I had been here a number of times but my girlfriend had not. Food was amazing as usual. Service is always incredible. The owners are very down-to-earth and bring a unique menu and great experiences to the table
Stopped on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. 5 of us total. We loved the atmosphere immediately. Plus tons of great drinks and beer on tap. The food was wonderful. Great apps! We got the loaded fries, wings and buffalo cauliflower, a burger, BLT, and philly sandwich. Everyone loved their meal. Amazing service, very friendly. We definitely recommend this place and will be back at some point when we are back in the area!
My husband and I went for the first time tonight we got fried cheese curds for an app and we each got the bourbon bear creek burger. Best restaurant food we have had in a Long time. They really put thought into flavors and their menu. Our waitress was great too! We will be back!
Michael the owner and Jackie as our server gave us Excellent customer service and the food was amazing! We were warmly greeted from the time we came in and they checked in on us to make sure everything was going well. We had a great experience here.
Been here 12 times cant find anything that's bad. Service and food is of the charts. Never been to a restaurant so many times and received high quality food and service so great!
My husband and I went to lunch here today for the first time. The server was very friendly and attentive, which was especially nice given she was the only one on. We each got a different burger with fries. Both burgers were delicious, as were the fries. Would definitely come back.
A great place to have a nice dinner, drinks, and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. What impressed me at first was the layout. You walk in, the bar is to the left with some seating across from the bar, if you so choose, but then the main dining room sectioned off from that area. It allows for a completely different dining experience, and not having to fight the typical bar noise while having a conversation with people at your table. I really liked that. The staff was excellent. Speedy with drinks at the bar, friendly as can be from the hosts and servers. Our server had a particularly energetic vibe that just made the new dining experience all the more enjoyable. She suggested different entrees and explained why she was suggesting certain ones. It was like we were old friends. The food came in a very timely manner and was cooked exactly how my wife and I asked. I ordered a burger called The Bobby, and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. I know that sounds cliche, but it's no exaggeration in my opinion. I'm torn because when I go back, I'll want to get it again, but at the same time I want to try other items on the menu too. I have been recommending Bear Creek Bar and Grill to numerous family, friends, and coworkers since my wife and I dined there. A fantastic meal and experience!
The owners are so friendly and know their customers well. I like the option of indoor or outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The food is delicious and they offer rewards points for repeat customers. It’s a great spot to stop for happy hour with coworkers or friends. Get the pretzel sticks with dipping sauces; the sauces are homemade, and I would drink them!
I was at the restaurant on 7/3/24 during the July 4th festivities with my girlfriend . We were at the bar and Angela was our bartender. This place was packed with people for the fireworks. I have never had a bartender that was so quick waiting on people and she was non stop taking care of the customers. I just want the owners to know when they have employees that make a difference.
Our waiters name was Dave he was quick informational and very outgoing. I ordered a captain and coke and my girlfriend ordered their house Chardonnay. the drinks where fantastic. our meals where delivered quickly. my heat burger was cooked perfect and had great flavor. her Mac and cheese was excellent and the icing on the cake was when one of the owners Matt came over and asked if we were pleased with everything. Local business like this should be awarded our business we will be back
We love coming to Bear Creek! The food is always great...my go to is always the French onion island! And the pretzels with the three dips are great. The best. The service from Alli is always wonderful!
Mr. Piraino has once again put his culinary skills on display! The crew here at Bear Creek is friendly, fun and very service oriented. The food is amazing! The new menu with smoked brisket, and so many other choices really hits the spot when you're feeling hungry!
An amazing burger and friendly atmosphere!!
If I could give them a 20 out of 10 I would. Every time I get to come here my food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. They hire the best people - so nice! I will always recommend Bear Creek if you’re in the mood for some fantastic comfort food and a good time!
This place is great for a small getaway. Although, they didn't have the dessert I wanted they came to apologize and wanted to ensure everything was good. They have great customer service and our waitress was quick and efficient.
The food was fantastic and came out quick. So much flavor!! Dave was our waiter and was great. One of the owners Matt made it a point to come to our table and ask how our meal was which just goes to show how much they care. If you’re a wine-o like myself I highly recommend the house Chardonnay! I can’t wait to go back.
