I go here every time I pass it, great burger, great service, great house made chips. Perfect outdoor seating and great value for the area.
Awesome place for a dinner with a friend. Absolutely gorgeous view. Food was good. Very welcoming and friendly place to eat. We got sandwich and soup with salad. Lovely place and we loved being here. It also has beautiful outdoor sitting and small market to buy coffee, candy, tea or wine. A wonderful little getaway!
This spot is situated at the edge of Groveland as you head up Highway 120. We stopped here for breakfast on our way back from Yosemite, and it’s one of the few dining options after leaving the park. The restaurant seems to be a favorite among locals, and during our visit, we noticed many patrons enjoying breakfast while the waitstaff engaged them in conversation. The food was well-prepared, though slightly greasy. Service was friendly and prompt, and the house coffee was quite good. The outdoor patio offers lovely views of Highway 120 and the surrounding hills, making it a great place to soak up some sun. I highly recommend stopping by on your next trip to Yosemite.
A place where mostly the locals go. The food is of a simple home-made kind, which is exactly what we needed after a long day of travelling. The prices are a bit higher than I expected them to be. The location is very beautiful. There are cozy murals and in warmer weather I would recommend sitting on the outdoor terrace to enjoy the view. The entrees are very plain (not a bad thing depending on what you want) but the burgers seem to be their specialty and the most flavorful part of the menu.
A perfect place to pause before taking on Old Priest Grade. Priest Station Café is welcoming, relaxed, and a great spot to grab a cool drink and catch your breath before (or after!) the steep drive. The view is beautiful, the atmosphere is friendly, and it’s one of those classic Sierra stops that just feels right. A little gem on the way up the mountain.
Went for a late lunch on the way to Yosemite and were completely blown away by the menu choices, kind and wonderful service and atmosphere outside and delicious food! Four of us each got something different and we were all delighted! Outside tables in both sun or shade. Truly gracious and lovely staff. My daughter has been several times before and she was excited to share the adventure! Highly recommend and look forward to going back to this wonderful spot that has been owned by the same family for 5 generations!
I was in the area staying at a Hipcamp to unwind after a few days in Yosemite. We stopped here on a whim and ended up enjoying it so much that we ate here twice during our two-day stay. First off, the service was incredible both times. The staff were so friendly, attentive, and really seemed to anticipate what we needed. We kept commenting on how great the service was. It stood out both visits. The views are beautiful, especially if you sit out on the patio overlooking the hills across the street. The patio is shaded with a canopy, which made it the perfect spot to relax and escape the sun for a bit. We had dinner here first, right after a long day of hiking in Yosemite, and we were starving. I didn't even get a chance to take pictures because we dove right in. I ordered the Veggie Galore Burger and my boyfriend got The Classic Cheeseburger. Both were amazing. The patties were cooked perfectly and had so much flavor. We also tried their fresh-squeezed lemonade, which was divine with just the right amount of sweetness and super refreshing. When we came back for breakfast, I had the Veggie Skillet and my boyfriend got the 2+2+2. The skillet was one of the best I've ever had. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and high quality. The biscuit was a bit on the dry side, but still tasty overall. My boyfriend really enjoyed his breakfast, too. We'll definitely be back the next time we're heading to or from Yosemite. It's such a great little spot with great food, great views, and even better service.
What a pleasant surprise! My husband and I were on a roadtrip and stumbled across this cute spot. We were pleasantly surprised with how tasty everything was and the friendliness of the staff and owner Steve. With a beautiful view of the rolling hills and birds chirping we could have asked for a better atmosphere. We ordered the brisket sandwich, Priest Burger, and deviled eggs. Everything was delicious and seasoned thoughtfully. The potato chips and onion rings are super fresh! I would totally recommend this as a great lunch stop.
I recently visited the Priest Station Cafe ☕ and wanted to share my experience. The cafe's ambiance was incredibly inviting, providing a perfect setting for a relaxing afternoon 😌. I found the coffee ☕ to be rich and flavorful, definitely worth savoring with each sip. The pastries 🥐 were equally delightful, complementing the coffee perfectly and satisfying my sweet tooth. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable 😊. Overall, I highly recommend Priest Station Cafe for anyone looking for a great cafe experience close to Yosemite National Park! #CafeReview #CoffeeLover #Pastries #GoodVibes #Foodie
On our way out of Yosemite National Park we came by for the second time, and since the time was fitting and they had enough space for our RV, we stopped in for a late breakfast. Oh boy it was delicious. the service was fast and friendly, and the coffee, wow, the best we had in the past weeks. Thank you so much for this memorable end of our Yosemite visit. This establishment is, according to their menu, family owned in the 6th generation. We wish them to keep it successful in the family for the future. I feel they are on a good way to achieve this. Btw. we really liked the paintings on the walls and it was clean. Full recommendation from me.
Talk about service with a smile! This spot is a true gem! The staff was friendly and kind. The food was amazing. The portions were great. Everything tasted homemade. I had the biscuits and gravy, which were delicious. My husband had the country scramble which was amazing. I believe my mom had the two egg breakfast while my dad enjoyed one of the omelets. My dad would have liked the hash browns to be a little crispier, but we were all impressed with the Cafe overall. I enjoyed reading about the history of the establishment and looking at the beautiful murals. We would absolutely come back next time we're in the area.
