I used to live right next to this P. Terry's and definitely took it for granted. Where I am now there are two other locations closer to me and they just do not compare. This one is so fast, efficient, and they ALWAYS got my order right. I'm realizing since I stopped visiting this one that not all locations are created equal on those three fronts. The staff here is also so friendly and always puts a smile on my face. I wish every P. Terrys was up to this ones standard 🥲 (even though I will definitely not stop patronizing the other ones just for not being as reliable, it just makes me miss this one).
I'm always amazed by the good value and reasonable prices on their menu. The food is always hot fresh and delicious. The banana bread is delightful. I don't even get a burger anywhere else.
I love P. Terry's! I usually go to the location near South congress and Ben White at least multiple times a week. The food is always super fresh and affordable I eat both breakfast and lunch. Silvia is the one that usually takes my breakfast orders every morning, she is always so kind to me and she makes my day a million times better, she deserves recognition for that! I appreciate the freshness the affordability and the convenience and I will always be a supportive customer!
Coming out of a night at the hospital with my mother, I ran over to PTerrys @ Congress & Ben White. The food was just what I needed, but the team there was even better! Professional, friendly, kind & helpful! I really appreciated those folks after a long & difficult afternoon/evening/night. Thanks for good food & good people!
P. Terry's has way better burgers than In & Out! They use 100% black angus beef with no hormones or antibiotics. And all their other food is also sourced so well you can really tell by how good it tastes and how well you feel digesting it afterwards. The feel is like an old-school retro-futuristic burger stand, and they always keep their establishments cleaned well. Also, all of the employees are always kind, so you know they are being paid right & treated well. I seriously still eat at P. Terry's at least once a week, after all these years!
These burgers are hands down so good! Get yourself the double cheeseburger all the way. It comes with shoestring fries and a drink. Honestly just the burger alone is enough. You can definitely share the fries. It’s a pretty large order. The quality of the food for that price is amazing.
Stopped by P. Terry’s Burger Stand for a late lunch and absolutely loved it — their Double Cheeseburger (two all-natural beef patties, lettuce, tomato, special sauce) was juicy and satisfying, and the hand-cut fries were crispy without being greasy. Their Banana Bread and oatmeal chocolate chip cookie made for a sweet ending. The vibe is casual and charming—retro burger-stand meets cozy local favorite. The staff were super friendly and efficient, and everything felt fresh and thoughtful. If you’re craving a good, no-fuss burger done right in Austin, this spot is a winner.
P Terry's is an Austin staple. Excellent burgers and fries made with high quality ingredients. They'll wrap your burger in lettuce if you're gluten free or carb conscious. They make the best fries I've ever had anywhere.
After stubbling on P. Terry's reviews, I had to try this burger joint The burger didn't disappoint, very well favored. The veggie had a softer texture, but favorful. The cookie was devine and a must try. Reasonably priced menu. The W Ben White location provided fast and great service with a smile.
This is the original OG Burger stand in Austin, Texas that continues to be Texas owned and operated and has one of the best vegetarian burgers in Austin. They are 24/7 in most locations and what a great fries that they have. I always love going here and trying out the menu and their new shake of the month
P. Terry’s has been and continues to be a staple in my life for over 10 years now. It is a place where my family and friends gather, what I crave during a late night, and what I recommend to anyone new to Austin. I love the veggie burger and the breakfast menu. The food is always hot, fresh, consistent, and affordable. The lemonade and orange juice are thirst quenching. I love that they always give me a dog treat for my pups. Seriously love you guys🥹
I took my sister here for her first visit EVER to P. Terry's & they didn't disappoint!! Their burgers are always fresh, hot, & juicy. You can just taste the pepper in the patties. Their prices are some of the most fair around, especially for the excellent quality!! The fries are skin-on & perfectly salted.
I have always been intrigued by this burger stand -great branding and architecture, but I had no idea what made them so special. Finally, I had time to check it out and I am so glad that I did. Super fast, friendly, efficient staff, and great food. The chicken burger was made with ground chicken that I wasn't too sure about, but I decided to give it a try and was glad that I did. It could have been very dry, but instead it was moist and full of flavor. The fries were perfection, and I was impressed that when I ordered an ice tea, it came with a lemon without asking. They have late night hours. My new favorite Austin drive thru!
Stopped by for a quick dinner while visiting Austin on a Saturday. It was Spring Break week and also South by Southwest, so everywhere in Austin was extremely crowded. Arrived and there were about 10 cars ahead and I thought about leaving, but line seemed to be moving at a decent pace. After about 10-15 minutes, I was able to place my order. Person taking the order was very patient and friendly, especially as I had 4 orders. I enjoyed the simplicity of the small menu of burgers and chicken sandwiches. Burgers are 100% angus beef and chicken sandwiches are 100% ground chicken breast. After about another 5 minutes, I was at the window to pay and pick up my food. Window service was friendly and quick as I paid and left within a few minutes. For my order, ordered the Double Cheeseburger, French Fries, and, a Strawberry milkshake. Both the burger and fries tasted homemade. Line may look long, but moves quickly. Food was worth the short wait.
Good burger and great fries!! My hubby and I are from Pennsylvania and we are traveling through Texas on vacation, and we love to try new restaurants that we don't have at home. We split a burger and fries. The burger was good, juicy, and large. The fries are hand cut and probably double fried - exactly the way they should be - delicious!!