Bear creek where everything from The drinks to the meal were extraordinary. Our waitress Alli was amazing and welcoming . Would recommend to our friends and family! Way to go bear creek for a great meal and experience
Stopped by to check it out due to an ad supporting the local high school. We ordered the nachos and they could be the best we’ve ever had! So fresh and tasty! Plus the the beer selection was excellent! We will be back to try other items very soon!
Ate here for the first time tonight. Service was very good. Waitress was very attentive (refilled drinks and brought extra napkins without being asked, etc.). Even the owner (I think) checked on us a couple times. Food was very good. I had some of the best riggies around. Two others in our group had burgers that they wolfed down. Good food, good portions, reasonable prices. We will be back.
We sat at the bar and had great service from one of the owners. The smoked wings were crispy and the house sauce was good! The drinks were good and the food was delicious. We had beef on week and the rueben. A really great night out!!
What a wonderful place to treat yourself too. We were greeted so kindly and served quickly! It also came with beautiful and kind conversation after a long day. It’s really obvious that the owners care about what they put out on their menu and truly care about their patrons. We all need to take a moment and appreciate THE TRUE GEMS when you can find them and this is the one 💕
Food was delicious, the owner and staff were amazing, will definitely visit again!!
Found Bear Creek last year and it has become our regular place to grab dinner. From the Fried Pickles to the amazing burgers to my wife's favorite, the snake bite pasta. They never disappoint! Drinks are well made, beer on tap is always fresh. Now they have gotten a smoker and stepped it up even further! Highly recommend Bear Creek if you are looking for friendly service, phenomenal food, and a great atmosphere, try them.
The burgers were delicious!!! Cooked just the way I like mine!! I love the atmosphere. Our waitress was fun!! Been here several times & never disappointed!! Can't wait to go back!!!
We stopped on a whim to grab a bite, we were so happy we did. The food was delicious. We got the brisket it was one of the best we have had. The flavor was spot on. Our server was so nice. Just a wonderful experience.
Foods great. Owner is a wicked good guy. Good food and good conversations
Exceptional food, awesome beer choices. Owner came out to talk to us about how he prepares the food. Can't say enough about the service.
First time having dinner here at Bear Creek and it was the best day to come! They just got a slow smoker and smoked chicken it was moist, tender, and delicious! We ordered the Ribeye steak platter and the steak was cooked perfectly medium, had a fantastic grilled char and the juices from the steak kept it tender. The mashed potatoes had a wonderful vinegar taste. The cowboy corn was rich and sinful. The SIDE of chili was enough to be a whole meal itself! The smoked pork belly beans paired perfectly with the smoked chicken. The dinner was handsdown fantastic! We will be coming back for more soon. I recommend ordering dessert and finishing off what little stomach capacity you have left for the decadent chocolate cake. Order some mixed drinks or a beer and enjoy. Thank you for one of the best dinners out money can buy.
Food was excellent!!! Amazing burgers! I had the Bourbon Burger and my son had the Taco Burger. Both, son and I enjoyed our burgers! Grand son had the Mac and cheese meal and enjoyed it. Great beer selection on tap! Reasonably priced to. Server was new - hence my four star rating for service. With a little more time she will be more attentive.
pretzel & pickle fries were great. I had the build-your-own with beef patty + fancy sauce, it was cooked perfect. their orange soda cocktail was also really good, super refreshing& not too sweet, perfect for summer.
The burgers here are unique works of art: carefully considered ingredients and perfectly executed. Don't be afraid to try something you never would have considered, you won't be disappointed. AND there's a really nice sour beer list!
Love it, great staff , good times amazing food. The pie is almost as amazing as stepping back onto American soil after a deployment to Afghanistan. Definitely my new go to spot.
I came in and sat at the bar to order food but also have a quick drink while I waited. Service was quick and to have a conversation with one of the owners while I waited was a nice switch up from regular bar experiences. It was such a nice experience that I switched from a to go order to an eat in order. The chicken riggies I ordered were amazing and thank you for being okay with me switching to eat in. Willl absolutely be eating here on a regular basis.
