One of the greatest restaurants in terms of food and service. Every single plate we ordered is a 5 stars food. Highly recommend.
We dined at this place on a Saturday night right after we arrived at Big Bear Lake. We were told the wait time was at least two hours but we still chose to wait. It was cold outside and we had to stay at a bar across the street to wait for our table to be ready. About one hour later I tried my luck and they took me in. The food was amazing and it was worth the wait. Most American restaurants, I have to say, don’t know how to cook burgers. They are normally very hard and tasteless. Not this one. I selected their signature burger with blue cheese and every bite was delicious. The only downside is the hostesses at the entrance who are telling everyone they are fully booked for the night but actually there were empty tables around. Probably server shortage?
I came from LA to experience winter, and unexpectedly, I had one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten here! The flatbread was just as memorable, and the service and atmosphere were fantastic. Strongly recommend!
Absolutely delicious! I had the lobster flatbread, buffalo chicken tater tots, and fried calamari. The service was friendly and attentive too. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Big Bear!
Food is really good, needs a little salt in my opinion like the mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese but there's some on the table Service is okay but then again they are really busy Food was served pretty quick though so that's a plus It's right in the village so it's a nice view Steak is flavored perfectly! A simply lovely restaurant right in the middle of the village. Great food, more than adequate wine, beer & cocktail list. First class service. Beautiful interior. They also have an upstairs bar with open seating. Though very busy on the Sat afternoon we were there, they moved through the wait-list faster than expected. Pro Tip: go after 3pm when the lunch crowd thins out. Dogs are welcome on the patio. They have both patio heaters & gas fire pits.
We recently visited Oakdale restaurant in Big Bear, and it was absolutely amazing! From the very first minute, you feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere — a stylish interior, pleasant music, and a true sense that the staff genuinely care about every guest. The food deserves special praise. Every dish was delicious and exquisite: fresh ingredients, perfect flavor combinations, and beautiful presentation. Each plate felt like a small culinary masterpiece. You can really tell the kitchen operates at the highest level. The service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly attentive, polite, and friendly, always ready to help and make recommendations. They truly made our evening comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, everything was simply wonderful — the atmosphere, the cuisine, and the service all came together for a perfect dining experience. Oakdale is a place you’ll want to come back to again and again, and one we can confidently recommend to anyone visiting Big Bear. Definitely a five-star experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a great little spot to get a food and some really good drinks. They got a great selection of liquor and custom drinks. Great menu. All the food was great, we had we sat upstairs in the bar with a great view. The bartender was great and we had a really good time, really worth the stop.
Oakside is a fantastic dining spot in Big Bear Lake Village, and Ray and I absolutely loved our experience. We sat upstairs on the second floor, which offers a quieter, more adult-friendly atmosphere. It was calm, relaxed, and perfect for enjoying a nice dinner without the noise of large groups or kids. Ray had the Ahi Tuna Steak, which was phenomenal, along with Brussels sprouts and corn — all incredibly tasty and well prepared. I ordered the Black & Blue Burger with sweet potato fries, and it was amazing. The portion was huge — I could only eat half — and everything was cooked perfectly. We sat in the bar area, and our server Kayla was excellent. She was also bartending and made Ray a great dirty martini. I tried a double IPA, which was new to me and very good. Kayla was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we enjoyed everything — exactly the kind of service that makes people want to return. Oakside is easy to overlook when you first arrive in the village, but now that we’ve found it, it will definitely be our staple spot every time we’re in Big Bear. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five stars all the way — highly recommend.
We've enjoyed each opportunity to dine at this lovely restaurant in Big Bear Village. Food is always very good, service professional and we love the decor. As a major tourist destination, getting on the waiting list is a must as they don't take reservations.
We stopped here during a trip to Big Bear, and we were glad we did! We were a party of five and were prepared to have to wait for a table. The hostess let us know that the bar area was open seating but with a full menu. We found a table in no time! The service was good and the food was yummy. There is definitely something for everyone on the menu. Give Oakside a try!
Love this place so much we went back 2X in one trip! Amazing cocktails, salad (get the one with blueberries) and the steak tacos were the star of the show!
Came back for our second visit. We were not disappointed. Kayla was our server, she's terrific attentive and fun. Our first visit our server was Jon (I think) a terrific server as well. This time we had chocolate cake and a birthday brownie. So rich and delicious. Nice cozy atmosphere. Pleasant attentive service. Great drinks. Perfectly prepared steaks. And a slice of red velvet cake. We'll be back!

Needed to eat after hiking. It was around 230p and it was busy but the wait wasn't that long. Got the butcher pizza, loaded tater tots and truffle fries. The server Michael was pleasant. The food came out maybe 20 mins after we ordered. I find everything salty though. Its near the holiday inn so its convenient for us and everywhere was crowded. Not a bad option
If you are looking for a restaurant with great food, booze and views then Oakside is the spot. Oakside is 2 stories with a balcony that overlooks The Village. Great place to have unwind and have a beer. There were a good handful of Vegan/Vegetarian options on the menu which was a big win for me. Peyton was an amazing host. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Plenty of public parking around back. Oakside is smack dab in The Village, so there are plenty of other things to do afterwards.

My wife selected this restaurant. So we went up to the second floor where Jennifer greeted us with such grace. We felt comfortable and were treated exceptionally. The food was the iceing on the cake. Highly recommend. Edgar brought our food and ask if we needed anything else with such care.
One of the best salmon I've ever had! Very surprised but very happy I gave it a shot. The vegetables were perfectly seasonsed and cooked as well. We went as a group over July 4th weekend and we were able to get seating outside pretty quickly.
Really nice location. We ate outside and it was great. The food is elevated. My prickly pear margarita was on point. Draft beers were cold. Fish and chips was light and crispy. Mac and cheese is adult Mac and cheese. Kids expected Kraft. The adults gladly ate it for them. The bar upstairs is filled with TVs and little nooks you can hide out in with a date. A decent restaurant in downtown big bear.. service was great and both servers were very kind and hospitable. Burger was pretty solid but i love burgers regardless.. their lobster pizza was not worth the price. Less of a lobster taste but more cheesy taste. My filet mignon was overcooked and cold but the other four people in my party had amazing food. Lobster tail. Two other filet mignons and a burger. Make sure you get there early or make reservations in advance or you'll be sitting outside in the cold.
So glad we got to try this location. When we drove by it smelled great so we went back. They don't take reservations so you'll need to put your name on the list. He kinda forgot about us which he even said but luckily we weren't in a rush!

We had a rehearsal dinner for my son and daughter in law. The third floor room was beautiful if very noisy because of the bar immediately below. Our waitress was outstanding.
