O que dizem os clientes de Tap Haus
Tap Haus is a popular spot known for its lively atmosphere, friendly bartenders (Belle, Elizabeth, Ronald, John, Cyrus), good music, and pool tables. The under the sea decor and scuba Steve fish tank shots are memorable. Some find the bathrooms dirty and beer selection limited.

Tip: Go after 9 PM when the downstairs bathroom opens and the atmosphere is more lively. If you don't like beer, ask Cyrus for a recommendation.

Definitely going back. The bar tender was funny and nice and she even bought me a shot! The place is huge and had an old school vibe to it. The men's bathroom was stank though.
I like that they charge pool by the hour and not by the game. Lots of different beer to choose from. Wide open space. An upstairs and downstairs. 10+ pool tables and friendly staff. They serve food and they have lots of food options nearby. Can't go wrong if you have been here before. Check them out.
I went to this place on a first date and it was a blast. The atmosphere is cool somewhat of a mixed crowd due to covid it wasn't so crowded but still a good time. The drinks for reasonably priced and they weren't watered down. Will be back the next time I'm in town.
A great selection of drinks - they have great IPAs. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. A great place for a drink and a game of pool. Would definitely recommend!!
After grabbing lunch with a buddy we made our way here to relax and play some pool and have a few beers. This place is tucked down below street level so you might miss it. But, once you make your way downstairs and through the doors this place opens up and is very lively. They have music playing and a TV with sports in usually. They have 6 pool tables that are in good condition and only cost $6 an hour to play on. They also have 2 large connect four games. Their selection of beer is pretty nice. They have German selection and a domestic selection. Plus they have some local beers too. We both tried the Buzzerkley, which is like a white Belgian beer. It was pretty damn good but strong. Two of them and I was feeling pretty happy. We played a few rounds of pool and enjoyed our beers. The bartenders were very nice and friendly and easy to talk to. This place is a solid hit. If your in the area and looking for a place to have a few beers and play some games then this spot is a must. I know that I will be back in the not to distant future.
Really nice beer hall. It's tucked away at the bottom of a concrete staircase. The atmosphere is great, as it's very roomy and spacious while still being cozy. There are pool tables and connect four boards in the back. The beer selection is really good, as they have a lot of great German imports on tap. It's also possible to get the massive beer boot. The only downside is that it can get crowded on weekends, and the wait times are often long.
Good beer selection: includes German import and styles, as well as domestic stuff. About 20 beers on tap (not exact). Food served here, but outside food allowed. No outside drinks. Located at bottom of easily visible stairs off of Durant across the street from the alley of Asian restaurants. Popular with a generally younger crowd on weekend nights. Pretty quiet on week nights. Variety of bar games: many pool tables in the back (charged by the hour), giant four in a row, giant Jenga, and shuffleboard. TVs at bar sometimes play subtitled movies. Bartenders are friendly and talkative when not too busy.
So, what we had as far as food was the bar sampler and a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon! As a collective, oh my God! Lots of bar food at a reasonable price. We also had some fantastic beers and delicious cocktails. The environment is very accommodating for family fun. If your family is into oversized jenga, oversized connect 4, and pool. The bartender Hailey was exceptional!!!! She remembered our drinks, as far as each individual, and was Engaged and gave us tips as to what to enjoy next.( As we were in the exploratory beer mode) The whole vibe of the place was very accommodating and Enjoyable for a family over 21. All 4 of us enjoyed every aspect of this establishment and highly recommend you stop by and say Hi to Hailey! She's the redhead with a great attitude.tell her greg sent you
Cool spot with a nice variety of taps (see name, haha). Wait time for a game of pool or the table games wasn’t long; music selection was on point. Bar tenders and staff were friendly and engaging which was cool.
Food surprisingly good. Taps excellent, plus a large selection of lager style beers, a huge plus in our age of overly-hopped IPAs being the only thing on many menus. Service was friendly although they seemed a little understaffed.
Tap Hause at UC Berkeley is always my spot for sure! Drinks are top-notch and won’t break the bank. The bartenders, whether students or not, are all about great service. Absolutely love the abundance of pool tables and the vibe is always spot on. Perfect spot for a chill night out. Highly recommend!
Ducked in out of the rain. Bartender Belle will keep ya seated with her pours and music! Best stop in Bezerkeley so far! Update: Stopped in again. Elizabeth sitting in. Again totally cool, sweetheart bartender! The prices here are great and the service exquisite. Oh, the real blowfish lights...
Nice bar, with snooker and nice atmosphere. Have a good choice of beer. Would highly recommend.
I celebrated my sweet 21st birthday here and and and per the Tap Haus tradition I took a shot straight from the scuba steve fish tank! It was surprisingly good?! Or like let me like tell you it was better than the mat shot. A mat shot is when they empty the mat they make the drinks on into a shot glass. Sometimes there's like lint and dust bunnies in there but whatev cause the alcohol kills the germs. I like when they let me have the aux cord and I play show me love by Robin S on repeat. 187
One of the nicest bars I have ever been to. Love it.
The under the sea decor is so cute. Check out their puffer fish taxidermy lights haha. So much character, friendly bartenders. Love the vibe n pool tables in the corner too. They have plenty on tap - ciders and a hard kombucha? Say less, fam.
Amazing place to take your friends on Tuesday night.