I've ordered take out here before but never been inside. I'm glad I did this time the atmosphere was awesome the food was awesome and staff and service was awesome. The cook/ owner I believe comes out and talks to you to see how things are to make sure everything was All good definitely will be back 👍👍👍👍👍
A favorite stop for dinner on the way to upstate NY. Sadly, the season is ending so we won't see you again until spring. Staff is always very friendly. Owner is always happy to see the guests and makes it a point to speaking with as many as possible. Everything made to order. This last trip (10/8/21) tried the fried cheese curd with sauce...YUM. See you again in the spring of 2022!
My favorite local spot. Good people, good music, GREAT food. The smoked wings are the best in the area by FAR and they have my favorite wing sauce, sweet Thai chili. The black onion burger is also insanely good and worth trying. I can also confidently recommend the bacon board if you're looking to treat yourself, the bourbon butter sauce is out of this world. Locally owned — The owner Mike is a pretty down to earth and passionate guy who seems to genuinely care about the quality and taste of the food they're serving. Bonus points for not having sports announcers and commercials blaring like most bars.
We stopped here while traveling back from Montreal to Northwest PA as it was along the route back and we are so happy we found this place! The burgers were fantastic and they had a wide variety of beers, as a passenger on a long ride it was fun to kick back and relax with some good food and drink! The atmosphere is great too, love the rustic vibe. If you have room for dessert, have some peanut butter pie! It was amazing!
We stopped in unexpectedly with a large party. The owner was very knowledgeable made great recommendations and treated us well. I would highly recommend!
I have to say last night I had the best pull pork sandwich I have had in Syracuse to date. It was so tender, juicy, and flavorful it reminded me of my hometown BBQ place. They also have this homemade Peppered American Cheese that was just incredible. 10/10 recommend
My favorite spot! Angela knows you and remembers your order. I sit at the bar so I can enjoy the house chicken wings. The French onion island is delicious. Don’t understand the negative reviews about not being able to order wings. The cool thing about owning a restaurant is you can make whatever rules you want. Will return again and again!
Had a great meal tonight with my wife and 4 year old daughter. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. We both had burgers and they were cooked perfect to our orders. We will certainly go back again, lots of good looking food on the menu to try out.
Really like the place. Been there a few times. The food's been great, great people working there but there is a scent around the bar of septic backing up? Both my wife and I smelled it every time we've been there. Otherwise the place is definitely worthwhile going. Probably next time I'll sit further away from the bar area where the smell isn't that bad. Regardless, we will be back! The owner is top notch!! Highly recommend!
Amazing business and amazing owner who cares about his customers! Will forever be a regular customer here. Best chicken nachos and burgers!!
Bear Creek is my new favorite place!! The owner Mike is so kind & always happy to chat with you when you’re at the restaurant. Him and his significant other work there and she is the kindest and attentive server! We came off the boat and he even let us sit outside away from other customers with our doggies. On top of that we always have amazing & fast service, and honestly OUTSTANDING food. The Reuben is phenomenal, the poutine is amazing and the mac and cheese is honestly the best I ever had. He even made me and my friends a special dish of his chicken riggies when we claimed to be riggie experts 😂 and I will say they were the best chicken riggies I’ve ever had. I wish I took a pic of the food but it was so good I ate it too quick LOL No matter what you hear about this place you NEED TO try it and meet the owner. We are lucky to have a spot like this in town!
The food was fantastic and really good quality for the price. The atmosphere was quiet and inviting, and the service was superb. The owner even stopped out to talk with the tables more than once.
ike the owner clearly pours his heart into every detail — and on my very first visit right after my haircut today, it showed. The food was exceptional: fresh, bold, perfectly seasoned flavors that blew me away with every bite. For a smaller spot, the restaurant is absolutely stunning — a relaxing vibe with that perfect Adirondack touch inside through warm woods, rustic accents, and cozy up-north charm that instantly puts you at ease. Left impressed and already planning my return — a true local gem!
The owner is A-mazing. So friendly and personable. The food is excellent. I had a chopped brisket sandwich and smoked baked beans. Just yummmm!
Upstate NY smoked meats bbq restaurant. We had the brisket poutine, the French dip, the poutine burger, and the bacon board for an appetizer. All the choices were fantastic. The prices were reasonable and the service was excellent.
