Whiskey Dave’s was a really fun place to hang out in Big Bear! Drinks were good, and atmosphere was great. They even had the UFC match on, which was a great surprise. However, they do not take cards on the weekends, which in my opinion, is a little ridiculous. Their ATM also charges a $5 fee every time you take any money out… that soured me for this place unfortunately.

Best bar but very high prices especially for what they are serving. Our friends wanted to take us as we had never been and they wanted us to take the duck fart shot off the ski. It was fun but I had to tell the bartender how to make the shot which is a little wierd bc I was told it's their specialty shot? The fire pit outback was very very nice but the vibe was not great and the security is questionable. We heard one of them telling someone he loved to fight, security should always try to calm down any issues not work people up more. We did get a receipt and it's pretty shocking they would charge $13 per shot for a shot made with Jameson, baileys and Kaluah.

Price gouging completely ruining mood. Ordered a basket and fries for the table at $8 and received a paper tray with 11 little wedges and condiments in packets. Drinks are cash only with a $5 ATM charge and food is charged separately. Atmosphere is great but I’m not having fun

Unfortunately the bartender kept spilling half my shot on the mat. I had 4 drinks an felt nothing. Waste of money for expensive drinks. The chubby bartender wouldn’t help us at all. None of the bartenders would greet you. Really horrible service at this place. Only good thing was security and the patio. I definitely will never come back here.

That tells you everything you need to know. At these prices, you expect properly made cocktails, not something that tastes like it came out of a fountain machine. The DJ needs to read the room better — play what people actually want to hear and you'd get more folks on the dance floor and more customers coming back. Oh, and the foosball table? Missing balls but they still charge full price to play. Fix your equipment or don't charge for it. The pool table was a lot of fun though — worked quick and smooth, no issues there. Maybe the owners should read these reviews! Service and atmosphere I would give a minus! Pretty much have to serve yourself. So no tip for you! Maybe they should read their sign! The door to the restroom room is filthy!!! The burger was pretty good at least. I will not go back unless things change. Good luck!

Brought the team here following a day of snowboarding. I must express my disappointment with the experience. The atmosphere was far from welcoming, and the prices were exorbitant, especially considering the subpar quality. Cash-only bar - what does that tell you? The so-called “customer service” was lacking, and the owner’s behaviour in his own establishment was quite concerning. It’s truly perplexing how someone who owns a bar could struggle to manage their alcohol intake or the welfare of patrons. I understand showing locals/regulars appreciation, but from my experience, the employees seem to over-serve patrons who appear to have had enough. I know at a bar it’s normal to see belligerence, but this was unreal… My colleague (who used to be a patron here) mentioned she stays away from this place after the college kid that fell in Big Bear Lake last year left the bar visibly overly intoxicated… This establishment is not on our list for future company outings.

BEWARE: This venue is not safe late at night. Either the alcohol being served is compromised, or there are dangerous individuals inside that security fails to monitor. After only two drinks, my partner began exhibiting alarming symptoms consistent with drugging or poisoning. When I rushed to get her water, hoping to stabilize her, the bartender demanded $1.25 for a cup of tap water. Anyone in the service industry knows charging for tap water—especially in a medical distress situation—is indefensible. I strongly urge others to avoid this place after dark. Luckily I was able to take my significant other to the hospital after this, so I strongly urge WOMEN in particular should not come without someone they trust to protect them, because the staff and security clearly will not.

Absolutely worst bar... A customer hit my 21 year old son in the face and security jumped straight to pepper spraying my son and the guy who hit him.. leading my son too the ER with eye and breathing complications.. from what I understand from the locals security does this for any little reason! DO NOT GO TO THIS TRASH FACILITY.

Way too expensive! Big Bear is never expensive. But I felt this one was too expensive. Maybe 3 times expensive than places like vegas. If someone takes couple of shots will have to leave their pocket dry. That too they only accept cash.

I'm sorry to the chef, but this was quite literally the worst food I've ever had, even by bar food standards. The second bartender who took my order wasn't very friendly either, and the customers next to us were very hateful and bigoted. My partner and I felt unsafe here.

AVOID AT ALL COST. Came here every weekend, bought drinks for the performers, and paid cover all the time and suddenly they racially profiled me for someone whos skipped out on paying cover. I wasnt even there that time.

My friends and I decided to give this place a shot, and let’s just say it was an experience we won’t soon be repeating. First off, the ambiance was more “dungeon chic” than “cozy pub.” The lighting was so dim I thought I’d walked into a black hole. I nearly tripped over a chair that seemed to have been designed by a sadistic carpenter. The drink menu promised a variety of creative cocktails, but what we received was a sad imitation of the descriptions. My “Mango Tango” tasted more like a desperate attempt at fruit-flavored soda mixed with regret. And don’t even get me started on the bartender’s mixology skills—if shaking a cocktail is an art, he was using finger paints. As for the service, it was like a game of hide and seek, except we were the ones hiding from the server. After waiting an eternity for our drinks, we finally flagged someone down, only to be met with a blank stare that could rival a goldfish. The highlight of the night was the live music, which sounded like a cat being stepped on while trying to hit the high notes. This place is a complete joke. I hope the owner reads this review. It was Saturday night, we went around 8:30 PM and ordered two draft beers and a simple cocktail. The server - a big, chubby guy with a strange beard - charged us $40 without even entering the order into the computer (probably hiding it from the owner). This same server overcharged us the night before as well. I know because he charged us $24 for two drinks, while just 15 minutes earlier, another server charged us $20 for the exact same round. On weekends, they only accept cash payments, with no receipts and no drink menus provided, so they can essentially charge whatever they want. To top it off, the food was terrible - way too salty. We will definitely never go back. There are much better bars in Big Bear, like Murray's Saloon & Eatery.