A Must stop if you’re heading into Yosemite(45 minutes away). The food iin ANY National Park has a lot of lacking in quantity, quantity, and pricing. Eat before entering Yosemite. Priest Station Cafe is a friendly welcoming restaurant with quality food with Large portions! The bfst was awesome. Had the brisket sandwich on my exit from Yosemite. Both were more than I could finish. There’s restrooms available that make it a helpful stop.
Awesome American comfort food. Great place to stop by on the way to Yosemite. Sandwiches and burgers looked great. We really liked the burger with grilled mushrooms and the brisket sandwich. Fries and onion rings were well sized and crispy. Friendly service and cool outdoor patio that overlooks some mountains.

Amazing menu for so small a place. Indoor a/c, but even at 102 degrees the deck was pleasant between the awning and lovely breeze. Small but nice selection of beer and wine.
Beautiful view!!! Burgers and sweet potatoes fries were very tasty. The service we'd great. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I was told the burgers are cooked medium. I was so happy and even reiterated that's what I wanted even though the server said they could cook it any way I wanted. The burger came well done. It bothers me when burgers places can't make a burger to order.
Cute and quaint, Priest Station Cafe is a welcome site after a drive from the Bay. We both had burgers, their specialty. The neighboring table ordered the salad and I was envious. Enough salad to easily be shared, looked fresh and delicious. Generous mug of coffee with refills. Friendly staff.
Big spacious and Super cute place as you are leaving Yosemite or going to Yosemite. Outdoor seating with Mountain View’s :) Good variety of food to choose from. Food was yummy and service was outstanding My blue cheese burger need it a lot of help :( but the cowboy burger was excellent and the salmon sandwich was also delicious. Prices are normal I would say burgers are around $15
Updated review(Feb 2024): I was pleased to have brunch here once again after many years. This time my wife who is a vegetarian was also there with me. She loved the vegetarian sandwich with sprouts. It looked great and tasted good as well. Whereas I took the grill salmon sandwich. The salmon was really nicely cooked and still juicy and it tasted excellent. I took a bowl of soup as the side. The soup of the day was a vegetable soup which tasted close to a minestrone soup without the pasta. Not a fan of the soup but it was good in that cold weather. The staff was very helpful too and pleasant. And it's needless to say that if you sit outside you are going to get a nice view of the mountains as well while having your food. Just get a cap because it might get hot if it's sunny. Restroom was clean as well. Old review below (5 years ago): The restaurant is right on 120 and it's on the way to Yosemite National Park. You won't even waste any time for deviation. Also, the taste and choice of the breakfast was way better than what we get inside the Park. Cheaper too. The server was great. I had ordered for an omelet stuffed with veggies and sausage. It tasted good. It was served with a bowl of fresh fruit, bread and butter. Excellent combination. They don't serve freshly squeezed juice except lemonade. The chocolate milk shake was OK. Was not too pleased with it. Had a good choice of Tea bags. I was pleased with it. Restroom needs a key to enter and was relatively clean.

Nice location and view. Inside and outside seating. Service is very slow. Staff is nice but takes a long time for food to come after ordering. Took 45 min last time for food to arrive after ordering. This means it’s about an hour after you arrive before you even get your food. This time I just left 45 minutes after I ordered because it still seemed it would be quite a bit longer.
Food was not bad, same with the scenery. But coming in as a group of 4, we waited over an hour for our burgers and to top it off, got charged with 3 sodas we did not order. If you have a busy day ahead I wouldn't recommend this place. If you have time to spare and don't mind the wait time, do it for the experience right? My friends and I experienced it and we will pass on this place next time.
Located just outside Yosemite National Park, Priest Station Cafe is a convenient stop for hungry visitors. While the view from the outdoor patio isn't exactly breathtaking (it overlooks some hills and the highway), it offers both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a plus. The place was buzzing (no pun intended) when we visited – the outdoor patio was packed! This historic restaurant, named after a Yosemite pioneer, seems like a popular choice. My friend and I opted for breakfast skillets – my friend had the veggie skillet with sauteed spinach, bell peppers, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese, and I had the country skillet with sausage, bacon, and country gravy. Both skillets came with a side of salsa, sour cream, and a biscuit. The portions were generous, and the country skillet, in particular, was a decent, hearty breakfast. However, the highlight wasn't exactly the food. The biscuit was unfortunately very dry, and the potatoes in both skillets were a bit undercooked and starchy. The biggest issue, though, were the bees. The outdoor patio is apparently quite bee-friendly, and they were relentless in their pursuit of our food. It made enjoying a peaceful meal a challenge. On the bright side, the service was fast and friendly. Our server was attentive and helpful. Just be aware that the restroom is located in a separate building and requires a code to get in, which you need to request from the staff. Overall, Priest Station Cafe is a 3-star experience. The food is decent, the portions are good, and the service is friendly. However, the dry biscuit, undercooked potatoes, and persistent bees definitely take away from the experience.
Only stopped for coffee and a piece of pie. My wife thought she would have tea instead of coffee and was asked if she wanted hot or cold. She said hot and the question was repeated and answered again…