I’ve heard a lot of great things about this place & decided to stop there tonight on the way home. The company was so inviting & easy to talk to. I walked in with my fiancé and there wasn’t enough seats at the bar and a man offered to get up to make space for us. After good conversation with patrons at the bar & employees behind the bar I realized that man was the owner. He took the time to talk to every single person sitting at the bar. Him & I talked about how I have been a bartender/waitress for 9 years and about life - First time meeting this guy & he took the time to chat and gave me a lot of feed back that I will hold onto and open my eyes to. You want to have a good time, good food & service, ice cold drinks, amazing atmosphere & be surrounded by true people, this is the place!
My husband had the poutine burger. Best burger ever. Whoever made it could be my new best friend. I had the meatloaf. Absolutely wonderful. Very unique and delicious
Place is super clean! Friendly atmosphere, owners are super friendly. Ordered a pickup order for a dinner at home and it was packaged so bread wasn't sloppy and everything tasted great! They even have a reward program that wasn't pushed great experience overall!
Great restaurant with delicious smoked meat. We were pleasantly surprised by the buffalo cauliflower which was tender with a wonderful buffalo sauce. Friendly staff and a plentiful beer list. A great place for a substantial meal at a very reasonable price.
Excellent, quick service. Waitress was already coming with another drink as I was finishing my last sip. Hands down the best brisket I’ve had in NYS, poutine burger was excellent, mashed potatoes obviously made from scratch. This place is worth every penny, We will be back.
We stopped by for dinner on a weekday. Friendly service, and a big beer selection. We ordered the pickle fries and those were the best fried pickles we've had. They slice the pickles into spears like French fries and they came out crispy. Our dinners were good, food tasted fresh and well prepared. Only complaint was the steak was overcooked, I ordered medium rare and it came out well done, but still juicy and tasted ok.
This was our first visit to Bear Creek Restaurant in Brewerton, and it won’t be our last! We arrived just after several other parties were seated, and the host let us know there might be a short wait for food. Drinks (Diet, no ice & Raspberry Iced Tea) came out quickly, which gave us time to enjoy looking over the menu. The menu is fantastic — a true variety with something for everyone: burgers, brisket, salads, pasta, and even tempting desserts. I ordered the infamous Reuben, and it lived up to the name. The thick-cut marble rye was perfectly grilled, the corned beef tender and flavorful, and the balance of flavors spot on. I only wished for a little extra sauerkraut on the side — it was that good! My husband went with the Texas Meatloaf, which was outstanding. It’s packed with peppers and jalapeños, topped with a delicious sauce, and served over creamy five-cheese mashed potatoes with smoked corn layered on top. He couldn’t stop raving about it. Despite being busy, our server checked in on us several times and made sure we had everything we needed. The service felt attentive without being rushed. The atmosphere is warm, comfortable, and welcoming — perfect for a casual night out. There’s plenty of parking, and you can get to Bear Creek easily from both Bartell Rd. and Miller Rd. It’s clear this is a place locals love, and now we see why. We’ll definitely be back and will happily recommend Bear Creek Restaurant to friends and family. A hidden gem in Brewerton worth visiting more than once!
On this week’s episode of Iron Chef… I really feel I’m not too far off on saying that. What should I get into first? The welcoming and friendly service to the nice décor or the amazing food. Let’s start with the food. I like to try new drinks, and when a restaurant has a whisky/bourbon-based drink, I’m there. That being said, the Papa Bear’s Bourbon is delightful. Made with double shots of bourbon to give you a nice stiff drink, it pairs nicely with the orange bitters, peach and ginger ale to balance the drink to give you the desired smoothness. The added Rosemary gives additional dimension that only grows over time. I don’t often brag about salad, but I actually wanted more. The house Italian with parmesan has the right amount of bite and is very nice. The romaine lettuce is fresh and cut into smaller pieces, the way I like it. Let’s talk about the main attraction. The Ribeye Platter. The side choices I went with are the Onion Twigs and French Fries. Natural cut fries are the way to go all day every day. No one can convince me otherwise. The Onion Twigs with dipping sauce was hard to stop eating. The ribeye was cooked to perfection. I love my steak cooked medium, and have been hesitant requesting it cooked this way, as many places don’t know how to temp meat properly. The steak was cooked flawlessly and seasoned with just a little salt, pepper and garlic. The most tender and flavorful ribeye I have ever had at a restaurant. This truly needed nothing else on it, ya don’t mess with perfection. Side note: my wife ordered the Smoke and Onions Burger, that came with their signature black onions, and she let me try them. All I have to say is move over maple onion jam, there is a new sheriff in town. How about the Bourbon Macchiato Pie. Truly a slice of heaven, it is divine. The textures and flavors are lovely, and diverse. The warm bourbon butter sauce raises everything beyond compare. This experience is, dare I say, transformative. You may think I am exaggerating, but I think may have briefly reached another plane of existence. The portions for everything are large, and the prices are reasonable. I mentioned before the welcoming and friendly service, so let’s talk about that. Our waitress was so nice and conversational. The owner took time to visit tables and talk with patrons too. I really appreciate this kind of interaction, it is so personal. Even though it was our first time there, we felt like we were catching up with old friends. By the time we left, I knew more about what was going on in these people’s lives, than I know about some of my relatives. We will be returning again and again.
