Fantastic food and service with a decent ambience. We ordered the railway cutlets to start and they were pretty good, soft crispy and crumbly texture with ample flavor. For the curries we got the Paneer Tawa Masala and the Fig and Walnut Kofta. Both were great but the kofta was the clear winner, new and unique flavor with the right balance of sweet and spicy. Manager also recommended we try the Malai Ghewar for dessert and that definitely lived up to expectations and didn't disappoint. Service was also pretty quick with not too long wait times. Atmosphere was good too although it felt a bit crowded. Would definitely come again.
We had heard about this place from a lot of friends and wanted to go and see what the hype was about and this place lives upto all the hype. Starting from the ambience which is cozy for a good date or fun night with friends. The servers are attentive and amazing with recommendations. We started with the cocktails, mocktails and appetisers. We tried the stuffed aaloo tikki and fried podi idli. Both were amazing, good quantity and left us wanting more. We tried the indian litchi cocktail and mango mint mocktail. The cocktail was not watered down and was perfect and the mocktail was refreshing. We ordered figs and walnut kofta for our main course along with dal makhni. The koftas were amazing, the best I’ve have had in bay area. Crunchy yet soft and perfectly dipped in gravy. Dal makhni was flavourful and the quantities were amazing for all the dishes. We ordered garlic naan and it was so soft and light. For our rice dish we ordered jackfruit biryani and it was one of the best dishes on their menu, flavourful, jackfruits well cooked and this dish exceeded all expectations from a veg biryani. Even though we were full but their appetising dessert menu made us go for the ghevar! Prettiest looking dessert but not just pretty it was perfect amount of sweet with the light malai topping. Gobbled it up in seconds. Overall we left this place eager to return again and try more dishes on their menu. Thank you Broadway team.
I live in Boston, but I make frequent visits to San Francisco. On one of my earlier trips, I asked my Uber driver—who happened to be Sikh—to recommend an Indian restaurant where he, his friends, and his family actually eat. Without hesitation, he spoke very highly of Broadway Masala in Redwood City. Although it was a fairly long drive for my wife and me, we decided to go—and that first visit, many months ago, absolutely blew us away. The ambience is excellent: warm, inviting, and tastefully done. The staff is genuinely helpful and welcoming. Each time we’ve visited, we’ve been greeted by Sunny, who runs the place and sets the tone with his friendliness and professionalism. Swati, the owner, is almost always there as well—hands-on, gracious, and incredibly attentive. Both Sunny and Swati took the time to recommend dishes, and what they suggested had unbelievable flavor—every bite reminded me of the very best Indian restaurants in New Delhi. It’s honestly hard to single out specific dishes, because everything we’ve tried has been outstanding. My advice: go more than once, and try something different each time—you won’t be disappointed. Broadway Masala is absolutely worth the drive. It’s the kind of place you remember long after the meal is over, and one we now return to whenever we’re anywhere near the Bay Area.
I recently had lunch at Broadway Masala, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. Manager was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The lunch was delicious, with flavorful dishes that truly stood out. I highly recommend Broadway Masala for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience!
Me and my wife been fans of the Broadway Masala since about 2 years ago. We’ve been going there often due to just how good their food is. My wife loves the Butter Chicken there while I’m in love with the goat and fish dishes! Raj, the owner, is one of the nicest people I’ve meet - extremely friendly and accommodating. He even throws in some extras for regulars from time to time! If you’re ever in Redwood City, you definitely have to try it!
I’m always satisfied here at Broadway Masala. They do traditional Indian food the best. Their butter chicken is so delicious we keep coming back for more. Their vegetarian options are also so delicious. I especially enjoy the fig and walnut kofta and gobi manchurian. When friends are in town I love to take them here.
We stopped in after a haircut in the area. We had curry, butter chicken, samosas, Manchurian cauliflower and naan. All were delicious. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We capped off our dinner with some tasty treats. I would definitely come back here when in the area.
Updated as of 10/18/25 had a wonderful time at broadway masala for dinner. Their avocado bhel is a must try 😊 The main course was tasty and warm hospitality. We recently ordered Saag Paneer and Lamb Chops for takeout. Unfortunately, the Saag Paneer lacked flavor and tasted a bit undercooked, and the Lamb Chops were also on the dry side. We’ve enjoyed food from here in the past, so this experience was a bit disappointing. Hoping it was just an off day.
The best Indian food that I've had in a very long time. Excellent service, upscale and romantic atmosphere. The flavors were delicate and complex and rich. And generous portions! I had to stop myself from stuffing myself silly. They accommodated my wife's dietary restrictions. This is a picture of the rice pudding which had rose petals, saffron strands, and cardamom. Amazing! We will be back!
We go to Broadway Masala quite frequently and have admired there consistent quality of Indian cuisine. The new manager Rajnish has added another aspect which is good service in helping us select the right dishes for our vegetarian friends as well as taking care of special dietary needs. We had the usual appetizers, bhel, railway cutlets, idly podi and the cauliflower Bezul. For the meaning entree we had the Tava Fish which was a cod pan fried with flour, the jackfruit Niharika a new dish and the tofu curry. For dessert, Rajnish surprised us with a cake for a birthday we were celebrating and some jalebi with rabri. With so many new Indian restaurants with fusion styles it is good to go back to basics at Broadway Masala
We really enjoyed the food at Broadway Masala. If you like spicy drinks order the spicy margarita (be warned - it’s spicy. It was a little too spicy for me). The starters were the standouts - Avocado Bhel and Pesto Paneer Tikka were amazing. I would definitely order those appetizers again. The Fig and Walnut Kofta and the Murg Methi Malai (tandoor chicken with cashews) were good, as well as the garlic naan. When I was there for dinner they were playing 1970s American hits in the instrumental version. I felt that took away from the atmosphere. There was a mixup with the leftovers and the manager Raj kindly remediated it. Thank you, Raj.
