything goes and no one really cares. Not my choice of restaurant if I want Thai food.

I was excited to try Imm Thai after a few friends recommended it, but I was disappointed. The papaya salad had undissolved sugar which took away from the usual fresh texture of the dish, and the cashew chicken was overly sweet. Both dishes felt heavy and left me sluggish afterward. Service was also underwhelming. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend it based on this experience.
chicken basil with white rice was the worst meal I've ever had.Unrecognizable bits of chopped chicken and the whole dish tasted like sucking on a licorice stick.\nAwful.\nWont be back
This is about online ordering. Get another one. I want able to complete the order because I was using my phone, and it's not designed for using on your phone. The cart would not stay stable on the screen when placed horizontal. When vertical, could not scroll left to see the cart. Got dinner at another establishment I passed on the way to the actual restaurant.
I ordered drunken noodles [pad see ew], & fried tofu appetizer. I am vegan & those are my two favorite things & pretty much the only thing I ever order at Thai restaurants. The drunken noodles are JUST okay. I've had way better. I did not receive fried tofu, I received fried pumpkin & I did not like it. It's sweet & not something I would ever order. Unfortunately I am only in town for work for one night, a short overnight, so I do not have time to walk back there from my hotel, I have to be up very early in the morning for a flight. This way a pretty expensive meal for not enjoying it. What a bummer.