This has got to be the best Ruben sandwich I've ever had!!!! No shaved deli meet here! Nice cuts of tender, melt in your mouth, juicy meat fill this sandwich. The poutine is awesome with chunks of, what I would call beef pot roast with gravy. The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere is pleasant. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Enjoyed our burgers and liked the beer selection. However, reviews about a noticeable smell are accurate. As soon as we walked in, I kind of wanted to walk back out because of a bad odor. I saw in other reviews that they said it isn't the sewer but it kind of smells like a stinky bathroom. The smell is less severe the further you sit from the bar/bathroom/front door area.
Sign on the door said NYS Best Burger Award. A bold statement, but Blueberry Barbecue Burger was right up there! Cooked perfectly and delicious! A bit pricey at ~$17 with only chips as a side. Upcharge for fries or other sides. The decor was very nice. Service a bit slow for the number of patrons. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
My wife and I came here for an early anniversary dinner. It's not a very large place but that is ok because I'm not a fan of huge restaurants. Our server was very personable and even recommended spaghetti sandwiches(that's a story for another time😃)! She answered all of our questions to help us on our final decision. I will say this, prices v. portions are not balanced out well. But I understand that they need to bump prices when ingredients inflate. Food was delicious otherwise. I did have an issue with a "slightly" rowdy guest sitting on the other side of the restaurant. I like to eat my dinner in peace and while I know there is ambient noise, this gentleman was very loud on more than one occasion. As soon as he left everything was back to normal. Overall we had a good experience and will be back sometime.
I came here, because I saw them on the top burger place in New York last year, soI wanted to give it a go. It was a solid burger. It had a little crispyness to the outside, and it had the moisture on the inside. The flavor was good, and I liked the sauce I had on mine. They also had a half price appetizer deal, which was cool. A solid selection of beer as well. I would come back again.
We've been meaning to give this a try and were not disappointed. The pickle fries were perfectly cooked and the spice in the batter was a pleasant surprise. The burger was cooked as requested and juicy. The pub chips could have used a little salt when pulled from the fryer but still good.
This place is great. The decor is top notch, the atmosphere was wonderful. The new owners and location are great. For a place not on the water I feel $7 drinks is a bit pricey. They make good food as the old place did. I will say if you're in the area try it out. Just be ready to pull out your wallet.
Average food with above average price for what you get. We had a chicken sandwich and a burger. Brioche buns were aged and falling apart. Burger tasted good but bread would not hold together. Both came with a very small serving size of fries. Server was attentive and polite, on top of her game.
This HAS to be the Worst Service that I have had in Many, MANY years. I travel A Lot and stopped here for the night after a long drive from Maine. I just ordered a burger and a few beers. After an hour & 15 minutes and 3 beers I got my burger!! It was EXCELLENT!! VERY Tasty 👅 and cooked Just Right!! When I came in it was packed but people were ALREADY eating, so within 1/2 hour it was Close to empty. I waited and Waited, NO food so Another beer. Finally I got that Great Burger. After eating the waitress asked anything else, I said No , just the bill. 10 minutes later , she drops the Bill. Another 15 minutes and she WALKED by me 4 times, Cleaning Tables and taking dirty dishes to the back. I was SO Pissed that I Had to go to the bar and pay. I am from Ohio so I can’t compare service in NY . But ALL I know if you operated a Restaurant's in Ohio like that, then You Wouldn’t be in Business Very Long…. Got there at 7:45 got out a 9:15 for a Beer and Burger!!! Like I said EXCELLENT Burger but Terrible Service!! Get a Bus Boy so the Waitress can DO her job taking Care of Customers INSTEAD of Bussing tables!!