A fantastic Indian dining experience with a touch of finesse! The fig and walnut kofta was an absolute standout—rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced. The naan complemented it well, making every bite indulgent. The railway cutlet was a delightful starter, and the trio of chutneys on the side added an extra layer of flavor. While most dishes were exceptional, the chai was a letdown—too watery for those who prefer a thick, creamy brew. Overall, a must-visit spot for unique and well-balanced Indian flavors!
We tried the Indian vegetarian dishes here, they were really well made. Not greasy and delicious! The appetizers are innovative and tasteful. We tried the fried Idli chat - it was too good! The breads are excellent too. Kid friendly and warm vibe. The staff is courteous and kind. Highly recommend to vegetarians.
Broadway Masala is an amazing Indian restaurant that offers an authentic Indian taste with a modern twist. They excel at experimenting with flavors and creating unique fusion dishes. I visited with friends, and we were thoroughly impressed. For appetizers, we tried the railway cutlet, paneer pesto, and gobi manchurian—each one was absolutely spot on. For the entrées, we ordered the walnut fig kofta curry, chettinad mushroom, and their dal makhani. Special shoutout to the dal makhani—it’s hands down the best I’ve ever had! While the food was outstanding, the dessert (gulab jamun cheesecake) fell short of expectations. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend Broadway Masala for anyone looking for a delicious and memorable meal. A must-visit!
Broadway Masala is an absolute gem ! The food is incredibly flavorful and authentic, capturing the essence of Indian cuisine with every bite. Each dish was perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection, offering a true culinary experience. The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and efficient, making the entire dining experience even better. The ambiance is warm, elegant, and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. If you’re looking for authentic Indian food with outstanding service and a fantastic atmosphere, Broadway Masala is the place to be !!!!

We had dinner at Broadway Masala on Saturday night. We were seated immediately upon arrival, and the ambiance was nice. The service was pretty good and the pricing is a little expensive. As for the food, Roomali roti and ghewar were delicious, and the avocado bhel was good. Fig and walnut kofta was okay with large portion size and the garlic naan was fine. Cauliflower manchurian was a bit underwhelming.
Service is very good! Food is basic. The only food I liked was avocado bhel! It was the best.
I recently dined at Broadway Masala Restaurant in Redwood City and had a somewhat mixed experience. While there were certainly aspects of the meal that I enjoyed, there were a few things that left me feeling a little underwhelmed. On the positive side, the restaurant had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, and the service was attentive and friendly. The menu had a good selection of dishes, and I appreciated the vegetarian options available. However, I was a little disappointed to find that the same gravy seemed to be used across most of the entrees, which made them all taste somewhat similar. While the flavors were good, it would have been nice to have a bit more variety in the dishes. Additionally, I found the portion sizes to be a little on the small side, especially given the prices. I left the restaurant feeling a bit hungry, which was a shame as the food itself was quite tasty. Overall, I would give Broadway Masala Restaurant a rating of 3.5 stars. While there were certainly aspects that I enjoyed, the lack of variety in the gravy and the small portion sizes left me feeling a little disappointed.
Edit 14 Aug 2025 - tried lunch today. Felt very rushed, biryani thali please avoid , weird combination of wet biryani , with some raita and a dal makhani. When feedback was given to the manager "Sunny", let me say the feedback was not taken constructively and turned more into giving excuses. Disappointed with the experience when I was there with my mom. Reduced 1 star overall Great food and service .. every item that we ordered was great .. great service and ambience . One of the best Indian restaurants in the bay area
I had aalu tikki chaat, spicy pineapple margarita and mango mojito, dal makhani, wheat roti with a side of onions and green chillies. Margarita was very spicy, and didn’t taste of pineapple. Mojito was a little sweet but good. Friend ordered lemon soda, it was good. Dal makhani was also nice. Tikki was a little too sour for me.
Chai- the flavours were on point. Only feedback, it was a bit watery than what I prefer. Tawa Paneer- Good, home-made flavours. I reckon that they added some kind of sweetness to balance the tartness which was okay. Chicken- curry had nice balanced flavours. Although the chicken might have been a bit tough (ever so slightly) that day. Naan- was really good.

We were received very rudely, by the lady at the front desk, when we entered a relatively empty restaurant, despite our prior reservation. That soured our entire experience unfortunately. Even so, the food was really good. We ordered a variety of appetizers and main course. The Salmon tikka, mushroom makhana curry, malvani fish curry were all delicious. The rumali rotis were huge and really well made. The lava cake and rasmala were decent too. I guess the dine in option leaves a lot to be desired, in terms of staff and service. The food is great though and I would recommend it.
Was eager to eat the galouti kebab, but was a bit disappointed. The paneer was also not the best tasting. Liked the railway cutlet and pani poori. Ambience was good. Service can be improved for an upscale Indian restaurant. They were a bit lethargic and non chalant towards us. They have original Indian kingfisher beer which was nice. Ghewar was also good