Used to come here all the time. Have since updated my 5 star experience to reflect the service I’ve received multiple visits in 2025. Never leave this place with a warm feeling, instead, usually annoyed or worse. My previous visit I tried to redeem manager coupons for a free meal. I received those coupons to replace 3 orders in the previous visits- and they did not accept the coupon. Then I just got an apology for the coupon not being useable and that the employees would be couched. That didn’t make my issues right and wasted my time in the drive through redeeming bogus coupons. I will not be back
The guy taking orders October 5 afternoon is rude completely messes up every order. He doesn’t ask if you want anything with the burgers so they just come with meat and cheese. You say large he’ll give you a regular charge you for a large. Worst experience and employee I’ve had so far, You guys do such a great job. It’s sad a new hire is ruining it for you. Luckily, there are locations everywhere so I’ll avoid this employee. I won’t be the last problem
I am sorry, I love this company but have given this feedback so many times I am bringing it online. For the LOVE OF GOD, please just put the dang sauce inside a lettuce wrap! Every time I get it, I beg and pleaded for them to put the sauce inside the lettuce wrap so that I can just eat like a normal person who doesn’t have a gluten intolerance. At least the last five times, even though I was assured the sauce would be inside the lettuce wrap it continues to be on the side, and when I ask about it, I am told it’s because if they put it inside the lettuce wrap, it is too messy for a client. Well, I ask you, if you were a client who really wanted sauce on their burger, but couldn’t have bread what is messier? A fully wrapped burger in lettuce that already has the sauce inside of it? Or unwrapping the sloppy lettuce, adding the sauce and trying to re-wrap it yourself? And half the time I don’t get the sauce, like tonight! Tonight I drove home the point in the drive-through and said, “would you mind repeating in front of my husband that you will not put the sauce on the side and will instead put INSIDE the lettuce wrap like you would a burger, because I do not want to order this if you will not put it inside the lettuce wrap?” To which we were promised, twice! Nope, even the receipt says on the side, which I assume is automatic. At least they got the Diet Coke right on the receipt (even though we were served a Dr Pepper). Please change this at the corporate level! Those of us with gluten intolerance spread the word when we can find an alternative like you advertise here, but it sucks when we can’t get the same ingredients others get when they can have bread. Please, I promise I am trying and failing to support this local business!
Locations I visited give mediocre service. Items always missing in orders, how hard is it to take an order and read a ticket. I have visited 6 locations out of 38 and they are the same, the fries here are terrible. I’m headed to In-N-Out next time I want a burger. All the chicken patties, bacon, sausage, veggie patties are pre cooked. They advertise they don’t have freezers, now you know why, and how the food comes out quickly. Cheap prices go along with cheap quality.
So a lot of the other P Terry's when they only have one lane open they don't just put out a sign that is on the opposite side of the driver they also put cones in the drive so you don't go into the second lane so I had said that y'all need to put a cone back there in the beginning so that people don't go into the first Lane and she was very rude and her response it was not necessary. She said oh well there is a sign. And I said well obviously I didn't see it and she's like well I don't know what to tell you there was no empathy there was no nothing there was no I'm sorry we can definitely look into something to make sure that this doesn't happen again none of that none of that people like that shouldn't be working the drive-thru like put her on the grill. So when I was driving away I noticed the sign again it's on the passenger side not the driver side and I clearly didn't see it or I wouldn't have said anything so obviously some improvement is needed. But I know that P Terry's gives better service than that and so some coaching needs to happen because I have to be very honest I almost snapped back and I'm old school
Look like mold at the bottom of my cup. I purchased a large root beer today and when I got done with my drink I noticed what looked like a ring of mold. I am 8 months pregnant and find that very disturbing. The fact that what I eat or drink passes to my baby. I tried to call to speak to a manager to let them be aware and to check the other cups but nobody answered. It’s hard trying to reach anyone.
I had a horrific customer experience at this P. Terry’s location. I ordered two veggie burgers, one lettuce wrap and the other regular. When my partner bit into her lettuce wrap veggie burger, it ended up being a beef patty. We are vegetarian, so this was especially irritating. I went to return the burger for a veggie burger and upon arrival at the window the employee told me they could remake the burger (I had the receipt and original burger), then the drive through-boy tried to get me to leave. I told him the window-help had told me it was covered, no biggie. Soon following, they forced the window employee to pay out of pocket in order for us to receive our correct order. SHAME on P. Terrys! Forcing an employee to pay for a burger that the cooks made a mistake on.
I have an issue with the practice of keeping my credit card out of my site and closing the window, and/or walking away with it and keeping it out of my site for several minutes. This really pisses me off. (Get a mobile point of sale system like Chic Fil A and other fast food business) It should be charged, while in sight the entire time and immediately given back, not hidden from view for several minutes, and especially not in the employees hand while they walk around the restaurant giving them ample time to capture personal info to charge for personal use later. Do better.
Burgers I get from here are sloppy and just mashed together maybe the style so I’m not upset about that but I am mad that when I ordered the combo with my burger I got fries ,that are like potato chips ,and hard as rocks , a 7up because they don’t have sprite but when I went to take a sip it tasted like sparkling water or maybe they forgo to add the syrup. They up charged me to ruin my meal. I regret spending my money here don’t listen to the 4 star reviews or 5 stars there either bought or old this place is horrible now.