Food is good, but it takes forever to come out. Don’t expect refills on your drinks, service is almost non existent. The servers are nice when you get one. The prices are bit outrageous and you get charged if you don’t want something onions on your burger! The Brewer Union is down the road and so much faster, and much less expensive.
Went awhile but never posted my review. Visited during a weeknight. Service was nice, one of the owners stopped by as well. Food was ok. Poutine didnt have cheese curds, instead shredded cheese. Shrimp and grits needed more seasoning in the grits. Would definitely try it again, understand that they newly opened.
If I could give a more accurate rating I'd give it a 3.5 given that our experience was a bit better than average. The disappointment came mostly with the apps than the entree's. I ordered a side salad for $5 and it was a very small salad which contained only lettuce tomatoes and onions. Given that I can't eat onions I had those left off. So basically it was a small bowl of lettuce with some grape tomatoes cut up and dressing of my choice. For $5 it was disappointing. We also ordered the French Onion soup and it too was disappointing, but it only had a cost of $4. The soups onions were cooked nicely and the broth was good but they used a piece of their garlic bread that seems to accompany many items and just a dollop of cheese in the center. The entree's were very good and provided sizeable portions. The riggies are hot though so consider requesting a light amount of peppers or perhaps none. The Mac and cheese was excellent. Both entree's were ordered with chicken and that was quite good as well. We didn't order any dessert so you'll have to let us know how they are. Staff/service was excellent. We will likely return but will be more aware in the future of some of these menu items. Sorry we didn't get any food pics. Next time we'll try to remember before starting to eat. LOL. Enjoy!
Ordered products without cheese as being allergic to dairy and they came with cheese on them, the owner then brought them back out in less than a minute with the cheese pulled off of them but the remnants of the cheese still being on them.We were never asked how our food was until I mentioned it to the waitress and we were given a not acceptable answer and the plate was not taken off the bill.It will be the last time there after a 4 year wait from first bad impression. Owner responded as he sat at the bar drinking and had the gull to say we are lying about our review and tells us to not come back Wow!!!!
Do not come here if you have a food allergy. Food took about 40 minutes to arrive. I asked for a chicken sandwich without cheese for allergy reasons, and I received a sandwich with cheese. I communicated this with the server and it came back two minutes later clearly just scrapped off. When we asked the server, they admitted to it and wasn’t willing to resolve it. Extremely disappointing and dangerous decision made by the staff. Another person asked for no cheese on their sandwich for taste reasons and it was clearly scrapped off their burger as well. We were also given incorrect sides. Restaurant was not busy so there really was no reason for such poor service. Owner sits at the bar watching television. Edit after response: we were literally peeling cheese off the sandwiches. There was nothing left after other than chicken and bread…not sure where I am lying. We talked to the server about the issue where they ADMITTED to scrapping it off.
Old Burger King that they should have left as a BK! Tastelss overpriced food. $14 for a burger with brown lettuce and half a slice of tomatoe. And they charged $1.50 more for cheese and another $1.50 for one tiny side of mayo. Who charges for mayo?? They brought us two sides of mayo without us asking so that was $3 for something we didn't even use. We should have gone to McDonalds.
Waitress staff was amazing! Cooks on the other hand they were so slow the Waitress had to go back and ask why a Philly cheese steak took 45 minutes.
The waitstaff was awesome, very kind and attentive. The food on the other hand was horrible. My burger was overcooked and my “carmalized” onions were obviously grilled and partially cooked. The order of fries was legit a kids sized order. My daughter ordered a steak with 5 cheese mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. The steak was highly charred on the outside and still mooing at the center, the potatoes were obviously out of the box and dry with very little hint of cheese, the Mac n cheese was “watered” down and had a gritty texture. My mother order a garlic broccoli alfredo, again the sauce was very thin, the broccoli was extremely undercooked and the garlic was raw out of jar from the fridge. Based on the food we won’t be returning.