Tap Haus is great! Drinks are fairly priced, music is fire they even take song requests. Also, saw a group get kicked out for being wayyyy too drunk and ruining the vibe. Vibes are taken care of here which I really appreciate considering tge large crowds
Ronald and John keep Tap Haus on point. Always professional, but still laid-back and approachable. They create a safe vibe while keeping the energy fun. Definitely the kind of guys who make the night run smooth without ever forcing it. Solid crew, solid spot.
Food, drinks, experience, service top tear! Great staff and music and you cant leave this place without smiling.
I’m ngl this is genuinely top 3 bars I’ve visited in the states. I’ve never been a fan of beer but Cyrus somehow picked up on that and gave me a brand that changed my mind on beer forever. Hella nice guy, and this bro needs more recognition

Underground college bar with 6 pool tables, giant connect 4 and shuffleboard. Good selection of domestic and German beers. Gets busy as the night goes on, so if you're looking for a chill time, show up early.
overall solid college bar. upstairs more chill, downstairs much more ferda.
Enjoyed an evening here for birthday outing. It very rustic look, and cozy atmosphere. With pool and other bar games you will definitely have a good time. They offer a variety of beers, and the menu gets changed up fairly often. True to its name, it is a tap house, which unfortunately means no hard liquor. However, if you are looking to add a bar to your crawl, why not Tap Haus?
Now that they have their official liquor license, great place to chill. They have pool tables (weekend, 14$an hour, which can be pro-rated), they also have the giant size Connect Four. Super fun. Decent music mix and just an overall cool place to chill. Good mix of old and young folks. Nothing special, but I might include them in my writings home. 😂
So fun! I came here for my birthday - they even let me bring cake! The beers were good (unfortunately no hard liquor). We played lots of pool, was dead on a weekday and also had pretzels and fries - yum!
The college crowd is very much a thing here. All the bartenders were very nice. I really wish I could have got one the bartenders name. But when I asked what the name of a rotating beer was, he RAN down to see the name of it/took a picture of it for me. Good beer options, lots of pool tables. One thing is that the bathrooms were foul, super nasty floors and smelled horrific. But ultimately would visit if I was in town again.
Great place to play some pool with 6-8 tables(cant remember exactly) while watching your local sporting events. They have great German sausages, bar food, and the bartenders are friendly and accommodating. Their German beer selection is vast, with multiple beers you've never heard of. They also have many tables to socialize with large groups.
Good beer choices, especially from Germany, and lots of fun games. I wish when it were empty the music were a bit quieter. It's great atmosphere when it's busy, but when there are like 5 people inside it feels a bit weird. Also it can be a bit pricey, and the bar food is just ok.
Vibe is strange but our bartender was great. Creepy drunk guy next to us was coming on to us (two girls) and getting in our personal space. Bartender kept asking if we were ok. Really happy with the experience here.
First time here last night celebrating a friend’s birthday party. We arrived around 9:00ish and to my surprise it wasn’t nearly as crowded as I assumed it would’ve considering how crowded it was outside the bar, but in the later hours the place was packed. The service and choice of beers were nice. The prices were decent as well.
One would think for a Tap Haus it would have more beers on tap. That being said what they did have is a pretty decent selection. Staff was friendly, food was delicious but menu was small (no complaints there just a fyi) and had a great atmosphere. Worth a stop for sure and in a good part of town within walking distance of a lot of other places.