Food was good once it arrived but it took 10 minutes to get a server and another 15 minutes to get our first drink and the place wasn't full. Soda was flat and tasted funny (ordered diet pepsi but i don't think that's what they serve) the ketchup was sour like it had expired (both I think are off-brand types)- waitress said its meant to be sour? Kinda ruins the burger IMO.. I came with my 11 year old daughter and we managed to spend over $60 (before tip) after a burger, mac n cheese, an appetizer and 2 soft drinks. I always loved the old Bear Creek on Rt 11 but don't see myself going back to this version. Prices are too high for the service and off-brand offerings.
This was my first time there and I was not impressed. You can still see burger king atmosphere and the food was subpar . I can't believe you charge those prices for burgers and then have the nerve to charge extra for fries. To top it all you dont sell hot beverage. I have had better burgers. The fries was cold as well. Your server when we gave her the bill she assumed the change was hers she just said thank you and never asked about change back we had to tell her bring back the change. In reading all of your bad reviews instead of saying they are lying maybe you should listen to there complains and fix the problems .
I ate here earlier this week, and the burger was good so I invited my husband to come this evening with me.We were greeted nicely by the server and we ordered an appetizer and I decided to try something new on the menu (a pasta) and my husband had a hamburger and upgraded to fries. The appetizer was good but not enough sauce to get through so I asked for another small cup of sauce since there was barely any in the first one. The bowl of pasta was very large however it was so soupy and there were only five shrimp (I had upgraded and added Shrimp for an additional 7.50) pasta sauce was supposed to be a creamy cheese sauce but I couldn't taste any cheese so I asked for some Parmesan. (Since the waitress didn't come to check on us, I got up each time we needed something and had to ask her because she was in a corner chatting and wasn't coming to our table to check on us.) My husband enjoyed his hamburger. My pasta was hard and soupy and lacked taste. The waitress didn't seem interested when she asked us if we liked it and really knowing if we really did or not. I think the thing that bothers me quite a bit was that they charged for the small portion of dip for the appetizer as well as small portion of Parmesan cheese and didn't seem interested in knowing if the food was up to par or not. I don't think we'll be going back and I regret having brought my husband there, although he did enjoy his hamburger 😁 But was disappointed with how few fries there were in the upgrade... that they also charged for. I have never written a review before but I guess I was pretty disappointed with the experience and the lack of interest in knowing if their client was satisfied.
This place has a sort of local charm but as an unbiased traveler off the road, I found the experience to be lacking. The sirloin steak was a tough little lump of meat that barely yielded to a knife. It's not that hard to make a sirloin steak palatable; you marinade it and/or tenderize it with a hammer- I learned from the waitress that theirs do not benefit from either. The garlic bread was simply toasted bread with parsley - no trace of garlic at all. Most places give you plain bread for free with a steak, but this place charges you $5 for it - and calls it something it isn't. The broccoli was unseasoned and overdone, the fries were fine. I pointed out the false advertising on the bread and though it seemed to offend her greatly, the waitress took it off the bill. The receipt however bore a $.50 charge for the butter and a $1.00 charge for the tiny souffle cup of mayonnaise I asked for. I couldn't resist only saying that I found it a little humorous that they were charging me a dollar for mayonnaise and goodness graciousness, this earned me a lecture on how tough times are, the price of everything is going up, and it takes extra time for the kitchen staff to put the mayonnaise in a cup. The education on our economic climate, thankfully, came free of charge.
I went with my wife to this restaurant for the first time based upon recommendations from our friends. We we very disappointed in the food. I ordered the taco salad and it was very unusual and hardly could qualify as a taco salad. Lettuce topped with a small amount of dark shredded chicken and three taco chips on the top!!! My wife had a different salad where the lettuce was grilled. She said it was quite bad and again very unusual. We are seasoned world travelers so our dinning experiences are vast Would never go back to this restaurant and they need reevaluated their cooks/chief.
Not the place to go for good bbq. Went on a Sunday. Waitress listed off several items that weren't available. We ordered a burger and a brisket meal. The beans were the highlight of the whole meal. The smoked corn tasted like lighter fluid. We overheard the cook telling another customer that things were frozen and thawed to be served. The burger was definitely frozen. Not great at all. Brisket was dryer than a popcorn fart. Cheesey mashed potatoes were like stucco. First time there will be te last time there. Bummer. Spend your $$ somewhere else. $70 something dollars including one beer could be spent elsewhere waaaaaay better.
If you are looking for a nice dining expereience, drive right past this restaurant (its easy to spot, in a OLD BURGER KING) and go right to McDonalds where you might actually get value for your money, and wont be DENIED FOOD because you are an adult, or are sitting at a certain table.. The reviews show that adults have been denied chicken tenders and people are not allowed to order chicken wings at a table. Whatever the reason the owners have done this stupid crap, is the same reason im going to share this restaurant's info to reddit so those folks can come over here and speak their mind on these policy's also. Even if they policy has changed, having it to begin with, is asinine.
I made a stop after fishing with my beloved girlfriend last night who suffers with Huntingtons Disease for a toast to a great night spent together doing what we enjoy and to her daily goals and strides she’s been making and conquering. After being told by the Owner last call was 15 min ago he proceeded to make fun of my lady. Quoting “It doesn’t look like she needs a Drink anyways” immediately assuming because of her hard time walking that she was Drunk. To say I was Upset was an understatement it broke my heart. It was very unprofessional of him. He told us that we probably made it up he’s never heard of such a thing…. Will never be back to this restaurant 👎
Went there Saturday night ordered the bacon/cheese burger asked for plain mayonnaise rather the maple mayonnaise it came with. Server brought both says “I brought you both in case you wanted to try it” but I didn’t. The bill came and I was charged for extra mayonnaise. When restaurants pull that crap it just tells me they are desperate. Burger nothing special, a cooked angus burger I can get anywhere. Will not go back. Or recommend.
We waited 45min.for hamburgers that were cold when we got them.we saw the waitress once to take our order and then not until she brought our food it was not busy maybe 3 other tables of people on a Saturday at 530pm.we did not see waitress again until she brought our bill and for 3 cheeseburgers it was 62.00 no appetizer and burgers only came with chips we had 1 soda and 2 waters.we will not be going back i just questions who wrote the reviews because we only went there because they had good reviews.
I only give it one star because it doesn’t allow me to do none!! One of the rudest men/business owners I have even met! I don’t foresee his place lasting if that’s how he treats his regulars!! *Response to the owner: Mike, thank you for your response a while back. I only came across it recently when something reminded me of the review I posted a few months ago. I agree that some people have forgotten how to act. After reading your response I felt I should share more details, so you don’t think I was being dishonest or have forgotten how to act. First, I wanted to acknowledge that you have hardworking, friendly staff. My review was based on my last experience when my boyfriend and I stopped in, as we had many times before. It was 20 minutes before closing and as soon as we walked in you loudly said something along the lines of “Oh no, not tonight! We are done serving! I have a softball game in the morning!” Meanwhile, the bar was almost full with patrons. This was heard by everyone in the bar. It was embarrassing and we felt singled out, so we left. You are absolutely! People are entitled to their opinion and tastes, but that does not make it okay to be rude. Also, you may want to review how to professionally respond to a customer.
After reading the reviews I will "NEVER" visit here. Yeah the photos look cool but making fun of someone with Huntingtons disease that's all I need to know about this place. Funny how the owner always comments on reviews that bash the food from not being good but never stated an apology on that particular review. This place sounds gosh awful. If you are looking for a kind place this definitely isn't it. Maybe you guys ought to go into selling insurance or something. Here because you don't know what it is and you rudely bashed someone even though I know what Huntingtons disease is and you don't.... read and maybe you will learn how to be kind. Huntington's disease (HD) is a fatal, inherited neurological disorder causing progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain, affecting movement, thinking (cognition), and mental health (psychiatric symptoms). It results from a genetic mutation (CAG repeat expansion in the huntingtin gene on chromosome 4) and is passed down in an autosomal dominant pattern, meaning a 50% chance for children if a parent has it. Symptoms, often starting in middle age (30s-40s), include uncontrolled jerky movements (chorea), balance problems, mood swings (depression, irritability), memory issues, and eventually difficulty walking, talking, and swallowing, leading to severe disability and needing full-time care. There's currently no cure, but medications and therapies manage symptoms, with death often from complications like infections or falls within 15-20 years of symptom onset. For you to lose a customer over this is Great for you guys. Maybe you will lose more. I am ashamed to know that people like you are in the restaurant business. Food brings people together but you have to one serve good food secondly you need to learn how to be kind to your guests. I hope this doesn't get lost in the review section of things.