Nice place with a pool hall After 9:00 it's a fun place Don't go before 9:00 unless you want to use the grotesque building restroom that has not been cleaned up🤢 Their place is clean and the clean bathroom only opens up downstairs at 9:00 p.m.! Beer is about $6.
It’s a decent bar, just nothing too special though.
The bathroom is tooooooooo dirty! The drinks are bad. The bartender doesn’t really know how to make a simple aperol spritz. She made a pineapple vodka for me, and it tasted not good either. I highly recommend you just order beers when you come here, and don’t use their bathroom.

Pool tables are fun however they are really lax on disinfecting the pool tables and equipment after each use. They also do no follow mask ordinances. We came in 5 days ago and wondered why they weren’t making people put masks on to enter. 2 out of our party of 3 tested positive for covid 3 days later.
Downstairs bar had very slow service and nasty cocktails. My fiancée's drink tasted like pure lemon juice? I recommend just getting what's on tap or ordering all your shots at once, like the guy to our right did. We watched him wait 20 minutes to get his 30 shots while my sister waited 25 minutes to get a coke and sprite she ended up never receiving. Otherwise, the place achieves a specific aesthetic with all the wood, low lighting, and good music.
I love this place but it’s disappointing how rude the bald bartender was, and uncomfortable to see him brushing their teeth in the back while I was trying to enjoy a drink after work. Almost made it seem unclean in my opinion.

Over priced drinks, dirty washrooms and filthy game rooms. I have tried to go there a few times but never got the chance to spend more than 10 mins there. I wish they could probably open a dance club, there is a dire need of one in Berkeley.
When this bar first opened I loved it. But then one day when I walked into the "Men's" restrooms their bouncer went in, grabbed me (he bruised my arm, I have pictures), and carried me out of the bar. This was completely inappropriate for so many reasons and I have not been back since. I would NEVER recommend anyone go there after that experience. *This was not the same bouncer that bruised the person in the other comment, this was another one
Tried to mek us leave our table because the band needed a place to sit very rude
There is a $10 minimum on drink orders if you're paying with debit or credit. The bartender failed to mentioned that there was a minimum. There should be more signs posted about the minimum on top of the counters and walls. The bartender would automatically closed out my tab without asking me. I'd asked for a beer and he'll come back with a beer and a receipt. 3 beers ended up costing $30 instead of $21. The friends I went with had it happen to them too that night. The multiple pool tables and the crowd are okay.
the tall white security guard had no right to put his hands on my friend and physically drag him outside when we were already leaving he physically put his hands on my friend don’t go here unless you want to be assaulted by the staff we didn’t yell at anyone nor bother anyone we kept telling him we were leaving
It was really slow, but even still, we waited 15 minutes to catch one of the three bartenders' attention to no avail. All we wanted was two tap beers. Funny enough, our pizza from next door was ready before we were able to even order a drink, so we left empty handed to get our pizza and drinks somewhere else.
Got tip scammed lots of times. When i write « ZERO » on the paper for the tip, it doesn’t mean anything else than 0 !!!
My husband and I have been to this bar plenty of times and had great experiences, but this last time was absolutely ridiculous. My cousin just moved in with us from Texas due to the political climate and them being scared of what will happen to them due to them being trans. I took them out for Halloween to Berkeley knowing people their age would be there. They turned them away at the door and said their ID was fake. They couldn’t give us a reason (yes my husband and sister went back and asked why). We assume it was because their ID was from Texas. All the bouncer said was “because it’s fake”. Absolutely ridiculous and atrocious. I worked in security for years and I know how to read an out of state ID. Texas ID’s don’t have a stamp like CA does and that’s what he was looking for. Not only that, they were only taking women’s ID’s out of their hands and turning them away. I was watching them shine a flashlight on the men’s ID’s, not touch them, and let them in. Get better bouncers who know what they’re doing. Halloween ended up being great as we went to Oakland (where I live and normally go) to a different bar. Thanks for nothing and do better.
I went to Tap Haus today and I had the worst experience of my life. I think that I was discriminated towards because of my race and the short bouncer with short hair touched me inappropriately while he tried to take my ID. My ID is real and is Canadian. According to state laws and regulations, my Canadian ID is considered valid tender for identification in California. I felt so degraded and violated after this experience and I might not come back ever again. They denied every single international student and this is discrimination against international students.
